I was in the area for the Killingsworth Street fair over at NE Killingsworth and 30th. I had made my rounds to the various restaurants and wanted to see what else the area had to offer. I only live a mile away but I haven't really explored Concordia much besides my new job at New Seasons.

Red Fox is similar to most all the resale and vintage shops in Portland. Cool tchotchkes and some decent clothing, primarily for women, and all sorts of randomness. Paintings, denim jackets, bingo, records, Japanese silk coats. Random, but interesting. Like any place like this, you'll find cool and interesting and nostalgic items, but it all depends on if you want or need them.

It's a nice place to wander around. Enjoy.

It's not often that I find a gift perfect for my dad, but I gotta say, I found the only gift my father ever approved of. He has never been so happy receiving a large box of old, unused matchboxes for less than $10 than all of my cards and expensive tools and machines. Like most vintage/antique shops, most of the items are property of various sellers and bartering is really not much of an option. Credit cards can be used free of charge for purchases more than $10, or just 50 cents per charge for any purchases less than $10. The lady over the counter was very polite, but did not seem to know the intricacies of the shop as much I had liked. The overall size was alright, but not as overwhelming as some of other vintage shops in SE Portland.

Overall, my box of matches and 1950's popular science magazines made my dad a very happy man and that alone deserves a 4 star. I couldn't give 5 stars as most of the items were not as well maintained and the shop seemed kinda dusty.

After discovering the awesome Red Fox Vintage in the Woodstock neighborhood, I was happy to find they had another outpost in the Alberta Arts District. This location is smaller and the prices are a tad higher, but they still carry unique items from different vintage time periods. If you're looking to decorate your home with something one of a kind or love vintage costume jewelry, stop by Red Fox. The lady working here was very nice and I found a cute horse shoe for $4 to hang in my home for good luck. Worth a visit!

I'm once again indifferent to stores like this. They have a lot of cute things inside however, as someone that regularly thrift shops, I see items in the store that I have seen at goodwill for 1/4th the price. Like, exact items. I didn't not go through the clothing, however from looking briefly I could tell they had a lot of COOL and unique items, but I doubt I could splurge on the potential price tag for them and I doubted anything would actually fit me anyway - the housewares are once again -- cool and unique but nothing caught my eye enough to justify the price. A very small, vintage framed press flower picture was around 8$ which is low, but I have see the same thing at other stores for 2$, a small rattan doll chair for around 15$, the same exact chair was at the thrift store about 5 days ago for around 3$
I guess I should stop stopping into vintage resell store fronts, because I know that they're trying to pay bills and that's why they price things the way they do -- shops like this just aren't made for people that regularly thrift, like I do.

If you don't have the time to dig through thrift stores like I do, give this shop a go as they do the work for you. But expect to pay 4x the price that you will pay somewhere else.

Amazing selection for being such a small store. I found about a dozen items in an hour and the owner was so helpful with me (I'm handicapped) and helping me with the room. Definitely check it out

This place is so neat! From the moment we stepped in, everything in the store seemed to grab our attention.

I was rummaging around and had said to my boyfriend, "man..I just want to come up on an amazing find at one of these stores..." And sure enough the next thing I picked up out of a pile of purses was a Louis Vuitton!!! I'm pretty sure it's not a genuine LV, but it's a really good quality knock off.

My boyfriend came out with a vintage coffee can and a neat little measuring cup that he's planning to use to hold his straight razors. If we had more time, we would've probably been able to find more neat things.

The store is a hodge podge of goodies from different times. I wish there were more stores like this where I'm from.

I'm getting on in my years, at my ripe old age of 32 I've begun using potions with labels that have names that include the words "anti-aging." I ain't no youngster no more. This means I'm tired, but not tired of shopping. However, I don't have the patience of wading through racks of people's unwanted Old Navy loot from two seasons ago at the Goodwill in hopes that I'll find something that's quality vintage or has a decent design.

That's why I love shops like Red Fox Vintage, an awesome collection of vendors who have carefully curated mini collections for me to enthusiastically paw through. It's like being able to visit a dozen vintage shops at once! And the best part is that all of the vendors are reasonably priced. They've got clothes, home goods, small bits of small furniture, and everything in between.

YES! The clean, well-staffed, AMAZING alternative to House of Vintage! And with vintage finds that are clean, un-wrinkled, and from the 1930's-onward! Such a gem of a place and with insanely friendly staff. Highly recommended, and has a truly amazing stash of house wares and furniture.
I can't say enough great things about this place after I found a super-rare tooled leather and woven backpack here for only $20. Score!

Literally, the best thrift store I've ever been to.
I was visiting Concordia University Portland and wandered a few streets to see the local atmosphere, when I walked into a vintage boutique. The lady inside directed me to Red Fox Vintage, a "hipsters paradise". Well, she was right.
I walk in, and immediately find a dress at the door worth drooling over. As I sling it over my arm and and take a few steps more, I am literally hit with a million items. My eyes can't look fast enough.
Since I had a few hours to kill (and you'll need that much time) I went from little nook to little nook, going through everything and seeing what treasures I could find.
I quickly realized that the merchandise had a variety of tags on them, some red, some with designs. I came to the conclusion that this was a sort of consignment shop, and indeed, it was. The kind lady at the cashier told me they have 20 or so vendors who scour the streets looking for vintage beauties. The store gets a mere 10% for every item sold. Well, anyway, back to my experience.
As I wander throughout the amazingly decorated interior of this little store, I pick up two skeleton keys hanging on the wall (perfect for hanging on mine) and a little teacup, decorated with a Beatles theme for my best friend.
My arms full of clothing, I drop my little treasures off at the counter. Once I literally look through everything, I climb the stairs to an individual bathroom and changing room. I found two gorgeous dresses (the first one mentioned and another) as well as the perfect patent leather bow belt. There were many other items I wished I could have purchased, but alas, I only brought a carry on bag with me.
If the weather weren't so Un-Californian, I'd choose the college almost entirely because of my great experience at this store. It's seriously a place to check out, get lost in, and find things you can't live without.
I hope to return as soon as I can.
