The ambiance and decor of this place is outstanding and does deserve 5 stars. The back dinning area which is only open for dinner is stunning. Waterfall and transparent curtains cover the booths and seating areas.
Unfortunately the food is deserving of 2 stars. For the price of the meals I expected authenticity and quality, but was disappointed in receiving watered down flavors and prepared gringo style.
Still a good experience. I suggest coming for the drinks and atmosphere.
I always thought this place was a rip off. I've been here 2x and both times the food was terrible. It's difficult to expand on how bad this place is. Sure, the dining room itself is gorgeous and the water wall in the back is super cool for an SD joint. But I can't look past everything else. The last time I went they were out of several, well known liquors that I tried to order, stuff like Sapphire and Skyy. I'm not a complainer and it's not a deal breaker like finding out your GF was a man in a past life, but the bartender couldn't give a shit less about my drink and was being a total ass, which made it that much worse and enabled me to remember it a year later. I expect better when ordering a $12 cocktail. At a nightclub I can let it slide but at an empty restaurant bar it's unacceptable. What goes around comes around though, how'd you like that $0 tip chief?
Aside from service the food is just plain bad. My meal both times was luke warm and even if it was warm it would've been terrible. Worst chicken pad thai I've ever had both times I went. It's expensive, there's a wait and it's not spicy. This is not Thai food but rather a sub par eatery trying to shovel shit as Thai food and take advantage of a cool restaurant name and the fact that Thai places are getting really popular.
This review would be 1 star but they have silk curtains over the booths for privacy so if you want to try to go to 3rd base before they serve your food tell your date not to wear panties.
The place is nice inside, but I don't really care about that. I'm there for the food and it was just ok, nothing great.
The mojito I ordered was very weak and just tasted like sugary mint soda. I ordered the bird's nest, which was chicken, shrimp and vegetables. Both the chicken and the shrimp were tough and overcooked. My girlfriend [who is Asian] ordered a spicy duck dish and she wanted it "thai style" spicy as in a 10. The waiter had to make sure she really wanted it because that is really spicy. When the dish was brought out I tried it and it was like a -1 on the spicy scale.
This place is not "as tasty as your local "hole in the wall" joint but are served with better plates." like another reviewer said. Go to Sab-e-lee in Linda Vista to compare and then tell me I'm wrong.
Good thai food in a pretentious downtown setting is what I would describe this place.
Ambiance: The decor of this place is deserving of 5 stars. If you're looking for a great date place, this is it! Their booths offer a more private setting for couples. The lights are dimmed low and there are curtains everywhere, including a waterfall in the back. It is a beautiful place to dine.
Food: The food is as tasty as your local "hole in the wall" joint but are served with better plates. They also have some specialty dishes and plenty of libations for you to sip on. However, because of the nice ambiance and it's location, expect your meal to be more on the expensive side.
Parking: It's in downtown, nuff said.
Final thoughts: Great place to go for celebrating with friends and family or for dates and special occassions. If you're just looking for take-out on an idle Tuesday, save this place for another day.
Having been to celadon so many times I thought I would finally try Rama. The owner is actually a family friend so I thought I would finally give it a shot. The golden shrimp was surprisingly wonderful and duck curry was perfect for my taste. I like the shrimp tom yum from lotus thai better but ramas wasnt bad. The only thing I would not order again was the steak salad (yum nua) cause it was not very good. Very nice decor and very attentive staff, The meal for 3 people with 2 rounds of drinks came to 160 with tip. Not expensive for the location at all
A great Thai Food date in Downtown San Diego in the Gaslamp District.
Modern decor and seating arrangements.
This is a great date place! I took my girlfriend here and we loved it. Food and ambiance are really good and you can sit at booths that have a curtain thing hanging down from the ceiling in front of it so it is a bit more private, check out the pics on their website and you'll see what I am talking about.
The only think that pissed me off about the place was that we ordered a bottle of wine for $40 and about a week later saw the same bottle of wine at Trader Joes for $3.50.
My honey loves the Tom Kai Soup!!! I have to give it to him.. its pretty good! I'm good on Thai.. I like the fried rice... being from St. Louis we like gravy on our rice.. so they make me gravy for my rice! Nice huh for the locals! The lunch specials are the best deals! The back of the place in nice, but its in the back.. I prefer sitting outside...and I do love the fried egg rolls.. or is it the dippin sauce! Gotta have dippin sauce!
