A friend and I met here for a bite and a drink.  Since they don't publish their prices on their website, I was a little worried as to the price range of their food. I was delightfully relieved when I got there and saw there was barely even a thing over $12.

It was Tuesday, which was 1/2 off pizzas day.  The pizza was $6 and with us sharing, that was just $3 a piece. It wasn't great, but it wasn't awful. At $3, it was fine.  We got the spicy meat pizza, boneless buffalo wings, and a sangria each.  The buffalo wings came in this bowl and seemed to be a small amount until we lifted a couple out and saw the nice bed of fries underneath soaked in buffalo sauce sprinkled with blue cheese. As my friend said, "Oh what a nice extra treat!" That was one good appetizer. We've already committed to going back just to get an order of boneless buffalo wings each.  We agreed that we'll be going the "greedy" route on that one.

The sangria's were nothing special, but once again not awful.  They are a bit weak. When we go back to be greedy, we're going to opt for the pitcher of sangria instead of just the glass. I gueeeeeeeess we can share that.

I have to say that the design of their website doesn't do the place justice. Even though they have interior pictures up, I still expected the place to be cheesy and dank. It was quite the opposite. It's a mod-70's-contempo. It's not quite a restaurant and not quite a lounge. It's a restaurounge. Anyway it goes, this restaurounge was a good spot to go chat and chill with my good friend on an easygoing Tuesday.

Being a fan of 3's Company growing up I automatically new I was gonna like this place (for those that don't know, the Reagle Beagle was the bar Jack Tripper & friends would frequent on the show).

When I walked in I noticed all the red furniture and disco ball setting a 70s & 80s mood. I grabbed a seat at the bar and began waiting on some friends. As I sat down I noticed a picture of my favorite racist Archie Bunker (All In the Family) staring at me. I looked around and noticed many pictures of favorite TV characters from the greatest era of television (dare you to disagree).

While I was waiting, I decided to have a Mr Tea, which is Ketel One, Jose Cuervo, Chambord, Sour mix, Blue Curacao and Sprite. It was really good! On the menu it had the tagline "I pity the fool who drinks too many", which is play off of Mr T's line he always used.

I decided to also try the Tootie & Blair's Cranberry & Pear which was almost as good as the Mr Tea. The pear flavor really stood out and the drink itself packed a punch. I decided to try another Mr Tea after and that was all I needed to give me a helluva buzz.

After those delicious drinks I became hungry so I decided to consult with Jim the bartender about food and he advised me to get the Mork from Ork burger which was topped with a fried egg. Jim the bartender also used a special cheese spread on the burger to enhance the flavor even more. That burger was one of the best ever! While eating they even sat a pack of pop rocks next to us. Jim the bartender was more than awesome!!!!

The only downside to this place is the lacking beer selection. Definately will place this in my after work bar rotation!

I know I've always had a fun time here!
I love the old school atmosphere and especially the fun names of all the food! The food is great, especially the burgers! Epic burgers, for sure. Come here hungry! Service was good, no complaints.

If you want a fun night out with friends, come to Reagle Beagle! Overall, I had a great time. A little hard to find, but worth it.

Pretty darn tasty burger and salad.  My hubby and I split a burger... it had onion rings, cheese, jalapenos - good times.  We also got a salad with apples and blue cheese which was yummy, but the blue cheese was a little heavy/too much.  Nice waitstaff, but kind of slow for a fairly empty Monday night.  The atmosphere was cushy-cush, and it was fun looking at all the old tv show pictures on the walls.  I can't say it was super memorable, but it wasn't bad... therefore 3 stars is all I got.  :)

I decided to give this place another shot. Glad I did!

I was really impressed with one the not-yet-famous burgers. It was cooked the way I ordered and season really well. Just tasty! Plus, who doesn't like a side of Pop-Rocks with there meal?

Side note: Some crazy bunch of people came in doing a scavenger hunt looking for an Obama sticker. I ripped off my journal cover (which had the sticker) and sold it to one of the groups that came in.

CREEEEPPPYYYY!!! I am still traumatized by the 1970s pedophilia convention lounge atmosphere 4 months later.

1 star for the burger lunch deal. It was sufficient for $6.

