What can be said about Ralibertos that hasn't in the other reviews. This place is open 24/7 however they aren't open on holidays. Working in the area I had the joy of watching a co-worker have Ralibertos a few times. After the first time I had asked about the restaurant and we had a wonderful conversation. I was told different stories from not to try it all the way up to you have to try it. I made the decision to try Ralibertos and I can honestly say that I am not disappointed. I have made three visits and each time trying something different. The best so far was the carne asada tacos meal. It comes with two carne asada tacos rice and beans for 5.95. Probably the best deal out there and surely the best deal at 1 or 2 in the morning especially in the Wheat Ridge area.

Not the best experience I've ever had but not the worst either.
I went to Ralibertos on the recommendation of a friend who just raves about it. As it is with most of these Little taco huts, you have to know what the proprietor specializes in to get a good measure of the fare. I'm not sure I targeted the pinnacle items.
I ordered two beef tacos and a smothered beef and bean burrito to go. The lady that took my order wasn't very fluid in English but she seemed to understand what I wanted. This isn't a knock by any means. I am a firm believer that if I am in a Mexican Establishment, and the staff are of the same decent, that I am in the right place. I mean, who knows the food better?
So I dug right into the tacos, They were crispy fried perfection filled with shredded beef, minimal lechuga and just the right amount of queso. I applied the provided tomatilla salsa and I have to tell you, I loved these tacos! These are just like the tacos you would get off the street in any little border town. Yum!
The burrito was smoothed in a light green chili verde that was very tasty and had some decent heat. If anyone knows me they know I love the heat! This was not exactly up to my standard of heat but it gave a good effort. The only issue I had was with the burrito filling, I asked for beef and bean, I think that's what I got but I am not quite certain. The beans were good but the beef had more tomato's in it than beef. it was almost like a bean and tomato burrito with a little beef added. I'm still not quite sure that I got what I ordered. The flavor was OK, not exceptional.
So, like I said, I'm not sure I got to the root of the matter regarding the menu and ordering what they do best. I will return, and I will keep trying different items until I find that one or two things that Ralibertos does best.

Review from Ken K.
Ralibertos Mexican Food has that special mismatched/missing ceiling tiles taste. As in, only places with mismatched or missing ceiling tiles achieve this flavor. I'm not sure what the flavor is, but I'm sure it's good for you.
First, the menu is impressively complete. I went for my Mexican food benchmark, the chili relleno plate. The rellenos were delicious, fresh-tasting, and served with a spicy habenero salsa you can add for that extra kick. Unfortunately, they weren't very crispy and they weren't served with green chili but rather some green chili/bean mix, which is baffling.
I also tried the "heart stopper" (not actually printed on menu) breakfast burrito with carne asada and eggs. It's deliciously greasy and wrapped in a chewy, thin, almost transparent tortilla that defies explanation. Yummy.
I'll be back, Ralibertos. Fortunately, your incredibly low prices will help me save up for some copays. -

As I'm thinking back to Ralibertos, all I can say is - We shouldn't have gone inside. Their poor ceiling fans haven't been cleaned in years i'd guess. They were covered with a nice coating of black crust. The place was pretty dirty. I really hate a dirty restaurant. It makes me really question the cleanliness of the kitchen.
We decided to order the food to go at that point. A bean burrito, a couple tacos, and a quesadilla. We've decided these are the basics to try that will give us a good overall opinion. Everything was pretty tasty. I really enjoyed the tacos, and the homemade (i'm guessing) tortillas. But holy crap, the quesadilla had more grease dripping from it then the french fry baskets at McDonalds. The portions were HUGE. The food was GREASY. I can see why this is a good "after the bar" location. Just go through the drive-thru. But for lunch...yeah, no thanks :-) -

Oh Ralibertos I love you!
So the wife and I have been eating here for close to 7yrs. We have had some really great meals here. Everything from combo plates to the taco's and I have to say I've had more great meals here than any other place I go to. They are the real deal and I can't say enough about how good the food really is.
Here is my only complaint, they screw up orders, not all the time but they've done it more than once. It bugs me alot cause its usually the wife's order that they screw up and well we all know how that goes....Sigh! So the best thing to do is to ask them to repeat the order back at the window and sometimes the counter(I never go in).
Anyway give them a try any time of the day or night and enjoy! The carnitas taco's are amazing and the carne asada fries are so good and the chicken taco's....I think you get where I'm going with all of this. :) -
Review from Terry L.
Driving north about 8 am yesterday I noticed Ralibertos and thought- "What a great opportunity to check out another locally owned taqueria!"
Ralibertos makes a good sized breakfast burrito. I had the steak egg and cheese.
I really enjoyed their Red and Green sauces! I was very tempted to see about a to go container-- but didn't.
Service was terrible-- maybe the guy working the counter just didn't care much about life? who knows.
Either way- good breakfast.Listed in: MexiCan

