Not bad for a nice expensive dinner. Plenty of parking because it's inside a hotel. Got seated right away without reservations. It was a Friday night too. The booths are large and have a small LCD TV's. I didn't come to watch TV though. It's a very modern looking place. Very classy and impressive. There was a special Winter 4 course dinner when we were there. It was soup, appetizer, entree and dessert for like $50 a person. Everything came out hot and tasted great. Like seriously, it was good! The service was excellent. You pretty much don't even have to ask for refills. The grand total for dinner and 2 alcoholic drinks was about $130. Not too bad. I will eat here again any day.

So here's another place that wants to be a big boy "not bob's" restaurant and come  off as chic and trendy but fails to bring it.
Me blessed Mother turned 84 and I needed somewhere close to Hacienda Heights to take her for her birthday. "Yay Mom!"
Checked on open table and Red came up. My mom "bless her heart" dug what she had but she's pretty easy.
Without going in to much detail, the food was ok. Nothing exciting but it was passable. One note: We tried the tempura short ribs and they were pretty blah. The meat was not seasoned or if it was it was so mild it left no impression and the meat to tempura ratio was off or maybe this just isn't meant to be. It did not feel good in your mouth.
I had the lamb which was very good, the potato side was boring and bland and the mac n cheese ok but again nothing great.
My big impression is that they need new floor staff management. Our waitress was sweet and atentive but did not seem very knowledgeable and the server seemed down right pissed to be there. Train your peeps Red.
If you are going to charge $ like the big boys you need to produce like the big boys.
Bottom line. I don't think I'd go back for dinner. Possibly drinks. Maybe.

The first time I ate here (for dinner) I had the roasted white corn & lobster bisque, which was great. I also tried the tempura rock shrimp which I enjoyed as well.

The next time I went here, I had the lunch menu. I don't recommend the shrimp pasta dish.

The Kobe burger is the only thing you should try here.

After several visits, this place deserves a solid 3.  The prices say it's a five star restaurant, but the service and food quality doesn't.
    Come here if:
-you're a local, need a decent steak, but don't want to drive too far.
-you want to annihilate your stomach lining with a massive Kobe burger.
-you want to have a few drinks in a quiet, relaxed environment.

Patrons be aware, what you have from their brunch is not worth what you are paying for.   My family was there last week and everyone was very disappointed.

Under the new ownership, they removed all the food where you normally get from the patio (i.e. Dim-Sum, lamb chop, and sushi), and roasted beef.  To accommodate the lost they put few pasta in the menu.  Dessert section was also significantly reduced.  We spent almost $500 for the food people can get from Denny's.

They also had new manager, however, she didn't seem to be on track for the position.  Service from other people were very friendly.

We've already told the manage we wouldn't be back there again.

I'm a fan of the bar because it is close.  The prices are not cheap but at least you don't feel like somebody is about to mug you.  The restaurant is overpriced but good.  Had the Prime Rib and considering that it was in Industry it was good.

I got engaged and we ate here (because he asked at Pacific Palms!) with a bunch of friends.

I don't eat beef but the best bang for your buck if you do is the Kobe Burger... TWO people could eat that and not finish it.  $22

I got the salmon but it was but salty... it was alright. I felt like I could had gotten the same thing but for cheaper at another place but it's at a fancy place.

    SERVICE:
Slow... very slow. We didn't get our food til about half an hour... and my friends got us a cake and no one helped cut or serve it... I dunno if they should had but it'd be nice to be told that if they weren't. They just left it on the table (we had them fridge it).

    PRICE:
Overpriced but the best deal was the Kobe Burger. Share it.

    AMBIANCE:
PRETTY. You pay for the scenery.

    LOCATION:

    HORRIBLE service!

They should NOT be in the restaurant business at all.
They cannot even make and sell a simple cup of coffee.
    Good grief!

We needed TWO cups of coffee to go---it took 20 minutes of standing around at  the counter waiting ...to get it.
And when it came, the waiter set it on a different counter from where we stood and pointed to the cups of coffee, indicating to us, if you want it, you have to "come here and get it" .....

Not only that, he only brought a very small little pitcher (no more than 1 oz) of cream--NO spoons, NO stirrers.

