Great for football .. NOT so great for food.

I was overly excited to try this place out .. and I was HIGHLY disappointed.

Yes it is cool to have TVs @ your table and in every corner of the restaurant .. but this is still a restaurant. And I do expect decent food. What I got was sub par wings and ribs and a server with a SERIOUS attitude problem.

Luckily the college games were on .. or I would have left. But we stayed until the end of the game and headed out..NEVER to return again.

I hate to say it .. but TGIF has better food. And I can go to another sports bar to watch the games.

Sorry Ray .. I wanted to love it .. really I did ..

I tried to go here for dinner today. The atmosphere was kinda nice, but not many people were inside. We were sat, and when the waiter comes to our table, the first thing he says, "We don't have pork, we don't have pulled chicken, we don't have beef brisket"... which was about 3/4 of their menu. So... we got up and left to go to Outback next door.

We walked in and immediately I knew it was a bad idea. The hostess' (Man and woman) muttered something like "Follow-me" and sat us in the back of the place by the bar. The waitress was a bit slow on the uptake and messed up my friends order something fierce (I said NO tomatoes; I'm ALLERGIC"). All of the food absolutely sucked except for the ribs which were average. Bottom line: Walk 20 steps to the Outback next door or Red Fish 2 blocks down.

I went to Ray's the first time I came to Baltimore and I liked it. I moved here and live right down the street so now I mostly do take out. The place does have a nice atmosphere and was created for Raven's/ sports fans with TV's at nearly every table. I was never really a fan of Ray Lewis as I am a New England fan but I cannot deny good home cooking. For those who do not know, Ray's mother run's the kitchen and his sister runs the restaurant and you can see mom's influence in the kitchen. My husband and I usually get the ribs, mac 'n cheese, and collard greens.
The meal can be a bit pricey I guess but good food is good food so I really don't mind. The  ribs are good and you can tell that whoever is cooking back there, they are cooking for football players because the food will fill you up. As far as ribs go, as anyone should know, they are very subjective. Theer are many different styles of ribs, Memphis BBQ, Texas BBQ, North Carolina BBQ, etc...So if you come wanting ribs with just a rub and no sauce, this may not be your best choice because these ribs do have sauce, and a good amount of it too. The sauce is good to me.
I am not one who demands a lot from servers or restaurants because I have worked in the service industry and can simpathize with what they have to endure but I do demand good service and quality food and felt that this place definitely met that. Sometimes though the hostess' do seem to be less than interested in people and I think a staffing change would do the trick but like I said, I do take out and that is just fine by me.
