Raphael did an incredible job photographing our wedding. He was very professional, accommodating and organized, and made a point to scout out the location beforehand to get a good sense of the area for directing specific shots and prime time sun reflection -- this proved to be a success, as our photos came out looking stunning.
He has a great eye for detail when shooting both people and objects, which I very much appreciated. Plus he did quite a great job capturing the moment -- gracefully catching all of us in extreme moments of happiness, anxiety, and everything in between. -

Raphael is both talented and a trouper!
He photographed me and the lovelies during First Friday Follies and got some incredible shots. I know the burlesque girls are photogenic to begin with, but he really caught the girls with their "dance face" on.
The show is kind of a madhouse, tons of celebrants crammed in at the Stork Club. Raph set up early, held his ground, and fought his way to the front for some great close-ups. As soon as I've picked my favorite, I'll post it.
The only thing that could have been better about the photos is if I could get a time-machine and future Margaret could tell past Margaret to put some more powder on! I don't know where to go for a time machine, but I'd recommend Raph to anyone looking for an event photographer. -

I was looking for a new photo for my office brochure. In previous photos, some taken by other photographers, I felt I looked inappropriately young, myopic, or just plain unhappy. Since I am a chiropractor by profession, it is important to capture a friendly but competent appearance. Raphael put me at ease within a few minutes and got the "right" picture. Plus we took a few shots with a staff member and all were good to frame.

After we had decided on what I needed for my company's annual photo shoot and agreed to a price, I then realized that I needed pictures taken on two different days. Clearly this would entail more work for him but Raph didn't bat an eye and even made me feel like if that's what I needed that's what he was going to deliver.
He showed up on time and made us feel relaxed during the shoot. Within a week I had the disk of the photos delivered to my office and they were great. I needed pictures of my office, my rental cars, my staff and then all three at the same time. He provided high res and low res pictures on the same disk.
About a week after I had received the disk he emailed me to make sure I was pleased and once again I got the feeling that if I asked him to take more pictures he would have done it. This is how you not only satisfy a customer but make the customer loyal. -

Raph really blew us away with his thoroughness, professionalism, and the quality of his work.
He shot our wedding in Berkeley in March. Without being asked, he and his assistant scouted the location in advance to identify good spots for the group shots. When the time came to shoot, he knew exactly where to go and when to get the best light.
At the ceremony and reception, he and his assistant got fantastic coverage of everything and all our guests.
The albums he delivered, a large one for us, and several smaller ones for giving as gifts, were gorgeous. We feel really good giving these beautiful objects to our family.
Raph is also the only wedding photographer, of the five or six we looked at, who was willing to provide us with digital copies of the photos at no extra cost. Most wedding photographers, in addition to the large initial fee, also maintain a monopoly on reprints by retaining the original digital images. Some are willing to give you the digital files for thousands of dollars. Raph gives them to you for free.
All our beautiful wedding photos are up on flickr, so we can share them with distant friends and family. Other professional photographs would charge you an arm and a leg for this privilege.
From our initial conversations, through the day of the event, to delivery of the albums later, every interaction we had with Raph was positive. He was a treat to work with, and we couldn't be happier with the results. -

Raphael ROCKS!!! Not only do I now have a great photo to include with my bio when my films are screening in festivals, it is also my intention to hire Raphael for a national ad campaign shoot that I am orchestrating for an Environmental Justice group, not to mention I want Raphael to come co-teach with me sometime in the near future when I am telling young folks about the power of image making/capture... that's how great Raphael is, I want to work with him in many capacities around his passion for pictures! Yay! Good guy who takes great photos, what more could you ask for?

Raphael did an amazing job at our wedding. He went and scouted the location in advance, and had some wonderful ideas on how and where to shoot. The pictures are gorgeous - everyone looks great, and I really feel like he captured the moment. I would recommend him for any event.