We asked for more cream and also a spoon/ stirrer---he just laughed and said "yah...that would be helpful (indicating that a spoon would be helpful).

When he came back after several minutes with yet another very very small, this time a tiny little cup like what little girls use to play tea party of cream. That's OK and acceptable.

    BUT....WHERE's the spoon or stirrer?

He threw down the cream and walked away and very loudly said ---the coffee is $3 a cup. There was NO BILL, no RECEIPTS given.
We paid him at yet another different counter and guess what?
He did not put the coffee money into the cash register---BUT IN HIS OWN POCKET!

The coffee he served was COLD, not the right temperature and it tasted like BURNT coffee from the morning before.....

GOOD GRIEF---how can a rated hotel serve COLD, BURNT COFFEE AND CHARGE YOUR CUSTOMERS $3 A CUP AND HAVE THE WAITER POCKET THE MONEY FOR HIMSELF.

Do you not know about SERVICE?
About the quality of food and drinks you serve?
You should send all your employees in this restaurant to be retrained.

    DEFINITELY WILL NOT RECOMMEND!
Don't waste your money here---not even for a basic cup of coffee.

I have been here over a dozen times for meetings or casual dinners. Come to think of it I was there their first week open when the service and confusion was at it's absolute worst. Unfortunately the service has not gotten much better through the years, I would not say that all the servers are bad but 4 out of 6 times the service is horrible. At times I don't even feel like leaving a tip, and I normally tip 18%.  The confusion is still there as well, however I blame most of that on management.  This would all be acceptable if the food is good but it's mediocre at best. I am now back to Cima upstairs.

There is one incident that I will point out. Last summer I took my 4 year daughter out for desserts and the management would not allow us to sit at a table inside or outside unless we were going to have dinner. I would understand this if there was a long wait, however 85% of the tables were empty and it was 7:30pm, well past dinner time. My little girl want to stay to listen to the Jazz band so after much deliberation they put me at the fire pit next to a bunch of smokers!!!  I will not going back to Red even though I tried to support them, since they opened; with outrageously over priced business dinners and casual dining with the family. Like I said earlier, if you must dine at the Palms, go to Cima. If you want good service and similar style food go to The Cat and the Custard Cup or Seta if you live in this area.

    Shame on this place!!!

This place is great for summer alfresco happy hours.  They have giant outdoor fire pits and seating areas that are so comfortable to lounge around.  The landscaping and water features are pretty attractive and well manicured.  The only draw back is that at night, you need some tiki torches to illuminate and the staff can be lackadaisical about getting those for you.

The bar food is tasty as well.  Our nachos, onion rings and fried chicken were all good but a lot of people reached for quick seconds of the bites of chicken.

I'm really torn on this place...3 1/2 stars, maybe???...

4 stars on ambience and city view
3 stars for appetizer and dessert
    3 stars for live music

3 stars for service - our host was really trying, but I think she's new. They gave us free dessert for messing up badly.  Starting from our appetizer - gave us the wrong one and the replacement took so long. It was not a busy night (3 tables out in the patio, and some people by the fire pit), but our food  and check took even longer than the appetizer!

3 stars for food - the appetizer and dessert were good, but the main dishes killed the whole rating down to 3 stars. With the price, I'd rather go to Lawry's, Ruth Chris, Spagos, Spaghettini - Seal Beach or any other restaurants on my reviews. We had prime rib and pork braised seafood risotto. They have to make a better prime rib...really, really. The risotto was ok, creamy as it should be.

I would probably go back for the view, music, appetizers...bar, "kickback..,hangout", but will for sure have dinner some other place.

The services is terrible.  The waiters and waitresses would ignored you, especially when you ask them to turn on the heater at the fireplace or the courtyard.

Moreover, they don't serve the mix drinks with the shakers as promised.  Bad bad bad. We are really unhappy about their services to the guess.  But it is a relaxing view.

The ambiance here is great.  I really liked the decor and the setup.  The service was extremely lacking.  No water refills unless we flagged down the waiter and asked.  I split the kobe burger with my friend--this thing is huge--must share.  The bread was dry and seemed like it wasn't fresh at all--a few days out for sure.  My other friend got the rib-eye which was overcooked.  I won't be back on account of the poor service and food quality.

