Red was great!
Wait staff was extremely attentive!
Entrees were delicous! Perfectly cooked meats.
Drinks were strong!
A little on the too pricey side, but it is a hotel restaurant =)

Days after my friend raving about the "Kobe Beef Burger" served here, right then and there I knew I was set out for another mission...

As the anticipation grew for about a week, my friend and I decided to pay our dues... Thursday was the day..

Very quickly (as much as I'd like to write more, I'd rather get to the main points) because you'd have to try this place for yourself to absorb how great the experience was for my friend and I.

-The ambiance and decoration of the restaurant was very upscale and nice, very pleasing to the eye
-I ordered the 18 oz Kobe Beef Burger which came with a side of fries
-Friend ordered the Pork Chops
-Waiter was very nice and respectful
-Service was excellent

The quality of the food was phenomenal, especially the hyped up Kobe Burger.  The meat was very flavorful, bite after bite.. In which at the end of my quest, only scraps of the bread and fries were left over..  The pork chops were also good..

I will most definitely come back... $63 and some change was our bill.. You be the judge..

Great service, food, and decor.

Staff was very attentive.
Food was delicious.
Decor was awesome.

Take a worthy date to this spot. Take them on a Thursday.. there's a live jazz band that plays at 7pm.

I came here for drinks after a company event, I thrive on beer not food.
Love the huge flat screen TVs at the bar.  The beers were good, and available at a decent price.  The only negative was the water that tasted like metal.  I would definitely come back to this place for golf and drinks if I lived near by.

First of all the restaurant was recently remodeled... so it looks very pretty inside. They have some booths with high dividers  that make for some nice privacy and each booth has its own small flat screen tv on the wall.  They also have out door seating which is awsome when the weather is warm.  A full bar with good drinks (I had pomegranate martinis), you can hang at the bar or go enjoy your drink while lounging around the big fire pit they have outside, but that  is not all...  there is an amazing  view of the city and the stars.

The food was delicious and the presentation was very nice but I have to admit my favorite dish was an item that  is on the salad menu but is not really a salad, its called "Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Mozzarella" its what I know as caprese, we had it as an appetizer. It has red tomato, yellow tomato (which has a delicious flavor on its own) with a special mozzarella cheese, basil and fig infused balsamic vinegar with beautiful presentation, it was so delicious I wanted seconds.

The bf chose this place to take me for my belated birthday dinner and I'd say this is one of the nicest restaurants that can be found in the area.  He made early reservations (I like having early dinners) so when we came there weren't too many other patrons.  The place filled up quickly though with both large and small parties.

Our meal started out with the Maryland jumbo lump crab cake.  The crab cakes were the perfect size paired with really good sauce.  Following the appetizer, I ordered the black bass while he ordered the special which was some kind of braised short rib.  I liked his entree better than my own because I thought the fusion of the sauces didn't taste that great.  The scallops that came with the bf's entree were amazzzing though!  They were large and perfectly seared with a lime sauce drizzled over it.  Yum!  I think that was my favorite part of both entrees.

For dessert, our server, Tom (who was VERY attentive), brought out a complimentary birthday cake.  I'm not really sure what it was.  It was a white cake/cheesecake? I really couldn't tell.  It was really fluffy and light which was a good way to end such a filling meal.

The ambiance of Red is very cool.  There are tons of TVs all over the place (seriously!).  Every table had a perfect view of at least one TV.  Even the bathrooms were decked out with TVs.

Something was up with the service that night. They weren't very friendly, but we finally got a waitress near the end that redeemed the service.

I can't comment on the food, we just came for some drinks at the bar. The last time I was here was around a year ago, and I didn't remember anything about it. Not even the tv's in the bathroom, which is pretty cool, btw.

There is a great view outside. We didn't go near the fire pit because there were too many people over there, so we got a table near the "lake" instead. It was a nice night to have drinks outside. :)

The peach martini was pretty tasty. They leave the shaker at the table with you, so you're really getting 2 servings for the price of one. At least, that's what I want to think.

The kitchen supposedly closes at 11 pm, so make sure you give yourself enough time to order appetizers if that's what you're in the mood for. I only tried a piece of a chocolate dessert and it wasn't very good. I'd rather eat at Cima than down there.

When we first walked in there was a loud girl at the bar cursing for 10 minutes straight to her drunken friends.  While they talked explicitly about their ugly thoughts and ruid references.