My skin is crawling, stomach flipping circles like ADHD hampsters racing around a wheel, face twitching involuntarily, and I'm still seeking electro shock therapy for their dark, dank, dungeon lair.  Oh...and for the Hooters wannabe waitresses. Seriously chubs!! Put some clothes on & cover them saddlebags! NASTY.

A friend and I came here on a Tuesday night after watching a movie at River East. It was okay. The service was alright, no complaints. The patrons were primarily older men. There may have been 4 women (not counting the wait staff) in the place. I liked the music selection (70s, 80s and 90s favorites) but it was way loud and super distracting/annoying --- we sat in a booth in the back and I couldn't keep my thoughts straight.
I agree with the other reviewers that this place is probably aimed at tourists (i see lots of ads on the el for it). It has an american themed menu and drinks named after 70s sitcom stars. Its cute, but probably not the best place to go if you want to sit and have a conversation.

So I'm at work yesterday - roughly Michigan Ave and the river. And I have a hankering for a good burger.

But want I really want is a "good" burger (no fast food, no Houlihan's) AND I'm just not feeling like paying $15 for one at one of the steakhouses or The Gage or anything like that.

Suddenly, those ads on the Brown Line for the Regal Beagle push through my subconscious into my frontal lobe. "Sure, I hate 70's kitsch, but those photos look good. They built their entire menu around burgers - they have to have figured out how to do that well, right?" So I walk over.

Apparently, the foodie kosmos has a way of punishing such intellectual laziness. I know that now.

Normally, I don't bother to write negative reviews. If I don't like a place, I don't go back. But the following I view as a public service announcement.

Let's start with service. On a Thursday lunch hour, there were maybe 10 tables filled, around half the restaurant, and three people at the bar.

Yet, the servers were totally weeded and the kitchen backed up. It took around five minutes for the bartender to show up at the bar and hand out menus. My French onion soup then took 25 minutes and my burger 35 minutes.

Look, things go wrong in restaurants. How you respond is all that matters. And a muffled "sorry your soup took so long" is, frankly, not enough to justify a half-hour delay when you are sitting AT THE BAR where it is supposed to be a faster experience.

On to the food. I only ordered the French onion soup because it was $2. I would pay $2 to not have tasted it. It was bland, like Campbell's soup bland, and there was this lonely, sad little piece of bread floating in the cup with some half-melted white cheese parked on top of that.

The burger, which I ordered medium rare since it was supposed to be a big one, indeed came in (barely) at that temperature. The burgers are cooked on a griddle, not grilled, and clearly they have not mastered the heat because the outside was just soft and mushy - almost like the burger was baked in an oven. My wife's theory is that the meat must have been frozen, but I have no proof of that.

The bun was actually quite good, a fresh, brioche one that would have made an average burger taste great. If I'd had one. The fries are one of those "inventive" kinds with breading or some damn thing and they were fine as they went - but I'd have just preferred some steak fries.

Finally, as you'd expect, the atmosphere if full on 70's. It is the only part of the experience they nailed. So if you like that kind of thing, it might be an ok bar. But for the love of Jebus, don't order a burger there.

The Reagle Beagle....  Hmm. The place, the name has so much meaning to me for sentimental reasons. I am the biggest John "Jack" Ritter fan ever. So, to my man, Ritter, and all of you Three's Company fans out there, I wrote this little ditty for you:

Go on knock on their door.
They are waiting for you.
Where the burgers are hers and hers and his,
They've got pizza too.

You can dance on their floor.
Take a friend with you too.
It's a funky little space where you can feed your face.
They've got something yummy for you.

You'll see that the food and drinks are better than ever at Reagle Beagle oooh.

Maybe it's not fair for me to review this place.  I mean it's not really my scene.  I suppose I could imagine somebody being into this sort of thing.  Some hypothetical character we'll call Stu.

Maybe Stu is still shell-shocked from the Vietnam war and wants to hearken back to a time before he was all edgy and jaded.  Maybe Stu has been a pop culture buff since before I was born (1982) and wants to satisfy his dorky fact-seeking side in the same way I do when I go to a place like the museum of science and industry.  Maybe "Disco" Stu frequents places like "The Awesome 80's Prom" and others of that genre from even earlier in the 20th century.  Maybe he's Mark Wahlberg from Boogie Nights.  Maybe he's more into watching 30-year old tv clips with no sound than watching sports.

