I'm not usually a fan of big chains, but I had a $25 gift card to Red Lobster left over from last Christmas, so my husband and I decided to finally use it. After touring the Jelly Belly factory (also in Fairfield) we drove to the mall-area in all it chain-restaurant glory. I couldn't believe how dead everything was on a Saturday night.
Since we didn't trust the food and only had $25 in credit, we decided to split and app and an entree. The app was a New England Sampler. The waitress had to ask me to point to it in the menu in order to make sure I didn't want the other appetizer sampler. (This should be a big sign to the corporation that the menu is too broad and confusing.) The sampler came with "clam strips" (with a moderately disgusting tartar sauce--I opted for cocktail), seafood stuffed mushrooms, and bacon-wrapped scallops on a (somewhat intimidating) skewer. My husband thought the scallops tasted faintly chemical-ish, but all I could think about was how much better they would be with good bacon. The scallops themselves were surprisingly edible, considering we're used to dry-packed, dayboat scallops.
We had the Seaside Shrimp Trio for our entree. The platter contained fried shrimp, sauteed shrimp (in drawn butter) and shrimp in a white sauce over pasta (Bubba Gump might note that you also boil it & broil it) with a caesar salad and mashed potatoes on the side. Fried shrimp- standard. Shrimp pasta- pleasantly bland. Sauteed shrimp- delicious! We were both big fans.
Service was a bit overbearing thought well-intentioned. I had to ask for bread. Our entree came out no more than 4 minutes after our app. And for the record, the blue-rimmed dishes are hideous. Not a bad experience at all though, considering I spent on $11 of my own money , including tip.

I want to rate this Red Lobster with three stars, but the service i received when i went there most recently knocked one more star off my rating.

When the waitress took our order, she sat down right in our booth like she was about to have dinner with us! It was really awkward. Then throughout our meal she kept forgetting things. She forgot my soup. She forgot my brother's soda. She never offered any drink refills. And this was at around 9 pm on a Sunday so it wasn't that busy.

The food is not that great at Red Lobster. I really only go there whenever I feel like having some cheddar biscuits and clam chowder.

It fulfills a craving. Greasy though. It ought to come in a bucket, that way I'd remember it was a greasy as KFC. No big problems with service. All my servers were good i'd say.

Not quite the worst seafood place ever... Vallejo Red Lobster wins that award... RedL sucks  so disappointed. I would probably prefer a Long John Silvers gut punch over ever eating this swill again

Never again if I have anything to do with it.
My husband and I are regulars at this Red Lobster.  We've been patrons for years.  Last year, we started to see a noticable decline in the level of customer service.  I walked out and drove across the way to Chevy's.  I made my first complaint by letter to corporate and was comped with a $25 gc.  Sure, the comp meal was a more pleasurable experience - but that should be a given.

We went back a few weeks ago to eat in the bar area.  TWENTY FIVE MINUTES, yeah 25!, went by and not one single person greeted us, gave us menus, gave us water...nothing.  Oh and I counted all the minutes after 10.  My husband counted FOUR different waiters (not including the staff behind the bar) that walked by us numerous times.  We smiled, acknowledged them....tried to be patient.  But seriously 25 minutes and not even a hello?  Not one "I'll be with you in just a minute"..  We walked out and drove over to Chevys again.  I couldn't even bother speaking to the same poor management.

Forget the $25 comp.  I'm not interested in good service when they have to be nice to you.  I'm done with this place for good now.  Too bad because we've been regulars for close to 10 years.  Those 10 years saved it from getting only one star.

Unfortunately, even though I LOVE seafood, I just can't go here anymore.   SALT, SALT, SALT!      In everything!!!!   Why, oh why do restaurants load food with extra salt??  If I wanted salt, I would ask for it.

Don't get me wrong; I love salt w the best of them; however, I would prefer to salt to my taste and only on the foods that I want it on...

Solid choice my friends.

I remember my last experience at a red lobster in W. Lafayette Indiana. I don't remember being that impressed. Well ladies and gentlemen, this Red Lobster  will not disappoint.

I ordered the tilapia baked in parchment paper (check the photos for a picture). It was damn good. For 20 bucks at a chain I was pretty amazed. The service was great, water every 15 minutes and check ups to see if we were doing alright.

The only minus is the family factor and the big screen tvs. I hate TV during dinner and I always hate seeing families fighting during dinner. I saw both when I was here. I get stressed out when I see a dad giving his kid discipline in the restaurant. I don't want to see you twist your kid's arm. Alas, Red Lobster can't be held responsible for this.

Make sure you set your expectations, this is a definitely a 'family' place.

Seriously, I can't find any nice restaurants in Fairfield!  What is this?!
But Red Lobster will do, especially when craving a quick, seafood meal.

I have been to Red Lobsters only a handful of times, and each visit get whichever fish is featured on their "special list" that is baked in the bag.  This time it was tilapia, and it was SO marvelous.  I ordered the half portion, $11.99, and the piece of fish was plenty big.  Baked with the fish are veggies - celery, carrots, onions, peppers - and everything is seasoned and cooked perfectly.  You also get a salad and side, which makes the meal nice and complete.

(And everyone seems to LOVE the rolls...I think they're cheesy and garlicky, but I'm not sure since I can't eat gluten.)

