I came to Ram's for lunch this Saturday afternoon. It was packed in the bar area, but we sat in the dining area which was just as inviting. My girl and I both ordered a buffalo chicken salad for around 11 dollars. It was delicious. Came out in a decent amount of time, presentation was great and the size was perfect.

I know the night life here is different but on a Saturday afternoon, it was mostly families. Which was something I preferred. I have heard nothing but great things about there food from my friends, and I'm glad I had a good lunch here.

I've wanted to come here for years. I won't be back.

My wife and I make several trips from Milwaukee to Illinois each year. We've seen RAM many times given its proximity to IKEA and Sweet Tomatoes. We've thought about trying RAM many times but never have... until tonight.

Busy Saturday night... every restaurant in the area has a long wait to be seated. Was able to snag an almost immediate reservation for RAM through the Yelp iPhone app even though they were quoting wait times of 45 mins+.

I had an El Jimador margarita, which was very strong. My wife ordered a raspberry margarita which tasted like a weak slushie. Weak on tequila and weak on raspberry taste.

For an appetizer, we ordered fried pickle chips. The coating was tasty but overall they were extremely greasy. I was actually using my napkin to try and absorb some grease. I realize anything fried is not health food, but the grease was pretty much dripping off the pickles.

For entrees, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a turkey patty instead of beef. YUCK! I really love a good turkey burger and this one was not. I kid you not when I say it tastes like it was made with the cheap ground turkey that comes frozen in a tube. :(  I know some people don't like turkey burgers as substitute for beef burgers, but I do, and there are restaurants, even chains, that know how to make them delicious (e.g. Ruby Tuesday). The flavor of their turkey made it nearly inedible.

I also upgraded my fries to garlic fries for 99 cents. They were good and very garlicky, with tons of chopped fresh garlic poured on top. Not quite what I was expecting them to be, but not bad either.

The wife ordered a chicken sandwich that came with onion straws/rings on top. She liked the sandwich enough to eat it, but again the onion straws were extremely greasy. She also paid the additional 99 cents to "upgrade" her fries to waffle fries. Totally not worth it. The waffle fries were just basic fries cut waffle-y. Not seasoned or anything special other than the cut. They were also hard and crunchy throughout. I guess I don't understand the extra charge for something to come in a different shape. We both agreed they were not worth the extra $ and the regular fries would have probably been better.

I'm really disappointed that RAM wasn't better than it was. The place had a good
"upscale brewpub" atmosphere but the food was worse than mediocre.

Recently came here for dinner and was looking forward to it because it's a brewery and restaurant. It was decent. We were seated right away which is always good. The restaurant looks a little fancier than what the food indicates. I had the Sarducci sandwich which comes with a ton of stuff: chicken breast, ham, pepperoni, cheese, spinach, onion, and banana pepper. It sounded delicious. It was good, but a little on the sweet side which isn't exactly what I was looking for in a sandwich. I can't tell what was making it so sweet. Unfortunately, all the sweetness made it hard to finish, but it was still good.

The beers were good. Nothing special, really. They have interesting names for their beers and it looks like you can take home a growler for relatively cheap. Overall, it's a good place for food, but I wasn't blown away. Maybe if it was a little cheaper, I'd be more willing to come back.

Pretty good.  We came here after an Ikea shopping trip earlier this winter.

My beer was not good (can't remember- it was the lightest one on tap) but my partner's was, and the prices were decent.  We both got sandwiches and thought they were pretty typical American pub fare.

Total for our meal for two was $40, including two meals and drinks and the tip.  I think we may have gotten in during a drink special though.

I completely agree with the comment below that the restaurant looks fancier than the food is.  That being said, it was a nice environment to enjoy a decent, relatively quick meal before our trip  back home.

Good place to drink.  There homemade beer is better than average.  The food is typical American pub type food, good, solid, but nothing that will keep you coming back for more (food).  You'll come back for more beer.