A steak is a steak no matter where you go. So long as its fresh and top grade the only place a steak can easily go wrong is in the kitchen and when you go to a restaurant and they consistantly hit their mark on something as vulderable to mistakes as a simple steak... that tells you something about a Chef and how he controls the line. Asides from that all the other items come out perfectly.

In my 8 years of professional fine dining experience in luxory hospitality streching from Vivace inside the Four Seasons Aviara to The Grill at Pelican Hill Resort, I must say that what can make or break a dining experience is the SERVICE. When it comes to fine dining, great service can always make up for ok food but great food will never make up for crapy service.

Now asides from the hostess never making eye contact with me and 1 bartenders' lack of people skills (hence the 4 stars), everybody else is on point from the server knowing the menu item by item, the Matre d' doing his rounds and the their above par wine knowledge.

Little things about service have been hammered into me from my work experience that I try to shake off when Im not at work but cant help it and the staff at Red never let me down. I even get a hot coffee cup before they put coffee in it but not that it matters... its small things like that that make me smile. Its called paying attention to details. Bravo.

So I covered kitchen dicipline and service. Lets move on to decor. The lighting is perfect. Well lit by the ilumitating bartop and nice and soft where the booths are. And lets not forget that there are TVs everywhere so if the wife wants a nice dinner and I cant miss the Lake show, we're going to Red. Outside is gorgeous too from the view over looking the valley to the San Gabriel mountains and the nice big fire pit where I usually sit to enjoy my Scotch. Even the varrio looks peacefull at night (locals will understand).

To sum up my review, I really enjoy this place. About twice a month I'll be here either dining with friends and family or enjoying a quiet evening by myself or a buddy around the firepit with a glass of Glen 12.

    Bravo!

I hadn't really been back here since it changed to Pacific Palms from the old Sheraton.  Wow, what a makeover.  The whole hotel and restaurant emits a cool hip vibe and not one of old duffers.  A group of friends had come to watch Monday night football and just have some drinks and maybe a bite to eat.

The lay out a bunch of tables next to the pool they have here and set up a couple of big outdoor screens and multiple LCDs that you can watch the game on.  The only thing I wish was that they have different games on the screens.  The World Series was on and they were only playing it inside in the bar area.

In addition to the nice outdoor atmosphere, they have a mini buffet area that you can get some quick bites - hot dog, burgers, tacos, nachos, but the quality is far above your standard bar food fare. And for only $14, what a deal it was.  They have several types of wieners so you can get your sausage fest on.  The hotdog bun is also one of the best I've had - a cross between Hawaiian bread and a brioche, real buttery and toasted to perfection.  You can also opt for items from the restaurant if you like.  We ordered the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream and it was so-so.  Canned peaches sometimes detract from the whole thing.

Service was below par and there was a bit of confusion as to who was our waitress.  They would come to our table and ask if we had been helped and we said no. But then they never came back.  This was a minor inconvenience since they have an outdoor bar stand that we opened up a tab with.  I think that is what threw them off - since we already had drinks, they all thought that someone was already helping us.

The bartender also makes a mean midori sour.  I know, it is a bit oxymoronic to use the word mean with a drink that is a total girly drink.  But my wife loves it.  Ok, I lied about that part too, it was for me.  But it was one of the best midori sours I have had.  I had to chase it with beer in order to bring back my testosterone levels.

We definitely enjoyed our time here and I wish that I had come hungrier so I could enjoy the food more.  I think if the service gets more up to snuff, then it will definitely 4 star worthy.

Originally my girlfriend and I were going to Benihana for lunch, but we arrived at 2:05 and they stopped serving lunch at 2:00, so we decided to yelp out another nice place for lunch. We saw RED Restaurant and Bar and read they got some mixed reviews, but we decided to give them a shot. We arrived at around 2:20 and the place was just gorgeous, but the place was almost empty. The hostess welcomely greeted us and seated us down in a booth. The booths were VERY COMFORTABLE and much relaxing. There was a bountiful of space and there was even a mini-tv on the wall inside our booth. Our waiter came and he was very nice. We ordered the Tempura Shrimp appetizer, the Steak, and the Kobe Beef Burger with truffle fries. The shrimp was amazingly made and fresh, and the sauce and salad together with the shrimp was delicious. The steak, initially, was cooked rare, but we asked for medium-well, so we asked them to grill it a bit more, and afterwards it was just perfect. The kobe beef burger was HUGE and I could barely finish half of it. I loved the truffle fries also and highly recommend it :] Overall the food was great, the service was awesome, and I would come here again. I don't understand why some people gave it lower stars, but I believe they deserve this 5 stars! :D

Came here for Valentine's Day, and was pleasantly surprised when we got seated at our exact reservation time.