I don't know.  And I don't care.  None of these scenarios sounds remotely identifiable to me, so I will leave all of the things they represent along with some passable but unexceptional food to those who are better suited for this time and place.

Partner and I enjoyed a late lunch here Saturday afternoon. There were very few customers at 3:45 and on first impression, I wasn't entirely convinced that there were many staff either. We didn't see any indication otherwise, so we found ourselves a booth. The decor and mood of the space is an eclectic mix of sports-bar meets 70s kitsch with a touch of Playboy Club. (Not that I really know what that would be.)

Shortly after seating ourselves a very pleasant waitress appeared with menus and asked if we had a drink order. This is definitely a burger joint with a plethora of variations on the theme. She returned after an appropriate amount of time and asked if we had questions or wished to order. Partner ordered the "Jack Tripper medium-well"; I ordered the "Squiggey". Alas, they were out of brie. The restaurant doesn't lose any points however because it demonstrated our server's knowledge of the menu. I had barely gotten the name out of my mouth when she apologised. I asked for my second choice, the "George Jefferson medium." Our server was attentive, our (soft) drinks were never empty, and our order status was updated without prompting (we hadn't noticed any delay or anything). The food arrived as ordered. We were both pleased with our burgers. The fries are different. I loved them; Partner not-so-much.

It's good food, somewhat unique, but just a tad pricey. The uniqueness will prompt our return. For the basic burger, (in that area) I think we both prefer Bleckies.

The atmosphere is pretty much what you would expect with their emphasis on pop culture of the 70s and 80s.  It was actually a lot of fun to sit around and listen to songs I hadn't heard in eons.  Despite being sort of non-busy, service was kind of slow.  There was a family with kids here the night I was in...but I definitely don't think of the place as "kid friendly".  Its more of a dark loungy environment.  Its probably not a bad place for a cheap-ish date or hang out with a coupla friends.

The burger I had (The Squiggy) was mildly disappointing...since they proclaim on the ads I've seen on the El that their burgers are not famous yet.  It was good, but nothing to proclaim "to be famous".  I thought their fries were much better.

I went here with friends from out of town and didn't mind this place. When I heard it was 70's themed I was pretty excited. I think it's more modern looking on the inside with pictures of 70's sitcoms hanging on the walls.

My sangrias weren't bad and set me back around $8 each. I had a turkey sandwich and that wasn't so great. Food = no, drinks = fairly priced for the area. Our waitress looked pretty young but nonetheless was pretty attentive.

Good for groups (3 - 7 people) if you want to sit on the modular seating and have a few drinks.

Parking sucks around here. You'll have to pay for a garage (the one next door is $24 flat I believe) or find a pay box.

My girlfriend and I stopped by The Reagle Beagle for the first time on a recent Monday night before catching a movie at the AMC down the street and we were both absolutely blown away by their fantastic Jack Tripper Burger, a sandwich so big were able to split it and feel quite satisfied by. Putting our own spin on things, we substituted the cheddar for some spicy jack cheese to "jack" things up a bit and better match the theme. Our waitress agreed this should be the standard approach to this item. We both felt the burger was one of the most impressive we've had in a long time, plus the price was very reasonable. Overall, the service was great and we loved the space and its warm, comfortable vibe. We will definitely be back.

I'm not a huge fan of this place. I feel like there is way too much going on. Everything needs to take it down a notch:
* the wall decor: every inch of each wall is covered with head-shots, pictures, etc.
* seating arrangements: there are way more couches and chairs than necessary. and each piece is huge so there is no graceful way to walk around them
* music: so. flippin. loud.
* barely-there lights: why is it so dark in there?

I've gone here a couple times because I want to like it. It's close to my office, I heart 70s & 80s pop culture, and it usually sounds like a good idea...but I doubt I will be dropping back in anytime soon.

Also, their ads on every single El car for their "Not Yet Famous Burgers" are not very appetizing...they just look greasy and heavy.

In commemoration of my first hundred reviews, I thought I'd start the next hundred with a nostalgic review.  I was just walking about Chicago, when out of my sight I saw the Reagle Beagle sign.  The first thought was, of course the TV show back in the 80's.  You remember the bar that they frequently hung out at.