GHETTO GHETTO GHETTO!!!!

Don't be fooled by the supposed upscale food and plating, it is DECEIVING!
This place is supposed to have a live band but all  you get is a whole lot of drunken loud people.

I have a great palette for food and wine so I expect quality.
DONOT order steak or FISH here; the wine selection is about a 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 10.  Steak was rubbery and even if we sent it back, it was red on the inside and still rubbery and somewhat cold.  Fish was awful! They left the skin on and it was very fishy as if there was no marinade whatsoever except salt, and LOTS of it..  WE ended up getting a complimentary dessert which we refused and left.

BUT do order the lamb and their sides are meteocre..the best one would be the sweet potato fries with a sweet caramelized tangy ginger honey coating that is crisp.

The service is awful, these servers cannot even pronounce what's on the menu!  Nor do they even know what certain accompaniments are.  That's what they get for hiring minimum waged youngsters who know absolutely nothing about how important a dining experience should be, specially at a hotel restaurant..  The bartender has no experience and I have sent  my drink back 4 times only to find it wasn't ever going to be right.

Crowd is 90% Mexican on Wed-Sat after dinner hours.  Loud, juvenille and just plain ghetto. So if  you want a decent experience, have dinner early and plan to party elswhere after dinner.

Overall this is not an upscale place to dine or have drinks.  Stick to Ruth's Chris or Morton's for that.  And party in Pasadena or the Westside.

Don't bother dressing up, cause all you'll find here are short fat guys wearing tight plaid shirts and ugly  fat girls wearing dresses 10 sizes too small.

Just because its pretty:

I love the bar and the outdoor area with a giant fire pit and an awesome view.  I remember growing up in the West Co area and coming to the Sheraton, now Pacific Palm Resort, and eating at a restaurant called Top of the Brea or something like that.  Seeing the hotel now I'm amazed how wonderful it at looks.

Ok, I haven't eaten here yet but the lounge area with live Jazz and the beautiful patio will make me return.  My grey goose tonic was yummy if that helps any!

After reading a review from Erica C. and finding a good reservation with http://OpenTable.com, I decided to have dinner here.  After reading several "smabby" reviews from Hazel Q., I'm taking a literary moment that hopefully many of you will benefit from.

I made our reservations early as we both had to work early the next day, and I walked into Red a few minutes early.  When the manager saw me, he approached the host stand as I announced my reservation.  He confirmed by acknowledging me by my full name, without looking at a reservation book, First Nice Touch.

Since I had arrived early, I figured I would take a look around the place.  The manager showed me the booths near the entrance, and then took me around to the opposite side of the restaurant.  They have a full bar with several flat screens and good sound for watching the game.  While that looked great for checking out the game with friends, the room was definitely too loud for a nice dinner (even though I did want to be able to peek at the game).  The manager took me back to the booth he had held for me and then vanished...He promptly returned and let me know Andrew would be our server, and he would be with me promptly.  What I realized during the disappearing act was that the manager had slipped away to change the channel on the flat screen in the booth from some Acai berry commercial to the Steelers game!  Second Nice Touch.

With a manhattan in hand, and some really good football to watch while waiting, we ordered the "soup of the moment", which I thought was a crafty attempt to phrase "whatever we might have left over..."   Andrew told us it was clam chowder, but when he was in the kitchen he overheard they were running low so he wanted to double check... (I'm thinking "GREAT", because clam chowder is a staple for FRIDAYS, and we were having dinner on SUNDAY!)  Andrew returned to tell us the soup had changed to a "chicken autumn chowder"...  I think "H'mmm, low on the chowder, throw some chicken and rice in there, damn, that's what I'd do if I was...wait, I don't work there..."  We decide to try the soup and we were pleasantly surprised.  Not too rich and very flavorful, obviously no mish mosh going on here.  Third Nice Touch.

I felt like a caesar salad, and offered to share it.  When it arrived, Andrew had it sent on two separate plates, and the other manager served it with cracked pepper (I hate when they show up without it, they're carrying your salad, it's not like they can't see it's a salad!)  The second manager asked us if we were enjoying our dinner, and if there was anything we needed to let him know.  Fourth Nice Touch.

When the entrees arrived, we were very impressed, very.  Double-Cut Pork Chop and Half Rack Colorado Lamb, both excellent.  The lamb is the best I have had in several outings, or when I prepare it myself at home.  Nice thick chops, all evenly cut and prepared to the requested temperature, medium rare.  The chef strolled out a few minutes in to check on our meals, and on the service. Fifth Nice Touch.

