It's a liquor store
Good-
They deliver almost ANYTHING in glen park/exelsior till 1 am
(including beer/wine/catfood/ sandwiches/toilet paper- anything!)
yes the guys who work there AWESOME!
The food is fast food- so I can't give it more than 3 stars, but for fast food it is quite good! and inexpensive-
they will make things to order
very timely delivery-
unfortunately i've gotten in the habbit of ordering stuff from them often (cheaper than going to the store)
5 stars for service
5 stars for price
5 stars for being a corner liquor store and doing so much
but I can't give 5 stars, for it isn't a 5 star restaurant
5 stars for what it is!
We love ordering from these guys. Really friendly service, and they always seem happy to hear from us when we call.
My favorite order is a large cheese pizza and an order of dolmas. Their dolmas always taste SO fresh, and there's nothing better than dipping your pizza crust into the leftover dolma oil in the bottom of the container.
I'm with Tiffany S. I love my guys at Red Sea much too much to not give a very well thought out and honest review.
So, I found myself hungy tonight, too tired to defrost and cook anything. Usually, and I will be honest in saying this, when I think of ordering Red Sea Pizza I immediately get the screwy face looking back at me in my rear view mirror on my drive home from work. My brains screams out "NOooooooooo!". There is *something* a little different about their pizza that my brain can't quite wrap itself around.
Then, reality hits me. Red Sea Market is one minute from my house. Red Sea Market also gives me the opportunity to pick up a bottle of cabernet and a pint of Ben and Jerry's. What other pizza place gives me that option, just a mere one minute from home? None... nada.. nil...
Let's break it down, shall we?
As I sit here now, staring at their menu, the front says:
Quality Pizza at It's Best
Pizzera and Groceries
We Do your shopping for you and deliver it from our market.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????
I say...
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????
What full-time working sonova' ______ wouldn't take advantage of this option?
"Ya, I'll take some Zest, a Vitamin water, some Tide Mountain Spring, a Yoo-hoo, some toilet paper, a box of Trojans, a six pack of Prohibition and a medium Cheese pizza please. Thank you.
Shooooooooot. Momma didn't raise no fool.
The pizza is.. well, pretty tasting. As in, it tastes pretty. It's not loaded with grease or oil, so it's not going to taste as down and dirty as other pizzas you are probably used to. This is why the vegetarian pizza is probably so good and appeals to vegetarians, its sans grease and meat oils. The sauce is light and clean. The crust is thick and is rather soggy, but, hey.. crusts are hard to make perfectly crispy-soft so I won't give them too hard of a time. Don't try and order a small, because they don't make 'em and if you're not in the mood for a whole, you can get a slice.
If you don't want a pizza they also offer cold and hot sandwiches, salads and chicken skewers. And, seriously, the skewers kick major ass. Get two of these bad boys and you're good to go. There's also the greek deli offerings like dolmas and pastas. Really, you can't go wrong.
So, today's lesson boys and girls is, if you want down and dirty pizza go elsewhere. If you want pretty pizza from some of the nicest gentlemen you will ever have the pleasure to meet in this fine city, call Tony at Red Sea and order a San Jose special. And while you're at it get a box of Trojans and some Pinot too...
Put on the Barry White and make it a "special" night all around : )
As I expected the sausages looked like giant rat turds - but you never know until you try! Satisfied the craving but not as good as previous pizzas from this place.

Back in school there was a place you could get a large pizza for $2.73. No I'm not that old, it's… Read more »
I love Red Sea! Mike (who works evenings behind the counter) is hilarious. Also Red Sea has fantastic pizza and their honey barbecue wings are off the hook.
I'm going with Jazmin here: Terrible, awful pizza that I actually threw out.
I don't know who at Red Sea Pizza thought it would be a good idea to make their sauce from a bag of sugar and half a tomato, but it tasted like candied ketchup. Barf. Pizza should not be sweet.
The cheese and toppings (spinach and tomatoes) weren't as disgusting, but definitely not good. The crust? Soggy.
Overall, what makes this pizza my #1 most hated is the sauce. Never, ever ordering from there again.
Here's my breakdown:
Service: 5 stars
Pizza: 4 stars
Salad: 3 stars
Chicken Wings: 4 stars
Price: 5 stars
I'm too lazy to bust out a calculator, so I'm just going to assume that this averages to somewhere between 4-5 stars.
Food: The pizza isn't phenomenal. The honor for that goes to Zachary's Pizza, which is Chicago style pizza and therefore an entirely different breed of pizza, but still. That said, the pizza is good. When you want basic pizza (neither New York nor Chicago, but somewhere in between) with frills (artichoke hearts, pesto, barbecue chicken, etc) or no frills (cheese, pepperoni, sausage, etc.), and you want it at a decent (re: CHEAP) price, Red Sea is a good place to call.
