Good place. Staff is very friendly, yes. International clientele, a result of the draw of nearby corporations, mostly Microsoft. Good location if you need to be in Redmond. A bit expensive, I agree. I only ate breakfast here, but quality was good, definitely. So, It all boils down to location on this one.

To the individuals contemplating stay at the Redmond Marriott,

My name is Dr. Duke Maldundis Smitherson. I will begin this review by stating that I am a well known and highly respected professor of science and society (among other things) and have been teaching for over 22 years. I certainly do not lay claim to knowing absolutely everything there is to know about the world, life and death, however I am not usually one to believe in that of the so called  "Paranormal". But this b!tch is f*cking haunted!

    Okay, why the bad review?

    1. I am FUNDAMENTALLY OPPOSED to paying for parking. They charge $14.95 for self park, and $19.95 for valet. You aren't given the option of not paying. This ain't downtown Seattle, folks. Redmond is a suburb, which means space isn't a premium. Why charge so much?

    2. When asked if there was free parking around, the "superb staff" (yes, I'm mocking other reviews here) cautioned me about Redmond Town Center's "no overnight parking" policy and said, "Gee, I don't know." Hello! You work here--have you never bothered to look for free parking? (Clearly, they want your $14.95 to $19.95/day.) I drove around for ten minutes and found free parking 1.5 blocks away from the hotel entrance (on 76th street).

    3. Upon exiting the elevator to go to my room I was hit by the strong odor of cumin. This smells great on a hot Indian guy... but not in the hallway of a Marriott. Eeuwww.

    4. Tired, tired room. Late 1980s/early 1990s carpet, paintings, and furniture.

    5. You can't open the windows. Completely climate controlled by AC/heating.

    6. Water is $2.00 in the vending machine, and $2.76 if you go down to the front desk area. Hmmm.

    7. You have to pay $14.50 for 24-hour internet access. IN THIS DAY AND AGE? Sheesh.

Overall: I just felt "nickel-and-dimed" here.

I will give them this: The workout facility is really nice (new equipment--get there at 4:30 a.m. and you'll have the place to yourself). Also, the tired old rooms have big, big bathtubs. (That was nice.)

If you want a better value, check out the Hotel Sierra (also in Redmond). It's now a Hyatt. The beds are more comfortable, you can get a King Suite for less $$ than a King Room at the Marriott, and you'll have a kitchenette--all while basking a beautiful Midcentury-modern themed new hotel. (I switched hotels after I found the Sierra. It's a much better deal--and only four or five blocks away.)

Restaurant is now called Sear. Hotel is pricey. They kicked someone out while I was staying in their hotel. Security handled it well. Police showed up. Manager Jesus took great care of me - gave me free meals during my entire stay. Way to go, Jesus!

All of the staff were very friendly. The food was great. The room was comfortable enough. My only complaint is they don't have free wifi but I guess that's standard for Marriott.

It's a Marriott.  Decent decor, clean rooms, comfortable bed, reasonable amenities, good location in relation to Redmond's business district.  Easy enough to walk to a couple of good restaurants. Network access is $13 for 24 hours, though.

What gets this Marriott the fourth star is that the complimentary in-room coffee packs actually brew up something that's drinkable. That, my friends, is golden.

Located right in the heart of Redmond Town Center, a quaint outdoors mall with shops, restaurants, a small multiplex movie theater (no 007 darn), which after the snowstorm looked like a ski town resort, this is a nice upscale luxurious yet cozy stay that's away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Service was tip top with a quick and easy check-in. The lounge has a fireplace, very apt for the recent snowstorm and frostbiting weather. The valet staff are friendly and for $8/day you can park yourself in the lot across the street (park in L2 not L3 where the roof side will expose your car to snowfall and you'll be hosed in the morning)

When you call the front desk from your room, instead of a simple hello the receptionist greets you by Mr or Ms. and your last name. I forgot to bring toothpaste, and they brought up a free small tube within 2 mins (now that's QUICK) to the door.

2nd floor has a small gym, and during warmer months there's a heated outdoor swimming pool.

The Meritage, which is the downstairs bar and grill, has a breakfast buffet. A little steep at $16+ for simple fruit, scrambles, bacon, smoked salmon, bagels, yogurt, potatoes and a few other things I forgot, but good if you are on the go and don't want to head out into sub zero weather. Coffee or OJ is included.

The beds are quite comfy and facilites fine otherwise. The room thermostat works great but cold weather and dry hot air don't do wonders for your nasal passage :-/

This place might be a better gem to stay during autumn or summer, and if you are into riding bikes, the hotel guide proudly boasts that they are situated near 10K acres of pure wild beautiful biking trails.