Sidebar: it disturbs me that straight men still order girly drinks, but really saddens me is said man has to drink it from the small straws.  It's just so wrong in so many ways.

This place has 80's TV show cast photos on the wall everywhere, the show that yours truly grew up on (no I don't need to be carbon dated).  CHPS, The Love Boat, Different Strokes, Partridge Family, The Brady Brunch, Happy Days, MASH (my favorite), Cheers, Addams Family, I Dream of Jeanie... And of course, Three's Company.

The 80's music blaring and the disco ball in the center a spinning and shinning, all good stuff.

They got a full bar, couches to lounge, booths, tables, ESPN on the flat screens all around the place and a fake fire place to boot.

The place is filled up with your regulars, tourists and your business folks (how can one tell... look at what one is wearing)

I was fortunate enough to sit next to the signed photo from the three cast member of Threes Company (Suzanne Summers, Joyce Dewitt and John Ritter, may he rest in peace.

The place is not famous for its burger.  Depending on the character, a burger was created.  Me, I had to try the Stanley Roper, because the man had it all, so says the menu.

If you observe the picture I took, it has it all.  Peppers, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, grilled onion rings, mushrooms and the meat.  The only thing I didn't care for was the brioche bun, I like my buns simple and not fancy.

I love me a good flavorful burger.  This burger had a good ratio of fat to grease.  It was also good because the contents, though over flowing held together well.

Place is hidden, but not so hidden... certainly off the beaten path.  Next time I'm in Chicago, I'm coming here again.  It's weird how the good place always are found at the end of one's trip.

For a non-chain restaurant and bar, the theme is a bit cheesy, but not a bad place to hang and enjoy life.

I'd normally give this place 2 stars for drinks, food, & service but the fact that it's an original puts it at a 3. Nowhere else will you get that 70's sitcom vibe quite like The Beagle. Yes, the menu (both food and cocktail) is a bit pricey and limited. But you're really here to sit in weird kitchy cushioned lounges and sip things that have names like "Tony Danza Extravaganza" or "Tootie Fruity" that come with a leftover carafe like they used to do with milkshakes at diners in the 50's. I primarily come here for the too-sweet, intoxicating drinks and for some laughs because I live nearby. Out of town visitors think the place is funny, especially at 2 am. That's the only way I can explain why the place is crowded on some nights- all the nearby hotels and the mile shutting down after 8pm.

I went here twice so this review is based on both visits. The decor and the lounge-like feel of the place is perfect for a group of friends to meet-up for a few drinks before going out for the night. The food is on par with Americana food. Not amazing but decent. They provide you pop rocks with your meal which gives them an extra star on that alone. I went for lunch which had service slightly on the slow side so beware of that. Fun place. Cute waitresses

Came here after months of walking by and wondering what the hell the place was -- and then finally seeing an ad on the El advertising their burgers.  I was surprised how nice it was inside, though their theme was before my time and therefore to me was pretty lame.  I had a Jack Tripper burger (that's what I saw in the ad), which was mediocre.  A big burger with a bunch of stuff jammed in, but nothing amazing.  They give you some Pop Rocks candy with your meal, but my box tasted like it was actually from the 70's, hanging out in a cupboard somewhere.  Disappointing.  Nice place, but I don't think I'll come back.

My impression of RB actually falls somewhere between 2 and 3 stars.  While I understood what they were after in terms of theme, I must agree with other reviewers that the kistch seemed very confused, and rather cheaply done - (Maybe that's the point, and I missed it?  I found it kind of dark and depressing.)  Also, location, location, location... I was VERY confused about whether Boston Blackies was gone (it isn't), and how to actually enter the restaurant.  Better signage is required if this place is going to survive, because it will not enjoy the mystique of Billy Goat, which we go out of the way to go underground for...

As for the service, I thought this was pretty good, bordering on a little too assertive in the beginning: I had barlely settled into the booth, let alone read the menu, before not one, but TWO waitresses asked if I wanted a drink.  I put on my best smile and said "We just sat down" - the first time I was very polite, the second time my  "politeness" clearly ticked off the waitress, who avoided my gaze for the rest of the evening while she conspicously served other tables.

That said, the waitress who DID wait on us was great, and the burgers were pretty darn good.  No food poisoning, good fries, and I did love my drinks: the White Cranberry/Cucumber cosmo, I had two.   Will I return?  Remains to be seen.  Too many other places come to mind before this one.

