Red Dragon Express
4 reviews for Red Dragon Express
Work took me out to District 7 on the Gila River Indian Community right about the noon hour. So, I finished up what I had to do and drove Baseline down toward 52nd Ave. The homie, Roberto, was getting hungry. We pulled into the strip mall that houses Red Dragon and looked for something,....anything. I suggested the taqueria next door but Rob wasn't feeling it. It was then determined, Red Dragon was it.
Rating this place three stars is mighty generous. It's not much to look at and even less to experience. Set up like Panda Express, the Dragon is severely lacking in the freshness/taste department just like the aforementioned Panda but more so. The chow mein/fried rice side that accompanied the one item combo I ordered, was the best thing about the meal. I had Sesame Chicken, BTW, the old Americanized melting pot standby.
Greasy. Cramped seating. Uninspired. I might eat here again if it was like some weird holiday and nothing else was open,...and I happened to be in this area.
Probably should have hit El Gran Taqueria.
Shoutout: 'sup Cher!!!!
I normally give places 2 chances before they are written off. This time, one was all it took. If a year from now they hang a new "Under new ownership" sign out front, I might give it a second try, but not before then.
They are trying to be Panda Express and they are failing miserably. Really really miserably. Overpriced for what you get, and what you get isn't good at all. And while I'm not saying everyone will feel this way, we both felt a bit icky about 20 minutes later.
Really want some fast Asian in the area? Try the Panda Express down the road.
I really dislike this place!
Food is ok, price is ok. nothing special.