Yes, we live in Redmond. Weird to stay at a hotel ten minutes away from your house? Not when you need a night away, folks! I guess we took "staycation" literally. Plus, waaaaay less expensive than any hotel in Seattle. So. Things I noticed:

    * Clean, upscale-ish rooms with blissfully comfortable beds. And the pillows! Perfection! No need to bring your own from home if you're staying here.

    * $12 for internet access. Thank god I am not a weary business traveler who needs to check her email every hour.

    * No fridges in the rooms! Even most seedy motels have fridges, no? To their credit though, we asked if we could leave our food in their downstairs kitchen and they said "no need" and brought up a replacement mini-fridge. Ask and you shall receive.

    * Nice people. My husband left his wallet in the room after check out - apparently it blended in with the night stand. The staff found it right away and it was at the front desk when we came back to pick it up.

We will definitely stay here next time we need a little "us" time, if only for one night!

I can't say much about the hotel rooms or amenities, per say. But I will say this: the pool is an excellent choice for a hot day in Redmond. It's super easy to sneak in to, and towels are provided.

    Shhhh it's a secret!!!

I stayed here a couple of months while I was working in Redmond right down the street.  The hotel staff was always incredibly nice the entire time I was there.

They are located right in the middle of the Redmond Town Center, a great shopping area. The hotel is also only a 5 minute walk from a very nice river side path and park.

The hotel has a nice little gym as well as an outdoor pool that stays heated throughout the winter.  Very nice if you like to grab a swim even when it's 30-40 degrees outside.

If you've got status (gold or platinum), the lounge up on the 7th floor is also very nice for breakfast and they tend to do a little bit of dinner etc as well.  Very useful considering there isn't much right next to the hotel int he way of food late at night.

All in all a very nice hotel with excellent staff.  I'd highly recommend it.

I'll preface by saying I didn't actually stay in a room, but did take advantage of their conference center and catering.

Both were pretty swell. The big ole conference rooms seemed pretty decent. The floor was clean enough that I was willing to sit on it b/c we ran out of chairs--until the helpful staff provided me one w/o even a word from me. Hurray for comfy butt!

Also, the lunch they provided was of note being actually pretty damn good for a hotel lunch buffet type a thing. The salmon was cooked perfectly! No hockey puck fish or dry dessicated leather steak for me!

My one complaint was that the "shrimp" salad thing used those damn bay shrimp which are the scourge of the earth. Real shrimp are big and meaty. They take two bites and scare children. Pssh. Bay shrimp.

My husband and I were recommended to stay at this Marriott by a family member while we were visiting over the holiday season.  We had originally wanted to stay at the Waterfront in Seattle, but being that we were not that familiar with how far apart everything we wanted to partake it was this was a much better choice.   The location is awesome as you've got several stores, coffee shops, and a movie theatre all within steps of the front door of the Marriott.   We didn't try the restaurant, although it looked good, because we were mainly with family or dining elsewhere.   The staff was great--friendly, helpful, and always welcoming each time we came "home" from a trek around the Seattle area.   We had heard that the rooms on the upper floors had undergone a major updating--just like the lobby area and restaurant have had (see the photo I took).   Unfortunately, our room was on the 5th floor, and it doesn't seem like our particular floor has had much attention paid to it in years.  It literally took over 5 minutes each night for the water out of the sink to become even luke warm.   The decor was a bit tired.   All-in-all, it was fine for our purposes as we were mostly in and out quite a bit.   We do stay in a lot of Marriotts as we have a timeshare, so we are very well aware what the typical Marriott property is like.   We'll definitely stay here again and try the restaurant the next time.   As mentioned--it looked really good!

Very nice facilities and friendly staff.  We're traveling with our toddler so space can be a issue, I asked the staff if there were any larger rooms available for us.  They were very accommodating to us and were able to get us a corner room.  Everything is modern clean and nice.  We liked walking to the local farmer's market and wandering the town center.  Feels like a mix of Santana Row and Stanford shopping center, if you're from northern California.

I have to agree with the other reviews here, the staff is extremely accommodating. Their flexibility makes up for a somewhat less than stylish hotel. This place is great for a business traveler. It's clean, the rooms are a decent size and it's reasonably priced. The bar and restaurant closed somewhat early, around 11pm, which wasn't great for me because I got in late, but there's a convenience area where you can get snacks (oops, initially I wrote "snakes" instead of "snacks." I doubt they actually have snakes but I guess you could ask.) and charge it to your room.
I'm a big fan of the staff because they were very conscientious when they didn't have to be. I had asked the concierge if they knew where I could buy Fran's chocolates, which is a local chocolate maker. By the time I came back to the hotel the next evening a different person than I had originally asked, found me and gave me a list of places I could go to buy the chocolates. That's service!
My one beef is that you have to pay for Internet access.
