I'm a fan... We went to eat here last Saturday and I thought it would be super busy, but it was wonderful.  The food was great, but my fave thing was the service.... They were SUPER attentive and kept bringing us bread [which I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee].

The food is always great and I'll definitely be back.

Went here for the $6.99 lunch specials with my dad today since he saw the big sign posted outside Red Lobster. There are 2 things I have to critique because Red Lobster is one of those well-known family restaurants.

1. The service was really good, but I have to admit, I just felt the aura of fakeness being in there. Our waitress was just straight up fake and trying too hard. No offense though. It sounded as if she had to memorize her lines. There is a difference between sincere customer service and trying too hard to provide customer service. A customer will feel different from the two. But hey, who's to complain? It's better than getting a crappy waitress who doesn't check up on your table.

2. The food was ehh. I'm not really a big fan of Red Lobster, however, I'm a big fan of their bread. I love their free bread so much that if I was poor and broke, I'd go there just to have some bread and water haha. Their food looks good in the menu and commercials, but in real life, they come out small. I ordered the shrimp skewers with rice pilaf and substituted the broccoli for baked potato. My dad ordered the breaded shrimp with baked potato. Both meals were $6.99, so you pretty much pay for what you get. Cheap price=cheap quality food.

Saturday night we met up with my sister-in-law for dinner at this Red Lobster location. It wasn't busy compared to the Milpitas location and there was no wait except when we were waiting for my sister-in-law to arrive :)

We sat in a booth by the bar and TV screens. Our server was named Jin. He was VERY attentive and friendly. The food was good but service was great. I wouldn't recommend the sangria. It tastes like juice and doesn't creep up on you like flavored soju does.

We haven't eaten at a Red Lobster in 2-3 years.

It was LobsterFest so a lot of the items were, you guessed it, filed with lobster ingredients. But it's kinda strange being it LobsterFest since it is already Red LOBSTER!!!

We ordered the Lobster, Artichoke, Seafood Dip served with toasted chips for an appetizer. It was pretty good, but basically, I can tell that the dip can be used as an alfredo sauce for pasta dishes.

We decided to share our entree by creating our own feast, three items for $22.75. We selected the seafood stuffed sole, shrimp linguine alfredo, and the steamed snow crab legs served with a salad and mashed potatoes. Sounds like a lot huh? A feast can be classified as being able to share a meal with company. But this dish is just good enough for just one. Maybe we just expect a bigger portion for a feast. The sole was small, not really stuffed, the alfredo was good, and had lots of shrimps but still small portioned, and the snow crab legs were as u guessed, small!

Is there any place to get some good seafood around here?? GOODNESS!!!

This is another one of those reviews for a chain restaurant that I have never eaten at before...

Red Lobster= Over priced seafood..

If you come here be prepared to spend at least $20 and up for a plate of food... the only good thing about this place is that they will split checks and the biscuits are really good...

Being the indecisive person that I am, I like to see pictures of food which helps me to order.. so I went with the Stuffed Tilapia on the cover of the menu... it was way too cheesy.. and the inside just tasted like a bunch of mush... yuck..  I won't be coming back here!

Waiting time has been 10 - 15 minutes, but you can always find a spot at the bar.  The wait staff is excellent, friendly and honest!  our server was great.  I would give more stars only because when we asked if the rice pilaf came without bits 'o corn they were willing to fish them out with gloved with the help of the manager!  Talk about accommodating!

I rated 3 stars because I did have to return my snow crab legs because they didn't cook them correctly, but the second time around they got it right!- it was crab feastin time!

It was my great grandfathers 93rd birthday and we decide to take him out to Red Lobster. Ive went to Red Lobster and have had a GREAT time but, this time was HORRIBLE!!!! The waiter had a really bad attitude.  I dont know about you- but my grandfathers birthday i want everything to go great and smooth. I orderd  the Shrimp Laungin Alferdo it looked like it had been sitting there for a while, the noodles were hard and and dry.
Basiclly, the only thing good was the bread.

I hope they take a good look at their staffing- but  the bartender-hispanic male and the shit manger-White Female were great

I guess we wont be going there again

I certainly can't afford to eat here every day, so I like to bring my girlfriend here on semi-special occasions (her finishing another semester of school, me getting a raise, etc.).