The restaurant is inside the hotel, and is in close proximity to the parking lot.  The venue itself is clean and pretty fancy.  The manager came around the tables asking if everything was ok, which always shows that a restaurant does make an effort in service.

The outside is beautiful, with a fire pit and a nice view with comfortable outdoor patio furniture.

As for the food, this is where all the stars were deducted.  There was a set menu for Valentine's Day so we were forced to order from the limited selection.  I believe he got prime rib, and I got chicken.  The potatoes were good, the sauce was okay, and the chicken was dry.  We left this place feeling "blah." He said his favorite part of the meal was the appetizer, which I didn't find too appealing.

No alcohol and wine, our tab came out to be a little over $100.  Might as well have gone to Mortons.

I'm not a fan of fusion restaurants, but we decided to come here as this is one of the few restaurants by work that I almost categorize as fine dining.  Man, I miss eating in LA.

First off, I have to agree with one of the fellow yelpers thay the hostess wasn't that friendly.   There were actually 2 hostesses when I arrived and both did not even smile to greet me.  They acted like I was interrupting their breaks.  They should be thankful that they are pretty... Man, the things in which we let beautiful people get away.  After we were seated, I noticed a nice patio view over looking the city.  That was a major plus, especially in the 100 degree heat in the early eve.  I must say that our server, Robert, was very good and attentive.  He made up for the lack of people skills of their hostesses.

We started off with their seafood platter and it was decent.  It wasn't as fresh as I'd like it to be.  Next is our main course.  We ordered seabass, salmon and bone in fillet.  I do admit that I get all snooty about criticizing fillet mignon, so I'll be nice.  Simply put, tne bone in fillet was... decent.  Decent is good in my book, so I am sticking with that.  The seabass wasn't as flaky and salmon was a bit dry.  However, I do have to admit that the overall taste of the food is decent to good for a restaurant this far from civilization.  Haha.  Anyway, I had a "decent" time with great company.

I went here for Valentine's Day with my girlfriend. I was expecting to try out their regular menu, instead we had the "special" Valentine's Day menu.

To be honest, it was not worth going here. There was already a set menu and to be honest there was not much variety. We both tried the Prime Rib.
THAT and the braised short ribs were delicious, but it was only because those seemed like the only ones decent.

I will probably try Red ONE more time on a regular day NON special event. But we were extremely disappointed by the food.

Went to this place on a Saturday night. The weather happened to be perfect and so was the prime rib. The seating outside was set up nicely with a gorgeous view of the valley. The only thing that brought the rating down on this place was the service. The waiters serving our table constantly confused our orders, and on top of that, they were very slow with seeing through our requests.

One of my family's favorite restaurant in our area. The service is great. We always order steak here. Their filet mignon melts in your mouth. They have a really good wine selection. I tried their lamb before too and it was good. Their mashed potatoes and sauteed wild mushrooms are good. For dessert, we always get the chocolate flourless cake and creme brûlée.

The place is on top of the hill. Some of their booths have a small TV built in the wall. The main dining area is next to their bar with flat screens TVs. There is outdoor seating with heat lamps. They even have a fire pits outside where you can lounge and drink.

    Really love this restaurant.

GREAT FOOD with GORGEOUS GORGEOUS NIGHT VIEW

    PROS:
    - Great food, service & atmosphere
    - Beautiful Outdoor area with a firepit overlooking SGV.

    CONS:
    - Expensive

    MY EXPERIENCE:

    FOOD (4 stars):
LOBSTER BISQUE - Everyone at our party decided to go with the Lobster Bisque to get the night started.  It was absolutely wonderful.

