"This is the best burger joint I've even went to! The decor is downright "dope" with all the urban paintings and the overall industrial look.…" read more »
We ate here sunday morning. It was ok. I had the A-1 Peppercorn burger, and ordered it w/ no pink inside (they ask you how you want it cooked). I like the idea of free steak fry refills and free drink refills, and the service was great, but my burger was just ok, nothing great. We also ordered a small stack of the onion rings and those were good, but then again you can't mess up onion rings...
I like Lesterburgering at Red Robin.
I think the first time I went to a Red Robin was my first U.S.of A. welcome meal near the San Francisco Airport after spending 2 weeks in Nigeria. Not fine dining but have been back to this Santa Clara location at least 4 times now, once with family and the other times with guys from work.
On this visit I brought a couple of my staff here to get more acquainted with one of the new guys. Arrived around 11:45 a.m. just before the lunch rush and were seated right away. Our waitress was pleasant but her voice was a one note high pitch and was hard to understand with the lunch rush background noise. The drink order came up promptly but had to wait for our meals a little longer than usual. I ordered the California Chicken Burger which was moist and delicious. The other two in my party ordered wraps which I think are a poor excuse for a burrito at any establishment. I appreciated the waitress promptly refilling our drinks. She also came by and offered to refill our fries which we declined but I appreciated anyway.
This is not a day to day lunch stop for me but I will return often enough to help pay for the balloons at the hostess stand.

Yummy burgers with lots of selections on the menu. Try their bottomless fries and drinks! They have an excellent selection of smoothies as well.
The blueberry pomogranate limeade is to die for. ^_^ The salads are also huge and wonderful.
The first time I came to this place, I ordered the Jalapeno burger and got food poisoning. Vomit and diarrhea galore.
I came back today because I was craving for a nice big burger. I got the Bayou burger and so far, I'm not feeling sick.
Let's hope that lasts.

I enjoy eating here from time to time. main reason: their bottomless steak fries and the freckled lemonade! You can pretty much get full eating fries and sipping on lemonade. Their burgers are quite large in my opinion that I request the waiter to always have it cut in half. I'm glad to have such great service each time I eat here. They're always upbeat and pleasant. I haven't had a problem with asking them how I wanted my order of food. Although, this place does get pretty busy no matter what day you come in. The usual burger I order is the banzai burger which has that rich taste of teriyaki flavor. I also enjoy the Whiskey River BBQ Chicken Wrap which comes with a side of their steak fries and a slice of cantaloupe. Yummay! This place is ideally great to eat with family or a group of friends.
After doing a lot of apartment hunting with my friend we were starved and needed something to eat. So we decided on going to Red Robin since it was close by and we knew that the fries were always good, especially the ranch dip. Service is quick (I mean 15 minuet quick) for being pretty busy and as always the chocolate shake was delicious!
The food here is of typical Red Robin quality. The restaurant is much nicer than the one in San Bruno, partly because it is located in a nice new plaza. The atmosphere is good, with an active vibe.
OK, maybe this is dating me, but I can remember, once upon a time as a pre-high school kid, when lunch for 2 at Red Robins, including 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 cokes, would average up to just $12. Fast-forward some 16 years later, the amount is now $40! Wow, time has changed. Food is still the same, very bland.
This is decent place if you go for their "gourmet burger" as a treat for Friday lunch. The service has been always friendly. For around $15 (that is tax + tip), you can get a good burger with all you eat fries and order the freckle lemonade.
The people who work at this Red Robin location must be happy. They are mostly really nice and actually show some intelligence. I always have had a great experience here.
I always customize my order. They have so may options. Try the chili chili cheeseburger with a fried egg on top. It is a heart attack on a plate, but man, it is unforgettable. I have ordered from the kids menu for myself. I like the simplicity of the grilled cheese sandwich, but when I asked for fruit on the side instead of fries, and I got two translucent shavings of melon, I was disappointed. The fries were okay, The garlic fries were better.
When I piked up my to-go order, the lady at the bar was very nice and attentive though she was dealing with multiple customers at once.

