I give 5 stars without hesitation on this one.
As a first time homeowner for the past 18 months, we've had a number of workers and contractors come through our house -- installing a laundry room, cleaning out the wild mess of our back yard, cleaning and staining the deck and now painting the house.
RedHill was by far the best team of anyone we've hired. Punctual, polite, low-maintenance and on-budget. That in itself is great. Completely painless. What a rarity!
But then of course was the work they did, which was excellent. They painted the entire inside of our house (all three floors) on schedule and it looks GREAT.
We couldn't be happier and would recommend RedHill to all of our friends and all of you fellow YELPers without hesitation.
5 stars here too! Very personable, professional, clan and easy to work with. A week before we were ready to get started,Redhill set me up with their color consultant Nan Kornfeld to choose the colors in our condo. She and Philip were both instrumental in steering me toward the most Eco friendly, green paints.
Once the paints were chosen, Redhill painters were very quick and easy to deal with. Full marks!
When he first arrived, I was impressed by how affable he was. He proceeded to point out some dry rot that I had missed and some other important details that would have to be considered as part of the job. He answered all my questions in a way that I knew I could trust his judgement and that he would do a good job.
In addition to doing a great job, which should go without saying given the 5-star review, Red Hill provides excellent personal service. The owner, Phillip, was extremely responsive (responding to voicemail and email without delay) and personable. His crew was professional and seemed very trustworthily. I would, and have, recommended Red Hill to anyone I know who is looking for a quality painter.
Since building my house 20 years ago, I've worked with a lot of contractors in the city, including several painting contractors. When I had my house repainted recently, I chose Redhill after getting several estimates, and I don't regret it.
I've found that the most important thing about a painter is attitude. A good painter hires a really good crew, does a very careful and thorough prep job, then makes sure the painting is terrific. Phillip at Redhill has this kind of attitude - he works very hard to get it right.
The Redhill crew was clearly carefully chosen - these weren't guys who were picked up on the corner. They were a pleasure to have around, and they knew their stuff. They did a good job prepping every inch of the building, fixing all the minor problems and working with me to get a few rotten boards replaced.
I spent a lot of time working on color schemes, and Phillip was very helpful in making the final choices. He didn't hesitate to paint sample areas on the house and try different combinations until we got it right, and the results are excellent.
In finishing the job, Phillip was quick to fix any minor errors - most of which he found - and when I asked him to add some extra caulk and repaint one hard-to-access area, he did so without any hesitation and did more than I asked for.
Phillip's attitude, from start to finish, was "do the best possible job at a reasonable price and make sure the owner is really, really happy." I am, and I would recommend Redhill to anyone.
You know in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire, where after a dozen disastrous interviews Mrs. Doubtfire finally shows up and Sally Fields is like, ahhh! That's Philip, minus the cross-dressing.
We were looking for a painter to do most of the interior of our house, and to assist with color consulting as we didn't have a clue about color. I interviewed several painters. One was 4 days late with his estimate. One spent like an hour in my house talking about his hobbies. One sent me pictures of a recent trip. One obsessed about painting the doors in my house (didn't I say I only wanted to do the walls?).
Philip is the owner of RedHill Painting. Very professional, extremely nice and most importantly, uncomplicated. He listened to what we wanted to accomplish, provided valuable input on things we did not foresee, and helped us select beautiful colors. Because we had a toddler and another baby on the way, he selected low fume paint - and I swear, my nail polish remover gave off more fumes than the paint he used. Philip and his crew did a fantastic job, and we couldn't be more pleased. We are recommending RedHill Painting to all of our friends - definitely put them on your list of painters to consider!
* Edit: about six months later. I needed one of my rooms painted in the next couple days. I emailed Philip on a Wednesday, and got a response from him the same day - from IRELAND, where he was vacationing. He handled all the arrangements, and on Friday one of his crewmembers arrived, and the job was done. Amazing. Guinness all around!

First I have to say, my house looks FABULOUS! I have an old house with old ugly wood trim and Phillip and his crew made it look fantastic. Phillip and Redhill was of the three painting companies I met with about painting the interior of my house and was the ONLY one that encouraged me to paint over the wood, BECAUSE it was what I wanted, not what he thought I should do. The crew was great! Fabian was so helpful in keeping me updated on the project. The price was also very reasonable. When I am ready to do the rest if my house... I know who I am calling. Nothing more than a great experience!
RedHill Painting was referred to us by our electrician and we couldn't have been more pleased. Philip, the owner, and his crew take great pride in their work and did a beautiful job in our home. Unfortunately, our General Contractor did sub-par work and our walls were far from "paint-ready." Philip and his crew did amazing finishing work and the final product was beautiful. I would absolutely use and recommend Philip and his crew again!