The salad is decent - the great thing is that they use romaine lettuce and not iceberg, but aside from that it's something you eat when you want to assuage any guilt about eating pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and salami piled on top.
In fact, on Thursday nights, you can get the salad + 1 large pizza with pepperoni, sausage and salami for $16.
The wings have a small kick to them, nothing outrageous. It's great that they offer them, because I love getting wings with my meat pizzas.
Service: The man who picks up is very friendly. He remembers me every time I call - I prefer to think it's because he's an outstanding people-person, and not because I'm a fat-ass who calls them for delivery all the time, despite living a couple blocks away.
In fact, a couple nights ago, I called him 20 minutes after placing my order, asking if he could add some salt and vinegar chips to the mix. He said he was out, and I said, "Give me something salty and sour." He said, "I have just the thing. I'll hook you up." My order arrived with salad, pizza, and a bag of chile limon chicharonnes. I devoured the latter by the next morning. The point of this little anecdote is to underscore the fantastic service (and the perks of Red Sea being a liquor store), not to point out that I'm a fat-ass.
Oh, and one time, I called and asked if they could deliver me some eye contact solution with my pizza. They answered in the affirmative. C'mon guys, how is this not a big deal?
PS - My boyfriend prefers this place to North Beach Pizza. He is not a fatty. He just knows good pizza.
I think the people that don't like this place is comparing this place to a regular pizzaria. THIS PLACE IS A LIQUOR STORE!!!!!!!! Are you telling me that this pizza is not good for a liquor store???? Matter of fact, I think this is the best tasting pizza I ever had from a liquor store!!! A large 2 topping for $12. Can't go wrong wit dat!! If you like a thin crunchy crust, then you would like dis place. Don't you go and order no soy cheese pizza either like these crazy people up in here. If you want soy cheese, GO TO NAPA!!
Why would anybody give this place a one star too!! Even if you do not like the pizza, the owners there are super cool. Who eva gave this place one star. You Guys Suck!!!!
(Update: I have been ordering the pizza here a lot and want to share my experiences with you. 1rst I would recommend you order here late night when they are not as busy. 2nd, if you do order your pizza earlier in the day I would tell them to cook the pizza longer. sometimes when they get busy, they tend to undercook the pizza. If you stick with these recommendations you be aight!!)
This place has really good pizza, friendly service, and is good for the price I guess. The crust was also not just soft dough, but crunchy.
I have never been to this restaurant, so my review is based solely on the fact that they carpet bombed my entire neighborhood with fliers, a great great number of which ended up in the gutter. I pass literally dozens of them on the way to the park in the morning with my dogs, and I curse every single one of them. Red Sea should send their canvasing team back out to Bernal Hill to clean up the mess they've made.
I have to completely disagree with my fellow yelper for this pizza place. Sorry!
This is our favorite place to order pizza from. First off, they do one of the best vegetarian pizza's I have ever had. It has all kinds of yummy veggies on it and yet manages not to be soggy and gross. Secondly, this place doesn't just do pizza, it is also a local market and Greek deli. It's the only place where I've been able to order dolmas with my pizza! YUM!
The prices are not bad for the quality of pizza you get. The portions are very large and the crust is hand tossed. The ingredients all taste very fresh, they say that they are straight from the market produce they sell.
We usually get carry out (which is probably why we don't have the credit card issue) but that is because hanging around the market talking to everyone is a great way to catch up on neighborhood gossip and find out whats going on with everyone. Plus, you can pick up a six pack while you're there.
Also, for what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the owner delivers the pizzas. At least it's always Tony going out when we're there.
Definitely a must try, I'm not saying you'll love it, but come on, it's pizza, it's worth the risk.
We ordered the soy cheese pizza and it was absolutely terrible and inedible. We threw it out, which is something I NEVER do as I hate to waste food and will eat something even if it's not that good out of guilt. I did not feel guilty about throwing it out, but was pretty pissed off that we paid money for it.
The middle of the pizza was soggy and everything just slid off it as soon as you picked it up.
Maybe their normal cheese pizza is ok, I don't know. But they should really think about switching the brand of their soy cheese.
UPDATE: Actually, I never took it down. It just dissappeared and only showed up on my profile page. Tres Bizarre. I still have the same opinion of Red Sea. I'm sure their market is great, and maybe even their normal cheese pizza. Their soy cheese however, is just terrible.
There's not a ton of options for pizza in Glen Park, and Red Sea is my favorite. The crust is actually crusty, not soft. The sauce is super flavorful (I always ask for extra). And the guys there are very, very nice. Plus, they always come within the timeframe they tell you.