Too full for dessert, we walked through the restaurant.  The game was over and it looked like business as usual for the restaurant portion, with several seats available at the bar as the game was over.  We took a walk around "Celebration Lake", a quiet area in the evening, perfect for a romantic evening dinner or cocktails.  The fire pit and view from the surrounding areas were an excellent way to finish the evening.  Sixth Nice Touch.

As a pointer,  when you drive up,  park on the lower level to the right, you're right at your car with no valet parking and closer than if you valet and walk down the escalator to the restaurant.

RED is a fairly new restaurant...first opened in May of 2008. RED has the most romantic outdoor dining patio in the San Gabriel area. The outdoor Patio is called "Celebration Lake" and it overlooks the San Gabriel Mountains. The patio is surrounded by a beautiful lake and a huge fire pit with comfortable seatings. What a lovely area and impressive views!

The food is very good...I've had lunch and dinner here many times and have tried many different things on the menu. A few of my favorite: Tuna Tar Tar is SOO delicious! I dont even like tuna by itself all that much (unless its sushi) but the Tuna Tar Tar here completely changed my mind about tuna. Tastes very fresh and comes with crackers. The sweet potato fries here are to die for...i can eat it all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've had many type of sweet potato fries and RED makes the BEST hands down! I've had the Kobe burgers a couple of times and i like it...but i am not a huge fan of it since i am not a huge fans of burgers in general.

The Jasmine Creme-Brulee is heaven...not to mention the banana spring-rolls yummie! (and i dont even like bananas) All the deserts are delicious...

Overall RED is a beautiful restaurant with beautiful views inside a beautiful resort. what else can you ask for?

My brother gave me heads up about this new restaurant/bar that opened up at the newly renovated Pacific Palms Resort Hotel in the City of Industry. I checked out their website and was impressed with the pictures of the place and decided to check it out last night. I called up some friends to meet up with me and catch the Laker/Celtics game 1 over here.

Walking into the restaurant felt like being in some fancy posh venue in Vegas or a hip, trendy bar in Hollywood. The decor and lighting design is very contemporary and modern. I was greeted by the friendly hostess that directed me to the bar towards the back of the room. The bar area itself isn't too big, but big enough for the thirty or so Laker fans (and about 5 Celtic fans) that gathered around the bar area. Behind the fully stocked bar are two brand spanking new 50" LCD tv's that broadcasted the game, and a few more smaller LCD tv's around the bar area. They even have LCD tv's in the restroom mirrors! Now I gotta get me one of those in my bathroom! They also have a pool table next to the bar, and the restaurant area is adjacent to it as well. There's also a huge patio with seats and a fire pit, that overlooks the golf course...

The drinks and appetizers are good, and I can't wait to come back and try their lunch or dinner entrees some other day. The staff is friendly and the vibe of the place is incredible. Glad to say that I've discovered yet another great hang out that's less than 10 minutes away from my house!

*Lunch Review Only*

Red serves up one of the best lunches ever. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a couple of very friendly and attractive hostesses. They take some of your info down probably to keep you as a potential contact for promotions.

We were escorted to our booth next to a very extensive looking wine fridge. The booth setup felt like you walked into a very high end restaurant. Each booth has its own small flat screen. Our waitress said that she'd be right back to take our drink orders. I guess one of the managers wanted us to be taken care of so he asked another waiter to immediately take our drink order. Delicious warm bread is served with your meal. Nice.

(See pics of food. Sorry, had to use my phone)
My client ordered the Red Steak Burger with regular fries and I had the Red Kobe Burger served with Sweet Potato fries. We wanted to try both so we tried each other's burgers. I took a big bite out of my Kobe Burger.........I was in heaven. Order this medium. The steak burger was good too, but a little messy. The Kobe was the best.

The sweet potato fries were perfectly fried with a light honey glaze. mmmmmm.

The service was excellent, though at times, a little carried away. We were there for about 45 minutes eating. I think we were asked by 4 different people on how we were and how was the food at least 8 times. I'm sure they are trying to make a good impression. I was impressed.

The prices here are quite reasonable considering the location and the quality of the meal. This lunch probably will set you back $40 for two. It's the ideal place to take your clients.