I've been to other Red Robin's - but I have not had good luck at the Rivermark one at all.
The first time we went, we went relatively near the time they were closing, but that still is no excuse to not cooking your burger all the way through.
The second time, I stayed away from red meat, getting pasta. The food was OK, but we were seated directly underneath a fan. I asked politely if they could turn it off or if we could move to a nearby table. We were told that the fan would be shut off. When we asked again later they said sorry and that the other table wasn't available, although probably 10 minutes went by and then someone else was seated there.
Every time I think about giving it another chance, I picture the undercooked meat. If you're in the Rivermark area, I'd suggest Quiznos or Yan Can Cook instead.

This is the place where you can get a $6 hamburger for $12, and be completely happy with it. The burgers are cooked just right, well enough but still juicy throughout. The fries are cut thick and excellent, not one bit starchy inside or out.
The wait staff is pleasant and fast. They know how to lunch here - you can be in and out in under one hour, and not feel rushed at all. I love this place.
I had a late lunch here today with a friend. We rolled in around 2:30pm and were promptly seated despite a rather large crowd. The inside looks like a typical American style family restaurant, reminiscent of TGI Friday's or BJ's. The decor is rather nice; the restaurant has very high ceilings and a spacious feel. There were a few tv's on the walls, but most of them were broadcasting last years NCAA bball Championship game between Ohio State and Florida.
As soon as we sat down, our server (who was quite cute, by the way) was there with menus in hand, ready to take our drink order. I think her name is Crystal, but she was wearing so many buttons and pins on her shirt that I was never able to find her name tag to verify. Anyways, back to the drinks; my friend ordered a strawberry lemonade ($3), which she liked so much that she asked for a to-go cup to take her refill home. I was going to order a Mai-Tai (they have a full bar), but decided on an Arnold Palmer ($2) instead. Drinks came quickly, and tasted the way they should. I don't really see how the drinks we ordered could be done poorly though, so nothing spectacular about that.
My friend ordered a Gigantic cheeseburger with a fried egg in it ($10), and I ordered a BLTA Croissant-which (also $10). It was mostly a turkey and avocado sandwhich with some bacon thrown in. Her burger came with unlimited fries (awesome!), so I chose to substitute my fries for a cup of delicious clam chowder.
Our food arrived quickly, and was gobbled up quickly by us. My croissant-which was very tasty, in it's simplicity. The turkey was moist and tender, and the avocado was fresh and plentiful. My friend's burger was enormous, and cooked just right. The egg was a novel addition to a staple of American cuisine. The fries came in a rather small portion, but refills were free, so no complaints there. There's a Red Robin branded seasoning there that's basically allspice, but it goes really well on the fries and burgers.
After the meal, our bill ($28 for the two of us) was settled quickly, and we were off. On the way out, the doorman handed my friend a pink balloon.
Good: Excellent service, reasonable prices, good food, unlimited fries! Oh, and a free balloon.
Opposite of good: Tiny bathroom, dining area can be quite noisy (even at 3pm)
Verdict: I had a good experience, and would recommend it to people not yet tired of the typical American restaurant dining experience.

Really it's about a 1.5 (rounded down to 1) rather than a 2, but I'm still enjoying the afterglow of my House of Kabobs meal so I'm feeling a bit generous. It's average, yet somehow overrated. The time I went, the line up was over 30 mins... 30 mins!! You would think for this amount of popularity that it would actually be great, but it's not. It's a run-of-the-mill hamburger joint. If you're really craving hamburgers, you should go to Clarke's in Mountain View.
It's probably best suited for 17-year olds going on a first date and the dude has a limited budget because he already blew half his monthly allowance paying for movie tickets at the Great Mall. He's getting hungry, but knows that Outback steakhouse is out of his price range, so he suggests "What about Red Robin? I think either Jack or Cindy are working there tonight and can get us free Coke! Maybe we can all work on our algebra homework together!"
Go there if you have no appreciation for hamburgers, or if you just don't care and want to eat, but avoid lunch time.