It was a Saturday birthday dinner for a friend with a group of 10. The appointed time was 7pm, but Asian-time was in full effect. The complete group assembled about 7:55 so we had ample time to sample the bar service. Good drinks and cool bartenders. One of the girls had a drink that didn't fit her taste and they were happy to replace it. Though we were running late the host was really cool and accommodating. For a Saturday seemed to be a light crowd, which I'm sure helped our situation. The floor plan is unique; the floor space goes pretty deep into the building with a bar and dining tables street side. You walk down a hallway to get to the rear dining area which also has its own bar and quite a bit more seating, where our table was set. It's got a really good feel to it. The décor is cozy with a bit of sexy. Tall ceilings with long, flowing, semi-transparent curtains create a sense of intimacy.
I don't have a great familiarity with Thai food so one of the girls ordered a good variety of dishes. Everything was great. The stand-out was the Gai Yang (Thai BBQ chicken). So flavorful. Honestly if we weren't in mixed company I woulda got medieval on that chicken & left a pile of bones on that plate! Grrrrr... So, yes I would recommend that one for sure ;) Dessert was a sweet rice & mango combo that really hit the spot. Prices were reasonable, good food & service. Bookmarking this one for sure.
Decent Thai food, especially for the area (where most restaurants are tourist traps and therefore suck ass). The space is really cool, and I love the long hallway to get into the main restaurant. The staff was all very friendly and did their jobs well. The food is a bit overpriced, but it is downtown, so I guess that's expected.
The spicy factor is seriously lacking though. Even the waiter said it's americanized. A 10/10 is actually more akin to a 5/10 at a more authentic place.
Good food, SUPER expensive.
Their food is on par with some of the better (but not best) thai places I've been to, and their prices are almost DOUBLE. Actually, I think they ARE double for some dishes.
I came with a group and we ordered fresh spring rolls, pad thai (tofu), red curry with chicken and yum woonsen (noodle salad).
Everyone liked all the dishes. My favorite was the yum woonsen and the curry. REALLY good flavoring. My friends liked the pad thai but I did not. I've had way better. It was clumpy and sticky.
Anyway, if the prices were lower I would have given it 4 stars. But who wants to pay 16 dollars for a dish that is usually 6? Even if there are fancy elephants and fun decorations on the wall....
Great Thai food downtown...
Went on a Saturday for lunch.
Not busy at all, so the servers were all attentive.
I believe they gave us free salad (peanut butter tasting dressing) before our entrees arrived.
The food is pretty good and they even gave us FREE dessert afterwards! Coconut ice cream with fried banana fritters covered in sesame seeds.
After those FREE items, i'll be back real soon.
Only negative includes: 1. May be hard to find parking & 2. Prices a bit too steep ($16 for curry entrees).
This place is pretty much the bee's knees when it comes to good Thai food. It's a little place at the end of a long hallway on a seeming side-street to all that is hip in downtown. I love the speakeasy style to the restaurant... how you walk down that hallway to get back there, feeling like you're walking through a portal in the earth that transports your body to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya or Phuket, depending on your preference, while a short gay Thai man named "Boo" greets you at the door. (I've been watching a lot of the Sci-Fi channel lately.)
Cool dazzling drapery hangs everywhere, providing some privacy but not too much, as it is still see-thru and prevents couples from secret sex acts with their hands under the white tablecloths. The music is some sweet trip-hop like Hooverphonic or Ralph Myers, trippy but not too psychedelic and perfect eating/dinner party tunes. The entire back wall is a huge rock waterfall--Return to the Blue Lagoonish--and really inspires me to go an Australian walkabout... or an overnight camping trip.
Food-wise, order the drunken noodles, the Mee-Krab, Cashew Chicken, Yellow Curry and the Pineapple Fried Rice. The food is so good that you'd never know the place was owned by a rich party-boy that has creditors knocking down his door at all hours of the day. Hence the wine list... or shall I say, "lack" of a wine list.
This place is big on the ambiance. For that , I would go again.
The best part about our order was the drunken noodles with tofu - they really were well prepared. Both were delicious. What I did not like was the shrimp/chicken dish we ordered. It was too expensive and bland. It was off the "chef special" menu in the back, i forgot what it was called. The spring rolls were great too, very pleasant texture. I would come back, for lunch which is cheaper and probably more worth it. It's a great place to get food at if you have anything to do at the convention center.