The bar is nicely decorated and looks like a cool hang out spot. I'll definitely be back to try out the happy hour and the dinner menu. So this review is To Be Continued!

Even though the lounge was nice, I wasn't too fond of the kids running around the area. It's a lounge for crying out loud. I don't want to see elemntary / jr high kids at a lounge.

The drinks were meh. I had a champagne cocktail and the champagne was flat. I was told that the beer was nice and cold though.

Would I go back there again? Only if it's free.

I really would have like to give this restaurant a higher rating because our party like the decor and the place feels good.  We sat inside, but the patio outside is nice w/ a view.  Despite the 10 min wait at the lounge area, the service is pretty good (our server is really nice).

Now the food:  OMG!  I'm sorry to say this, but they need a new chef!  Everyone at the table ordered beef.  This is what we had:

Prime Rib (somewhat decent)
Porthouse House (so-so)
Petite Filet (it was so over cooked...taste like well done or beyond that!  I almost send it back, but didn't want to wait)
Sauces:  Tried most the steak sauce they offer, but didn't like any of 'em.
Sides:  Garlic fries, Garlic noodle, Cream Corn, Cream Spinach.  It cost $6 each, and none of them were good.
Lobster Bisque (looks good, taste the opposite)
Cappucino (it was ok, really bitter tho)

The tap came out to about $300 w/ tax and tips.  For $50/person I expect better quality food than what we had.

My bff brought me here to console a tiny tini mini case of broken heart syndrome. After two of their signature flirtini's I was under breath taking view of a clear starlight sky, and subconsciously swaying to some live jazz.

"One more round please.." (what heart break?)

It still amazes me how they've made the locals (such as myself) feel the out-of-the city experience. Not at all what I've expected, I've been to the buffet. The lounge truly matches and ups the star count for pacific palms.

suggestions:
*chocolate souffle
*flirtinis
*dirty martinis
*mojitos
*kobe burger with the chili ketchup!

Feels like you're out somewhere trendy and posh like Beverly Hills but you're not!  You're in the City of Industry homie!!!

Pacific Palms Resort hotel is one of the nicest hotels in this area.  If you golf you know the place they got a beautiful golf course there and now they just opened a brand new spa!

Red Steakhouse will open its door to the public on May 8th 2008.

I went last night for a private preview dinner and cocktail party and I was more than impressed I was blown away!

They have a bar stocked w/ alchohal...the interior design is hip and cool.  Even the bathroom's nice- they have a like this hologram tv showing through the mirrors so you're watching tv as you wash up!

Outside plenty of seats and they have this big fire pit where you can sit and drink or smoke.

We had mini kobe burgers, lobster appetizers, fried mac n' cheese w/ mushroom sauce, some asian calamari stir fry and chocolate strawberries.  *DROOL SESSION*

Drank lots of sake martini's...order their signature Red martini it's strong but yummy =)

Whether you go on a date or with a group of friends this place is gonna be perfect to chill and have fun at.

I don't know the cost because everything was free but try it out!

They get 5 for service because the staff was super friendly and super accommodating. Minus 2 stars for the food. The portions were very small, and when I order garlic noodles I don't expect Top Ramen. True story! It was Ramen noodles sprinkled with black sesame seeds and had absolutely no flavor. I mean damn, if I am going to pay 12 bucks for Top Ramen at least sprinkle the flavor packet on top!

We came here after a round of golf to watch the Lakers during the Western Conference and have a couple drinks.
The bar was crowded with people watching the game and baseball on the other screens. Yes. Many televisions here.
The service was a little slow, but the server, she was way cool.
The best thing of all was that they had Green Flash IPA on tap.
Oh yeah, it's on. Finally! Really good beer. Thank the Beer-gods.

Theres is also a fairly large patio(heated) to dine and hang out on over looking the valley and the putting green. Very cool.

I don't like the decor much. Very much over done, and not "red" at all.
More like gold, purple and other tacky combos. The place looks more like those high end lame-ass clubs, where the idiots with too much money go to pose.
The food that was going to the other customers looked and smelled good. I have to try some of it the next time I'm golfing up that way.

So yeah.
The 4 stars is really for the server and the fine Green Flash IPA.

The best way to sum up this Bar and Grill is the insane view!   Honestly for the San Gabriel Valley it blows everything out of the water!

I agree that it is pricey and the food can be inconsistant, but they are brand new and I expect many changes to come.