First Impression: Smelled heavily of cleaning products upon entering. Then two white people showed up! I figured must be good. Almost burned my face off with the fire red salsa, I like it hot. And the value? Outstanding! For $15 got two gut buster dinners with enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
Do not hesitate! You will not be disapointed! -

Not sure how to rate this, as I might get beaten or shot for writing the truth. The large, unfriendly, angry and apparently mute order taker looked like he wanted to murder me for ordering food. Sorry for trying to eat here. Just wanted a burrito. If this was the best food in town, I would never eat here again.
Fortunately, the food was terrible. They did not drain the bacon in my breakfast burrito before throwing it in a tortilla with the other ingredients, so I ended up with a large pool of grease leaking out of the bottom.
A few bites tasted almost OK, but it's hard to get past the nasty oil and lack of flavor.
I'm just glad big and burly didn't shoot me. Don't think I'll risk it again. -

Definitely not a fine dining establishment. The place is super scummy, but the food is cheap and good for a fast food dive! The rolled taco's are great and just a plain bean and cheeser is delicious. Love this place! Especially at the wee hours of the morning.

If you are a night owl, go on the busier nights (fri/sat). On the slow weeknights, it's almost as if they (he) are not expecting anybody. The dude I got on a Tuesday night didn't seem to know how to operate the drive-thru system, so if that happens and there's nobody in front of you, just pull up to the window. He will hear the tires run over the little dinger thingy. He doesn't appear to be very awake or understand much English, but if you're speaking clearly, you can get some greasy-ass burritos and what-not. In this area, this beats the pants off of going to McDonald's, Wendy's or Taco Bell. Just don't expect TOO much. It IS just a greasy little hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint. Makes for great food to top off a night of libations, though. Inform your DD.

Pretty good mexican food! A lot better than Taco Bell! The price is right for the amount of food you get! I would go again for sure!

Oh so delicious carne asada burritos. I love that it's basically just meat and you can pick and choose what you want. I added every heart stopping, artery hardening extra I could and was in pure blissed out burrito heaven. This is the first place in Colorado that comes close to the burritos I miss in California. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing that K just moved right down the street from this spot. Love Ralibertos!

Review from Kelsey R.
Always delicious food for a very low price. Usually takes more time than you would expect, but always worth the wait. The breakfast burritos are a little greasy, but SO good. Taquitos with guacamole is another favorite- lots of guac comes with it.
Open 24 hours and it's a great place to go late at night. -

One thing this place has going for them is they are open 24 hours, so any late night carvers you are in luck. There breakfast burritos are very good and greasy other menu items such as tamales, enchiladas, and combos are decent for the price. Customer service is below standard you don't always feel very welcomed at times.

I'll start by saying that I'm a vegetarian and was severely limited in my options because of that. Quesadillas, cheese enchiladas, been burritos, etc. comprised the vegetarian dishes. It would have been nice to see some kind of grilled veggie burrito or something other than cheese and carbs in various forms.
I got the cheese enchiladas and, while the sauce on top was flavorful, the cheese inside wasn't even melted. Like, not at all melted. I really wanted to like this place since they're open late but I probably won't be returning. Unless I'm drunk and it's 3 a.m. That's entirely possible. -