Went for dinner with a group of five and had a very enjoyable evening. The food is essentially Thai with a bit of a nouvelle or American twist. As another reviewer noted, nothing was very spicy, though they did bring us peppers to spice things up a bit.
All of the dishes we tried were good, particularly the Panang and Red curries. The host was a bit distracted but our waiter was superb.
Restaurant decor is trendy but executed nicely enough. Few if any tourists despite the location. We were surprised at how LOW the prices were.
Summary :Decent meal with good service and classy Zen ambiance.
Detail: Was right around the corner from my hotel and was totally worth it to walk down and have a decent meal for a few more bucks and avoid circling around to look for parking for 40 min.
Another plus ....not one of those places that make you feel uncomfortable if you are by yourself.
Ordered cashew nut chicken on some yelpers tip-it was clean healthy food and just enough (came with rice). paid $16 + tip. I think I will try the curry or pad thai next time.
I went there for lunch while I was in town. The service was horrible and the prices for lunch were pretty steep. The only deeming quality was that the food was good. I probably won't be back and would not recommend this restaurant when there are so many other thai restaurants with much better service and food.
i would give this place four stars about 5 years ago, but recently I came here with a friend and although the ambiance was nice, the experience was horrible! had reservations at 730 on a Friday night, didn't get seated until 9. when we finally got seated, they didn't set up our tables until 9:15. we wanted to order right away since we had plans the rest of the night, but the guy who setting up table wasn't out server, so we waited another 10 min for the server to come...when he did we ordered 2 drinks, tom yum soup, pad Thai, and pineapple rice. brought us drinks 10 min later, but the food took forever, so we canceled one of the orders since we lost our appetite and was in a rush. pad thai was bland, but we didnt care at that point, asked for the check right away and by the time we left it was past 11! they were obviously understaffed, I was reading the yelp reviews as we were waiting the whole time, should have left in the beginning, oh well...lesson learned.
A Rama with a View
Bangkok is exactly 83 steps from my front door (well, maybe more like 127 if I've had a couple of cocktails). I know - because, Rama serves as my favorite "go-to" for Thai cuisine (sans Bangkok, of course).
Let's break down my most recent visit (Friday, July 31, 2009) by course (of course):
Drinks: White Elephant is a must have! This drink is so good it is almost like eating dessert before dinner - and, their ain't a thing wrong with that! (Tom B. is a class act in mixology!)
Appetizers: Kratong Tong (I've even eaten these tasty little cups as a light entree!).
Starter: Tom Kha - Coconut Lemon Grass Soup. Refreshing - yet sets the palate for the flavors that are awaiting the next course.
Entrees: Drunken Spicy Noodles (pork); Pad Prick King (spicy green beans); Roast Duck. Talk about a trifecta of taste!
Dessert: Mango Sticky Rice; Fried Coconut Bananas with pineapple ice cream.
Granted you'll pay almost double of any other Thai spots, this place is highly exuberant. I've been a fan since Celadon used to be on University Ave. because Alex, the owner, became a family friend since we would frequently visit Celadon and Rama for any celebration. I love Alex in a non-romantic type of way because he is a visionary. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant sells this place: Art and decor straight from Thailand, drapes that adorn the restaurants, and the whole back waterfall wall.. Very sultry, dark, and romantic - a great place to impress a date, celebrate events, or take out-of-towners to. The food is consistent and delightful. Free sticky mango and rice on your birthday leaves you leaving happy and full. And they have my most favorite Thai dish of all time, cooked to perfection: Larb Pla. But then again, every dish I've had here, and it's been quite a few through the years, have been wonderful. My out-of-town friends were impressed and I continue to be impressed.
This is a great Thai restaurant and I think it is one of the best restaurants in the trendy/touristy Gaslamp area. All of the entree's are great, and we had the Golden Shrimp appetizer...Yummy!!! good wine and beer selection.
The atmosphere is nice & hip as well ...Parking in the area is a pain in the A**
Ambience is fantastic! I really enjoyed the decor and the dining area. Perfect spot for an intimate dinner with close friends or that significant other.
Food is very good, though I do think there are better, more affordable and more authentic (being the key) Thai Restaurants downtown. That being said, combined with the extensive specialty drink list, which does little for me but excites the ladies, and the great atmosphere Rama is a winner and definitely worth a shot.
Drinks were bomb.
Food, not so much.
