I worked for an artist in the area and we always got a coffee and muffin to go every morning. I would loooooooove to have a place like Red Canoe in my neighborhood! The muffins are tasty and fresh--they always have different flavors. I'm quite partial to, well, most of them but I tend to like savory things in the morning and all of their savory muffins have been really yummy and filling! I don't think I've gotten a bad muffin and a certain apricot muffin comes to mind as far as their sweet ones go. Great coffee, really nice space, good for kids as they have a bookstore of kids books connected to the coffee shop. The service has always been really good--all in all a fantastic neighborhood coffee shop.
They have great muffins. Try the spinach and cheddar muffin. The place is very homey and the owners are really friendly. Great place for kids also.
Great place for kids- they do a lot of book reading activities and the whole second floor is a great place for htem to runaround indoors. Nice outdoor deck out back. The baked items are nummy- pumpkin cheesecake muffin, devil's food cake, stuff like that. The owner is a very nice woman from France who has managed to combine great things from Baltimore with great things from France. Only caveat is that the chairs are big and uncomfortable- but otherwise a gem of a place!
