We had a GREAT EXPERIENCE at Razzberry Lips !!!
For my daughter , she and her friends were treated like movie stars , looking beautiful. They got to play games , dance alot and sing !
Parents were able to stay and watch or go shopping. Johnny Rocket's has a Birthday Party section , let's you bring your own cake and gives you a Razzberry Lips discount ! This was as good a birthday party as we have had or ever attended.
Well, actually, my daughter is. The place can be a time suck if you bring a girl under 12 with you. It's a bit pricy, but anything you buy here will make a great present.
On 8/10/08 I received the following message from 5-star reviewer Connie C. of Lahaina, HI:
"SUBJECT HEADER: Please call me at 408.866.7299 (store number).
BODY OF MESSAGE: I would like to get a better idea of the experience you had so I can rectify it."
I responded: "Referencing what experience???"
No response to my message. Instead, I received a friend request. AND HERE IS THE BODY OF THE FRIEND REQUEST:
"Hi Linda,
Too fat and ugly to post real pictures of yourself ???? "
NICE!
I went into Connie C.'s profile and determined that the only issue we had in common was Razzberry Lips. I also noticed that Connie C. (of Lahaina, HI?), posted the following review (which has since been removed):
"5 star rating

We visited this store while on vacation ( yes, people who live in Maui actually do vacation elsewhere) ! Me and my two daughters LOVE this store! We were just wandering around a mall and stumbled upon this little girl's heaven . They each got rock star makeovers and it was their highlight of the vacation !"
Now - if, in fact, Connie C. is the owner of RL as her message to me would suggest, I am offended beyond all get-up. I am a well educated, smart person living a comfortable lifestyle. I'm not beyond spending money on my kids and their friends. I don't like to be taken for a fool - or presumed to be so stupid that I wouldn't see through a ruse.
On the flip side, if Connie C. was genuinely a reviewer and wanting to help the business, she could have gone about it differently so as to separate herself from the business.
Small note:
RL is a niche business at the moment, but that won't last for long. They have a great concept, they just need to listen (or read) the input. They are targeting a demographic and they need to serve that demographic just as they would if they catered to adults. Yes, the adults may be the one's with the money, but it's the tweens who are chosing this place. If they don't have a great experience, trust me, they are on their phones texting before any parent can get home to Yelp.
Texting trees are quicker than us Yelpers, that's for sure. Know your demographic and show them that you really want their business - because these kids are smart enough to know to take their (or parents) money elsewhere. Don't shoot yourself in the foot by failing to recognize who is choosing to walk through your doors. Again, great concept, just needs some tuning up - perhaps in the area of customer care. And learn to accept criticism constructively and seek a positive course of action when attempting to resolve critical issues.

Bad employees with bad attitudes? Maybe. If you are going to aim your business towards tween/teen… Read more »
I came into this store with another adult friend of mine who was looking for some gloves.
There were about 3 teen girls (employees) sitting around yapping with each other and nobody even acknowledged us. They looked at us, but didn't say a word. When my friend asked if they carried dress gloves the girls seemed bothered to have to answer our question. I asked about how much their ear piercing was and another girl said she didn't know.
Great customer service!! NOT.
We had Jamie's 10th birthday party here based on the award they won from the san jose mercury as best place for a girls birthday party.
We were thrilled that they met our high expectations !
Clarissa loved her birthday party here and so did I.
I read about Razzberry Lips online because they won an award for best place for a girls birthday party from the San Jose Mercury newspaper. What great fun and a good value.
Never in my daughters life has she enjoyed a birthday party as much as this one. I think the best part for the girls was that after they got their rock star makeovers the party leader took them into the mall area for a really cool dance! After all, rock stars like attention!
This place is not welcome to people who just want to browse the store. No hello, no may I help you... customer service gets an "F". My wife and I joked that no one worked there, despite the fact that the worker was sitting dead center of the store buffing her fingernails.
Although a handful of the clothing there is cute, there are only 2 racks of clothes in its entirety, including sleepwear. Most of it was out of season, and the store lacks quality and innovation.
I can't say much for the parties, but that they do not go hand in hand with their service.
Don't go here during the week. No fun.
I took my two daughters to the store and we found it very inviting both on the outside and inside.
We bought some snazzy items and gifts.
The Customer Service was very good and the slaes clerk was helpful in picking out the items and gifts that I bought.
I plan to have a birthday party there for my oldest daughter.
I really like Razzberry lips. The staff is always happy and upbeat and it is a great place for girl's parties. Although, parties a little pricey for a large group of kids
If you come for a party or just for shopping i would recommend parya or paria I dont know how to spell her name but she was very helpful. She helped us in every way possible and she even did a WONDERFUL makeover. This young girl that i took there for fun had a great time. She loved everything and came out as good as new!
Razzberry Lips is a lot like the Sanrio store, with lots of cutesy items that appeal to little girls and way more pink than should appear in one place. The apparently do piercings and birthday parties (I'm guessing generally not together).
We had a party here for 6 year old girls. The staff was friendly and really patient with the kids -- who were a bit overwhelmed by all the toys, clothes, hairstuff, lotions, games and dancing. It took the moms' attention to keep the girls focused a bit, but it worked fine. It is certainly dad kryptonite (all the pink, let alone seeing their daughter in makeup).
I'm not a girlie girl in the least, but the kids seem to adore being the center of attention, getting all fancy and having fun with each other. It's perfect for parties catering to the princess phase of girls' lives. Also, their webkinz addiction.
if my daughter loves it , i love it. one of the best girlie girl stores around. lots of cute gifts and girl things