By the way, if you get a large of a soup, it is definitely HUGE!
Nice place to throw some money down, get your classy lady drunk and then off to your next place.
If you feel like having some upscale thai food in downtown San Deezie, this is the place to be! I have had birthday's, bachelorette parties, and more planned at this venue. Great ambience, service is delightful, and customer service is great for both Lunch and Dinner!
The only thing is sometimes parking sucks. The owners should definitely invest in valet parking. :)
I think it was probably the worst service I got in a restaurant.
As of the first minute it became obvious that our waiter wasn't a nice person. But that's fine. I hate sycophant service - really, I much prefer straightforward, outright service to those coo sounds some waiters feel obliged to make. Problem was he was downright rude and unfriendly. Our cocktails were horrible, we didn't touch them (not even the olive!) and he never inquired if there was anything wrong with them.
It took forever to get our order and then when I got mine it was exactly how I asked not to get them. I had to wait to get what I asked for while everybody else were eating. Waiter probably thought I should be thankful that they made the dish again. I don't know.
Finally, food was not more than ok, but the staff as well as the policy (I guess ignoring our undrunk drinks is policy) need to be changed.
I've been to Rama a few times with different groups of people - friends, co-workers, and for a dinner date.
Interior-
I like the dark hall way you have to walk through to get to the restaurant. The sheer curtains and waterfall at the back of the restaurant give this place a romantic vibe. The smaller tables seem to be really close to each other, but the sheers offer a bit of privacy. The booths would be the best place to sit...
Food -
The food was okay.. nothing really special. The Heavenly Rolls and Chicken Satay are good.. but when aren't they good?? There are a ton of other Thai restaurants around town that are cheaper and more authentic.
Drinks -
The specialty martinis here are delicious.. and strong!
The only reason this place is not getting a 5 is because I went with my aunt and uncle who planned a birthday party for my cousin, and the restaurant lost the menu, and did not mention it to us until we got to the restaurant. The drinks are a bit expensive, but the food makes up for it. The crab stuffed triangles were a little piece of heaven, free refills on them would have been much appreciated.
The brown rice and curry were great. My uncle felt they needed more shrimp in it. The noodles were perfectly cooked and I enjoyed the atmosphere. White linens falling from the ceiling seperate the tables which gives privacy but does not create a claustrophobic feel.
Super yummy! I ordered Pad Thai with a spiciness of 8! My friend ordered Drunken Noodles at a 4. We ended up switching because hers was too hot. Also tried some yellow curry and forgot the other dish... it was coconut milk with chicken, potatoes and carrots. Everything was great! Awesome atomosphere. I love how they have sheer drapes hanging to seperate the tables and make them more intimate. The whole back wall is a stone water fountain. Very cool looking, but made it quite humid inside.
My boyfriend and I went to Rama with several friends. We had a reservation but had to wait about 20 minutes for our table. Once seated we had a great experience. The food was delicious and was reasonably priced. I especially liked the drunken noddles. The drinks were also very good. I would go here just for drinks-they were that good.( I ordered the thai mojito. ) The ambiance is really great- dim lighting, sheer draping curtains, and wall water fountain . I definitely recommend Rama for an overall great dining experience.
A nice classy place to enjoy a drink with fun decor and enjoyable atmosphere. I didn't get any food.
I came here to share a drink with a lady friend. You enter via a long tunnel-like hallway. Odd.
We came on a Tues or Wed and Rama had few customers. We pulled up to the bar and got Martini's. There were some French tourists having a drink too.
I really liked the decor. There was a lot of brown-tan colors in the furniture and decor that went well with candlelight.
Not bad for getting drinks but I imagine this place would be overpriced like most of the Gaslamp restaurants south of Market.
Went here with two of my friends, extremely poor service! Our glasses remained empty while we ate overly spicy foods after repeatedly asking the staff for water, we didn't see our waitress for more than 30 minutes, she didn't tell us the kitchen was closing, so we couldn't order dessert, the manager had an EXTREMELY bad attitude when we commented on the service... the list goes on and on.
Then my husband dragged me here a few months later and I again experienced the worst service I've ever had in San Diego! Lotus Thai, Thai Time, Royal Thai are FAR, FAR better!
