I was just there working a New Leash on Life event (a fantastic local dog rescue/adoption organization... http://www.nlol.org).  I spent a solid 3-4 hours in the store and was impressed by the extensive selection of dog products they carry.

The owners are wonderful people, as well.  I can't comment on prices or products, but the store and owners are awesome, so the products should be, too... right?

    I love Red Dog House!

The owners are so nice every time I stop in, very knowledgable end enthusiastic about the products, but without being pushy at all.  You can tell they love dogs too.

They also have some unique merchandise I haven't seen at other places.  It's pricey like all nice dog boutiques, so no surprise.  Plus, my little boys are worth it :)

Why should you visit Red Dog House?

First off, the owners of this establishment are super, SUPER friendly and personable.

Secondly, they have lots of great stuff for your canine compainion; sweaters, clothes, collars, speciality beds, grooming- you name it, they have it. They even have a few items for the felines in your life.

Thirdly, who doesnt love pet stuff??!

BUT........as much as I do love Red Dog House, they are NOT the place of a pet owner on a budget. This boutique is strictly indulgence only for a poor struggling law student.

BEST place to find a collar & lead paws down.

Once my puppy reached the last notch on her collar, I was on a mission. Red Dog House has a HUGE selection of collars and leads and at very reasonable prices compared to other local pet boutiques.

They seemed to have a fair amount of items on clearance, and stuffed my little bag with freebies - treats, dog spa promotions, etc. ::Yeah!:: They had plenty of toys, treats, and couture to parooze as well. And while the set up is cute, cubbies, shelves and butcher tables stuffed full of items, it makes it difficult to take everything in.

The staff was very friendly, both times I was in one of the owners was working, but when I came in with my dog she wasn't given any lovin' from behind the counter, something I have come to expect when I lay down some serious cash at an independent boutique.

Over all great selection of doggy needs and accessories at reasonable prices, but slightly lacking in the dog service department.

I went in there to specifically get a sweater for my pooch.  I found one that was a decent price and was stylish.  The owners were very nice in helping me pick the correct size for him.  If I needed to exchange it they made sure to mention that I could come back and swap it.

Overall they had some neat pet toy and treats that had a good price range.  I am sure I won't go in there for everything for him, but will make the trip on special occasions.

This is a very new pet boutique that just opened up in Oct '06. They have very cute, hip sweaters and at a great price. Also the sweaters come in XXXL, so finally some clothes to fit our larger loved pets. They also have everything else you need: toys, collars, leashes, bones, beds, etc. The owners of the store are very nice and helpful. Definitely a cool new hip place to bring your dog and buy the cute fun stuff.

I picked up some cute toys for $5 and some shampoo that smells AWESOME...and now my puppies do, too!  Very clean, attractive set up in the store.  Some of the selection is limited, but overall it's an enjoyable place to shop.

Just recently stopped in there---so cute and bright!  I love the layout and how (like a previous poster said) a large dog can maneuver the store without any problems.   Prices do range.  There are racks of $300 dog carriers and $150 dog jackets but then you can also find tons of really cute stuff for under $20 (t-shirts and treats and really cute dog dishes).   Plus, most of the stuff is different from what I've seen at the other popular dog boutiques in the city.  They had a whole rack of dog smell sprays that I've never seen before.

I want to love this place, I really do.  It is steps from my place and I appreciate the ever present bowl of cool water they leave out for my little guy.  But seriously, this place is a little too high falouting.  A dog bed designed by aeronautic engineers priced at like, 500 hundred dollars?!  Anyone who buys this, or similarly ridiculous products for their dog, needs to have their head examined.  And instead of buying that stupid bed and 30 dollar organic dog treats made with flax seed and dried gogi berries, why don't you just take Fido for a nice long walk everyday.  Guarantee he will enjoy the later better.  So if you are looking to buy your dogs affection with over priced and unnecessary crap, this is the place for you!  3 stars though for the water bowl outside the store though.

I like this place. Steve the owner is very knowlegable about dogs and being a new dog owner to my pretty beagle Gwyneth it was great to meet him. Good food choices, great treats the dogs can try out. If you have a dog try this place.

A good place to visit with your bitch. Quality stuff, and some treats you won't find elsewhere. Ask my girl, she loves them.

The owner is very friendly and helpful.  I've only been in a handful of times, but always friendly and welcoming.

Most of the toys offerred wouldn't last 2 minutes w/ my dog....(he's a big dog)....so I think maybe many of the offerings are for the slightly smaller city dog.

I did find a great leash, and a winter coat for my guy....and love that it's a locally owned shop.  But, on most occasions...I still prefer the Petsmart for most of my needs.  But that's me....I still love this place, friendly w/ unique items for your city pooch.

If you have dogs that love toys Red Dog House has the best!  We have no gone through multiple rounds of the same toy just because our dogs love them so much and no one else in the city carries them.  The treat every body (dogs included) with the best customer service possible.  5 stars in my book!

This place is great! They have a good selection of toys (my dog likes the hemp bones), and the owners are AWESOME about supporting local animal charities.

I live walking distance to the store so I have been walking my dog over there since he was a puppy. The owners are so nice and helpful, even after my dog peed on the floor (a few times..). Steve, the owner, helped to fit my dog w/ sweaters, coats, and harnesses many times in the past two years. Now since my dog is full grown and hates dog clothes, I don't buy as much of that stuff, but Red Dog House does have really cute dog gear. I did however purchase a sweater (it was a few months ago and it does get really cold here!) that the owners helped fit.
Red Dog House has a nice selection of treats/biscuits. They also have some unique cat toys too.
They also have really great sales too.

i love this place and the owners are super helpful and nice.  when i couldn't decide which treat my dog would like the best, they just kept bringing me more to try out.  when my boyfriend stated the obvious (that leroy would like them all because they are all food) they acted like that had not occured to them, at all.  they have a great selection of collars, leads & harnesses as well as some great higher end dog food.  we have been twice since we got our dog 5 days ago and will definitely be back!

Ok, some of the things in RDH might not be the most practical item for your pooch.  However, they do have some of the best treats, leashes/collars, and toys for your pup.  My dog, Bode, is a big fan of the bully bones which I can never find in Petco etc.  Plus, the owners are very nice and helpful.  Give Red dog a try!

Red Dog House is somewhat expensive, but if you are looking to indulge your canine friend, this is a safe bet.  The owners have always been very nice to me...and more importantly they are "pit" friendly!!!  I have purchased gift certificates here for dog loving friends and they have been thrilled.

I think this place went out of business.  Not surprising though - it was overpriced and the people working there didn't even acknowledge your dog when you come in.  I have 2 cute dogs that get a lot of attention whereever they go - except here.  Couldn't be bothered I guess.