I really enjoy this restaurant when I feel like cheating and not being so careful about what I eat!! Red Robin is a great burger and fries joint, and good for a party as little as two or a family of ten! The menu features mostly its specialty....burgers, but also has a lot of other items just as mouthwatering. If you want something very tasty and don't want the guilt of a burger then you have to try the Whisky River BBQ Chicken Wrap(SOOOOO GOOOD!!!). Don't be fooled by its title of "wrap", it has juicy chicken strips, tangy bbq ranch sauce, cheese, and tortilla strips. Oh, and don't forget the french fries are BOTTOMLESS!!!! Yup! They also have a full bar with lots of specialty drinks. My favorite non-alcoholic drinks is the FRECKLED LEMONADE(lemonade with real strawberries), gotta try it.......also bottomless!
Service was ok. Nothing to complain about. Waited 15 minutes to get seated which wasn't bad being it was a work day.
I ordered the Banzai burger which was not bad.
My companion ordered the Whiskey burger. Not good. There was something missing or maybe the ingredients didn't go well together.
Fries were just ok. Kind of over salted like another yelper mentioned. I really prefer the burgers and fries at Carl's Jr.
This was my first time at any Red Robins so I came in expecting a pretty good burger. I wasn't wowed. It was just ok.
First and last time.
If you're gonna get a burger though I guess I would recommend a Banzai burger.
We were seated very quickly on a saturday night even though the place was pretty filled. The water came fast and we started off with Just-in quesidillas for appetizer. It was really good with a chewiness, and it didn't seem very greasy. my bf got the garden burger and I got the BLTA croissant. my bf didn't like the burger because it wasn't very tasteful. We liked the croissant and it also came with 2 slices of melon. Both our entrees came with steak-fries. The food came pretty fast and the prices were decent! I would come back again
Steak fries are heavenly. BOTTOMLESS steak fries are pure bliss.
When I was growing up my grandpa would fry steak fries while my mom made steak. That was one of my favorite dinners. It's kinda odd, like every time I eat steak fries a piece of my grandpa is still with me. I dunno.
Just to reiterate, I love these steak fries. The outside is so crunchy and the inside is so pillowy soft. Sprinkle a little of their Red Robin spice and dip then in an even mixture of ketchup (or is it catsup?) and ranch. That's the ticket right there.
Besides the steak fries (which are great did I mention that?), I usually get the croissant club. A moist croissant, avocado, bacon, turkey, tomatoes and lettuce. You can't go wrong.
The freckled lemonade / strawberry lemonade is also nice. There are big pieces of strawberries, and yes, it is refillable too.
I tried the Sliders this past week. They remind me of white castle, though I've never had a white castle burger. Also, I like the litte nascar cut out on the table, kinda cute. The burgers are ok, there are cruchy onion strings and you could order it medium or well done. It only comes with 3 onion rings though. Thank goodness I snacked on my wife's steak fries. Here's to you grandpa!

This place has mediocre food and TERRIBLE SERVICE!
They didn't make my order right and it was so simple. All I wanted was NO ONIONS!! I even told our server (Brittany) twice, so she'd make sure with the cooks that I want no onions. It's so annoying when people can't do simple things. They're lucky that I was way too tired to have a bitch fit. Another downside, their service is SUPER SLOW!!! Seriously, it took our server 15min. to bring us our drinks. wtf?!
I really dont suggest coming here, unless it's for take-out and if you have patience.
I do not get the hype about this place. I have eaten here several times with friends and I just have never been impressed. I would rather go to Chili's any day because their burgers are so much better. The food tastes greasy to me and just very heavy in my stomach. The best thing about this place is their freckled lemonade (strawberry lemonade).