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in San Diego. I love their drunken noodles, and their black pepper chicken. The eggplant dish is also very good. Yum yum yum. However! Here's a little secret, or maybe not. This place was opened by the same owner of Celadon in Hillcrest and has the same exact menu, but at a higher price. So, I do feel cheated sometimes. Celadon is now a Noodle House, but serves some of the same dishes as Rama, at a lower price.
But, the higher price may be worth it because the decor and the atmosphere at Rama is 10x better than the little restaurant in Hillcrest. The decor really makes a big difference, and makes it a perfect date place. (It kind of reminds me of a place called SEA in New York city....) This place is definitely worth a shot.
The food at Rama is superb-it is varied and imaginative. As far as thai food goes it isn't very spicy. You can ask for a scale of hotness (1-8 I think) but even the 8 isn't melt your socks off hot. So that can be a good or bad thing.
The service is hit or miss. The last time I was there it was great. But I have been there before on a weekend where the server was a douche. Definitely a struggling actor (or more likely club promoter) just doing this until he made it big. If I am going to pay to eat somewhere I shouldn't feel like I am in a contest with the waitstaff on who can be the most aloof and cool...okay enough on that though.
I would have to agree with the reviewer who commented on their lackluster wine selection. I too asked for a wine list (this was in the past month) and was told they didn't have one.
Pregnant pause at our table.
Okay, well what reds do you have?
Pause from the server.
Oh you know, the basics, merlot, pinot noir...
My interior monologue: wow, you really know how to sell wine. If you took even five minutes at the beginning of your shift to look at the available wines you could at least cover the owner's shoddy wine selection by being able to suggest a few bottles by name.
Long story short-it surprises me that a place that sells $16 cocktails not only doesn't have a wine list, but only has 4 choices.
SO PLEASE, if you go there, ask for a wine list and mention it when you review it after. That is really the only thing lacking there. I am being very nit-picky only because other than this RAMA is great.
The setup is very cool and it is a great place for a date, or to take the parents (especially if you know your parents are going to pay:))
# TIMES VISITED: 4
I used to love treating myself to their lunch specials here - magic - always delicious balanced beautiful plates of food, perfectly cooked.
I just went to Rama for lunch, only to be told that they no longer have their lunch special menu, and I would need to order off the dinner menu. I ordered tea (4.50!) wow, a cup of Tom Yum and a beef dish.
The Tom Yum was tasty and well balanced. The beef dish was chewy and not very flavorful. Something was missing in the cooking style or quality of meat (most of the beef was hard to chew, and some I just gave up on.)
Come on Rama - bring back the terrific lunch menu and the balanced pristine quality I remember! I used to enjoy eating out the back, but they closed that section off and have the front area open, which was fine but a little chilly. Lunch came to about $30 which is a bit too pricey to do very often.
When realizing the entrance had no hostess manning the station, we walked through the long corridor inside Rama. The trek was a bit exciting as I felt the refreshing air emanate through the inviting dining room.
After confirming our reservations, we were seated at a table in front of a giant, crying stone wall with a life-size Buddha (not with the chubby tummy). I did wish we landed one of the intimate booths, but they were all taken at 9pm on a Friday evening. How about the neat mosquito nets suspended from the ceiling? The distinct decoration did provide a bit of privacy and I felt secure knowing that it kept fruit flies at bay, just in case a swarm flew in.
The menus are ginormous. Each page was about a 1/4 inch thick and almost bulletproof. How unique? The kicker was the footnote on the bottom of the appetizers' page informing the customer of the $25 minimum spending limit. Awesome disclaimer, Rama.
Asking for a wine list was a breeze, cause guess what? There wasn't one! The waitress asked us what type of wine we were interested in. We requested a cabernet. She briefly went to the bar and returned with three names. When we asked about the prices, she informed us, "All wines are $40 a bottle." We picked the most familiar sounding name, after she confirmed it was her favorite. The wine itself was smooth, yet forgettable. For a party of two, we were well underway to fulfill the $25 minimum for each customer.
For appetizers, we started off with the mixed satay with a yummy peanut sauce. Juicy pieces of beef and chicken on a skewer that were tender and flavorful. Then, came the chicken lemon grass soup. The lemon grass and ginger flavor brought me back and reaffirmed Rama's position as a legit Thai restaurant. It was delicious except for the bamboo pieces. I couldn't avoid the nuisances due to the soup's coconut cream base. It was cumbersome to chew the straw-like texture and swallow the rough wad down my esophagus.
