    Damn.

This place makes Richie Rich look like....I dont know I cant think of anything. But you get where I was going with it.

A freaking museum at a high school.

Yes these kids are so rich not only do they have their own museum but its filled with dinosaur related things they uncovered in field trips.

Which leads me to the question. Can you just find dinosaur bones and keep them?

It is free on Wednesday so obviously thats when I went  (note my review is for the free day because I am cheap )

There is two stories. The first has mostly dinosaur bones etc.

    http://www.yelp.com/bi...

The second floor has some interactive exhibits for kids like a dig pit and a puzzle dinosaur skeleton.

I blew through the place in 15 minutes but if you looked at everything etc maybe a hour. Or if you are a slow reader....2 hours?

If you read that slow....... sorry for the time you wasted reading this.

    FREE WEDNESDAYS!!!

You'd be amazed at what you can find in Claremont,CA!
This cute little museum is located on the campus of the Webb School. Parking is free, and they have a TON of fossils!!! (They also have a Chinese Terra Cotta Warrior Statue... kinda random, but also pretty cool!)

The kids love going downstairs and taking the big dino-puzzle apart, playing in the dig pit, and stamping out fossil footrprints! A must for anyone with little ones new to the area! Also a great place for school or scout  groups because it's small enough to keep track of a group while keeping them entertained for a few hours!

The place is great.  The problem is it belongs to the Webb schools and if they really cared they would bus in and teach kids who can't afford to get here.  Poor people like dinosaurs too.

FREE every Wednesday, Parking is FREE.  $3 per person, 4 and under FREE.  No strollers, but they have parking station for them.

My toddler and I enjoyed the museum.  My toddler favorite things were the dinosaurs, downstairs they have a discovery section that you pull down a lever to hear the sound of a dinosaur, looking at the mirror and comparing the size of himself to the dinosaur, and digging for fossils.

This is a 1-2 hour museum.  Not crowded.

What we did to make it a day was go to Memorial Park in Claremont and had a picnic lunch - they have a wading pool for the kids during the summer months from 11:30am - 1:30pm.  After lunch headed over there.

Oh my 'lanta I'm a dork. So my bf brought me here, at first I didn't know why, I just thought it was something to do. I knew we were going to the Alf Museum but i playfully kidded around that it was Alf the puppet.

As we were paying the 3 dollar donation per person and talking to the director of the museum I turned my head to look behind her and I screamed "OMG, DINOSAURS!!" The director then laughed and said a lil comment that I thought was rude but w/e....and then I knew why he brought me here. Awe he knows my love of dinosaurs. I'm like a six yr old boy.

This is a cool lil hidden gem. Its absolutely amazing what was left behind and how much can be established from bones and such. Its small but trust me you'll be in a Jurassic mood after this one.

A few weeks ago at the Walnut Library I picked up a flyer for "Prehistoric California" event on 03 May at the Alf Museum. My friend and I were instantly sold when we saw the last bullet statement, "Create your own hunting bear-dog". We had no idea what that meant, but I was convinced it was taxidermy.

The museum is located on one of the Webb school campuses, surrounded by a beautiful environment full of trees. Most of the things on exhibit have been discovered by the students and teachers here, and the collection here is pretty impressive. There's fossil animal footprints, dinosaur eggs, and skulls. They even have a terracotta warrior!

I found it to be a good way to spend an hour and a half.
As for the activity of the day... The craft ended up being a colouring sheet of a bear-dog which can move when you pull the tab. It was not as exciting as taxidermy, but still entertained me. Then again I'm amused easily...

This place is pretty nice the tour was nice the women that gave the tour were a little rude at first until they realized the children weren't idiots and they actually knew a thing or two about paleontology. They have fun activities for children and the scenery is very nice.
