With winter weather in April a couple of my girlfriends and myself were depressed and in need of a mid day break complete with some warmth and good company.   The warmth we desired came in the form of tea and soup that day from this charming little establishment.

Apparently this was once called the Peach Tree Bakery & Tea Garden of which I had visited before however it seems that not much else has changed but the name.  It is still a quaint little place decorated in the Country Village theme of antiques with floral flair, very tea lady inspired.  There is still a large tea menu, the pastry chef remains the same and so are her dilectable treats plus the "mom made from scratch" soup and sandwiches are still on the menu.

You can choose between 3 high tea options complete with a tower of treats or freshly made soup, sandwiches and salad combinations.  I chose the soup/1/2 sandwich combo and had a delicious grilled cheddar and turkey with chicken soup.  The best part is they end the meal with a warm scone complete with lemon curd and whipped cream.  YUM!

There were two drawbacks to my experience thus the negative 2 stars.  One is that the pricing seems a bit steep to me, I paid $9.95 for 1/2 sand/soup combo plus another couple $ for the tea.  The other is that our server, although she was the only one on the floor, was a bit brash.   We had some questions/confusion with the menu and it seemed as though we were putting her out by not knowing what we wanted immediately.  In addition they are only open from 12-3 and she was sure to remind us several times that closing time was approaching so our leisurely lunch felt a bit rushed as a result.

Other than that, we all enjoyed mugs of the Bourbon Vanilla Tea of which to be able to wrap your hands around the mug while enjoying good company was all that we needed to melt the cold that the snow in April gave us.
