Ram is a great standby when you're looking to get rowdy with some friends or play a little Monday night trivia.

Their burgers are tasty and a good portion. They offer lots of toppings that put twists on burgers for every flavor profile. I really like the bourbon black jack burger personally with fries.

I love the chicken tenderloins, especially when I found out you could order them grilled instead of fried. They are great alternative to the other heavy meals on the menu.

Definitely a great spot to meet up with friends to watch a game or unwind a bit after shopping and dodging strollers at UVillage.

A beer-less lunch after a much too long and frustrating visit to the overloaded Apple store next door did not put me in the most receptive mode for an open minded dining experience.

Nor did our selection highlight what the Ram does right.  Had the Cobb Salad, Turkey w/ Havarti and kids cheese pizza.  All were blah.  Cobb Salad was made out of  that lettuce that comes on Taco Bell tacos.  The sandwich was dry and was a notch below what you get at Safeway.  The pizza was an insult to the word pizza.

Would have given this visit 2 star.  But I know from extensive experience
The Ram does excellent burgers, appetizers and beer.  Plus the service was great as usual.

Do NOT order the Strawberry Lemonade

This trip to Seattle was a food service industry nightmare and it began by laying my head on the Ram Restaurant & Big Horn Brewery pillow. A busy Fall Sunday afternoon means its nonstop NFL. So its no wonder the Ram stands to be a little busy. Pressed for time (about an hour and a half) we opted to sit in the bar room, found an empty table and grabbed a seat. Empty is relative. Though no one was seated at the table it was littered with empty bottles, glasses and dirty plates.

Granted it could have been minutes before the prior patrons vacated the table but that's no excuse for it not to have been bussed. As we sat and waited, we waited some more and finally someone walks up and asks, "You guys weren't sitting here before, right?" This golden question appeared to determine whether or not she was going to rid us of the spent dishes that cluttered the table. To our luck, No was the magic word in order for her to do what I assume, is her responsibility as a server.

Ten minutes later we were able to order drinks to which my Strawberry Lemonade tasted like it was poured in one of the empty beer glasses that were just removed from the table! By far the worst flavored lemonade I had ever tasted. After our drinks were served it would be at least 35 minutes before anyone would return to the table, so my companion and I figured it would be best to leave and grab a pretzel from the concession stand at UW game.

    Good riddens and never again!

I honestly wish I could like this place. It's in a convenient location, the menu sounds great and the smells that resonate when I walk by are tempting. However, the food I've received is pretty run of the mill and I've gotten sick nearly every time I've eaten here. What's fishy is the layout of the food preparation area, which is adjacent to the central walkway of the restaurant. It wouldn't surprise me if some airborne sneezing or coughing happens to find its way to the sour cream or lettuce.

Decent beer. Decent food. Decent service. Its all okay. It seems like a large chain restaurant. You know exactly what you're going get each time. Its a good atmosphere too. But there's nothing astounding or amazing about this place. Its a great backup plan or an easy place to agree on. 3 stars is well deserved.

I had a burger and a beer for lunch here, and i tried my friend's burger and beer too. Both of our burgers, bourbon blackjack and bacon burgers, were tasty, if not quite gourmet, and the beer was really quite nice, an amber and a blond. Served cold and fast, the beer was schlepped out by a smart, smiling waitress who chatted with us enough to make us comfortable, but not enough to get in our way.

An A-Ok place, all around, and one of the better lunch spots in U-Village.

Last night, a bunch of us Storm Crazies (Seattle Storms most loyal & craziest of crazy fans) met at the Ram for drinks & munchies before heading over to UW to watch the women's basketball team play.  We all got together in the bar area and took up two tables.... enjoying the camaraderie, food and drinks!  We had a great waitress, who had refills on our drinks before we even asked, sometimes very stealthy.  She was fast.  It was happy hour, and that made us all even that much happier..... cheaper prices!!  My wife and I each got their roast beef sandwich (which was lacking something) but at least it was fuel.  The atmosphere was fun, and the service was stellar.  Great spot for a gather, before or after a college game.

A visit to the Ram is never out of order after battling U-Village crowds, even though I'm not a huge fan of their beer.  Even with a gameday crowd they manage to run a pretty tight operation, minimizing waits for a table and getting your food and drink out in very admirable times.

I typically go for a burger or other type of sandwich when I'm in to dine, but any of their sides will make for fine snacking if you're primarily in to quench your thirst.  I honestly can't recall ever having food at the Ram that wasn't at least acceptable, if not tasty.

A big plus for us these days is that they're very accommodating about kids.  They're quick with a high chair and diversionary crayons, and helpful with food options that are suitable for kids of all ages.

Whether you're in for a game, taking a break from being a good consumer, or just need a conspicuous place to play with your new iThing from the Apple Store next door, the Ram is there for you.