DUO OF LAMB- New Zealand Double Chop and Olive Oil Poached Loin of Colorado Lamb served with Goat Cheese Potato Dauphomiose and Baby Vegetables.  I personally prefer the rack of lamb more because the meat was more tendered and juicy.  This was delicious and went perfect with my glass of red.

CREME BRULEE- I couldn't resist ordering this for my dessert, but regret my decision as soon as I saw it.  For the price they are charging, they gave me a generous serving of creme brulee.

    SERVICE & PARKING: (4 stars)
Tons of free parking.  Waiter was very courteous and kept our water and wine glasses filled.  They even gave my friend a FREE Dessert on the house for her birthday!

    AMBIANCE: (4 stars)
They have a nice relaxing lounge area that you can hang out and get drinks while you wait for your friends or table.  The restaurant itself have a warm feeling today.  You can see a couple of guys sitting at the bar and watching the sports game together.  Guests are seated apart (or I think they kept everyone from our party because we were too loud).  Gorgeous outdoor area with heat lamps and firepit.  Perfect place for dinner and follow by a drink overlooking the San Gabriel Valley.

    OVERALL:
Awesome experience at this Pacific Palms Resort location.  Food and service was good, but I think I loved sitting by the firepit and starring aimlessly at the San Gabriel Valley more than.  Dinner was quite expensive.  Turned out to be approximately $80/person.  But I would definitely come back just to have a drink by the firepit area again.

My brother gave me heads up about this new restaurant/bar that opened up at the newly renovated Pacific Palms Resort Hotel in the City of Industry. I checked out their website and was impressed with the pictures of the place and decided to check it out last night. I called up some friends to meet up with me and catch the Laker/Celtics game 1 over here.

Walking into the restaurant felt like being in some fancy posh venue in Vegas or a hip, trendy bar in Hollywood. The decor and lighting design is very contemporary and modern. I was greeted by the friendly hostess that directed me to the bar towards the back of the room. The bar area itself isn't too big, but big enough for the thirty or so Laker fans (and about 5 Celtic fans) that gathered around the bar area. Behind the fully stocked bar are two brand spanking new 50" LCD tv's that broadcasted the game, and a few more smaller LCD tv's around the bar area. They even have LCD tv's in the restroom mirrors! Now I gotta get me one of those in my bathroom! They also have a pool table next to the bar, and the restaurant area is adjacent to it as well. There's also a huge patio with seats and a fire pit, that overlooks the golf course...

The drinks and appetizers are good, and I can't wait to come back and try their lunch or dinner entrees some other day. The staff is friendly and the vibe of the place is incredible. Glad to say that I've discovered yet another great hang out that's less than 10 minutes away from my house!

First of all the restaurant was recently remodeled... so it looks very pretty inside. They have some booths with high dividers  that make for some nice privacy and each booth has its own small flat screen tv on the wall.  They also have out door seating which is awsome when the weather is warm.  A full bar with good drinks (I had pomegranate martinis), you can hang at the bar or go enjoy your drink while lounging around the big fire pit they have outside, but that  is not all...  there is an amazing  view of the city and the stars.

The food was delicious and the presentation was very nice but I have to admit my favorite dish was an item that  is on the salad menu but is not really a salad, its called "Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Mozzarella" its what I know as caprese, we had it as an appetizer. It has red tomato, yellow tomato (which has a delicious flavor on its own) with a special mozzarella cheese, basil and fig infused balsamic vinegar with beautiful presentation, it was so delicious I wanted seconds.

This is a very nice place. I've been to a bar here but it was on another floor. Its very elegant. Bartenders are friendly and their fire pit in the back is a nice touch. Great view!  Reminds me of Vegas. Great place to bring your other half.

    *Lunch Review Only*

Red serves up one of the best lunches ever. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a couple of very friendly and attractive hostesses. They take some of your info down probably to keep you as a potential contact for promotions.

We were escorted to our booth next to a very extensive looking wine fridge. The booth setup felt like you walked into a very high end restaurant. Each booth has its own small flat screen. Our waitress said that she'd be right back to take our drink orders. I guess one of the managers wanted us to be taken care of so he asked another waiter to immediately take our drink order. Delicious warm bread is served with your meal. Nice.

