I am so glad we chose Red Line Painting!
Jeff was amazingly helpful, professional, and courteous. I requested a quote online, and the next day he came over for a quick walkthrough. The next day I had the quote (beating his deadline by a day), and as soon as I approved it he scheduled a color consultation at my request. The consult was Wednesday evening, and he was back on Thursday morning to start painting!
Our house looks great, the work was done quickly, and we felt the pricing was more than fair. I highly recommend Red Line, and will be using them again in the future! -

Really? Must I give one star? I hate to do this, but alas -- I must.
I was excited to work with them as nearly all the reviews were fab. Try getting a consult scheduled with these people, though...it's not easy.
My tale begins when I called the first time: Chris, the owner, called me back promptly, successfully and quickly got a consult scheduled. Well, we have just moved in -- things are hectic...contractors, movers, decorators, etc.
When I had to cancel our consult because of a furniture delivery coming A MONTH early (completely out of my control), I called to cancel and I got a prompt response acknowledging my cancellation. Good to go thus far. I called to reschedule a few days later...I wasn't called back for over A WEEK, so I decided to call BACK AGAIN. When I, very politely, told Chris about this lapse of contact when he [finally] answered his phone, he could not have given two *bleeps*...hardly acknowledged what I said and just sat there silently waiting for ME to continue the conversation. Okay, now I'm thinking, "Is that just me or was that rude?" I move past it.
Well, Chris (or his other employee Jeff) not calling me for a week REALLY threw off my schedule, because I needed to get the consult done IN that week and half I wasn't called...so scrambling to find a date before our Fall Excursion to Boston (our only vacation this year), I made the consult for the end of October, a few days AFTER we came back so that it didn't need to be rescheduled.
Well, wouldn't you know it -- the day before our trip, our lil' puppy slipped on the deck, hit his head HARD on the ground, and ended up in the ER with severe head trauma. No trip for us, and nursing a sick puppy. :( So, I called, explained the situation again and told him I'd need an earlier appointment on his voicemail since we were no longer going to be out of town. Well. Again...FOUR DAYS have passed now, NO response. I understand I'd needed to reschedule twice by this point, but these were clearly NOT reasons I could control.
When a client asks to be called back, and is being responsible and attempting to not "no show" the company when they show up at the house and I'm unavailable or not around...I'm trying to not waste THEIR time. Since I've done my part, attempted to cancel and reschedule regardless of the chaos going on in my life and they can't do the same....I'm not wasting another minute trying to get a hold of people who won't call me back.
I'm on to a better company who got back to me within an hour and has 100% good reviews. Go with Venetian Designs guys. Far more professional, much better attitude, and understand the benefit of doing good business before you pay them a dime. It's the entire experience, Red Line, not just the paint job...
PS: As soon as I initially posted this, someone got back to me immediately. A coincidence? I don't think so. -

SO even though they just started painting when I left for work this AM, we have been so happy with Red Line's service that I had to start Yelping early.
Our contact Chris R has been totally accessible via email and phone. He came for 2 free consults, and was able to book us when we wanted. We moved all our furniture for them and forgot to remove the nails in the walls, but he happily said he would take care of it, along installing 2 light bulbs that I nor my husband could reach due to 12' ceilings. It just goes to show that he goes above and beyond with no hesitation.
I will update when I get home today to check out how it looks, but so far the service has been excellent.
***UPDATE
Got home and the first coat looks fantastic. AND we discovered a mix up with the color and he is taking care of it, no questions asked. They have excellent service and I would HIGHLY recommend. -

REDLINE TO THE RESCUE!!
My previous contractor cancelled on me the day before they were supposed to start. I called Redline up and they really helped me out of a huge pickle...
These guys were great. They were able to give me an estimate with no hassle. I called them up on Friday and they were able to finish my unit (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom) on Sunday in ONE DAY (vs all other contractors who estimated 2 full days). Not to mention they charge almost 30% CHEAPER than other competitors.
I am a stickler when it comes to research. If you are like me, stop looking and call these guys up now. They are BY FAR the easiest guys to work with
The only complaint I have is that i picked Benjamin Moore colors, and they eventually used the analog colors from Sherwin Williams without telling me. The colors are the same, so I guess it all worked out in the end. I just wish they had told me. So if you are truly set on a specific brand, be warned that they use Sherwin Williams if you don't specifically tell them. -

I had a really bad experience with these guys. Chris was nice enough when he gave me an estimate, but the guys who did the work - not so much.
Apparently bad language was ok to them. My real issue was that I had to clean (floors and my baseboards) for a couple of hours after they finished and I still have some paint on my couch that won't come out. Paying them turned out to be a bad move because trying to get them to correct their mistakes after that proved impossible. They painted my living room and dining room. I will be going to craigslist for a different painter for the bedrooms. It can't be any worse. -

Red Line Painting is the ONLY painting company you'll ever need.
Chris Rutledge, the owner, is most professional and so unlike any business owner I've encountered. His website is fantastic, easy to navigate, and includes a tremendous amount of useful information. A self-avowed "paint geek," Chris's proposals are clear, concise and extremely fair. His knowledge of colors is a blessing for those of us who lack the color coordination gene.
His paint crew? THEY ROCK!
My husband and I were fortunate to have RLP paint our condo. Even with a slight miscommunication in color choice, THE CREW (Sylvester, Rob, and Chris2) handled the entire job with the highest level of professionalism. They were timely, tidy, fast, and personable. Never, in 3 days of work, did we have less than 2 men working on our unit. They stayed until the job was not only done but done to our satisfaction. How unique! Btw, Chris was out of town when our work was scheduled to begin, and Brad (another owner perhaps?) took care of all the details. Brad is calm, cool, and collected and Brad knows paint!
We looked at two other proposals. RLP was neither the most expensive nor the least expensive. Great work was much more important to us than was finding the lowest price. In the end, we won on both issues.
So there you have it people. If you are looking for the best of the best the only call you need to make is to RLP!!!
P.S. After having seen what an ABFAB job Redline did in our condo, our association had them paint our building's front and rear stairwell walls. WOW! -

