I was here on a Sunday afternoon, and was in and out within the hour. I didn't have Dr. Powers, but the doc and nurse (or could have been a PA, I didn't ask) I did have were really cool and thorough. This is easily the greatest Urgent Care experience I've ever had, and I'd trust them with my friends and loved ones. Highly recommended.
One note: The entrance is on Windsor, rather than on Chevy Chase.
Okay, Dr. Powers is awesome. Usually I hate when doctors joke around with me, but he was the perfect mix of funny & informative.
Let me back up. I was dancing last night at my friend's birthday party in Echo Park. I guess I got a bit too rock & roll because I fell on my left foot in this really weird way and when it looked like a balloon this morning I decided I better do something about it.
Thanks to Yelp I found out about Rapid Care. It's much faster than going to the ER- I got there, filled out some paperwork, waited awhile, and then got taken into a room. The nurse was a really sweet guy. He took my vitals and then got the doctor.
Dr. Powers had to press on my foot, which REALLY hurt, but he told me that ahead of time and I was grateful for his honesty. He made lots of jokes that let you know he's kind of crazy and incredibly smart. The x-ray tech wheeled me back to the machine and took a few shots of my foot. He was wonderful too; really sweet, gentle, and nice to talk to. Well, turns out I have 2 broken bones and have to go see an orthopedist in a few days to get some type of cast. Dr. Powers explained exactly what happened to my foot and then gave me all the instructions I needed; he even said it was okay if I borrowed the x-rays to show the next doctor. Dr. Powers didn't talk down to me the way some doctors do- he said things in medical language and then explained it in layman terms.
Wow, I've gotten hurt before and gone to ERs and even other urgent care centers. They were nothing like this place. The difference is pretty much heaven vs. hell. At this place you get treated with respect and kindess. If I get hurt again (I really hope not) I will be back to see the Rapid Care crew.
Excellent Urgent care center. I went in for a chest infection. The was only one person before me so the wait time was only 15 mins. Dr Powers was very nice and thorough. He sent me off with Antibotics and I am all better now.
I was sick for 4 days and had no clue what was going on and I wasn't getting any better. So I decided to goto the doctor.
I had that stomach virus that has been attacking everyone. Anyway went here got in right away. The doctor and staff was very friendly and took care of you. They wrote the prescription and I picked it up in the pharmacy next door 10 min later. They really know what they are doing and don't screw around here.
Only downside are some of the people in the waiting room were wearing way too much cheap cologne and it made my GF vomit. Besides that this place is the place to go for a walk in medical clinic.
i have never had such caring doctors and nurses while going to an urgent care facility....
i was really sick and really scared...
turned out i need to go to the ER and Dr. Powers called Glendale Adventist and made sure i didnt have to wait.
i showed up to the ER, signed in, and was immediatelt ushered to a bed. now, thats service.
Rapid Care was very thorough and didnt just write me a Rx and send me on my way....
i have been there two times.
i even misplaced a Rx and they replaced it in a snap.
like all urgent care facilities, there can be a wait at times. but, heck, if u need help and ur Primary Care Physician is booked, i would recoomend Rapid Care to everyone.

once again, a great place to go for antibiotics! (if this shit mutates, i'm screwed.) the staff is very friendly. i'm usually seated within 30-45 mins, which is not bad for dropping in. it's close to my house and perfect for when i want immediate care rather than waiting a week to get an appointment with my doctor. plus, once they write you a prescription, there's a pharmacy in the building so you don't have to make an extra trip. the guy even gave me a free dasani so i could take my pills immediately. this place is great. except bring something to read bc their magazine collection sucks. and sometimes Dr. Powers jokes around too much and won't tell me what i have! it was like a guessing game last time. but when i got a rare case of scarlet fever (i know, i thought it was eradicated, too) Dr. Powers did shoot me up with meds and make me feel waayy better. so i gotta give this place a solid 4 stars.
