5 reviews for Redmond Inn
When I visit Seattle on holiday, I find it an expensive town for accommodation in general. The influence of being a corporate town perhaps?
I tend to stay on the east side as it's generally cheaper and the freeways get me quickly around town. So when I spotted a good deal on Expedia for the Redmond Inn, I snapped it up.
Redmond Inn is just off the 520 but beware that signposting is rather non-existent while upgrading work on the freeway takes place.
There is ample parking around the 2 buildings which make up the accomodation blocks. Check in was fast and efficient and the front desk staff were always full of advice and information. There are local maps available if you ask them and they will happily print out driving instructions to any local attractions/amenities that you want.
There are bagels available in the mornings and cookies and real popped popcorn from a cart in the afternoon. Coffee is also available in the lobby. Included with all stays is a complimentary continental breakfast at the adjacent Family Pancake House. Alternatively, you can get $2 off any hot item with the breakfast coupon.
My room was comfortable and clean. Housekeeping was good. There was a good size TV with a nice range of channels, a fridge and separate sink. There was also a work desk and multiple power sockets available. The free wifi did waver a bit in strength but I managed to use my iPhone to surf the web quiet successfully. There is also a free computer for use in the lobby with printing facilities.
I didn't use the small outdoor swimming pool as the weather wasn't great but I did use the indoor spa pool.
All in all, a nice pleasant hotel which I shall use again if the price is right. They also run a loyalty scheme for free nights if you run up enough nights here.

I question whether or not the Redmond Inn even deserves one star, but because I've had decent experiences in the past...I'll allow it.
I stayed at the Redmond Inn for a quick overnight on last Saturday. Check-in was fine, rate was okay, and the room was clean. In the morning I left for work with the intention of coming back before check out time (noon) to gather up my belongings and officially check out of the room.
At 11:30 I called over the the hotel and asked the desk clerk if I could arrange a late check out. Sure no problem she said, and at 11:40 am I arrived back at my room intending to have lunch and catch a little nap before leaving. I entered my room to find that it had been cleaned and all of my belongings had been removed from the room. At first I didn't worry, as the housekeeping staff was right down the hall, and I believed it was just a matter of them pulling things from lost/found or from behind the desk. On the contrary and here is where the nightmare begins...
I asked the housekeeping staff where my belongings might be, and one of the ladies led me into a large closet where she then proceeded to pull three giant hefty trash bags from the corner. When she opened them they were filled with disgusting room trash, soiled paper towels, fast food garbage, etc...and I was absolutely horrified to realize that this is where she was about to search for my things. It was awful. I immediately went down to the front desk to alert them, and while they too were horrified...not one of them got up from the desk to see what was going on.
When I checked in to the hotel I had with me a package from USPS that I had received that day FULL of unopened boxes of jewelry. The boxes were adorable and packaged professionally and all contained within the large shipping box. There was NO reason to remove the contents, open them, OR THROW THEM IN THE TRASH. The housekeepers took it upon themselves to open each jewelry box, remove each piece of jewelry from it's careful wrapping and THROW IT IN THE TRASH. I was absolutely mortified and infuriated. They tried as quickly as possible to pull everything together, but most of the boxes were ruined, the packaging was soiled and I had damaged and missing jewelry. Everything else (including my iPod which took a long time to be found) was eventually returned to my room, but disgusting from being mixed in with the trash.
I returned downstairs to checkout and the girl proceeded to ask me for payment method. I refused to pay for my room and asked to hear from the manager. Of course I had to initiate contact with the manager, who had first said he would do anything to regain my trust and make things right. Now I'm beginning to believe that that was merely a ploy to keep me from filing a police report, as now it is too late.
As of today he has not refunded me anything for the pair of earrings that were damaged beyond repair and the necklace that is missing. He says the staff was disciplined, but that doesn't make the situation right with me at all. I am gravely disappointed at this lack of customer service, and complete disrespect and violation of my privacy. Because I am moving out of the area in a few days I'm certain that the manager could care less. However, I'm not giving up on this and will do whatever I can to let the public know what happened. It is so unfair, and I was cheated out of my belongings.
My advice: DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! THERE ARE OTHER HOTELS IN KIRKLAND FOR COMPARABLE PRICES. IF YOU DO STAY....DON'T EVER LEAVE THE ROOM, OR DEMAND A SAFE FOR YOUR BELONGINGS.
I've stayed here a lot over the years. The building is old...but has been upgraded. Free Wifi. The staff is friendly and professional. Free cookies, coffee, and popcorn are a nice touch.
The rooms are nice and well maintained. My only issue is that the walls are paper thin.
I don't know what the current rate is because the company I was visiting paid the bill.

This hotel recently went through an upgrade. The staff was friendly enough, guests are mostly the business type, so they weren't to prepared for a family with young children. Though they did serve bagels in the morning, cookies and popcorn in the evening, and hot cocoa/coffee all day long. The price was a bit on the high side, but we really enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfasts at Pancake House across the street. All in all it was a decent hotel stay.

Stayed there this month (participated in the Breast Cancer 3-day walk) and enjoyed the experience. The staff was wonderful. We needed daily rides to Marymore park and members of the staff agreed to shuttle us back and forth anytime we called. One even woke up at 5 in the morning to drive us early in the morning. And, one day we asked the staff if they could drive us to Whole Foods (our feet couldn't carry us any further after 20 miles), not only did she take us but she waited in the parking lot. Such kind folks. To top if off, I left a valuable personal item in the room, and when I called a week later to see if it was in Lost & Found, sure enough they kept it at the front desk for me to come and pick up. Oh, and they're right next door to The Pancake House. Yum. Highly recommended.