In the past 6-7 times (spread out over four years) we've been here, other than the excusable wait, there's been no problems with the service.

However this last time drove me to come on here and plunk down a 2 star review. The restaurant wasn't busy on this Thursday evening. But we sat for 40 minutes waiting for our food! When we finally said something, the server (Angelica?) admitted she had forgotten to enter out order. Making this kind of mistake just doesn't make sense to me. I don't see what one could be doing to forget to do simple tasks like submitting my order. We were physically and emotionally exhausted after a long day, so this was a very uncomfortable wait.

The table behind us was presumably also one of her tables, and the two people there arrived after us and waited 10 minutes without having drinks or an order taken! They called the manager who took over waiting their table. When we were leaving they were still waiting for their food, requesting it to-go.

Bottom line is, I see similar reviews to this one on here, going back over a year. Shitty service that doesn't improve will be punished in this economy--guaranteed. I won't be returning to this Red Lobster, assuming also that it won't be there when I want to.

We went to Red Lobster to use a gift certificate that we received for Christmas. I have been here several times in the past but I had not been here in several years. I was immediately shocked by the much higher prices on the menu. I was shocked again by the very small portions. The food was just okay. Sadly, our party of four was unanimous in giving this dining experience a big thumbs down.

There were very few positives. Since we arrived in the late afternoon, we were seated immediately. Our young waiter provided excellent  service.

Rating this restaurant was a tough decision. Somewhere between 1 and 2 stars seems appropriate. Forget this place. Find a nice taqueria instead.

I've never been a big fan of Red Lobster but boy are the buttery cheesy (not to mentioning fattening) biscuits are delicious! Mmm, I love it!

My boyfriend and I came in here for dinner today just a couple of hours ago actually. The hostess greeted us and sat us down quickly, she was nice. Our server came to our table and was very informative of the menu which was a bit odd but whatever. After munching on some biscuits and reading over the menu, my bf and I remembered how big the portions were here. So we decided to split the entree. We got the "Seaside Shrimp Trio" or something, it was about 17.99 I think. It came with a salad so that was plenty of food.

I think because we split the entree the server wasn't as nice to us and he was a bit apathetic towards us. Maybe cas he thought we were cheap or something (but that's not the case, it's a lot of food!)

As for the food, it was pretty good. Not the best but the shrimp scampi was pretty tasty. The pasta was nothing special neither was the fried shrimp.

I think if you want to eat here, you are better off spliting an entree. It is way too much food. Plus, by the time your food comes out you will be full off the yummy biscuits.

Our experience was overall OKAY. Although the server was a bit apathetic..our food was pretty good and the biscuits were fabulous!

My recent visit to Red Lobster was ehhhh.

It looks like as long as America is in a recession, Red Lobster will be a good place to dine if you are on a diet. Yes, America is scaling back but does the food portion has to be scale back to fit only 1/4 of the plate? Expect not to eat your mini portion because it will taste lousy. Thank goodness for the biscuits. It saved them from losing that last star.

I used to really love Red Lobster when I was a kid. The big lobster tank was the coolest thing ever as far as I was concerned.

Nowadays I'm not so easily impressed. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad here. It's just not awesome, either. Actually, their cheese biscuits are pretty amazing when they're fresh out of the oven. I like their food okay. It satisfies a seafood craving and it's 5 minutes from my house. As far as drinks go, I've only ever had a Sangria. It was pretty tasty. The boyfriend ordered a drink, can't remember which one, and he reported back that it was pretty weak.

Anyway, Red Lobster gets 3 stars from me for consistently being good, but not great.

I so want to write something nice about this place but I don't plan on ever returning to it, so I won't.  Should you wish to ignore your predecessors on yelp who have dined at this establishment, had the same experience that we had and lived to write about it, I can only offer this prayer for good luck:

May your two year-old have better social graces than the High Priestess at the altar of this establishment.

May the High Priestess tell you that you will be seated in 10 minutes...AND MEAN IT.

May you wait at the bar until your name comes up and have the bartender serve you a watered-down drink with an old pineapple slice within 30 minutes.

May you be seated at a booth without sticking to the seat as you slide in.

May your hands not stick to the table from the scraps of food from the previous diner.