(See pics of food. Sorry, had to use my phone)
My client ordered the Red Steak Burger with regular fries and I had the Red Kobe Burger served with Sweet Potato fries. We wanted to try both so we tried each other's burgers. I took a big bite out of my Kobe Burger.........I was in heaven. Order this medium. The steak burger was good too, but a little messy. The Kobe was the best.

The sweet potato fries were perfectly fried with a light honey glaze. mmmmmm.

The service was excellent, though at times, a little carried away. We were there for about 45 minutes eating. I think we were asked by 4 different people on how we were and how was the food at least 8 times. I'm sure they are trying to make a good impression. I was impressed.

The prices here are quite reasonable considering the location and the quality of the meal. This lunch probably will set you back $40 for two. It's the ideal place to take your clients.

The bar is nicely decorated and looks like a cool hang out spot. I'll definitely be back to try out the happy hour and the dinner menu. So this review is To Be Continued!

I came here for drinks after a company event, I thrive on beer not food.
Love the huge flat screen TVs at the bar.  The beers were good, and available at a decent price.  The only negative was the water that tasted like metal.  I would definitely come back to this place for golf and drinks if I lived near by.

Days after my friend raving about the "Kobe Beef Burger" served here, right then and there I knew I was set out for another mission...

As the anticipation grew for about a week, my friend and I decided to pay our dues... Thursday was the day..

Very quickly (as much as I'd like to write more, I'd rather get to the main points) because you'd have to try this place for yourself to absorb how great the experience was for my friend and I.

-The ambiance and decoration of the restaurant was very upscale and nice, very pleasing to the eye
-I ordered the 18 oz Kobe Beef Burger which came with a side of fries
    -Friend ordered the Pork Chops
-Waiter was very nice and respectful
    -Service was excellent

The quality of the food was phenomenal, especially the hyped up Kobe Burger.  The meat was very flavorful, bite after bite.. In which at the end of my quest, only scraps of the bread and fries were left over..  The pork chops were also good..

I will most definitely come back... $63 and some change was our bill.. You be the judge..

We just had dinner this past week with a group from work.  We come here 2-3 times a year for large business meetings and because we are staying overnight, we usually eat close by.  I've had good (not great) meals here, but this was not one of them.

First let me start by saying, the service was really very good.  Attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.  Nice wine list, although sort of pricey.

Now the reason for two stars - the food.  Because we had about 15 in our group, in order to keep costs down, we ordered from a pre-set menu with four entrees to choose from.   Each dinner was about $50.  It came with a choice of three salads, their bread basket and a choice of two desserts.
The salad came, I had the ceasar, and it was good.  The bread was fresh and tasty.  It was downhill from there.  The main course showed up and looked good.  About 10 of our group ordered the flat iron steak with some sort of sauce, some flavor of mashed potato and green beans.  I ordered the steak to be cooked medium.  It came barely medium rare and not at all hot.  Others in the group also received undercooked steaks and a couple sent them back.  The potato mash was lukewarm at best, I barely tried them so the taste was nothing special.  There were about 10 green beans.  Bottom line - the steak was fairly tough, with little flavor other than the sauce and was undercooked.  Dessert was was either a mango cheesecake or creme brulee.  I should have ordered the later.  The cheesecake was a small scoop of cheesecake with some fruit garnish.  It didn't taste like much so I guess I didn't mind the scooper-sized portion.  All tthis for only $50?  The next night we went to Outback and had a much better time.

I'll summarize by saying that the bread and salad were the highlights for me and if we have to stay at Pacific Palms, I'll eat elsewhere.

RED is a fairly new restaurant...first opened in May of 2008. RED has the most romantic outdoor dining patio in the San Gabriel area. The outdoor Patio is called "Celebration Lake" and it overlooks the San Gabriel Mountains. The patio is surrounded by a beautiful lake and a huge fire pit with comfortable seatings. What a lovely area and impressive views!

The food is very good...I've had lunch and dinner here many times and have tried many different things on the menu. A few of my favorite: Tuna Tar Tar is SOO delicious! I dont even like tuna by itself all that much (unless its sushi) but the Tuna Tar Tar here completely changed my mind about tuna. Tastes very fresh and comes with crackers. The sweet potato fries here are to die for...i can eat it all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've had many type of sweet potato fries and RED makes the BEST hands down! I've had the Kobe burgers a couple of times and i like it...but i am not a huge fan of it since i am not a huge fans of burgers in general.