Because it is so close to my new home (I just moved to Seattle) the Ram has become a sort of home away from home.  This bar is a place I would call comfortable and offers all the things you might want from a good bar.  The seating is plentiful, and in the bar area there are a plethora of TVs, making it a great place to watch a football game.  They make their own beer, and it is all delicious - I am looking forward to trying the Oktoberfest once it is finally ready.

Although I tend to think that the prices are a bit high, eespecially for the lunch specials (which as I recall are in the $10 range, where they would make more sense in a $7 range).  However, they do offer some good happy hour specials, including a cup of beer cheese soup.

I have always had good service and thus an ultimately good experience. I should clarify that the service is not always the fastest, or perhaps the most professional - but always friendly and befitting of a laid back bar/restaurant.

Another bonus to this restaurant is its location in the U Village.  When the weather is nice you can sit on the patio, and it makes for some really great people watching.

    Won't be back.

    "Prime" bacon cheddar burger: overcooked
    Waffle fries: dry cold
Whisky Chicken: small dry tough meat
Fish & chips: tough fish meat
    Wedge salad: meh
    Ice cream cupcake: great!

Told the staff the chicken was tough.  Manager came by and said "I wish you would have saved a little bit of that chicken so I could see if there was something wrong with it".  It was a tiny piece to begin with and his attitude sucked big time.

Waitress was way more professional than the manager.

    Awful experience.

Stopped by the Ram for happy our the other day. The pints were pretty decently priced and the food was decent. I had wafer fries. It did however take forever for them to come and take my order. It wasn't a major issue, maybe they waited because the person with whom I was with was away in the lavratory.

I liked their beer, it was pretty good. I had the DIsorder Porter, which was a good drinkable beer. It wasn't like some super exotic beer that some snob who only drinks  Russian River would dig, but it was a very good solid beer. I tried some of the Hefe which I also thought was a very solid beer.

I would go back during Happy Hour again. That's usually the biggest thing I think about when rating a restaurant. Would I go back, avoid, or try other things in the area then go back. I would go back to  this place if I was in uvillage and wanted beer.

I can't remember if this is my first or second time coming here. But last night, I went and I had the chicken almond salad which had a ginger sesame vinaigrette. my cousin had the thai chicken salad.

I thought the food came out pretty fast and it was delicious. I liked how it tasted sweet, but it reminded me of any asian sesame dressing.

The bread stick though, was disgusting. hard as a stone, but tasted bland. definitely did not enjoy that.

but let me say that the waitress was super nice, and it was pretty good service. the hostess as well. she kept smiling and was very helpful.

i'd probably come back to try other menu items. their menu for drinks sound amazing! and they have the bar/lounge in the back which is until 2:00 am. I'm definitely coming back! :)

This was one of my ex-boyfriend's favorite go-to places for lunch, dinner, whatever.  It wasn't mine.  But he always paid the bill when we ate here, so I was a happy clam.

Otherwise, I'd only come here for their Happy Hour (3-7pm), and if I had no other place to eat in the U-Village.  Their Thai Chicken wrap and Margarita pizza are decent, and that's 'bout it.

Wish they had Saturday HH but since not we ordered from te regular menu and shared the calamari, shrimp and crab artichoke dip and the turkey burger. I tried sips of my girlfriends' pomegranate and regular mojitos, both of which were pretty good. I stuck with iced tea since it was late and the night wasn't close to being over yet.

Our server was great. Checked in as needed but not too often. Refilled my iced tea as soon as I had about a 1/4 cup left = awesome. The dip was so good by left me wanting for a little less cheese and cream and more shrimp or crab. The turkey burger was seasoned well and was on a wheat bun served with average tasting fries. The calamari was most excellent and was a huge serving that we didn't finish.

Though we would've much preferred the HH menu the regular menu didn't break the bank and kept us full for the rest of the night/early morning :)

This review is strictly for trivia on Monday nights, which is some of the best cheap bar fun you can have on a Monday. The happy hour deal starts at 9 PM ($3 for 32 oz beers - awesome) and the trivia starts at 10, but you should probably arrive closer to 8, especially if you have a group with you. You can play from the bar in the back or the restaurant area up front. Usually the entire bar and restaurant is there for trivia and it creates quite the atmosphere. Buy-in is a dollar a person, with the winning team taking the entire pot, which can get up to $400 on busy nights.

If you are serious about trying to win trivia (I've heard rumors it's rigged) you will at least need:

    A) A history buff
    B) Someone who went to high school in the nineties
    C) Someone who loves OLD TV shows
    D) A Perez Hilton regular
    E) A daily Sportscenter viewer

    Good luck

Why do they persist in opening these restaurants?  They're not very good.  For some reason or another I've been to several of them in Boise, Salem & Portland, and now in Seattle.   So it hasn't been an off-night or anything. The menu is lame and unimaginative. Service is always slow. I usually end up sending something back.  Ultimately I guess the question is, why do I persist in coming back?  Good question.  I won't if I can help it.