May your trip to the bathroom be without overflowing trash receptacles.

May you NEVER have Lackluster Lucy as your waitress.

May you have better luck than we did in getting your meal in under 45 minutes after you've ordered it.

May you never pay good money for a cold meal that you could have saved by just going to the nearby Safeway and buying a couple of frozen dinners.

And finally...

May you NEVER be forced to waste 2.5 hours of your life like we did in this establishment.

Now , go forth if you must...I wish you well.

Amen

I don't know why this place gets so much traffic. I've been here a few times and definitely not a fan. This is not a real seafood joint! this is like a dennys or carrows that has some shrimp and lobster items. I ordered their tilapia fish baked in some parchment paper and it was very bland. My husband had some fiest that has shrimp and lobster  ect. The rest of their shrimp seems either fried (deep batter by the way) or soaked in butter.  No memorable dishes.

Their cheese biscuits are good but I can make that myself.

This place is just average to me. I drive by it all the time and have no real desire to stop in and eat. So I suppose that solved the 3 star rating mystery right there. Red Lobster is just a blah in my opinion, nothing great, nothing special, just a place to go eat with nothing to really be expected other than filling your belly.

The free bread is a plus but everyone serves bread these days, I can count on 5 hands all of the places I eat at that serves pre-meal bread but I'm not gonna knock it because R.L. bread is good with the butter and delicious smell.

The problem is I'm really not a seafood freak, if I want seafood I'll go to Costco, buy my seafood and cook it myself. Or I'll go to a real fancy seafood restaurant right in the same basic complex (The Fish Market) and get a real seafood feast.

They do have real good desserts though so I'll have to give them props for providing a well-rounded menu for the family and kids. R.L. has to be all things to all people in order to survive in the cutthroat restaurant atmosphere these days.

It was pretty good.  We went here on 4/20.
The service was really good too.  The guy
kept checking on us and thats always a
good thing.....especially since it was 4/20
(because it was a Sunday).  I didn't like the
bar area because they still were in the 1990's.
They have the old school tvs in random places
around the bar.  I expected some higher quality,
at least 1 plasma or HD, but no.  I was at the bar
and I wanted to watch the Sharks win, but since
they were playing the NBA Detroit game, the
Sharks lost.  I had to turn my back against the
bar to watch the game behind me =/  Food's
always good because they put butter.  Anything
is good when its in butter obviously:

popcorn
shrimp
lobster
rice...

you know.  but overall it was a good
experience.  If you want to watch a
game at the bar, DON'T.  Go some
where else like Coffee Lovers across
the street.  They have too many tv's.

Always guuud.

been here maybe 2 times. each time was different.

1st time: supposed to be a nice dinner out with the other half. the freakin server was rushing us out! hot damn. anyways, the way i was facing, i saw the door where food service leaves to go to tables. I saw that he totally forgot to get our salads out before our calamari. he was freaking out i swear. also, he never smiled, not once.

2nd time: treated my parents to their 25th wedding aniv. service was a lot better. it made me laugh how robotic she was and no one laughed at her jokes but she was nice enough. the food was ok. the calamari was gross though. i wish she woulda told me that the salads didn't come with the meal. that would of helped the bill. anyways, if it wasn't for this experience, i would have given 2 stars. but since the girl gave us new crab cakes (because the first ones weren't cooked all the way) i gave an extra star.

probably won't come back here. unless i want a quick meal.

What i am seeing from the past reviews is that most people just eat shrimp. When i come to Red Lobster i order from the fresh fish menu and their fish is actually FRESH and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend the talapia in soy broth. It was the winning dish on the food network channel and is featured on the menu. The talapia is cooked over a bed of asparagus, scallops, and shrimp and marinated in soy sauce with a touch of wasbi for spice. Delicious! The service is good if you have the right server. And FYI in the fall they have the "all you can eat shrimp" for only 17 dollars!!! I will be coming back soon.

I used to really like Red Lobster.  My parents would take us there for birthday dinners.  Now it is overpriced tiny portions of frozen microwave food.  I ordered the pasta with crab, the full order so I would have leftovers.  Yeah, it was $15 and there were no leftovers.  The best thing on the table was the biscuits.  I don't remember it being so expensive.  It was not worth the money.   The service however, was very good.  It is a shame they haven't paid attention to the recession.  Here, you get less food for more $$!

