Due to long term business commitments in the Syracuse, NY area, I needed a place to stay on an extended basis. I was responsible for the cost of my housing and I searched for a motel brand I could trust and feel comfortable with. Red Roof Inn consistently presents clean, comfortable, secure accommodations at a great price. The Syracuse location was no exception.
As I have stayed at this location extensively during the past year, I have had the opportunity to stay in different rooms throughout the motel. The rooms are clean. Housekeeping is efficient and most importantly, trustworthy.
The staff, from the manager, desk clerks, housekeeping, and maintenance are all friendly, polite and professional. I have never encountered any unpleasant exchanges with any of the staff. I have experienced very minor issues while staying here such as my room was not cleaned one day. The management immediately apologized, offered to correct the issue and issued a credit to my account.
The location is very convenient and is situated just off the NY Thruway and close to Route 81. It is also only less than ten minutes from the airport. If you are highly sensitive, and I do emphasize highly sensitive, to noise you might notice some road noise or truck activity. For me, it is barely a blip of background noise.
Overall, the facility and the staff are top notch. My thanks to Cam, Jamie, Sharon, Tina, Gloria and all the staff for making my stay so comfortable and enjoyable.
Did I mention the free coffee and newspapers available 24/7? -

This was a last minute reservation made in lieu of Hurricane Irene, which prevented us from going to Albany. It will be the last time in a Red Roof.
Standard room had no coffee pot, no fridge and no microwave, which is contrary to what's advertised via the website. Asked for the govt rate upon seeing multiple empty rooms, but was denied. Requested a first floor room (traveling with a toddler and pet), but sent to the third instead. I know I'm not a frequent guest here, but the service seemed like I was in NYC and not CNY.
Yep, you'll get one great rate here, but even for $101 bucks I expected more. We addressed these issues with the manager directly and followed up with an email. She did respond, but the experience still left us with a bad taste. -

I'd give 2 1/2 stars if I could...
Nicer than most Red Roof Inn's (which is not hard)...looks like the whole hotel has been redone. Very nice staff, very quiet considering it's close to a busy road. -

its a 5 minute drive from the airport and the rooms are very big and clean. there are a lot of stores nearby but if your looking for nightlife dont stay here. its a ways away from dtown. but if your stuck in syracuse and just there for the night then this is a cheap good place.
