Awesome Redondo Beach landmark. It looks like a Cape Code cottage from the outside with beautiful gardens. It's actually a museum that provides the rich history of Redondo Beach and some of its former residents (who are now famous).

Admission is free but be a considerate visitor and leave at least a small donation which goes directly to this museum. It's located on the corner of  Flager and Agate and they provide ample free parking.

Note: It's next to the Redondo Beach Dog Park and the dogs are prohibited from entering the garden and museum. I'm sure the docents love dogs but they are not allowed here.

Redondo Beach Historical Museum - worth a look if you are at all curious about the history of the city. Joan is right - the guide is the best part of the tour giving you a very personalised insight into the history of the city. At times it was a bit much as I just wanted to browse and I felt it would be rude not to give him my full attention. Some great photos - who knew Demi Moore was from Redondo? Also that it was the birth place of American surfing and that there were gambling boats off the coast run by the mob?!

The little old frame house that contains the museum was actually moved to its current location from another part of town......an ambitious move, up a large hill.  The museum is now next to a beautiful Victorian rose garden, adjacent to Dog Park.  Admission and ample parking are free.  My guide was the best part of the tour.  He grew up in Redondo....went to high school with the Smothers Brothers.....and then lived out of state for years & now has returned home.  He remembers the town when it was super cool - before the condo invasion that resulted in the destruction of countless vintage beach cottages.  The ruination of Redondo Beach continues, and that's a good reason to remind oneself of its proud history.  The little museum has well-displayed photographs and memorabilia that are sure to enhance the way you will view the community.  Hours are Weds. from 10-1 and Sat. & Sun. noon-4.  Oh, and when you have had your fill of history, Tike will talk sports with you.