This is a pretty amazing UW bar in the U-district. This bar holds only the most loyal and rowdiest fans here on gameday (if they cant get into the stadium or rather get some good food and beer). The bar is constantly rocking with the cheers for the beloved Dawgs. The Stadium burger is a tribute to the decrepit stadium known as Husky Stadium and totally worth it.

The most important thing that fuels the crazy UW fans are the beer. With the good home brewed goodness the Ram supplies, there is never an empty glass. Dont come on Apple cup weekend if your a WSU fan or you will feel the jeers of the room.

    btw... BOW DOWN TO WASHINGTON!

The RAM is fine.  Ok American food at a brewery; a little nicer than most near universities.

This place used to be hoppin' on Sunday nights but alas, they no longer do half-off everything Sundays.

Monday night trivia is too crowded.  Go to Northgate on Tuesdays. (Why did I just tell you that?  What if you're better at trivia than me?! Gah!)

I like the RAM salad. Desserts are huge but good if you don't mind taking in a TON of extra calories.  Like a meal or a day's worth probably.

My biggest problem was when I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich.  Don't remember how much it was but it seemed comparable to AHI tuna. It came and was...a tuna salad sandwich.  As in canned tuna.  I asked the waitress if this was the ahi tuna sandwich.  She said yes.

Me: "Um you know...ahi tuna is a very specific type of tuna and is cooked partially raw.  It doesn't come canned and it would be red on the inside."
Waitress: "Um ok...I'll go take it back."

(I didn't mean to be a jerk I promise. She probably didn't know what ahi tuna was but I was irritated they were teaching their waitstaff this was it.)

    False advertising.

I'd consider the Ram a step above a crappy place like Red Robin, but what you get is better beer and slightly better food, but it still has that corporate chain feel. Stick with the chicken / meat whiskey burgers, they can be super good, and go during a packed evening during a UW football or basketball game, it will make it for a more fun evening, otherwise I'd travel out of the U village area to grab something else.

I wasn't a big fan of this particular RAM until I found out recently about the bar area in the back. I have been here probably 6 other times but never realized it was even there I guess I am oblivious to things.

The main area has a bit too many kids at times and can be very crowded pretty much all the time on the weekends. When I went last there was no big games going on so the bar was a nice respite despite the restaurant section being still crazy busy. Got a burger and a beer quick.

The Ram is you all around good 'ol American food restaurant. Their menu has good burgers and sandwiches and the related items. It really separates it's self from other places with it's amazing Happy Hours and tasty micro brews. The bar has multiple flat screens showing all of the good games!

My favorite beer is the Amber ale. It is smooth and yet strong in flavor. It pairs well with any if their burgers and is perfect as your after work drink.

The Ram doesn't get a 5 star rating due to it's proximity to the University. It can become very frat partyesque on the weekends.

It's hard to know exactly what Ram Restaurant is aiming for here. It's sort of a sit down type of restaurant, but has a large room in the back with some big TVs reminiscent of a sports bar. With the basic casual dining menu, it's really closer to a Chili's. Thus the three stars.

The staff was pretty quick in recognizing us and got a decent seat in the large room. For viewing, the sightlines to the TVs are acceptable and it probably makes a decent place to take in a game. What it's less good for is conversation; with all the tables in one room, there's a fair amount of echoing and you have to raise your voice a little here.

I went with the loaded waffle fries which are likely as unhealthy as you'd think, but fairly tasty. They have their own brews and I tried the Total Disorder Porter. It's pretty decent as porters go, but also at the pricier end ($5.23 for a mug). Speaking of pricy, adding on a glass of wine and a Cobb salad takes a meal for two past $40. Adding on the fact that you have to park at the U Village, there are better values to be found out there.

HALF TAB!  50% off everything on the bar menu and all drinks makes this place my stop for late night on Sundays!

The signature Ram beers are pretty good and they have a decent selection (including seasonal beers).  The food on the other hand is pretty mediocre and basic.

Overall, I'd come here for half tab and that's about it, can't go wrong with cheap foods and drinks!

I don't know why my friends keep wanting to come back here for Trivia night....

Foods okay, its loud, its busy, and usually I end up with a neck ache after a night of trying to strain my neck to see the TV screens that they put the questions up on. Beer is cheap, but well drinks are most certainly not. I ended up spending $15 on a WELL double vodka tonic, whereas my friends got 16 oz. of beer for $3. What is up with that?

So the service is good, and the trivia questions are also pretty good, but its just not my choice to go whenever I end up there. Not my favorite trivia in the area, or place in general.