From start to finish, Red Line was very professional and attentive . We worked with Chris to have our entire 2 bed/2 bath condo painted and Chris was clear, easy to work with, and gave a very fair estimate. Everything went smoothly and our schedules meshed so that the whole process, from my request for quote to the job being completed, took about a week. And when I noticed a few minor issues with the work about a week after the job was completed and paid for, they came back no questions asked to fix. We are extremely pleased with the work Red Line did, and would definitely use them again as well as refer them to others.

Absolutely loved Chris and the gang! I first got an estimate from the Paint Doc and thought was ridiculously high. Then I found Red Line Painting. Gave him the color selection over the phone and they arrive promptly with the correct color and did a wonderful job.
They went above and beyond in every way. I'll never go anywhere else for my painting needs!! -

I have never hired painters in my life. Moving forward, Red Line is the only company I will ever use!
My wife and I bought our 1st place and needed a quick turn around on the painting. Within one week (very short notice) Chris Rutledge (the owner) did a walk through, put together a solid estimate, and set a work date for us. We bought the place on a Monday and our paint was complete by Wednesday night! The paint crew was professional, worked efficiently, and did great work. Chris even offered to send someone out to do touch-ups if the carpet installers scuffed our walls or damaged the paint in any way.
Chris did a great job of helping us pick paint, gave great recommendations, and never did anything without asking us first. His operation is professional, reliable, and creative.
My wife and I think it is important to support local businesses and Red Line Painting will always be at the top of our list. -

I can't say enough about Red Line Painting.
Let me start with this ... I know you. You are the person who has no idea how to go about hiring painters. You don't know what you should spend. You don't know if you can believe a review on Yelp. Less than a week ago, I was you. My wife and I closed on a condo Friday. Saturday we started painting and realized we were in over our heads. We ended up trusting in the reviews I read and emailed for an estimate.
That was Saturday evening. We said we would like the job done as soon as possible.
Chris Rutledge, the owner, called Sunday morning. Sunday morning! He asked if we had time for a consultation. He came by, measured, talked to us about the paint we chose and gave us a ballpark price. An hour later he emailed a complete estimate.
We hired him and his crew and they were there bright and early Monday morning. Now mind you, our paint isn't white and tan. We're talking very, very bold colors. Chris made it happen. His crew was kind and professional and good at what they do. They cleaned up and made the place look spectacular.
I would absolutely recommend Red Line Painting to anyone looking for painters. He's that good. I don't write 5-star reviews unless someone does 5-star work. I know you don't know me, but believe me when I say that you can trust me. And you can trust Chris. You won't be sorry. -

Called for an estimate and set up a time. I waited at home, these people never showed, or even called to say they would be late/NOT COME!! I then called to leave a message that no one came by, maybe we got times mixed up, and could reschedule, BUT I NEVER EVEN GOT A CALL BACK!!! Poor professionalism!

Great people to work with! Made painting our place as simple as could be. We were able to get the whole thing from estimate to condo painting done in a week. Professional and friendly. A great deal for a painless process and beautiful work. Would highly recommend.

They are true professionals.
Initial meeting with Chris was a consultative meeting and he provided me with a lot of insight on colors, schemes, paint type, etc.
Red Line is very responsive. My questions were answered right away and when I selected colors and was ready to get the job started, they were ready when I was.
The job was completed in 1 day and I didn't even have to be present.
The paint job was perfect. The condo looks amazing and flawless. Even if there was any additional work or problems they would have come and fix anything right away and free of charge.
Overall, competitive pricing, amazing work and great personal touch. Highly recommended. -

Red Line was terrible. They very recently did the paint job at our condo. First, the owner only deals with you on e-mail. He rarely returns calls and takes a while to do so. Second, they went overtime on the project. They inspected the apartment and told us they would be able to complete the job in about 4 days, to finish on a Thursday because we were moving in Friday morning. They did not finish until Saturday. As a result, we had to reschedule our move (luckily our movers were accommodating) and we still spent a night in a paint fume filled apartment. Third, the wood floors in our apartment were refinished right before they started the job. We REPEATEDLY told them to take care with the floors, specifically mentioning using dropcloths. Frankly, they were careless with the floors - dropcloths were used only (and only occasionally) immediately under ladders - and as a result, the floors which cost $3,500 to refinish were covered with paint spots and some areas had paint ground into the grain. While most of the spots were removable -- by me and my husband, I might add, since they did a CRAP job of cleaning -- the ground in paint in the grain remained. Finally, they did not even offer to discount the price after the delay and the problems. I would never use this company again.

Chris and Redline were recommended by a good friend of mine in the high-end remodeling business and he ONLY deals with them. Chris suggested some paint colors that worked extremely well with our condo, which saved me a lot of time and effort in trying to find the correct combination's. His team were prompt, clean and beyond helpful. When we walked the job afterwards and i pointed out a couple of areas i wasn't sure about they jumped straight in and worked them until they were perfect. Their prices are very reasonable and the fact that they were so buy last year, when everyone else was closing shop, demonstrates well the quality they bring to a job.
