My husband and I went to these folks. Our returns are very simple. We asked for the estimate which they of course did not give immediately, lest you should walk out the door then and there.
The female spoke to us and told us that if we did not want to go into the details, it would cost $75 and with the details for expenses, it would cost $150 as they would have to ask us more questions. I do not think that there is a fixed rate.
We were given no actual tax guidance. I have read books on filing tax and browsed the internet and learnt more. When we went back to get more details, the male discouraged us from asking questions and said that nothing was tax deductible. He further said that if he were to answer those questions, it would cost more. I really wish that I hadn't gone through these guys and just filed with TaxAct for $10 as I always do. So much for trusting a CPA (??) to provide tax advice. Avoid these folks!!!