The staff was sweet and very interested in my suggestions.

Cons:
Food was Half Half (Some came out good. Some very bad. I believe this has to do with the fact that they're a new restaurant. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again in a few months to see how they do and I re-review them then.)

A group of friends and I recently came here to meet for drinks before heading on for a night of dancing.  Had I known where we'd end up (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), I'da said that we should've just stayed at the bar at Red and call it a night.  Though the bar was empty, save a few couples, it was a nice cozy place and big enough to hold all of us and not feel tight at all.  The outdoor area of Red is GORGEOUS.  It's a perfect place for a date because you can sit outside high atop the San Gabriel Valley and forget about what is down below.  There is a GINORMOUS fire pit with comfortable seating all around where groups or couples can sit and have a bit of privacy and enjoy each other.  By the time we got there, it looked as though diners were done eating and the place had begun to clear out.  I couldn't hear any music playing so a bit of ambience was missing this night. I hear they usually have music and it's a bit more crowded so I can see that on a night like that it would be fun.  They apparently have events on certain nights that bring in the crowds.  The indoor bar area has flat screens along the back wall, so it would be perfect to catch some MNF.  Some of the booths in the restaurant area also had their own flat screens.  The restrooms were very clean and modern and each mirror above the sink had a hologram-type of television within the mirror.  Kinda cool.

I would come back here on a night when more was going on and definitely come with a group.

came for drinks and just to hang out with friends to celebrate a birthday. the decor is really nice.  the outside patio area is gorgeous! i love the outdoor firepit! the staff was really nice and accomodating to our big group.  they have lychee martinis! their signature martini (dont remember the name) is pretty good too....they put dry ice in it!

the only thing i didnt like was the music they were playing.  i understand its a lounge but seriously, for a saturday night, they can at least bring it up a notch.

5 stars? Really??

The restaurant has potential to do well.

Things I really did not like:
-You can see the bar (and the rowdy drunk folks) from the dining area. The tables that were a little separated from the bar had mini televisions installed into the walls (at each table). Some people may like this, but I was hoping for a quiet, classy dinner.
-We waited for about 10 minutes to get seated...I'm fine waiting a little bit but it was pretty awkward how they made us wait - they first walked us to the tables and then made us wait in the middle of the restaurant. So it was just us, standing around, while everyone around us were seated and eating.
-The burrata salad was sallllllty. The heirloom tomatoes were crunchy b/c of all the sea salt they had on it. Yeah, crunchy tomatoes.
-The sea bass was way overcooked. What a waste of a beautiful fish.
-They brought out my side of sweet potato fries 10 minutes AFTER we finished our meal. We had to ask for it twice and the second time we asked, our server said, "It's coming out NOW," - and then we waited another 5 minutes.
-We were served by about 4 people. Interesting.
-They gave me the check but forgot to give me a pen. Waited another 5 minutes for the pen.

Things I liked:
-The decor
-The last server we had, he was charming and made fun of himself. He apologized a lot as well.
-We were able to walk around outdoors after our meal - pretty pond and a little island with a fire pit

Things I loved:
-The best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Towards the end of my dining experience, I was stuffed and was pretty peeved b/c of the poor service, but when they brought out the plate of fries, I devoured it. I felt like a balloon afterwards but it was worth it. MMMMmmmmmm. I would come back for those fries.

I understand it's still a fairly new restaurant with fairly new staff. I'm willing to try it again (for the fries!).

Came here on a Thursday night with friends.  It's a very nice place to relax and hang out...it's right across from the golf green.  The restaurant is nicely decorated in a modern way...restrooms are super nice.  We were seated outside where a jazz band played live music.  The patio had a BBQ pit where you can sit around and chat, torches that lined the patio and a calming little shallow lake.

The food was pretty good here.  A bit pricey but it's quality food.  The tuna tartare was delicious...slightly spicy served with sesame crackers/flat bread.  The petite filet was good...seared with a light salty crust, topped with a single roasted baby onion.  I liked the Oysters Rockefeller but it was 3 for $12!!  The Tomato & Burrata Mozzarella salad was interesting ($14)...can't really say I like the texture of fresh mozzarella.  The sweet potato fries was awesome ($6).  Their drinks are good too...not watered down but not too strong (they give you the shaker for martinis = 1 1/2 glass).  Only thing I didn't like was they clean up your table too fast without really asking if you're finished.  If you have a little bit left of your food or drink, guard it if you don't want it taken away.  Other than that, the service was extremely friendly...the manager came by to greet all of us.  If you want to sit on the patio, it's a good idea to make a reservation.

