Maybe it's just that I was so surprised to see a chef cooking fresh sole to order in a Cancer Care Alliance cafeteria! Or maybe it was the seriously friendly (in a good way) check-out guy. Or maybe it was the snug little seating area with uber clean seats and good ambiance.
But I suspect it was the fresh, very tasty tofu fajita. Lots of nice fresh chunky tofu, peppers and onions, spiced very well but not too hot, wrapped in two warmed flour tortillas, and served with sour cream, queso fresco, salsa, and a sprig or two of cilantro, accompanied by steamed green and yellow summer squash and healthy brown rice. Yum! And only $6.95! And they've got a huge selection of Odwallas in the cold case, along with a nice selection of fancy sodas and whatnot... I ate tasty food in a quiet, restful setting, washed it all down with a Super Green, and got out for under ten bucks.

Roll your eyes if you must: I am reviewing a nook-sized work cafeteria.
But...it is damn good. They really have a focus on the fresh, local, organic, and tasty.
Not good enough to make a destination, but if you work along Eastlake at "the Hutch" or thereabouts, it'd be a short walk.
Seriously delicious, chunky gazpacho.
Parmesan crusted chicken with pesto sauce.
Tasty fish.
Cheap, tasty oatmeal.
Maple butter with my French toast? Don't mind if I do.