Sometimes I feel like having a huge, greasy burger. And then I come here. I've only been a few times in actuality, but I wouldn't mind coming more often. I got no shame! It's all for the whiskey bbq burger, which comes with crispy onion strings in it... so good. Their fries are wedge cut and thick which are great as well. It seems skimpy when they bring it out, but I've never been able to finish a burger and fries in one sitting. It really is a lot of food.
Service is so-so; I've had great service and not-so-good service. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes (if that) for a table, but maybe I've never gone on a busy time of day. All in all Red Robin is where to go if you feel like over-stuffing yourself with bad food for your body... But it's worth it.
Here I go again. Reviewing chainstream American restaurants.
I hold a special place in my heart for Red Robin. When I used to skate at Eastridge, my coach would treat me to a chicken burger if I did well at practice. I don't know why she allowed me to eat this after training, but she did. (i love you kathy callan!)
That being said, I could always go for a Cali Chicken burger with steak fries and a coke. Of course at this stage of my declining metabolsim, I only eat half but I still like to get all those yummy sinful flavors once in a while. RR really makes great burgers. Meat or non Meat I think they win the overall taste test in my opinion.
Now that we have one at Rivermark (I haven't been to eastridge in 12 yrs), the BF and I come in from time to time and split a burger and fries. The waiter service is always friendly but the hosts are dumb and dumber. I always get a little annoyed when I arrive, but all that melts away once my juicy chicken burger arrives!
Sometimes (in my case, most of the time), being a victim of circumstances mean that you do are not afforded the luxury of having a full hour for lunch. Said circumstances would then force you to multi-task (read: eat lunch while working).
And while the first half of the working-while-eating exercise never changes - it invariably makes the same tap-tap-tappita-tap-tap-clank-buzz noise - I try to vary the latter half by trying out different things each time.
More often than not, the team's lunch of choice is a takeout from nearby Red Robin. And no matter how much I try to not ever order the same thing from the seemingly endless menu (it's no Cheesecake Factory storybook menu but it's still pretty comprehensive), they always are equally disappointing.
Let me see... what have I not tried?
Banzai burger? check (2 out of 10)
Chicken caesar wrap? check (2 out of 10)
French onion soup? check (1 out of 10, lose one point due to presentation)
Red rice bowl? check (1.5 out of 10 - sad-looking dry chicken breast with over-the-counter factory teriyaki sauce and medley of roast vegetable on a bed of dense steamed rice)
Waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes for a table for two? now THAT, I have not tried. I'd rather spend 2 minutes walking over to Prolific Oven and get better bang for my bucks.
Even though I am never a big fans of burgers. I had to say Red Robin was good. The sauce was especially good. I also enjoyed their seasoned fries a lot. Try them with ranch sauce and they are even better! The strawberry lemonade was better than most other places too. Service was usually fast and friendly as well.
Eh I remember liking this burger place but I went here on a Sunday night and tried the whiskey burger and was very disappointed. The burger tasted so dry! I had wanted to ask the waitress for extra BBQ sauce but she gave off that vibe as if she didn't want to be bothered. She did come back only twice...once to fill up our refills of speckled lemonade ( best strawberry lemonade ever) and to hand me my Tabasco sauce. She didn't even come back to ask if we need anything else! This place has expensive burgers its not even that great I rather would have gone to in and out instead..
I really like this place. Its kid friendly thats for sure....My daughter loves it cause there are so many things to look at and she gets a balloon....that makes her day....oh to be a child again.
Anyway their milkshakes are really good and big....they even give you the cup that they make it in besides the one that they serve it in. My friend always gets their freckled lemonade and that is really good too. I always get the blue ribbon burger which I crave from time to time and need a hamburger fix. Their bottomless fries are great too cause I share mine with my daughter who wolfs them down. The one thing I didn't like was the lettuce burger I guess I didn't read it properly cause I thought it was something different but it was basically a salad with a hunkin slab of hamburger meat. I was bummed....who wants to eat a salad when going to red robin....lol. Anyway so I like this place not only for the food but for the atmosphere.
Red Robin's food is good value for your buck.
The portions are large. If you order something with fries, you can keep getting more fries till you're stuffed. They're big cut fries and it doesn't take a lot to fill up on them.
Trying to be a bit more conscientious about food, I tried out their new apple chicken salad. Chunks of apple, grilled chicken, candied walnuts and goat cheese over big bed of mixed greens. It's accompanied with a Dijon vinaigrette. Very tasty!
Service was prompt and friendly. Our drinks were refilled without asking.
The menu is slanted towards burgers as the name would suggest, but there's enough other choices for those not in the mood for a burger and fries.