And lastly, be prepared to be surrounded by both frat boys and sorority girls along with UW alumni when you go here. It's most certainly a college bar.

I've come here many times and the thing that is the most consistent is that their service is horrid.  Expect long waits for servers to take your order, for food to come and to get your check. Thirsty? Forget it, order a beer and it comes 10-20 minutes later often a 1/5 empty cause your server spills. The food is mediocre and their attention to detail is terrible, say you order a burger with no lettuce, expect it to come with lettuce.

The only thing that saves this place is the bar in the back, it's decent and some of their beer is quite tasty. Don't come here for food, you'll regret it.

I think Ram has great onion rings! Lots of places have so-so rings but Ram"s are big with a fair amount of onion flavor. I also think the burgers are pretty good. The had a bacon special with crumbled bacon  in the burger and chicken fried bacon on top that was very good. But, it was  time limited offering.
Their bread pudding is awesome and HUGE.  Three of us couldn't finish it after having eaten dinner. I was so full I didn't want think about bringing home the leftovers. Too bad. I regretted that the next day.

The Ram is a busy bar where you can hang out as a family or watch the game.  There is an adult only bar area in the back that is separate from the restaurant.  So the layout is good.  They also have outdoor seating available for sunny days.

As for the food --- it's ok.  Nothing special.  They changed the menu a few years ago, and we lost some of our favorites.

Here's where is gets bad - the service is TERRIBLE.  It is so ridiculously slow.  We've visited the Ram on and off for the last 10 years, and on occasion we get a good server, but in general, we wait forever  for drinks, our food, the check at the end....  It doesn't really make sense to us because even though they look busy, there are lots of servers around.

The food is better than a Red Robin, but still has that chain taste and feel. Boring fries and buns, overdone and complicated salads, way too many fried and fatty menu items.

Several types of Ram brewed beers that are pretty good. I always like the 1971 Pale Ale.

The service at the U Village Ram is great. Mostly staffed by UW students who work hard and are friendly.

I'll go back again...for the kids.

Oh dear. Maybe we had a fledgling new waitress but I think she got 25% of our order dead wrong. As in actual slices of a regular pickle in a cup instead of deep-fried pickle chips. Or how about buffalo chicken strips sans the buffalo sauce? Tsk tsk!

I've only been here on trivia nights and random Sundays (half off most of the food menu i.e. get the steak!) Trivia gets ridiculously packed and most teams show up at 9 pm or earlier even though it doesn't begin till 10. The majority of the questions are pop-culture based and I found it just goes way too fast to really have any fun with it. If our group can't discuss for even a quick minute, there's no debating to be had.

The pros though, you'll always find parking in U Village and they have $3 (32 oz) beers during trivia which is fabulous. You'll mostly find yourself amongst Huskies made evident by the sometimes vulgar but also half hilarious team names that crop up when the scores are announced.

The Ram is where you want to go when you want food at a level between "the ave" & a steakhouse.  You want to sit down and have good service & food, but you don't want the bill to be ugly and want it to be a laid back experience.

They give you a clear idea of what they're going for, and they execute it really well.  It's American diner fare with some brews (some great, others meh), executed at an above-average level.  You have your steaks, sandwiches, burgers, ect, but the flavors are well thought out, and it tastes great.

I kind of wonder whether the lesser ratings are due to expectations that this is more of a fine dining experience, to me, it's an above-average diner type restaurant, and they do a great job at that.

I would recommend the chicken burger marinated with beer (forget which beer) & the french dip based on the ~7 times I've been.  I've also had salmon and a steak, both of which were good.  In terms of their beers, go with the hef.

I went to the Ram on a Sunday Night where I was told the entire bar menu as well as all beverages - beers - drafts and bottles, wells, premiums, calls, etc are all 50% off.

The bar started to pack in around 9:30 with plenty of UW Students who were all out in force looking for a great deal. Danny, the bartender was terrific; extremely attentive - constantly checking if I needed an additional drink; or to place a food order.

My entire check with 3 drinks; and a order of mozzarella sticks was roughly $12 which I felt was a steal. All in all it was a great experience; I look forward to coming more often on Sunday's and being served by Danny.

A typical chain restaurant, like "Rock Bottom" but  bit better. I love how the bar is large and has lots of tv's to watch all the sporting events. The booths are always up for grabs, and there are many chairs around the bar. I constantly felt a cold draft from the door and had to keep my winter coat on all evening. Where was the heat?!
The food was basic, nothing to brag about. Typical salads, burgers, entrees. They did have a decent drink selection and I got a "skinny" margarita. Pint beers are on special when ever there is a pro game playing.

Will I come back? Maybe. If I am in a large group, looking to watch the Hawks play and want a decent drink. Food? Nah.