Wow, I haven't been a to Red Lobster for years. And on top of that, I hadn't been to this particular Red Lobster for many years. So, you could probably guess how I excited I was when my Dad wanted to take us out to dinner there.

When we got there, parking seemed filled, but we were able to snag a spot straight in line with the entrance. Score. Inside, it looks like every other Red Lobster I can remember, except this place seemed bigger than most I could remember. We got a table for 4 almost immediately and our server showed up to ask us for drinks and appetizers. Nice guy. Our drinks came pretty fast and our Lobster Pizza was delicious. I could probably eat that by itself for a meal. My family loves Caesar salad, so that's what came next. It looked like we had no dressing at all, but once you took a closer look, there was a fine film of dressing on every single piece of lettuce, not dripping in the stuff. AWESOME. Our meal was composed of random assortments (Read: TONS) of shrimp, steak, lobster, salmon, and crab, cooked many, different ways. Good stuff. Love their coconut shrimp, it was insanely good and I was weary of sharing.

One thing I found unique was when we asked for the check. The manager came to our table and asked us if we would do a phone survey. I figured I could do it at home, so I said agreed. She mentioned that if we did the phone survey at the moment, she'd give us any dessert, on the house. Seriously? I was so full, I couldn't shove down anything else. She said we could get it to go. Next thing I know, I'm on my cellphone punching in ratings for the place and our dessert shows up all ready to go. Nice. All in all, a bit pricey for dinner ($125 Plus tips) for 4, but the nice surprise at the end was fun.

Bitchy HOstess and overcooked food! Never again! I stopped eating at crappy joints a while ago, but my daughter wanted to eat here so that is why we went. When we arrived, there was a bit of a wait. The kids enjoyed watching the tropical fish and checking out the lobsters in the mean time.

When the hostess seated us, we asked her if she could bring us a high chair. She responded "Yeah, yeah, I'll bring you a booster." When she returned, I noticed that she had brought us a booster instead of a high chair. When I asked again for a high chair, she got all ghetto on me - "Chhhhhttt- you said booster, I didn't know you needed a high chair". I thought to myself- whatever bitch- you see me holding my baby!

So- this ghetto diva comes back with the high chair and tells us "Just watch out because the servers walk through here and your baby could get hurt." WTF? Well then maybe you should seat us somewhere else? I think this girl did not know her role. A hostess is supposed to make you feel welcome!

I was relieved when our server came. He greeted us right away and was attentive. The food, on the other hand, was not so great. My crab legs were WAY over cooked. I would crack one open and the meat was either stuck to the shell or so shriveled that it was not edible. Usually I send my food back, but my son was getting a bit cranky and I didn't feel like waiting for another batch.

I dont know y my hubby kept on coming here when he's allergic to all red seafoods (shrimps, lobster, crabs..) but after tonight, i think he wont be back again...

This place is always full on weekends .. customer service is not that great..... since my husband have allergies, he would order steaks or chicken w/c are either dry or over-cooked.  as for me, i usually order the shrimp & lobster alfredo w/c is ok  but i'd rather like my sauce to be creamier...

Anyways, last night.. my hubby asked the server if they can make something out of their "create your own feast" menu.  basically, u have to pick 2 or 3 choices and some side orders...  my hubby wanted the grilled salmon and shrimp linguine alfredo but instead of shrimp he asked if they could change it to salmon... then the server went inside to ask and came back saying ok... then she asked if it will be half or full(size).... ok, she was not listening.  again, we explained to her  what my husband wants...  2 choices: 1 grilled salmon & 2 shrimp linguine alfredo BUT instead of shrimps he wanted salmon.  that means, he's gonna have 2 pieces of salmon, right?!   after a couple of minutes... we thought she got it.   well, when my hubby got his order.. i almost cough out my food...  1 grilled salmon over alfredo linguine!

-They should be honest enough to tell us that they could not do it .. in some restaurants they will tell u right away ...OR maybe the server just couldnt get it..... my husband was probably starving for him not to say anything but wished he had gone to in-n-out instead!!!!