This is a first come first serve basis restaurant. Came here before a Bears game, and were able to get seats without a problem. We were meeting up with 4 other people, but we were the first to arrive.

    Pros:
Strawberry margarita was good, but couldn't really taste any alcohol in it.
$1 mimosa and champagne was a great deal!

    Cons:
Nachos that I ordered was meh.....did not taste that great....really hard to screw that up....at least I thought.
Waiter did not appear for 20-30 minutes until we had to ask someone who our waiter was. Once we actually started getting service it was ok.

Overall, a decent place to watch a game. They have a HUGE tv and many other Tvs around the whole room.

I used to work at the Ram YEARS ago right after I graduated college. Since then, not much has changed. My fiance and I met up with another couple (the girl used to work with me there back in the day). We thought we'd have a casual date night and reminisce about our ole stomping ground.

We were seated pretty quickly, even with a sprawling line waiting at the front. I ordered the Skinny Mango Mojito (a new addition ot the menu!) for 80 calories. Not too shabby! My friend ordred the Skinny Cosmo Cooler. The boys ordered Blondes. No, not other women, but the beer on tap that they brew in house.

We opted to split an appetizer and ordered the BBQ chicken quesadilla. It was as good as I remembered it. Colby Jack cheese with juicy marinated chicken and bbq sauce drizzled on top. Yum! The orders varied between the four of us, and I apologize but don't remember all that we had except my own. I used to love the burgers when I did work there, and so I thought I'd order one for good measure. The Bourbon Black Jack was one of my faves. However, I don't remember it being that spicy. I also don't remember when Medium ended up being pink all the way through? I ended up eating only part of my burger because it was so undercooked, and was too impatient to send it back. They have added sweet potato fries to the choices of sides, and boy, they were crispy, sweet, and I polished them off!

I opted to not get dessert, but the other couple did. The mini ice cream cupcake looked pretty darn good. Overall, Ram continues to brew and serve on par drinks, and average food. I have had better burgers elsewhere though. This shall be an appetizer and drinks spot going forward.

Thank goodness it's Ram[sday]. Ram is everything that you liked about Friday's from back in the day but without all of the buttons. It's one of the places to go where you can watch the game and enjoy bar food that's kicked up a notch.

We ordered loaded waffle fries and buffalo wings as an appetizer and two cups of beer cheese soup. The beer cheese soup is definitely a must have. Imagine beer, cheese, and bacon in soup form. For the main dishes, we all got burgers; The Hillbilly, The Faburge`, and The Bourbon Black Jack. I liked the different combinations but the meat itself lacked flavor and was overcooked. Overall, a decent burger but for the price, I have had better at other places. For a $10 burger, you are competing with a lot of great burger places in Chicago.

I appreciate that places like Ram are still around. The service was great and we also found a coupon for 20% off our meal. Sometimes you just feel like all-American food in a casual environment and don't want to be judged since you are wearing sweat pants.

With a lack of decent - and decently priced - hangout spots in Schaumburg, the Ram (is it called that?) has stepped in to pick up some of the slack.  Everything here was a bit above reasonable, from the food to the beer to the prices.  Don't let it fool you - it's definitely a chain, but Schaumburg seems to attract the better chains, so it's not necessarily a bad thing.  One of the upsides of that is that the calories are posted on their website, if you're into that kind of thing, although one look at them and you'll realize this is not a place for a diet (why are you going to a pub if you're on a diet?).

My verdict is that it's good enough, but you might as well drive the 10 extra minutes and go to The Lucky Monk, with better beer and better burgers.

We love this place! My girlfriends and I use the Ram as a central meeting spot for drinks/dinner. They have great beers (the Blonde is my fav!), an extensive wine list, and great food.

The bar area is first come first serve, so either get there early- or be prepared to stand around while you wait for a table to open up. Lots of TV's for those sports fans .. Great patio for the warmer months.

Food: Awesome burgers, fresh salads, love the chips/queso appetizer. Honestly, we try different things every time we visit Ram- and I'm always impressed. The presentation is nothing fancy- but it's just good food.

