The entrance to the Red Square is a bit tough to find.  The door is on Charles Street, and opens into the shops that are below the Belvedere.  Once inside the door, the restaurant is to the immediate left.

The food here is good, some menu items are extraordinary, and some are just ok.  I have had some amazing fish and the herbed potatoes are to die for.  I was a bit disappointed with the borscht.  Depending on your knowledge, it may be necessary to ask the server to describe what some of the items on the menu are.

I give the Red Square 4 stars for the experience.  There aren't many restaurants in Baltimore that make you feel like you are dining in another country, but this place does.  The decor is nice, very warm, somewhat rich, and of course, RED.  Flat screen TVs playing Russian MTV are placed throughout the dining room.  On the weekends, there is usually live music and sometimes a DJ.

If you dine during the week, it's almost guaranteed that the place will be empty, which can be nice.  My preference is to come on the weekend so that I have the opportunity to people watch.  Typically there is a birthday or barmitzvah celebration.  Usually there are three generations partying and dancing to the cheesy Russian or American pop music (Let the sun shine!) and eating course after course of banquet style food.

Beware that there may be a cover on the weekends.  I think that if you arrive before 9 or 10pm, you should be safe, but the doorman has a tendency to be sheisty.