Really, this place is just fantastic.
I've only came here once and it was with my swim team so it was a big group (somewhere around 25), I'm amazed at how patient and tolerant they were for us since we were amazingly loud. It's amazing how fast they got our table too, for such a large group I would've expected it to take longer. After we sat down and got our orders, it didn't take long for us to get our food. I ordered two meals since I was famished, and I didn't regret it!
I ordered the Mac N' cheese and the Fish burger since I'm a vegetarian, and trust me they were both good. I think I favored the Mac N. cheese more than the fish burger since it also had the crushed croutons to add a touch of crispiness. I was so full, but they were both so good so I couldn't stop! I ended up sharing with the table though. They waiters never forgot the refills and were very attentive.
I was impressed with their patience when we paid our bill. Since we all paid our meals separately, we paid in cash. With a bill of around $340, we had a lot of $20 and $10 bills. Even after all that trouble they still had the patience to take pictures for us and with us. Good job guys! I'll be back for the Mac N' Cheese again!
Against my better judgment I ate here last night. I had held off on going here for a long time even though it's near our apartment, because I had bad memories of a trip to the Red Robin at the Coalinga junction off Interstate 5. But the husband kept telling me he had a good burger here a month ago and that I should really try it. Note to self: Last time you trust the husband.
I got the Santa Fe Burger for $8.99. First of all I have to say, the cheapest burger on the menu is $8.49. And that's a cheeseburger. Where's the hamburger love? I mean I know I can order a cheeseburger without the cheese but they should charge $1 less. And for $7-$8 I can get a burger at The Counter or even Chili's (which serve much better burgers).
My issues with the Santa Fe Burger:
-Except for one medium rare bite (which is what I ordered) my burger was medium well
-Meat was dry and tasteless!!!
-Poblano chile way too spicy and overwhelmed burger
Rebuttal:
The husband got the regular hamburger and declared that it was juicy. I had my doubts that it wasn't the meat that was juicy since his burger was loaded with ketchup and pickle relish.
I did like my steak fries. However, they were a bit oversalted. I would have liked to have used the paprika-y Red Robin spice mix on them (a bottle is on every table), but the main ingredient on that was salt, and the last thing my burger needed was more salt.
Good things about Red Robin:
-Really nice server
-Unlimited (not that you'll need them) fries

Love this place! Tried it for the first time the other day, amazing! Awesome food, fantastic waitress, friendly staff, yummy milkshakes, great location. What more is there to say?
*Update* Have to lower the stars on my review. The other day I told my co-workers how great this place is, so the boss man paid for a to go lunch - went and picked it up, and half the order was completely wrong! And we went over the order more than once over the phone.
They used to be really good, but last few times I've been, the food wasn't so great. On my last trip, the onion strings were incredibly greasy (second time that's happened) and the burger was cold. Prices seem to keep going up too. Service quality varies.
If you're going to go, the onion ring tower is always good and the milkshakes are yummy.
Every now and again, you have to jump off the (somewhat) healthy train and head to Lardville for a slap up meal.
Well, this was one of those occasions. A friend just got in from out of town and he isn't the most adventurous diner on the planet and this place was near his hotel and Lardville sounded like a cool rest stop to me.
First issue of course, is finding a parking spot at Rivermark. We pull into the parking lot and immediately there's an empty space, right outside too - a sure sign we needed a Lardville stamp in our passports.
In we go, get seated and peruse the oversized menu. I decided on the Whiskey River BBQ Burger (or something like that) - there was even a photo of it on the menu looking juicy and delicious. My friend went with some chicken sandwich or other that came with garlic fries.
Our attentive server arrived and took our order and not too long after, the food arrived. The first impression was that the burger looked pretty close to the photo on the menu (as opposed to your typical fast food burger that looks like Billy Mays took the original, put it in a space bag, vacuumed the life out of it and then handed it over) - I nearly had to unhinge my jaw to get it in - and it tasted as good as it looked. The chicken sandwich was deemed tasty too.
Our drinks were refilled and our conversation turned to ratings web sites including, obviously, Yelp. Unfortunately, mid conversation the "Happy Birthday" crowd arrived to serenade (and I use that term very loosely) people at the next table.
So we had a curtain of servers with their backs to us all singing (well, sort of) and clapping very loudly for what seemed like a very long time - as I looked around the restaurant during this cacophony I noticed a print of that famous head shot of Janet Leigh screaming in the shower - I know just how she felt. When the noise finally subsided and we resumed our ratings conversation I told my dining companion "that just cost 'em two stars" - but in reality it only cost them one.
The other was lost for the fries that were rather dry and over salty.