They have a little window of gifts that you for purchase as well - I recommend purchasing one of their growlers and taking home some of their great beer.

Great place for girlfriends, guys night, or even a date. i would say that Ram is nice-casual (it really depends on the occasion)

I recently had my 25th birthday shindig here- Gathered a few friends and we took up one of their huge horse shoe booths and then some. The staff was accommodating and let us put a table and  few chairs at the end of the booth to fit more people.  So, that situation worked out pretty well.

Here are a few additional comments:

    1) Their skinny drinks tasted skinny! I had their lemon drop skinny cocktail and it was barely tasted like anything. No flava flave!

    2) On the not so healthy side of the spectrum, I had their potato skins and Buttface Amber Ale! YUM! Every potato skin was loaded with toppings and the huge beer tasted great with or without  the appetizer.

    3) I got a FREE cookie and cream pie slice for my birthday. It was so good! Just call me Soda Pop! I loved eating dessert and drinking beer! (HIGH FIVE if you got that reference!)

    4) Our sever could have check on our table more,  to get our additional drink and food orders. But overall, it was fine. We ate, drank, and were merry.  = )

I ordered a regular burger here along with the sweet potato fries. There wasn't much differentiation between their food and a typical burger joint... until you got to the dessert. My table got 3 desserts for the price of $6.99 (or maybe it was $7.99) but they were little cup cake shaped ice cream scoops that were fantastic! We got oreo, strawberry, and peanut butter, all of which was so refreshing and a great compliment to the burger. All the food was well cooked to order.

The one downside is they were fairly busy at the time and when the waitress did stop by the table, she was very attentive, but it seemed hard to find her at times to refill drinks or ask her for napkins. I do understand that we came during the busy hours of the evening, but everyone else raved about the service on the reviews and I didn't think it met that expectation.

Would I come here again? Probably one more time to check it out and see what it's like. It's not a horrible place, but it's not leagues above other places so it wouldn't be the first place I'd go.

Burger Monday it is.  Well they don't have a Monday burger special like many places do but I was aiming for one and it had been a few years since eating here so thought I give it a re-visit.

Burgers galore here and they're all priced in the 10$ range.  I ordered the Bacon and Cheddar with BBQ and it was tasty but nothing spectacular.  I'm now convinced that in order to satisfy my burger cravings that said burger need be at the very least hand formed and at best should be ground fresh daily.  See J. Alex for a textbook example of this. This was a pre-made patty evidenced by its perfect cylindrical shape...boo!

Fries were average at best but the service was on point....the 80's mix tape playing in the background was only moderately annoying.

Probably won't be back unless chosen by another person.

Ram is a place that I wanted to like, because it is fairly close to where I live and work. Unfortunately, it suffers from that crushing corporate control that does not mix well with microbrews.

The beer selection seems good at first. They have a half dozen on tap at any time, with some standards and a few rotating styles.
The problem starts with the temperature. Every beer is served ICE COLD! I found it difficult to even taste the beer. If you find yourself here, be sure to ask for a warm glass, so that the beer will be at a drinkable/taste-able temperature in less than 15 minutes after it is served.
I found most of the beers at Ram to be too bland for my tastes. A notable exception was the Total Disorder Porter, which was good. I was most disappointed with the Big Red IPA and the 71 Pale, which simply did not stand out as good examples of these styles which I normally like. Where were the hops? I was recently at Ram when they had a seasonal hazlenut beer. It was a nice departure from their other bland offerings.

The food at Ram is mediocre. I really went for the beer, but a man has to eat. I haven't had a wide selection from their menu, but in general I found it to be expensive for the quality. It is basically fancy pub grub that is trying to be hip for the Schaumburg crowd.