The Jasmine Creme-Brulee is heaven...not to mention the banana spring-rolls yummie! (and i dont even like bananas) All the deserts are delicious...

Overall RED is a beautiful restaurant with beautiful views inside a beautiful resort. what else can you ask for?

After reading a review from Erica C. and finding a good reservation with http://OpenTable.com, I decided to have dinner here.  After reading several "smabby" reviews from Hazel Q., I'm taking a literary moment that hopefully many of you will benefit from.

I made our reservations early as we both had to work early the next day, and I walked into Red a few minutes early.  When the manager saw me, he approached the host stand as I announced my reservation.  He confirmed by acknowledging me by my full name, without looking at a reservation book, First Nice Touch.

Since I had arrived early, I figured I would take a look around the place.  The manager showed me the booths near the entrance, and then took me around to the opposite side of the restaurant.  They have a full bar with several flat screens and good sound for watching the game.  While that looked great for checking out the game with friends, the room was definitely too loud for a nice dinner (even though I did want to be able to peek at the game).  The manager took me back to the booth he had held for me and then vanished...He promptly returned and let me know Andrew would be our server, and he would be with me promptly.  What I realized during the disappearing act was that the manager had slipped away to change the channel on the flat screen in the booth from some Acai berry commercial to the Steelers game!  Second Nice Touch.

With a manhattan in hand, and some really good football to watch while waiting, we ordered the "soup of the moment", which I thought was a crafty attempt to phrase "whatever we might have left over..."   Andrew told us it was clam chowder, but when he was in the kitchen he overheard they were running low so he wanted to double check... (I'm thinking "GREAT", because clam chowder is a staple for FRIDAYS, and we were having dinner on SUNDAY!)  Andrew returned to tell us the soup had changed to a "chicken autumn chowder"...  I think "H'mmm, low on the chowder, throw some chicken and rice in there, damn, that's what I'd do if I was...wait, I don't work there..."  We decide to try the soup and we were pleasantly surprised.  Not too rich and very flavorful, obviously no mish mosh going on here.  Third Nice Touch.

I felt like a caesar salad, and offered to share it.  When it arrived, Andrew had it sent on two separate plates, and the other manager served it with cracked pepper (I hate when they show up without it, they're carrying your salad, it's not like they can't see it's a salad!)  The second manager asked us if we were enjoying our dinner, and if there was anything we needed to let him know.  Fourth Nice Touch.

When the entrees arrived, we were very impressed, very.  Double-Cut Pork Chop and Half Rack Colorado Lamb, both excellent.  The lamb is the best I have had in several outings, or when I prepare it myself at home.  Nice thick chops, all evenly cut and prepared to the requested temperature, medium rare.  The chef strolled out a few minutes in to check on our meals, and on the service. Fifth Nice Touch.

Too full for dessert, we walked through the restaurant.  The game was over and it looked like business as usual for the restaurant portion, with several seats available at the bar as the game was over.  We took a walk around "Celebration Lake", a quiet area in the evening, perfect for a romantic evening dinner or cocktails.  The fire pit and view from the surrounding areas were an excellent way to finish the evening.  Sixth Nice Touch.

As a pointer,  when you drive up,  park on the lower level to the right, you're right at your car with no valet parking and closer than if you valet and walk down the escalator to the restaurant.

Something was up with the service that night. They weren't very friendly, but we finally got a waitress near the end that redeemed the service.

I can't comment on the food, we just came for some drinks at the bar. The last time I was here was around a year ago, and I didn't remember anything about it. Not even the tv's in the bathroom, which is pretty cool, btw.

There is a great view outside. We didn't go near the fire pit because there were too many people over there, so we got a table near the "lake" instead. It was a nice night to have drinks outside. :)

The peach martini was pretty tasty. They leave the shaker at the table with you, so you're really getting 2 servings for the price of one. At least, that's what I want to think.

The kitchen supposedly closes at 11 pm, so make sure you give yourself enough time to order appetizers if that's what you're in the mood for. I only tried a piece of a chocolate dessert and it wasn't very good. I'd rather eat at Cima than down there.

Feels like you're out somewhere trendy and posh like Beverly Hills but you're not!  You're in the City of Industry homie!!!