I've been here twice, the first time was for drinks after work and the second was for lunch. For drinks after work the place was pretty busy. They have an alright beer selection and interesting menu of mixed drinks. When I was here for lunch I ordered the bread bowl of french onion soup for $5. The lunch menu features about ten $5 lunch menu items... The co-workers I was there with went with the $5 burger, which looked pretty tasty. The soup was ok, but it was just french onion soup in a bread bowl, nothing fabulous.

The Three's Company / retro idea of the place is a lot better then the food. Maybe stop in for a drink and check it out but if you never make it here you're not missing anything.

I didn't recognize half of the TV shows they had pictures of all on the walls, but that just made me feel young. And I like feeling young these days.  But I did recognize the pop rock candies on the table...and I LOVE pop rocks.  My husband told me not to eat them cause they were dangerous...what? He apparently never had a snap bracelet growing up!

Our party of 6 made ourselves at home on a very comfortable couch and ordered some drinks/grub.  A glass of white wine for me.  We all claimed we weren't hungry until we looked at the menu and before you knew it we ordered 3 orders of mini burgers, nachos (sans meat- had enough of that on the burgers!) and french fries.  Sadly they didn't have sweet potato fries on the menu...i guess those weren't popular back in the 70's/80's.

We waited, waited, and waited some more.  For the amount of time it took them to make our food I think they may have taken the "Back to the Future" time machine to go get it.  FINALLY our food arrived...and it was delicious...just perfect after several hours of drinking.  The nachos were especially good.  And all that food disappeared within minutes...yes, we're pigs.

I dug the atmosphere (and pop rocks) so I"ll go back..even though I aged a decade waiting for my food.

The food here can "Come and knock on my door" or preferably mouth anytime it wants.  I took my father here for dinner, we were strolling on Michigan Ave looking for something tasty but not to over the top.  We saw the sign and my dad explained what it was a reference to.  I explained that I saw their sign for delicious looking burger on the red line.

We went in, and it was a very interesting decor.  Definitely not your average interior.  If you are expecting a very standard looking place you're going to be happy.  There were booths along the walls, but also these sorta like openish circular arrangements of a couches and chairs around a little table where people would sit together. They looked cozy but def not the kind of thing you'd go for a fancy meal, or just with one other person. but back to the eats
My father went for the Furley Burger, I tried the Stanley.  I thought that the burger was quite delicious.   The roll, the onion ring, the mushrooms, the onions... in the words of homer simpson, "nnnnmmmmmmmmlll".  And the Furley fries, man those might be my favorite fries so far here (and in the past while).   I just wish I could remember where else I've had fries like that..

In summary, it was a different kind of place, but it really pleasantly surprised me and hit the spot... I'll def be back

This place was just not as kitschy as I'd hoped, but my high hopes for that sort of thing are usually dashed.  I am one of those vintage loving weirdos that has all Pyrex casseroles and prances around in housecoats.  I am a freak.  I know.

I've stopped in here after working at the gallery and it was just ok.  Drinks were a bit on the pricier side and it was so loud in here I couldn't have heard Jack Tripper calling my name to save my life.  I've only sat at the bar for a few beers so I can't say much for the table service or food, but if I were in the area, I'd probably give it another chance, provided it wasn't a weekend.  I'm sorry but I have all the tolerance of Mr. Furley when it comes to a loud downtown bar on the weekends.

Kitschy and cute - but not mind blowing. But as I am a fan of uncrowded places for Happy Hour downtown where a decent drink costs less than a solid gold bar - Reagle Beagle gets 4 stars.

The place is filled with 70s & 80s themed music and tv related stuff and the place itself is comfy and spacious. It addition to a long bar with adequette seating, there are a ton of super soft couches - I actually lounged on one for about 3 hours last night (think of the posh couch you WISH you parents had leftover from the 70s and had given you but updated for today).

My friends and I sipped on some wine ($5 on Wednesdays) and some cheese fondue (hit the spot but not award winning) and were having a good enough time to stay and chat well past sundown.

If I had written this review when I first visited the Reagle Beagle over a year ago, I would have given them four stars. Unfortunately I never wrote that review. Based on my experience from last night, RB now deserves only two stars. Sad, isn't it?