The layout of this location is your typical giant corporate restaurant. I have sat at the bar as well as in the general restaurant booths. The bar had way too many TVs and lights for my taste. I also wish they could clean up the smell of stale beer a little better. I know that this is a common problem with bars, but it doesn't make me like it anymore.
The restaurant seating was very loud. Probably even more so because I was there... After a few beers, I become part of the problem I suppose. I did not like the number of children that were present. These types of brewpubs cater to the suburban families that think nothing of bringing children to bars. This is common, so not really a Ram problem specifically.

Overall, I would probably go back to Ram if I was in the area, but I wouldn't seek it out. It is not terrible, once you are aware of its deficiencies, but I keep wishing it was better.

Update (2009-07-25): I returned to Ram this afternoon. I sat at the bar for a few beers and some dessert. The Disorder Porter and the Barefoot Wit were good. I made sure to ask for a "room temperature" glass and this helped a lot.

The Ram is good for what it is... higher quality chain food. I used to go all the time when I lived in Seattle and loved it. They had a fabulous $20 appetizer, salad, and steak deal. I was disappointed to see the IL location didn't have that.

They have good beer and I highly recommend the skillet bread pudding. It's great for groups of people too. Go on your way to The Improv for a fun night out!

The RAM has earned themselves another star!!

Their service has DEFINITELY improved since my last visit!!  I was here twice this past weekend (hey, when it rains it pours!!) and both times, we had exceptional service/food/adult beverages.

    Visit #1:
We were a group of fourteen rowdy (albeit slightly obnoxious) girls who came here for some alcohol-soaking up meals before we hit the club for our friend's big night!  Thre eof us showed up on time, and the others showed up fashionably late.  However, by showing up when we did, we had that much more time to get to know our AMAZING waiter, Dan!!  He was really on top of his game, and provided us with fantastic service and food!!  He definitely had the best attitude for our group--he was friends, outgoing, and knew how to deal well with the intoxicated females I was with!  We even got a group picture with him at the end!

A++ for my lemon drop and my Cosmo Cooler--perfect summertime drinks!  My veggie burger was also delicious, as were the waffle fries!

But Dan really made the night awesome!

    Visit #2:
I came with my husband, our kids, and our friend for a Sunday evening dinner.  We decided on the RAM for two reasons--they have awesome food, and more importantly, the night before, I had noticed a sign that until July 31st, they have $5.99 growler refills.  $5.99 for amazing beer for home?!?!?!  YES PLEASE!!!

Our waitress this night was Courtney--from the ver get go, she was so friendly and welcoming, and really seemed to enjoy being there.  She even taught me a fun fact--RAM stands for Restaurant and Microbrewery.  I have been going there for years and had no idea!

So we got a ton of food--we started with the Buttface Cheese Dip (of course), and it was amazing as usual.  Get to the pita chips first if you really want to live!  However, my friend and I decided to branch out a bit, and we ordered the King Crab and Shrimp dip that comes with garlic crostini.  Oh. My. Gracious.  This was delicious.  Seriously.  Maybe even better than the cheese dip (but don't tell my husband I said that!!)  The bread was so flavorful, there were actual huge crab chunks, and large pieces of shrimp, and it was like a seafood party in my mouth!

In addition to those delicious starters, we also got the Stadium burger, the all american burger, and the seafood special of shrimp lettuce wraps.  All of them were awesome, but I do feel like there was a serious lack of volume in the shrimp wraps.  TONS of crispy noodles for the wraps, but not enough of the good stuff.

Courtney checked in on us throughout the whole meal and made wonderful suggestions and was very knowledgable about the beers and the menu items.  I loved having her as our waitress!!

And for the record, my husband got six (yes SIX) growlers refilled (I didn't even know he had that many) for $31.  I was WAY impressed.

**8-11-11** I have changed my four star review to a FIVE STAR.  Last night a couple girls and I went to have some dinner and drinks.  Not only did both Dan and Courtney remember us, but they thanked me for the review and the manager, Greg, came by and treated us like VIP.  Lisa was our waitress this time, and she was great as well.  I no longer think I can have a bad experience here!  My last few have been BEYOND stellar!!**

Not long ago, I wrote a generally unfavorable review of Ram, claiming that the restaurant had seen better days, that it seemed all too willing to compare its self to TGI Friday's, and that the restaurant seemed out of touch with microbreweries and the times in general.