I'm sorry to tell you, you lost a star, my friend. You lost a star. First, you jacked up my order, and I ended up with a taco salad that I didn't request. Now, I didn't pay for it, so that was cool. But it wasn't appealing enough for me to try more than a few bites. Then, my side order of beans was overloaded with lard, and was gray and runny. That is practically unforgivable, in my book! Then, your crappy packing job caused it to spill all over the bag. OK, maybe that last part was partially my fault for tossing it on the floor of my truck, but if it hadn't been so runny....
We've been through too much for me to throw it all away, but I'm concerned that you might be taking me for granted.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Matt P.
Thornton, CO
Ok, my review may seem a bit incomplete, but that's because my one and only visit to Ralibertos was at 2:30 AM last Friday, after seeing a show at the Larimer. I'm from San Diego. The band playing was from San Diego, and there were a number of other SD ex-pats in attendance. As it often does, our discussion meandered to the topic of places we miss from SD, and of course, the mighty 'Bertos was on the list (for those not in the know, 'Bertos is the name for any number of prolific taco shops in San Diego that all have names that end in -bertos, i.e. Robertos, Albertos, Ralibertos, etc.)
So what happens when you have a car full of drunken (minus the driver, of course) ex-San Diegans in the grip of a serious taco jones? You make the long-ass drive to 38th and Wadsworth at 2:30, of course!
And it was SOOOOO worth it. I had my staple: 2 beef taco combo, all beans, no rice. The fresh fried tortilla shell was hot and salty. The salsa was thin and runny and not too spicy (exactly how it should be). The beans were pretty good, but not too special. And the bag of hot carrots was overcooked, but I can totally overlook that as I was overjoyed that they had hot carrots in the first place.
My friends ordered way too much food, so when I got home, I grabbed an extra quesadilla with guac to eat inside (yes, I ate my tacos in the car... sue me). The quesadilla too, was perfect.
I can't really tell you what else was on the menu, how it looked inside, or what the prices were. But I can tell you, if you want a taste of a genuine San Diego style taco shop, this is it (going at 2:30 AM is an optional step).
Cheers!Listed in: Mex on the brain

Perhaps our first mistake was choosing drive-through.
We tried to order Tamales and two breakfast burritos. The guy through the window just kept saying, "what?" We finally figured out that they were out of Tamales so we ordered Chile Rellenos, not smothered. We pull up to the window after waiting 15 minutes behind another car, and they only hand us the Chiles. We ask them about the burritos, and he was like, wha??? So we go inside, wait another 15 minutes. We get home, open our food, and the Chiles are smothered.
Disclaimer: I am super white and from the east coast. Mexican food is not my thing. That notwithstanding, it's not that hard to get orders correct. -
Review from Mo C.
I've cruised past this restaurant a few times and finally decided to drive thru. Wow! About $13 got me a huge carne asada burrito (fantastic! loaded with beef and no lettuce or other cheap fillers), a chile relleno dinner with rice and beans (a "correctly made" chile relleno, soft not chimichanga style), and a quesadilla (plain, uncomplicated, enormous), not to mention tortillas & green and red hot sauces on the side. Hell to the yea!
So, got the grub home and was quite impressed. I'm picky about my rice, and this was not to my liking, but if thats the only bit I didn't dig, then this place is pretty damn good.
Downside, they only take cash. Even your Arby's and Taco Bell are taking cards now, but eh, just remember to bring some moola when you stop by. Also, this place definitely has the "I'm a drug front" kind of look and feel to it. Although I think it is fantastic that they are open 24hrs, I don't think you'll see me there at 3am.
So, hella good food (a MILLION times better than the other late night spot in the hood, Tacos TJ), a little sketchy kind of place, but will definitely find myself stopping in for some grub on the drive thru when in the area. -

FINALLY, found a place that takes me back to Southern California style (if I can call it that) Mexican Food! Grew up in San Diego loving Roberto's, Alberto's, Hilberto's etc...and the "way" they marinate their carne asadas. Hey, this place has a *berto's" at the end of it's name...that's already saying a lot! Just juicy meat with pico de gallo and guac...that's it, no rice no beans needed. After moving from San Diego to Bay Area in Cali more than 12 years ago, I've searched for that 1 place that can satisfy my craving. While I've hit a place here and there, it was never close enough. I always had to tweak my order...no rice no beans, add guac, etc etc. It took 3 months after moving to Denver, my husband stumbled upon this place and gave it a test drive. I had HIGH expectations. I was pleasantly surprised their flavor was very close to what I craved. Every place will always have their differences, but this place, I can say...I'm whole again. I can't say much about the physical location as the hubby brought it home a few times already. I also can't say much for other items on the menu. But my fave's with that "flavor" are carne asada burritos and rolled tacos...SoCal style...that's all I will ever need from a mexican joint.

I've given this place a fair shot. They have failed on every front. Especially cleanliness. It's not even a food-tastes-so-good-don't-mind-the-runs kind of unclean. It's the kind that produces a "Poppie" moment.