There are things I like about this place. The nostalgia, the retro music, the fact that you can hear the person next to you speaking, the layout of the space, the comfy couches, and the Three's Company on the tvs. (Seriously, it was my favorite show back in the day!)

So what went wrong? The FOOD and the SERVICE. I've had a number of different items off the menu in the past and really enjoyed them. But last night, the stuff was barely edible. The pizza was loaded down in a heavy blob of greasy cheese. Icky, Ricky Schroeder! Then the beef sliders? Un-e-frickin-ventful. Oh, did I mention that we waited over 35 minutes for this crap? And NO APOLOGIES.  :(

Last, but not least. The service (or lack thereof). Is it wrong to dream about b*tch slapping the waitress? Young, immature, flighty, blatently rude, slow, ungracious... Shall I continue? I think you get the point.

Jack Tripper, we need your help. It's only for you that I give even 2 stars.

I really, really love the Reagle Beagle.  You may be wondering why, if I love this place so much, I would only give it four out of five stars, so let me explain.

As someone who wasn't alive for the 70s and doesn't remember the half-decade she spent in the 80s, this place is exactly how I imagine people hung out then.  The faux-luxurious pleather booths and velvet banquettes, the extreme dimness, the design-y light fixtures - it's hard to take yourself seriously in such a ridiculous environment, which, in my opinion, makes for an enjoyable night.  Another huge plus for me is the music, which is nothing but Bowie, Journey, WHAM! and their contemporaries.

As for the menu, it's fine, albeit overpriced.  The fried dough sticks are delicious, the burgers and fries are pretty good, and I seem to remember the chocolate fondue being okay (though in the interest of full disclosure there was a lot of Brady Bunch Punch between the burger and the fondue, so it's a little foggy).  I wouldn't necessarily come here for the food, but combined with the unique drinks and over-the-top atmosphere, it's a place I often crave.

The only complaint I can level against the Beagle is how they (mis-)handled the reservations I made for my birthday party.  After confirming via phone twice with two different people, we (all 15 of us) showed up to a packed house and a manager who insisted that he had no reservations for that evening.  With more friends on the way it was out of the question for us to find another bar, and after tracking down (personally!) the waitress I had spoken with not 30 minutes earlier, the manager hastily cleared out an area for us.  He was apologetic and made amends with a free round of drinks, but it's hard for me to wholeheartedly recommend a place that seems kind of poorly run.

You have to know what you're getting into at the Reagle Beagle, and if you're up for a night in the most ridiculous environment east of Michigan, you're getting into an awesome night.

Reagle Beagle is in my hood but somehow this past Friday was the first time I've ever stopped in.

We got there around 5:30 and decided just to sit at the bar. $5 pomegranate martinis were the special. The first one was nice and strong; subsequent drinks tasted like pomegranate syrup.

We had a nice time and, while I didn't really get a good look at the place because we sat at the bar, it was crowded and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Why two stars? The service (or lack thereof) was just horrendous. You'd think that sitting at the bar would alleviate some of the wait time for drinks, but the bartenders just outright ignored us. At one point after trying to get one bartender's attention for a few minutes, I stuck my arm out so that he would walk into it and look at us. The whole thing was very odd (not to mention annoying) and will definitely prevent me from going back.

::throws a Janet and Chrissy-style fit over some Jack Tripper antic::

Just kidding.

As a huge fan of a lot of music and TV from the 60s and 70s, the Reagle Beagle is my kind of pad.

The waitresses are dressed like Janet; the walls are adorned with pictures of TV show stars from Threes Company, Happy Days, and Don Knotts in Leave it to Beaver; and of course, the place had some of my favorite music playing.

The food is alright, and in some ways dangerously fatty. I got the buffalo chicken pizza which was an unusual, triangular shaped personal pizza with buffalo chicken, lots of cheese, and drizzled in ranch. It was pretty good, but I wouldn't eat it more than once a year (arteriosclerosis anyone?).

My friend got a sandwich, which he was okay with, and my other friend got the pot pie which you should NOT get (cream of chicken and vegetable canned soup for filler? BLECH!)

We also topped off our meal with some chocolate fondue that was way too oily.