As it turns out, I was the one who was out of date.
I just ate there tonight, and I am not too proud to admit that I was totally wrong. Ram has made serious improvements since I was there last.

Here's what happened that made me go back: within a few days of posting my last review, I was stunned to see that Mike, the regional manager of Ram, had contacted me on Yelp. He said that he had read my review, appreciated my criticisms, and invited me back to the Schaumburg location to show me that things had changed.

I told him that I'd be happy to give Ram another shot, and while I expected that I would get fine treatment and food, I also told him that I thought that Ram seemed to have an identity crisis and that it just wasn't as cool as it had been ten years ago.

As it turns out, the restaurant is better now than I've ever remembered it. The menu is newer, more condensed, and more suited to a modern microbrewery with lots of gourmet bar food. The restaurant was incredibly clean, and the tables looked brand new with hardly a scratch on them. It was refreshing.

The meal experience was great. Our server Allison was upbeat, friendly, and had great suggestions. She also seemed genuinely proud of the menu, which, I think, is very encouraging to guests. The food my girlfriend and I ordered was also wonderful. I had a Faberge Burger which included breakfast toppings like bacon, ham, and eggs. It was so good I downed it in less than five minutes despite its generous size. My girlfriend had pulled a pulled pork sandwich, which we both agreed was the best one we'd had in the Schaumburg area. Additionally, we tried a seasonal beer and were both impressed by its deliciousness.

We also got to talk with Jeff, the general manager, who came by to check on us- he was warm, receptive, and a pleasure to talk to.

So.... what else could you want from a meal experience? I'm convinced. Ram is back on track, and just as good as any other microbrewery in the area- except for one thing: they took the time to address me individually when I least expected it. That puts them above the rest in my opinion. This is a restaurant that deserves your business. I know I'll be back, and I hope you will too.

And to the regional manager, Mike: It's still a beacon of awesomeness. Thanks for proving me wrong. :)

We had about 6 people with us and found a table in the bar easily. Dan was bar tending, he remembered us of course and made sure we had our drinks all the time. But the big shout out goes to e manager mike, he came to talk to us before our food came out and offered to take us on a brewery tour after diner!!!! The tour was AWESOME, and was very interesting to learn about the way beer is made!!! Thank you ram for yet another great experience, the staff keeps me coming back......o yeah and the food:)

I recommend the mint chocolate chip ice cream cupcakes, but these are usually the firstnto go so we Lisa our waitress to put two aside for us and she did!!! Lisa you rock!!!

I've been to RAM a few times, and let me tell you it's never been "my place of choice" but it has the following:

    (Pierre's Likes of RAM)
    - Great Location
    - Mediocre Beers (The 71 Pale Ale is pretty descent and that combined with Sunday is $5 24 Oz pours it's a pretty solid place to catch a Bears game)
    - High ceilings!

    (Pierre's Dislikes of RAM)
    - A chain like restaurant feeling
    - Crowded!
    - A little overpriced on the entrees (I've had the Fish and Chips and Burger there and it's always been about $15 bucks, don't get me wrong I've paid much more and much less for said items, however the quality was much better)

Overall, I think this is a descent "corporate micro-brewery" if there is ever such a thing...I'll be back probably but it won't be by choice it will be because I don't want to upset the apple cart...

This place is still really good. 10 years after my first visit and I keep going back.  I had a delicious chicken sandwich (Father Sarducci) the other day, including ham, salami and mozzarella cheese. It was so good, I felt dizzy while eating it!! That was probably my arteries getting blocked. =D

To drink I got a refreshing Bacardi Rock Coconut Skinny, a mix of lemonade and Bacardi Rock Coconut. Only 100 Calories!! I also tried the Buttface Amber Ale, what a pleasant tasting beer! I must go back and get a growler of it! That will suffice for about an hour. lol I kid I kid.