Had a great time here with a big group tonight! They sat us promptly. Our server was excellent. My friend and I shared a salad and burger and we got our dishes already split. It was so nice of them and very convenient for us!
Love their unlimited steak fries. Yummmmy!
Freckled lemonade (strawberry lemonade) is yummy but a bit steep in price, $3.99. But it is also bottomless so totally worth it. I just took a few sips from my husband's :P
Good service, good food. Standard good quality chain food with lots of burger selections. Gotta love the endless steak fries. I've also had their Caesar chicken salad wrap and soups, which were both good. Balloons for the kids.
We went there at 7pm on a Friday night with a party of 9 and I thought the wait would be absurd, but we got seated within15 minutes, after being told it might be twenty. Take that, Cheesecake Factory.
However, I never thought there could be a more fucked up parking lot than Union Landing. I don't know what these parking lot designers are thinking...

My boyfriend likes this place but I'm not too crazy about it because... well, I'm a vegetarian.
There is an extremely limited list of vegetarian plates on the menu but that's my fault for coming to an establishment that caters to meat burger eaters.
I usually get the veggie burger. simple as that. It doesn't come with cheese and they charge an extra fiddy cents so now I'll remember to keep a slice of cheese in my back pocket if I plan on dining here.
a-haha. Anyway, the spiked smoothies are pretty good here.

The burgers aren't bad and they are consistent so if you like Red Robin's food the first time you'll like it every time after that. The pot roast sandwich is pretty good. Fries aren't really my style but if you are a carb fanatic you'll like the free refills.
Parking sucks at Rivermark but you will find a spot eventually.
It'd be a decent lunchtime spot but they refuse to split checks which makes a smooth exit with "I only have $20 or plastic," having coworkers extremely difficult.

I'm usually pretty tough on giving out 5 stars for anything. I do, but they have to be exceptional. Not really perfect, but something that really makes them stand out in my head. The thing that stands out in my head at Red Robin? Unlimited steak fries!! And when you put that Red Robin seasoning on them... oh, Lord. The gluttony.
The burgers are actually part of that gluttony, too. During this visit, which happened to be my first, I had the 5-alarm burger. It was awesome! The meat was juicy and cooked to perfection and the bun held together just fine. My wife had the Whiskey BBQ burger which was just as good (even though she had it cooked well done because she's pregnant, it was still juicy). I also had the strawberry lemonade which was out of this world, but unfortunately, not $3.99 out of this world.
As with any restaurant in the Rivermark plaza, it will be tough to get parking. Especially during the weekday lunch period.

Yes, it's the Red Robin that is the same everywhere. Still a good menu, good burgers, and general restaurant to the gluttons. This particular location is insanely busy at lunch, as is everything in the Rivermark Plaza, as it's practically the only game in town.
I've not had a bad experience with their hamburgers or chicken burgers, I just don't like the horrible waits among stinky nerds with whom I refuse to identify myself.
