They don't honor AAA discount unless you pay the rate that's $30 higher than the rate they give everyone.  What kind of sense does that make?  So rather than pay $140 w/tax to get a 10% discount, I paid $112 and got no discount.

The internet price on their website for the room, is $93.  They would not honor it.

Maybe the OC fire made them a bit greedy to monopolize on Irvine residents heading their way.

The room was good, 2 queen beds, very clean throughout, cable, functioning A/C and hot water.

Bed:  Comfortable!  I passed out in 5 minutes.

Shower:  Massaging head, with generous waterflow.  Not good for the environment, but great for your shower experience.

Outdoor pool and jacuzzi.  I don't think many ppl use this.

Free:  Wireless internet, parking.  Bottled water at check-in.
Complimentary breakfast after 6:30am.
Donuts, juice, coffee, milk, very basic pastries, some fruits.  Not bad!

Get your reservation off a website like travelocity, instead of through the hotel.  It'll save you at least $10, and high blood pressure from knowing you are getting ripped off on principle.

BEWARE of booking this hotel through Hotwire or other online travel sites.  They all rate this as a three-star.  However, if you check unbiased sources like JDPowers, this is a budget chain--NOT a Radisson, NOT a Holiday Inn, like Hotwire claims when it gives you other example chains.

Read the Tripadvisor reviews, and this place will scare you (roaches, bed bugs, blackened, sticky carpets).  I am one angry Hotwire customer.  Not even my credit card would dispute this because of Hotwire's ALL SALES FINAL policy.  I have appealed to both Hotwire and Citi cards and got nowhere.

Times are hard;  Vacations are precious; and we don't need this crap from greedy travel companies who exaggerate their hotel ratings in order to get more business.

My advice:  go directly to the hotel's website, use your AAA or other discount options, pay in advance online, and your rate will be almost exactly that of Hotwire.  At least you know exactly the hotel, the kind of bed, etc.  No bad surprises.
