I actually found out about this place on yelp, and now i'm back to review it!
We went for brunch on a sunday morning and didn't have to wait at all, which was awesome. I agree with everyone who's said the menu is more than just your average brunch menu, but it's also not insanely weird and inedible.

I really enjoyed my mashed potato omelette, although probably more in principle than in practice. Some things were pre-cooked that didn't have to be, but it did facilitate fast service. Bottomless mimosas were delicious and dangerous!

Good beer, good food.

I came here on a night out with my friends to celebrate my birthday.  We prepartied a little beforehand, so I don't really remember too much of the bar scene.  I do remember it being not too crowded, especially for Fell's Point on a Saturday night.  And I do remember having a pretty awesome beer.  Though I did notice some of the beer prices were a little steep for my taste.  It feels like the usual Fell's Point crowd say if you were to go some place like Max's Taphouse.

I'd heard good things about the brunch, so the next day I came back to try it.  Unfortunately we missed brunch by a few minutes (it ends at 2), but we ate off of their lunch menu.  My friend had a bison burger, which he enjoyed, and I had a turkey burger, which I thought was decent as well.  I definitely want to come back here at some point to try the brunch.  And maybe on another night to try some more of the beers.

A great place to go for BRUNCH in the Fells Point area of Baltimore.  It is a very nice set-up....booths, pub style tables with chairs on both sides in the center of the restaurant.  The bar is a nice size as well where you can view the plasma TVs.  They have a couple TVs to view, but its not the best place to go to watch a game or sporting event.  You will need to sit at the bar or the center area for the best seat.

OK so now the food is actually very good.  I had the burger and it was perfecto.  The eggs were also good.  I tried the Poached eggs with crab hash.  It was rich and filling, but my burger was better.

BEST PART:  All you can drink...bloody Mary's and Mimosas while you are eating.  The bloody Mary is extremely spicy and the Mimosas are deadly too.  They use fresh Champagne....probably not the greatest but you will have a lot of bubbles.

Whenever I go back to Baltimore...I will def be back for some Red Star brunch---bloody Mary and a burger.

YUM!!!

The brunch was very good! Frittata was yummy, but the best was the blackberry compote French Toast - AWESOME.  They need a better tea selection, the only black tea available was Constant Comment and that stuff reminds me of my grandmother. The waitress was GREAT, she even told us about what neighborhoods still have great affordable houses and are not totally dangerous ( what neighborhood in Baltimore isn't dangerous!?). Also, the dining room was clean and bright - no greasy smudges on the windows and doors. Greasy smudges seem to be the decor du jour for most Baltimore restaurants - yuck.

so after rambling around sunday morning in b'more i ended up here jus to get happy on sunday.  you know what made me really happy this sunny sunday morning?

bottomless mimosas?
Pancakes to die for?
French Toast too?

the blueberry coconut pancakes were done great, and the cakes were like granny made 'em: crispy on the outside and soft inside and soaks up the berry compote/syrup very well

The French toast was great too, the walnit/blackberry combo was a nice touch.

I had to take off a star for the fritatta... the potatoes were not done well enough and it was kinda bland, but i can say they've sold me on the french toast pancakes alone....

The place has neat wooded decor and feels spacious.  I lke it probably more as a bar than a brunch place, but as a casual brunch place it rocks...

Good neighborhood hang out - although there are better pubs in Fells Point (try Kooper's).  They do have good cocktails though, and good rosemary fries.  Outside of happy hour, I think their drinks are over priced.  And many of their entrees are more misses than hits depending on who is in the kitchen.

Red Star is a stand out in Baltimore, both for its chill bar atmosphere that is conducive to watching local sports while avoiding the 'sports bar' feel and having a conversation with friends without shouting, and its lovely weekend brunch.

The bottomless mimosas and/or bloody marys are a great deal for pretty tasty elixirs. Brunch is adventurous without being pretentious, and good stand-by's like frittatas and french toast keep you satisfied.

I applaud them for their versatility in getting the bar aspect down pat, and the brunch as well.

Great job, Red Star!

Great brunch, with bottomless mimosas and bloody marys till two. Good food(i heart the frittata, but the breakfast pasta is nowhere near as cool as it sounds), in a nice space with all the standard yup-grades - exposed brick, hardwood. Close to the water, but with a parking lot across the street, which is a huge plus.

Red Star is a great spot to grab lunch, dinner or Brunch. They now serve Brunch on both Saturday and Sunday which is nice. About 15 beers on tap with new ones always in rotation. Weekly specials reflect seasonally freshnees. Service is hit or miss but for the most past good. Great Place to hang out with friends.

I've only been for brunch, but I don't think its the best brunch in Baltimore as people have said. My two favorites- the sunday morning which is just eggs, toast, homefries and sausage, and the blueberry and coconut stuffed pancakes.

City Paper gave this "best brunch" so my boss and I decided to check it out. Unfortunately they weren't serving brunch (we came on a Saturday around some Fells Point drinking festival), but we ordered anyway.

Starter: crab & artichoke dip with a grilled baguette. DELICIOUS! Total gut buster.

Entrees: Steak salad and balsamic vinaigrette and sesame-crusted ahi tuna salad with a thick aioli dressing. Nicely done for what's essentially a bar!

We ordered two crab cake sandwiches to go so we could eat them on the airplane. Also gulped down the Brewer's Art pale ale--I'm not a beer drinker, but when I do, I go light, and this was really flavorful!

Our waitress was fantastic--she knew we were on a tight schedule, eating-wise, so she placed the orders, ran the credit card, chatted with her about the work we did, and went straight to Dulles.

Forget Inner Harbor--I'm heading to Fells Point next time for the eats and drinks!

Great bar, good food!  This is a fun place to hang out and drink at night - they have a good selection of beers and a consistently decent crowd. They seem to have good entertainment on Sat nights as well (one man guitarist last time was AWESOME - sang some fun songs!).

a two floor bar/restaurant, the high ceiling and the bar setup makes me feel like i'm out in the west, except the giant glass behind the bar turns into shelves with bottles and a couple flat screens. the setup is very friendly. lots of open space to mingle after dinner hours.
the menu is above average - very good bar food and decent dinner menu. this is a great place for a lazy afternoon drink or dinner get together.
live music on the first floor helps to liven up the crowd.