Their appetizers are always on point as well, specially their calamari. A must try!

Always enjoy the Ram,  tonight our meal arrived cold, the waiter & manager both took care of it, continued to check with us, then gave us a desert for our trouble.  What you would expect from a well managed place.

In general, this place has a good atmosphere to get together.  It has decent music, interesting and seems like a bit of an up-scale bar and is good for weekend scene.  Food-wise though, it has yet to impress me but then again, how much can we really expect from bar foods?

I had the Socked Eyed Salmon value meal for $13 which came with a very tiny strip of salmon, seasoned rice pilaf, steamed veggies and a little bowl of salad with some bread crumbs.  The salmon was dry and overcooked.  It didn't have any mustard or sweet sauce.  The rice pilaf was undercooked so it tasted hard and not seasoned well at all.  The steamed veggies were decent but seem like they were defrosted from a freezer.  The salad was mediocre, and it came tiny bowl that sit on my plate so make it seem part of the entrée being served.  Overall, I've had a much better salmon experience for almost the exact same dish at Baker's Square.  They could improve on their quality food a little more but the scenery and atmosphere was fitting so I'm handing out 3 stars.

We went on a Saturday so it was busy and we had a group of 12 and they were able to do split tender.  However, the waitress did mixed up the order on the receipts so we had to ask her to re-do it and she also took a really long time to come and collect our money.  At least, they did let us stay for about 3 hours without problem until it was show time to catch Fast Five over at the theater nearby.  So not a bad place to hang out and a place to catch a bite before heading out elsewhere.

what is this place? a micro brew? no.
    a chain? yes
a chain posing as a microbrew? exactly.
if you're from the area you'll think this place is the bees knees.
if you are from a place that wasn't built as an intnetional community to fill the space around a mall...you will want to cry a little just getting into the parking lot. you will then bargain with the devil and trade your soul for a last minute emergency excuse to flake on the after- work happy hour and just go home.

I stopped by out of convenience, as the place was right next door to my hotel. The place is rather large, featuring a good number of TVs behind an oversized bar. Very much a sports bar atmosphere.

On the whole, though, there really wasn't much that stood out about the place. The IPA I had was very good. The service was solid. And the food was very greasy bar food (I went with the reuben and could only handle about half of it.)

I don't know that this is a place I'd go seeking out. But if you're staying next door and you want a beer better than a Sam Adams, stop on by.

My friend and I took a trip to visit some friends out of town and had the clever idea of gifting them with local beers and some we picked up along the way. We called it "Beer from there to here". And that is how I became acquainted with Buttface. It has a higher alcohol content than most beers, but you might never guess it until after your second glass.

It's been a while and I've had the chance to try a few other beers there. Buttface is good, but not my favorite. I cannot for the life of me remember the names of the other beers, which is a shame. But I know that I like most of the ones I've tried and was a big fan of their wheat beer.

My friend and I meet up here every couple weeks or so. It's a nice halfway point for the both of us. The service is good, the food is alright, the beer is always good and we've never had to wait for a table or spot at the bar. Some food is better than others. The appetizers are typical bar food. The burger I had was OK. Their desserts are to die for.

I think this is my first 1 star review.  I almost gave it 2 stars but I truly would not go back here so I think my rating is warranted.

I met 2 friends here at 7pm Saturday night.  There was a long wait but that was our fault for not making reservations.  We ended up finding a table in the bar area.

Our waitress was nice but not very attentive.  It took at least 20 minutes to even get a menu.  My friend ordered water with her drink and the water took at least 20 minutes to get to us too.  Yes, it was busy but after reading other reviews, this seems to be common occurrance.

I got the wrong drink - it was still good, kinda weak.  I didn't bother sending it back since our waitress wasn't around to take it back.

Most of all, I was disappointed in the food.  I ordered the pulled pork sandwich.  It was absolutely huge but just did not taste good at all.  Very sad since I love a good pulled pork.  I had fries as a side and was disappointed in the amount I received.