I'm so disappointed.
After reading all the positive reviews about this place my boy and I decided to come here hoping for a romantic dinner that just didn't go so well...

(This review is based on dinner)
Arrived around 7:40 the place was about half filled, the restaurant is ALOT smaller than I expected, there was about 10 tables out on the patio, 10 indoor and a bar. That's it.  There was no hostess up front so we stood there until the manager came over and seated us. We were told that our server will be right with us then we waited 10 minutes with no water and no menu.
So we finally got our drinks and placed our order, and this is when the disappointment grew..

we ordered:
Tres ceviches  with scallop, shrimp, and snappers- sounds really delicious right? It was SOO fishy.. and I think they didn't use fresh citrus juice because I keep tasting this unpleasant sharp acid taste that you get from those bottled lemon juice (reminds me of college days when I was poor and I was cheap with my cocktails..) . Anyways, even the acid can't cover the foul fish smell.. AVOID if you can.
Lobster Bisque with some sort of foam-  I read foam and I got excited. I wanna see what it would do do to an ordinary lobster bisque. This is what it did: It gave the soup an airy texture and leaves a mouth full of shellfish after taste. It was bland, under seasoned, and you would think for $9 a cup they'd attempt to make it look prettier.. Nope. just plain o' soup cup with no garnish..
Heirloom tomato with burrata mozzarella: this was a decent dish, I enjoyed it. The fig infused balsamic reduction was just a little too sweet for my taste, but I like acid so I think it's a wonderful dish.
Prime Rib with green peppercorn sauce plus sautéed wild mushroom and prosciutto  wrapped asparagus- decent prime rib.. we asked for medium rare but got medium/medium well. The green peppercorn sauce was superb! But the two sides were such a miss! The wild mushroom was just garlic sauteed "mu er" (i think it's called cloud ear or wood ear) I hate that thing! I used to pick it out of my plate when I was young.. it's like.. crunchy and tasteless. urgh gross! The proscuitto wrapped asparagus was sooo salty.. all i tasted was salt.

So 2 stars for slow service, average/below average food, dirty table cloth.

Outdoor patio looks great at night with the fire pit and music. Manager told was that they have Jazz nights on Thurs with live band and they will have more events including wine and food pairing and cigar nights in the future. Also, the bar looks a lot more fun than the dining area. I probably won't return for dinner but I don't mind grabbing a drink at either the bar or the patio area.
p.s. If you walk down the walkway pass the pool area there's a great spot (where the train is?) for a view of the city.

I ate here when the restaurant first opened and I can tell you first hand that the service and food have only gotten better. Don't mind the reviews from earlier about the food not meeting quality...they've stepped their game up. This place is clean, beautiful and nothing in the area can compete. Try the rib eye or lamb...trust me you'll be back.

Might get a bit loud if any games are on ( the bar has some big freaking tv's) so ask for a booth near the wine racks if you want something a bit more low key.

Nice decor, decent service, and great scenery.  Food is just straight out TERRIBLE, for the price we're paying it's totally not worth it.  "lobster bisque" nasty, "steak sauce" very average, I end up asking for A1,  "creme corn" absolutely no comparision to Lawrys.  One star for the decor/scenery and one star for the decent service.

Anticipated the opening of RED and the revamping of the Pacific Palms . I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The place looked a lot better than it did before. The ambiance was great. So as I was being seated, the host kindly briefed me on the reconstruction of the place, showed us around (patio & bar) and was extremely welcoming. However, when I asked her who the executive chef was, she was not sure...the name basically "slipped her mind". This was a red flag for me.
Server was extremely knowledgeable of the items on the menu if you consider repeatedly using words such as "tender and flavorful" as a tactic to get guests to order certain items. I was not impressed. My fish came out bland and I was disappointed. Ordered Japanese Yam as a side and it was also lacking something. Plates weren't cleared before each course and the servers and runners just seem to lack experience, not being able to clear plates at once but taking couple trips carrying only one plate in each hand.
I must add that the dessert that I ordered, the dessert trio sampler, the Creme Brulee was curdled. It looked like scrambled eggs instead of a baked custard. The attempt to make RED an upscale dining experience is a decent attempt but needs a lot of work.
