St. Louis BBQ and Louisiana crabs, what a cool combination!
I tried to get takeout here around 12 Noon on Sunday, but there was a sign posted on the door for a 1:00PM opening. I went over to the mall and returned at 1:00PM with a large group of bikers already seated enjoying mussels, crabs, and Coronas.
This restaurant offers takeout counter service and dine-in service with booth and table seating and large TVs in the dining room. Rascals serves up BBQ specialties, fresh crabs flown in from the docks of Louisiana, burgers, sandwiches, southern style apps, mussels, catfish strips, large Gulf shrimp, cream of crab soup, and salads. Pepsi products and bottled and draft beer served.
I really wanted a Crab Cake to bring back home for later, so I ordered the Homemade Louisiana Crab Cake Sandwich ($9.95) served with one side (I chose hush puppies). The food did take a while to be ready, 17 minutes. The crab cake was very big and thick with a good combination of crab meat, spices, and filling, great flavors. The small corn meal hush puppies were nice and crispy, good semi-sweet flavor and not salty like LJS. I enjoyed this Louisiana specialty at my home in NH. Yum!
NOTE: I noticed that there should be outdoor patio seating very soon.
COOL TIDBIT: Check out the entrance and exit pavement markings in and out of Rascals, the enter arrow is on the left side and the exit arrow is on the right side. Please be careful and drive safely. Very rascally!