Another favorite from Yelp reviews..............
I had to try Railbertos after reading previous posts on Yelp. I drive by the place all the time (between Good Times and Big Lots) on Wadsworth. And I'm glad I tried it out.
I ordered the steak plate (from the picture on the window) and a green-chile smothered bean burrito with french fries. The tab came to $12ish for a huge amount of take-out food; leftovers too. I love the fact that they grill the tortillas before they send them out. Plus they gave us 5-6 little containers of their tomatillo salsa (not my fav, but kudos for the thought.)
Overall, decent food, better that Taco Bell. Great location and hours. Fantastic value for your money.Listed in: HANDS DOWN

Every time I come here I set out on a mission not to order the Super Nachos, and almost every time I fail. They have the cheapest and best 'road side' Mexican in the state. The dine in area is just a couple booths, and in the winter it is cold as hell, but worth it. They are also open 24 hours and they have a drive through.
I'm not going to lie to you; Raliberto's could change your life.Listed in: A little bit of Mexico in…

I ordered the fish tacos. Battered and fried fish with a ranch sauce, pico, lettuce and a green and red salsa. The battered fish didn't taste that fresh, but the tasty batter hid the fish flavor. The beans were runny but tasted good because of the lard I'm sure. Mighty fine Spanish rice. My fiance got the beef burritos which he liked he would possibly give 3 1/2 stars.
The salsas were spicy, but pass on the fish. I will go back, it is 24 hours. Better than Chipotle, but Senor Burritos beats it.
My favorite part, the spicy carrots. -

Good, greasy mexican, not as good as the Raliberto's at Sheridon & 80th. The lettuce had a flavor that Burger King lettuce has, kind of preserved (did not like that), but it's good enough to go back often.

One of the best things that came out of Yum Brands was the plethora of Taco Bells turned into authentic Mexican Food establishments spread across the United States. Ralibertos is one of those gems located in the middle of America and is so typically next to a Wenchells Donuts and Goodyear Tire. I once worked pretty far down on Sheridan at a waterski shop, i knew nothing about waterskis, and this was my lunch for that summer. Everything is amazing, from the California Burrito to the tacos. If you are heading down South from Boulder to any number of skateparks this is a must detour!

Stopped in for lunch and ordered a carne asada burrito (smothered). A word to the wise... the burrito is as big as your head... I think it's bigger than Chipotle. And it was stuffed with carne asada and some guacamole... no rice, beans, or extras... all meat. It was HUGE! The green chile that smothered it was fantastically spicy... it left my lips warm when I left... and that's what I like.
My pseudo hubby ordered the 5 rolled tacos with guacamole... they are essentially small taquitos... they were tasty too, but I don't know if I'd get them for my entire meal.
They also have a red & green salsa at the counter that you can serve yourself to go with your dish. The red sauce had really good flavor and a little spice - not quite as a hot as the green chile. The green salsa seemed more of a tomatillo and was heavy on the cilantro for us.
My gigantic burrito was 3.95 +1.25 smothered ... you can't beat that price. The whole menu was affordable. Next time I'll have to try the tamales! -

I dont think this place ever closes so if you are out and about at 2 am and need food you can skip the taco bell or wendys drive up because this place has you covered. The food here is top notch and the place is pretty damn clean inside for a hole in the wall type place.

I really wanted to like the place. Great tasting, junky Mexican food at down-to-earth prices. Open late. However, on my 3rd and most recent visit, I noticed a small, dead fly in my tamale! Needless to say I got grossed out and had a hard time finishing my food. Otherwise I'd of given 'em 4 stars. By the way, they do accept credit cards, contrary to what another reviewer wrote.

Finally a real authentic Mexican hole in the wall. I moved to denver from san diego about 5 years ago and have been searching for that authentic cheap mexican restaurant.. Randomly, we saw Ralibertos and decided to give a try. The carne asada plate is incredible. They also have really good salsa, a bit hot, but I can handle it. Definitely worth driving to, wish there were one closer here in denver.....If you're looking for Cali mex, this is the closest thing to it, although no fish tacos.

Decent portions of tasty food for the money. I can say that Ralibertos makes Taco Bell look healthy. Depending on what you order it maybe dripping with grease. They make their own salsa and tomatillo which is definitely a welcome change from Taco Bell hot sauce and green sauce. If your not worried about your health and want some quick Mexican, I would say give this place a try.

This is the place to go for a great carne asada or carnitas! The super Nachos are great after a night of drinking! Growing up in southern Arizona, this is as close as I can get to the mexican food I loved! There's lots to try, but there is nothing like a big fat burrito with a horchata to wash it down!