Okay, so maybe don't eat the food here, or what we ordered. But come for the throwback decor, soundtrack, and to mingle with the 30something crowd.  I just may when, you know, I'm over 30.

Maybe this place doesn't deserve 5 stars, but I'm doing it for the sake of raising the rating, since this is a GREAT PLACE for lunch in the loop if you happen to be nearby.  The lunch specials are great, 6$ burgers and they are honestly some of the best in the city!  2 dollar french onion soup, sliders, etc, 5 dollar buffalo chicken strips, stop by from 11 to 2pm weekdays if you happen to be in the area.  Very unique and much better food than the nearby cnd gyro's.

And btw, Mark L, if you think it's located in a "semi-shady" block than you need to go back to disneyland!  This place is in streeterville, one of the safest and most exclusive hoods out there!  Don't be intimidated by the dark, loungy vibe of the reagle beagle, it's a very unique place with great drinks and more importantly, great, CHEAP grub!

I've only been here for lunch. It's a fun atmosphere, but kind of bi-polar in its decor. Part of it is like you're in your grandma's basement, another part feels like you're in a hip bar.

They have $5 lunches. Good, not great. But how do you go wrong with a $5 sandwich or salad?

Awesome ambiance. The whole vintage TV deal was really fun.
Our waitress was very attentive but, like other yelpers mentioned: the food took a really long time to come out.
Overall the food was alright, I got a burger... named after the landlord from 3's company I think... forgot his name. The burger itself was perfectly cooked but it wasn't super flavorful. I really liked the fries and the Pop Rocks were a really awesome touch.

It's a very lounge-y place, it seems suited for taking your time... which might be why the food comes out so slowly. If you're not in a hurry I'd suggest stopping in for a bite and reminders of some of TV's classic shows.

You take the good, you take the bad, you take 'em both and there you have the facts of life, the facts of life.

Thank you for being a friend, traveled down the road and back again...

Come and knock on our door, we've been waiting for you!

This place brought back memories of many good old days. I enjoyed looking at the old TV show photos on the wall and watching ghostbusters on TV, oh and the $2 drafts were cool. With that said, once you get past that, this place isn't really all that cool. Service is mediocre, strange after work crowd, and just not that much appeal.

I always get kicks out of anything that has to do with the 80s so this bar is definitely fun to go to.  I have been twice, once to drink where I met a really cool bartender and another time to sample the food.

I thought that the sangria was delicious and the quesadillas I had were also good-fresh, filling and well made.  Not the best cuisine I have ever had but above average for bar food.  Its a fun semi cheesy place to go, and the girl I went with and I had a really enjoyable evening of sangria drinking followed by a movie at the nearby AMC.

It is located on a semi shady block downtown but not so much that I was concerned for my safety when I was leaving.  I will return but I wont go out of my way to do it.

No more brie appetizer--boo. Still a fan, the fondue, mini burgers, and salad are all good. But the potent drinks with the quirky names are the real draw.

I'll start off by saying i love love love this place! This place was recommended to me by my coworker. I'm so glad i took her recomendation because this place is my new hang out spot. If u love those 80s shows and that 80s, 70s music then this is just the place for you. They have daily specials so thats pretty awesome. The quesadillas and the apple & blue cheese salad are my faves. They have comfy chairs and lots of couches as well. Sure its a little dark but that sort of adds to the whole theme they want to get. The bartenders are awesome. The waitresses not so much but they still get the job done.

Welcoming decor and fun pictures of celebrities from the 70s and 80s are pluses, and the service is also very good.  Not too much on tap though, only three beers I think - Peroni was one, and then I think Miller/Bud.

The location is a definite problem, though.  On the way out, about midnight on Friday, this guy asked my friend (I was in a group of four) if he'd like a shoeshine while we were in the entrance area.  My friend says no, and then just outside he starts to turn the wrong way on the street.  The original shoeshine guy's friend comes up to my friend, and tries to box him in.  I tell my friend we're going the other way.  The second homeless guy follows us for a block to the base of the stairs up to Michigan Ave., telling us he's "giving us a pass this time," with the shoeshiner following a few yards behind.  I end up pushing through the second guy's arms to get onto and up the stairs onto Michigan.

More stress than I or my friends (visiting from out of town) needed on a Friday night... way to give a good impression, Chicago.