Pacific Palms Resort hotel is one of the nicest hotels in this area.  If you golf you know the place they got a beautiful golf course there and now they just opened a brand new spa!

Red Steakhouse will open its door to the public on May 8th 2008.

I went last night for a private preview dinner and cocktail party and I was more than impressed I was blown away!

They have a bar stocked w/ alchohal...the interior design is hip and cool.  Even the bathroom's nice- they have a like this hologram tv showing through the mirrors so you're watching tv as you wash up!

Outside plenty of seats and they have this big fire pit where you can sit and drink or smoke.

We had mini kobe burgers, lobster appetizers, fried mac n' cheese w/ mushroom sauce, some asian calamari stir fry and chocolate strawberries.  *DROOL SESSION*

Drank lots of sake martini's...order their signature Red martini it's strong but yummy =)

Whether you go on a date or with a group of friends this place is gonna be perfect to chill and have fun at.

I don't know the cost because everything was free but try it out!

My totally wonderful boyfriend fulfilled a promise to me from the first day we were officially together to take me to dinner at Red. Long story as to why it was significant but he made surprise dinner plans here for my birthday last night.

Right off the bat, this place is a splurge. With the lowest entree being $26, I'd reserve this place for lunch or a special occasion dinner. With that said, I absolutely enjoyed my salmon and risotto dish...and I also enjoyed J' mixed seafood risotto. I heard that seafood is their specialty but that their steaks are also excellent. My salmon was a bit on the salty side but when eaten with the less seasoned risotto it was magic! J's pasta was rich and (I finally get to say it!) unctuous and the the combination of flavorful sauce and fresh seafood was sublime!

Amazing ambiance inside and out. Fire pit outside and a wonderful view from a hilltop. Inside is a very sleek and modern look, simplistic but still stylish. Service was impeccable, very friendly and attentive.

I really have fond memories of the grounds and of the actual hotel itself but now I can add the restaurant to my 'fond memories bank' now. The best birthday I've had.

The bf chose this place to take me for my belated birthday dinner and I'd say this is one of the nicest restaurants that can be found in the area.  He made early reservations (I like having early dinners) so when we came there weren't too many other patrons.  The place filled up quickly though with both large and small parties.

Our meal started out with the Maryland jumbo lump crab cake.  The crab cakes were the perfect size paired with really good sauce.  Following the appetizer, I ordered the black bass while he ordered the special which was some kind of braised short rib.  I liked his entree better than my own because I thought the fusion of the sauces didn't taste that great.  The scallops that came with the bf's entree were amazzzing though!  They were large and perfectly seared with a lime sauce drizzled over it.  Yum!  I think that was my favorite part of both entrees.

For dessert, our server, Tom (who was VERY attentive), brought out a complimentary birthday cake.  I'm not really sure what it was.  It was a white cake/cheesecake? I really couldn't tell.  It was really fluffy and light which was a good way to end such a filling meal.

The ambiance of Red is very cool.  There are tons of TVs all over the place (seriously!).  Every table had a perfect view of at least one TV.  Even the bathrooms were decked out with TVs.

Usually go here for some company lunch/dinner/happy hour.

Food is way over priced for what they are.  I've had most of the items on the menu and they seem to never refresh it.  The place is decorated nicely with a modern style to it.

Absolutely not a good place for a group because they tend to mess up your orders.  The fire pit outside was nice but if you sit on the sofas surround it, you can't really feel the heat since they're so far away.  Drinks are pretty darn strong and there's a pool table next to the bar.

I love red!! It's an awesome restaurant on a golf course... so its got great views of the courses as well as of the surrounding city (the pacific palms hotel sits on top of a hill). This place always has yummy food and they're nice enough to cater each dish to your specific requests. The wok specials are always a safe bet, but I love the kobe burger too. It's like a lb of kobe and I'm like in heaven for the next couple of hours. The creme brulee is super yummers too!

Even though the lounge was nice, I wasn't too fond of the kids running around the area. It's a lounge for crying out loud. I don't want to see elemntary / jr high kids at a lounge.

The drinks were meh. I had a champagne cocktail and the champagne was flat. I was told that the beer was nice and cold though.

Would I go back there again? Only if it's free.