The staff at this location was friendly, especially our waiter. My wife and I came in 5 min prior to closing and they took us in. We didn't feel rushed despite them having to work longer and our waiter was attentive on top of it. They took the fish and chips off the menu but our server recommended the catfish. I was looking forward to the fish and chips since the tartar sauce here is excellent but the catfish ended up being a good substitute. The dressing in their Caesar salad is great. It was so good my wife and I ordered some to take home along with the tartar sauce.

Tip: Sign up for their club (it's free) and complete a survey to get a coupon good for a free appetizer or dessert (entree purchase required).

Average food for a red lobster, nothing extraordinaire that would stand this place apart from the rest. They have the lobesteritas and other mixed drinks. The combos and specials that all other red lobsters offer.

Only thing I can that stands this place out would be the people who serve you here. Anything that has gone wrong with my orders has probably gone wrong here, not by the fault of my server, but someone else dropped the ball. But typically my server, the many numerous times I've been here, has offerred more than graciously to take care of, take it off the bill, or do what ever it takes to apease me.

Honestly, I don't expect much from a franchise chain restaurant near a mall. But I am pleasantly surprised by the service here, but be forewarned, the lobsters may not be the only thing in line to end their tasty lives at this place, for the lines and crowds can be stupendeously long.

Food= average
liquor service = below average
waiter/waitress = great

My family and I just ate here a few hours ago. i must say we were very impressed with this red lobster.

i called to see if they took reservations they said no but its a 30-45 minute wait. we arrived and i told them 5 people for Adrianne and they said the wait would be 30-40 mins. 10 mins later our name was called. we were very surprised. usually at restaurants we wait longer than the wait time they give us.

we sat down and the waitress was really nice to us. she got our drink orders and brought us some bread. she brought our drinks out and then took our order. the only thing is that she forgot my nephews milk a couple of times after having to remind her about it.

our food came out in about 10 mins. and after a few bits we were already full from the salad and bread. the only things i didnt like was that the plates were sooooooo hot i burnt myself. overall we had a really good experience and we were only there for about an hour and fifteen minutes. definitely recommend this red lobster.

On a recent Saturday night, we layed the rubber to the asphalt of I80 and headed to meet our friends from Oakland at Red Lobster.  As we walked in, I ventured off to the lobster tank to pick out my keeper, A la John Candy in Summer Rental.  My wife quickly grabbed a stool in the Captain's Lounge.  Our friends arrived, and we were seated.  Two of us ordered the Admiral's Special.  Your basic plate of fried everything, clams, scallops, cod, shrimp.  One went the grilled shrimp route, while the fourth did a mix match of grilled salmon and shrimp scampi.  The food was fine, as it fed our hunger.  When they forgot to bring our second round of drinks, they comped them and our dessert.  Very cool.

After having so much better seafood at other places, I rarely ever go here anymore. Its passable, and their peach smoothies are very good (if they still have those). From what I remember, their food was always a bit greasy. Their seafood salad was what I always got. Could never go wrong with that. It had bits of shrimp, lobster, and crawfish mixed in a Caesar salad. I'm sure I'll revisit one day, but not today.

I love the service at this Red Lobster, and thought the staff was very friendly and attentive. One night I came here with the hubby 15 minutes before closing since we were driving back here from SF and we got hungry and were craving seafood. Anyway, they were really nice about staying open for us and didn't at all make us feel in any rush to leave. I always enjoy the cheddar biscuits they service here when you arrive and the only disappointment was that this time they took their fish and chips off the menu. I normally get the King and Snow crab legs here, a Cesar salad and veggies. The tartar sauce here is also one of the best I tried and we always end up buying container to take home. They may be a chain but at least they don't feel like one at this location and seafood anywhere is a lot more healthier than going to a steak house or burger joint!

Red Lobster is a seafood chain restaurant that is known to many.  You just expect the same quality of food and service in all chains.  This one in Fairfield fits that mold; great service, great food.  I was surprised that it was not that busy on a Thursday night (7:00 pm), so my fiancee and I did not have to wait at all.  For appetizers, we got the fried calamari and vegetables.  As usual, it was very good (my fiancee and I fought for the fried broccoli).  For my entree, I got the Ultimate Feast, which included fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, crab legs, and a petite lobster tail.  You have your choice of baked potato, mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetable medley.  My fiancee ordered a whole lobster tail which was even better in warm, melted butter.  I recommend getting the caesar salad as it goes well with the cheddar biscuits.  Speaking of which, the cheddar biscuits, when warm, are one of the main reasons why I choose Red Lobster over other seafood restaurants.

This place is great for birthday and anniversary dinners.  Personally, I rank Red Lobster as the best seafood restaurant in my book.

Of all the Red Lobsters I've been to this is one of the really good ones.  Its actually clean inside and when you order a lobster the waitress will actually open up the lobster for you and make it easier for you to eat it!!!  The service is great and the food taste alittle fresher as will!

it was ok a little to pricey for what i ordered. dont ever get the potatoes with the shrimp gravy it is nasty. i learned how to crack some crab legs and it was a neverending battle for about a minutes worth of crab to eat. like i said to pricey for what i ordered and some of the waitresses were moody.