I did have the other half of my sandwich wrapped to bring home to see if my husband liked it but I ended up forgetting it there....and I didn't really care.

You see it's sorta like this...

You've known each other for a while, had a few good times, shared many a good drink and an occasional memorable date strewn with even more forgettable meals. And therein lies the truth....

The RAM has always been a safe bet in the burbs. They brew fine beers, service is generally good and the food is pretty solid (think Bourbon Blackjack Burger) but never outstanding. I come here for their Total Disorder Porter, it is a well executed brew. I come here to meet friends because I know that there will be room for a party of 6 or more most nights we come. I come here for the porter...wait I mentioned that already.

A little risk-taking with the menu and the ambience of the place could carry us into a 5-star commitment. Until then the RAM and I will still...be...just friends.

First off, they take reservations. So I definitely recommend calling ahead if you have a group of 10 or more. We came for my 21st birthday so we all ordered some drinks and I definitely recommend the Dragonberry Mojito. DELICIOUS! They also have Woodchuck hard cider which is a plus in my book because it's a little hard to find.

Everyone's food is in good proportion, and all really enjoyed their food. Many people in my group ordered the steak and I ordered a RAM FAVORITE: Peanut Butter burger.

A few things on this. Sounds weird, but surprisingly it was good! HOWEVER, good for the first couple of bites. Then it got to be TOO MUCH peanut butter. The burger itself was good; juicy and cooked the way I wanted but the peanut butter as the replacement for light mayo was overbearing. So if you're adventurous, try it but tell your waiter, "LIGHT ON THE PB"

They also gave me a sky-high delicious chocolate vanilla icecream cake.

RAM gets another star from us for their terrific response to us in regard to our earlier post.  We believe it is very smart for any business to be reading the Yelp reviews.   As we have said in other reviews we believe that most guests do not express their disappointments while at the restaurant.   But Yelp allows people like us to honestly express both our positive and negative dining experiences.  What a great resource for all restaurant and business owners.  We are glad to see that RAM is one of those businesses that are on the ball.

I went for my husband's birthday because Schaumburg is a central meeting point, and we thought we would pick something reasonably priced for all involved.  The prices were about right for the food - it was all pretty good, nothing spectacular though. Typical bar-type food. I had a philly sandwich, and my husband had a steak/potato/salad combo he thought was fine - the steak was cooked to his liking and the portions were nice. I like that they give the option of sweet potato fries ($0.75 extra).

The beer is nothing spectacular - I had the Amber and found it to be adequate, and my husband had the Porter and thought it was fine.

The service was so-so - she was very friendly but never came around for a water refill or to check how the meal was. She did bring a gigantic dessert for birthday singing, so that was nice. The manager came around to inquire about our meal, which is always a nice touch, and endured my father's teasing sportingly (a trademark of his whenever we eat out - the waitstaff should be made to feel awkward at least once).

Overall, if we're looking for somewhere reasonable to go in Schaumburg we will likely go back, but it probably won't be a destination type place for us.

Good service, very loud atmosphere.. not really a great place to take a date or the family for dinner. Their food is above average but their beer is nothing more than average. I do think this place is over-hyped and over-priced too.

Traditional bar and pub food.  Its prices are moderate.
Their flatbread pizza is pretty good and worth checking out.

Their beer is okay, but not the best.

Although I have no major issues with Ram, I just don't think they deserve higher than 3 out of 5 stars.

Being in town for a beer convention I was looking forward to trying some beer brewed on premise...unfortunately I found most of the beers bland. Their IPA was more like a pale ale with no big hoppiness.
Foodwise they hit a little better...filling and generous portions, after eating there twice, I found it good, but nothing to go out of the way for...if you are staying at the Hyatt next door, you could do worse. Overall...ok.

decent beer, the red was the best. The deep fried pickles could have been better and I expect a little more than instant potatoes. The burger was excellent, as was the meatloaf. Friendly and inexpensive.
