Really nice, comfy hotel and for a great price thanks to Expedia! I'm easy to please though -- I consider a hotel "upscale" when they actually offer a small bottle of conditioner instead of the gross "two in one" shampoo stuff.

The hotel is conveniently right off of 80 and close to the main downtown area. The wifi was kind of weird -- in one room we couldn't get any reception at ALL but a week later when we were in a room two floors above the old one it was fine. Also if you are a light sleeper definitely ask for a room in the back of the hotel -- the balcony windows (which were awesome!) don't close out the noise from the street below very well and also get really cold!

This is not one of my favorites. The room was just kinda dark and dreary. It was very cold out and I could not get the air to work correctly so matter what I did it was either too hot or too cold. The food is kinda blah but the service is ok.

My friends and I stayed here over the winter. My friend booked it because he was "on a budget."  The price showed. It was a bit dingy and run down.  I probably would not stay there again. Wifi did not work in our room. There is a ski shop right across the street at which we got discounted tickets for Park City. The lobby had discounted tickets for Snowbird.
If you're looking for especially clean with luxury and comfort, this is not the place for you. If you're just looking for decently priced place with a bed and central location, this is for you.

hmm, not bad.

Free wifi, Free parking and less than a mile from Temple Square. The downside is that the place is a tad ghetto and has very little nearby - in fact you've only got a gas station next door and a ski place across the street. You have to walk a bit to get to food and shops. Staff were very nice.

I also noticed that this is THE place for flight attendants and pilots. They seemed to be everywhere - the elevator, the SkyBar and the lobby - must have quite a deal with the airlines....

My room was big, with a large desk area and nice bed. Also, a separate vanity/closet area. I one "room" wish would have been a cleaner bathroom - I noticed some hair all over... which made me gag. Good amenities in room as well - love a place that actually gives you Shampoo AND Conditioner. I paid (well my work did ) $139 a night.

The one star missing is due to lack of free breakfast and a less than perfectly clean room.

Decent accommodations.  Keep in mind that SLC blocks are like a mile long so when they tell you that this hotel is a "few" blocks from the convention center, they aren't lying.  They just aren't telling you what you really wanna know.  It is not a walkable distance.  Red Lion offers a shuttle.  Nice of them.

My stay was just fine, really.  The price was okay and my room was nicer than that of a friend who stayed in a pricier hotel.

Good choice for a midscale hotel among the options in the area.  Happened to be there during March Madness(?) and you could sense the energy.  Cozy lobby and fireplace.  50s style diner in the front.  And super convenient airport shuttle.  I think I waited a max of 10 minutes, both coming from and going to the airport.