Agree with a lot of people that this place is nothing special.  We originally wanted to go to the Boiling Crab, but after driving past the ridiculous line, we decided to seek food elsewhere.  The last time I went to a Red Lobster, I found a caterpillar in my salad, so you can bet the apprehension I felt about going here again.  However, I didn't order salad this time, and to my knowledge, no one else at the table found anything moving in their salads.  I ordered a Berry Mango Daiquiri, which was more pretty than anything.  I also ordered the lobster pizza, which was a bit disappointing, since you couldn't really taste the lobster at all.  I did appreciate that it was thin crust pizza though, and ended up saving about half to eat at another time.  If anything saved the meal, it was the cheesy bread.  When our waiter told us he would be back with our drinks and bread, I was expecting that hard sourdough that most places serve you, with some cold slices of butter that don't spread.  But this was amazing!  Not too cheesy or greasy, but actually, warm, fluffy mouthfuls of slightly buttered, slightly cheesy deliciousness.  Yum.

I thought RL was going to be a good, cheap dinner, I was surprised to find out it's actually not that reasonable nor that good! The food is average (at best) for the price you pay. We only had one drink each and our bill was still on the pricy side. I didn't even really enjoy my dinner. It was just so-so, no distinct flavor really, actually really bland. Everything I ate had the same generic, buttery taste. I must admit, I do love their cheese biscuits though, even though they're on the greasy-buttery side. I doubt I'll be going back though regardless of my love for those addictive biscuits. Too many other better places to go to.

I really enjoyed the food here. It wasn't even as expensive as I thought it would be. This was the first place I tried it. I liked the cheese biscuits, and I ordered coconut shrimp, which was amazing. While our server was obviously trying very hard to provide great service, I felt bad for him because the people next to us were complaining that they weren't being served quickly enough. There was a little wait for the table, but it was worth it. It's also weird because the door is in the front, but the parking lot is in the back, and you can't walk through the back to get inside.

I love the staff at this location.  They are always willing to give you extra of their yummy bread and water glasses are always refilled.  They seem happy there.  Seating was never a problem, the wait was always understandable, the staff is corteous and extremely patient.  I always decide last minute what I want and they are always willing to wait.  Great staff, great food, and great company makes for a great experience.

PS. Even this one time when we had to be seated at the bar area, the bar tender stood her ground even if this one already drunk [he was drunk coming in] kept on pestering her for a drink and the staff called him a cab and let him go.  I was just sad cuz there was a family with young kids in the area and that customer was obviously being rude.

Great and relatively decent service, nothing other than average quailty service and food. The shrimp is good but not excellent. The ambiance is crap, the booth and tables are stickier than an adult movie theater floor. Do they have towels to clean the tables with ? I don't know , because I'm not the only one discontent with the cleanliness there. I didn't wait long for my dinner  and it was hot and edible.  It was a Saturday and busy , but we didn't wait more than ten minutes to be seated.

This location is a hit or miss. Sometimes I've had great service...at other times service was so bad I left without leaving a tip (in cases like those I leave a note explaining why the server didn't deserve a tip)....

i love the food, not only do u get ur main side but u get a side dish and a SALAD, not most restaurants give salads anymore with there meals. Also the prices are cheap and you get large portions. i LOVE  the biscuits, and they have a great verity of drinks, all in all good service and great food!!!

Standard Red Lobster, although this is only the 3rd location I've been to (or is that a lot?). LOVE the A/C here because San Jose is scorrrrrching hot during the summer. And another nice way to cool down is with the Mudslide!

I WISH IT WAS POSSIBLE TO GIVE ZERO STARS BECAUSE WE HATED EVERYTHING!

I work with my aunt. Today was her birthday so we all decided to go to Red Lobster. WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG. WORST SERVICE EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER!

Here's a list of what sucked:

- It took forever to be seated, like 15 minutes. THE PLACE WAS FREAKING EMPTY!
- The host was very, very unfriendly.
- After the waitress, Arlene (she was nice, but she sucked more than a porn star), took our appetizer and drink orders it just went downhill.
- THEY FORGOT THE BREAD!
- People around us were waiting forever and they were asking for our food to go. These two guys even got up and walked out because she was so, so very slow.
- We waited at least 30 minutes for our food. During that time not one person check up on us. at. all.
- We asked our waitress if it was going to be much longer for the food. She said, no because someone ordered a med. steak and that doesn't take long to cook. Yeah, we don't know what the hell that means either.
- We asked that our food be boxed up to go. They served us our food on plates and gave us boxes. Why? Because they said it would be faster.
- It took forever for us to get our bill. We ended up waiting by the kitchen to grab the bill from her hand.
- When we were leaving we tried talking to the manager. He was useless and he acted like he was scared of us. He said that we "took awhile to order our food" LIES! And that we got our food within 15 minutes. LIES... AGAIN! I'm assuming that our waitress forgot to put in our order.