At last, our entrees arrived as I took the last bite from my chicken satay. The pineapple fried rice comes in..guess what? A REAL pineapple that's cut vertically in half. Pretty sweet. Too bad you can't get an order prepared like that for takeout. The fried rice was prepared at 7 level of spice with generous amounts of sliced chicken and jumbo shrimp.
Next came the chop suey-like asparagus chicken that packed a punch of spice when cooked at level 8. The entree came with slices of crunchy asparagus, cuts of chicken, carrots and other veggies in a light, more mildly spiced sauce.
When the bowl of ground beef, garlic, chili and basil smothered in a red sauce arrived, it seriously looked like violent volcanic lava. I was thinking to myself, WTF did I get myself into? I should have known better when the waitress looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for a level 12 out of 10. Yet, after taking the first bite of perfectly steamed rice and a large spoonful of lava, it didn't hurt so bad....until a few seconds later. The heat kicked in and soon enough I felt like I reached past Buddha's enlightenment. After the third and fourth bite, my tongue was successfully numb. I achieved the self-inflicting pain I was looking for. The extra spicy sauces the waitress brought out on the side weren't necessary. The heat was what I had been anticipating. As for my dining partner, he was sweating and needed a coolant. The waitress was kind enough to bring him a Thai iced tea which gave his taste buds a refuge from the abuse.
The best part of Rama is how well their food holds up after you take it home. Typically, Asian rice dishes go bad after a night in the fridge. However, the steamed and fried rice was still soft and not at all dry, even after a 2 minute trip into the microwave.
Rama's unique, upscale and modern theme with relaxing and exotic beats playing, similar to Cafe Del Mar, definitely set the tone for an adventurous dining experience. The traditional and appetizing Thai dishes that were served with the finest and fresh ingredients is what made Rama stand out in my book. However, providing wine lists and ridding the pressure to persuade a customer into spending a specific amount of cash would be nice.
Walked down here the other night for a quick bite. Basically same menu as Celadon with creepy nets up in front of your booth so you can give your date oral before your entrees arrive. Just make sure you don't order your food too spicey cause that sh*t can burn!
Americanized Thai food!!.. =P
This place is great as far as appetizers go, but I say don't bother with the entrees. As good as they sound, they lack in.. authenticity. When my co-worker and I ordered "spicy" our food came out sweet. I was expecting a make-your-nose-running-scalp-itching kind of spicy, but I got this sticky sweet sauce. Yuck.
Appetizers did kind of make up for it though. The shrimp wrapped in noodle and then deep fried was good, as long as you don't dunk it in the (once again overly) sweet sauce. As I remember their house salad was also good.
Drinks were a tad weak. What is it with Gaslamp area restaurants anyway? They're really skimpy with the liquor. Is it some sort of pact among all of them or something?
With all the above said..., probably best to go for happy hour or lounging, not for dinner. The atmosphere is pretty sultry too, so you can feel glam for a little while.
One of my favorite Thai food restaurants with an American flair. The tiny little corridor leads straight to a huge room, much like a cave. I must give the designer props for the decor of dark crimson seats matched with white tables and cream drapes. Oh, and the flowing waterfall wall in the back.
The food is good and I am so picky. I don't usually like Thai food, but this one is a must. And, walking distance from my hotel in downtown San Diego.
Rama has changed a bit since I was last there.
First: There wasn't a valet dude outside, so I dropped of my companions and parked across the street in a little lot...for $25! Geez. After I paid for parking, I was informed that the valet service is next door, at Flemings. Uhhhhh, okay.
Second: Service was slow. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks, then another 20 minutes to get our appetizer. Our server was a nice girl, but it just took too darn long. The dinners came out a little more quickly, but by that time I was hungry and cranky.
Third: Although the food was still tasty, it seemed to lack that certain, I'm not sure, but it was missing something. It was good, but it seemed like the crying tiger was a cheaper cut of meat, and the drunken noodles didn't have enough pork, and.....It just feels like they're skimping on quality.
I'm sure we'll be back at some point, but not for a while. I think I'd rather explore some new places rather than come back.

From my "Sunday Night Bar Hopping" series:
I have eaten here a few times before, and remember the food as being quite good, but the only thing on my mind tonight is having a drink. Or two.
Scanning the drinks menu, I quickly home in on the Zentini, which is made with Green Tea liqueur and melon vodka. Mmm, very smooth. The drinks menu is pretty creative, but all I can remember are the words "dirty thai."
