Ladies with long hair - no need to fret any longer! Rapunzel is above and beyond anything that I've ever expected in my 20-year history with long hair and in-between salons.
Terri is my one - AND ONLY - stylist. After having her work on your hair, you'll always feel amazing about the coloring, the cut, EVERYTHING. Like Wendy R. said, she is definitely a perfectionist.
I haven't gotten a mani- or pedi- there, but from the last time I was there, I know they've got chairs for ladies inclined for some nail R&R. The atmosphere is very spa-like for the little place that it is - it's comfortable, nonetheless.
The best part of your day at Rapunzel, after receiving an upgraded look? Debuting it on Big Basin Way at the boutiques, cafes, and yummy restaurants they've got all around them.
I recently started going to Rapunzel and really like it. Danielle is a great hair dresser. She's easy to talk with, and very flexible with scheduling.
The place is nicely decorated and not pretentious. Very comfortable, but modern.
Oh man this is my favorite hair salon. It's cute, small, and feels like a spa more than anything else. The chairs are comfortable and the place is always very clean and airy and happy.
I came here when I followed my hairdresser Alieh who I've been going to for over 15 years and she's amazing. I also have a friend who's really happy with Terri.
It's a little pricey but always worth is as I feel like my haircuts last as a style, even after it's grown out. Hooray!
After endless stylist-hunting I finally found one I'm going to stick with! Pareesa is amazing and I loove my haircuts I've gotten from her. She knows what looks good and how to cut my coarse, thick, long hair so that it feels light but doesn't look flat. It also helps that this salon is soooo cute and looks like the inside of a fairytale home!
&&I'm not sure exactly how it works but they only accept credit cards for certain services. Remember to bring cash!
So I went in today because I really needed a hair cut (my last one was in August) and I didn't feel like booking an appointment. I also wanted something close to my house. I called Rapunzel Hair Salons, asked them how much it was and if I could get it done today. The guy who answered my phone was a bit nonchalant about it, but whatever. So I was able to go in immediately (I arrived 5 minutes after I called).
I only got a cut, but it looked pretty nice. Kellie, the hair designer I had, was really nice and listening to everything I said. She gave me a shampoo and a cut. Although it was a bit pricey ($40), it's Saratoga (which means to expect it to be a bit expensive) and it was worth it.
^^
Also, when you refer a certain number of people (I'm not sure if it's just Kellie who offered this) you get a free haircut.
Terri rocks! I have been going there for about 4 years and have never had someone do color so well. I look forward to the salon, it is always a great experience for me. She spends a lot of time on my hair and is a perfectionist so I never worry that I won't get what I want. She listens to what I want and delivers!
Go and see Parissa. She is the best.
I always have problems when I go in for a haircut because I have longish hair and stylists hate me. Seriously, here is some advice for you stylists out there - back off! It is ok for some people to have long hair. I know that it is not the most fun to cut, but you have to accept this small fact and move on. (ok, so I have had some not so great experiences...)
That being said, Parissa is wonderful. She understands long-haired girls like myself. At no time during my cut and highlight did Parissa complain about the length of my hair nor my desire to maintain a simple style. She actually listened to my request and gave me a beautiful haircut.
Of course it is a bit pricey for me, but I have rationalized this by thinking of my happy experience and the long mileage I have gotten out of the cut. Plus it's your hair, it's on your head and there's not a lot you can do to disguise it once it's been screwed up.
Oh and I almost forgot, you are welcome to enjoy tea, coffee, water or wine at anytime during your visit. Make an afternoon appointment so you can relax and enjoy the vino...
I always get my hair done by Sue ... because she is the only one i can trust with my hair. Ive been going to her for 6 to 7 years and she knows how to make my hair perfect in shape and color. ive gotton my hair dyed by her in so many colors and she is always helpful in choosing the right tone for me while still having the color i had in mind. Sue makes it look so natural , as if it was my origianl hair color and it usually looks good even when my roots grow out.
she has always been able to cut my hair from short to long just the way i want it even when im vague about the style i want... and when it grows out it still looks good and keeps its shape. Ive gotten my hair cut by some others and they messed my hair up but Sue managed to save it.
She even did my hair for prom and it stayed perfect for the whole night!
Ask for Sue because she is so friendly , helpful and talented.
And when she is done, even before i step outside i get sooo many compliments on my hair.
my former roommate julie used to own this salon, and was also a stylist there. i never said this to her, but i'll say it now. way over-rated! for the price you pay, i expected so much better. it is a very cute little salon in downtown saratoga though-- and i always loved the name.
