Our corporate travel agency has a sick sense of humor.
I finally understand what they mean by "centrally located."
Yeah, located in the center of nowhere.
This place is just ok. It's dated.
Make sure you give your starwood preferred guest number so you can get the top floor which is 10x nicer than the rest.
They did earn an extra star because they nailed me with my one weakness.
I love all things Christmas. And the lobby is scented with spiced cider smell that reminds me of Christmas.
Yule.
Ugh, this place is beyond words. I came here to spend a weekend with my girlfriend in Minneapolis so we could just get away from the hustle and bustle of Chicago for awhile.
When we pulled up to the hotel, I instantly got a feeling that something was off with this place. Just by looking at the exterior of the hotel, I felt the experience would not be pleasant.
Then we entered, it was surprisingly neat and pleasant looking. The staff was very helpful, and when I asked to be placed on the highest floor, they told me I already was - what I didn't know was that the top floor was already reserved for SPG members. So we get to the top floor and exit the elevator and are both hit with incredible heat and humidity as well as a musky smell.
Our room was ok, not great.. The woman told me it had a view, and it did - of the parking lot, which by the way looked fabulous.. :\. The carpet was stained and the paint in the bathroom was chipped in parts. I was not happy.
The pool was even worse, it both looked and smelled completely disgusting, as if it hadn't been cleaned in months. The sauna was out of order, and was small enough to only fit my girlfriend and I in tightly. Then there was the hot tub. It almost looked like you see a layer of filth on the surface. ACK!
Do not go to this hotel, for your own sanity, DO NOT GO!
We stayed here for a few days and found it to be an ok place. Nothing special, just ok. We did not care about the location as we were planning on driving all around town anyway. The room was clean and not cramped. The front desk folk were on the lower end of the friendly scale.
I have no idea what we paid to stay, so it must not been too much as I did not bitch about it.