We go there a lot. Like six company lunches a year. BUT WE'RE NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN! The food was good. But how can you mess it up? Isn't all of that stuff frozen or whatever?

Not a place I intend to visit again any time soon.  Granted, I am a vegetarian; however, they have not even one dish that does not have meat.  I went recently with a group from work.  I called ahead and they said they could make me a pasta dish without meat, so I decided to go.  While they do get credit for being accomodating, the pasta dish was cold, runny, and flavorless.  I actually sent it back as inedible, and got a baked potato, which was much better.  It would be nice if meaty establishments such as this offered, say, a pasta dish or salad without meat.  Perhaps the food is tasty for carnivores...I am not sure.  But if you don't eat meat, be warned!

I've always wanted to go to Red Lobster & I was finally able to go for the first time. I loved it. I ordered the Sailor Platter for lunch (garlic shrimp, hand-breaded shrimp & cod fillets). I ate every bite of it. The garden salad was really good -- the croutons were amazing but the best part of the meal was the bread. Mmm, cheese bread.

I like their food and I've never had problems with the servers or the hostess. The wait is long, but understandable. The servers have always been on their toes when I visit.

The only annoyance I remember was my recent visit when I asked the server to tell me about their wine list. I thought she knew squat and I was right. I asked what their sweetest wine was, because I'm partial to sweet wines. She said the merlot because something something berries something something it's sweeter most the time. What??? I ordered a reisling. They should make sure their servers are knowledgeable about everything on their menu.

Come here for the buttered biscuits that you get for free.  Its the best free treat in town.  The main course was eatable but satisfying.  What do you expect for frozen microwaved tasting food.  The shrimp were small and tasteless.  The salad looked old.  Without the biscuits, the main dishes deserve a 2 star rating.  Since biscuits are worth coming here for, 3 stars for me.

My dining experiences at this location has always been perfect. The biscuits are to die for here and they have a wide array of options of pasta, seafood, appetizers, and much more. They are so helpful when you order to go and give you free biscuits as well! I always tip big when I come here because they treat everyone equally when most of their customers are older. Great food, great location, and great people!

my bf & i took my mom out for a late mothers day dinner
since she was in socal the weekend of mothers day.
& since then was busy til last night. so we let her pick
where she wanted to go eat & she said there so off we
went. the lot looked really packed so we walked in thinking
we were going to have to wait. apparently the workers dont
have a seperate lot so that prolly took up a good 1/3 of it. not too
many people inside. took us to sit right away. & let us order
some drinks. coffee, soda, & boston tea. ordered our food
when the guy came back with our drinks. we got crab cakes &
crab & lobster stuffed mushrooms. as entrees my mom got
some garlic shrimp scampi, bf got lobster & seafood mixed grill
& i got the ultimate feast alongside the soups & salads that
come with it. the appetizers came in about 5-10 minutes &
the crabcakes were nothing special & the stuffed mushrooms
were alright. the caesar salads were ok. & my bf's lobster bisque
was ok. our dishes came about 20 minutes after we got our
appetizers soups, & salads. my moms pasta was ok. my bf's
seafood combo was alright & my ultimate feast was alright.
anyone seeing anything? that everythings just ok/alright?

the tastes of everything was ok. most of the food was overcooked.
the portions of seafood were ok but sides our entrees had were SHADY.
my bf didnt get much mash potatoes or wild rice. i literally got like
6 small florets of brocolli & my moms "Full" size portion entree
seemed to only be like a half portion. ehhhh whatever.
the only good in it all was that the biscuits were HELLA bomb.
& that our waiter was constant when it came to our drinks.

they have some new dessert called the chocolate chip lava cookie?
someone go try it & let me know because that sh_t looks good.
