Our family LOVES Cane's. This location never disappoints. Friendly staff - mostly teens or students - and quick service.
My only recommendation here? Get extra Cane's sauce. You'll need it. ;) -
Review from Jen R.
If you're having serious cravings for chicken fingers, this must be the place to get 'em? *cough cough* Although I still prefer the ones at Chick-Fil-A over these...
The menu is so simple, it's ridiculous! It's straight up just chicken fingers or a chicken sandwich that you can choose from. Having stopped at this joint an hour before closing, I opted for the chicken fingers which came with a side of fries, cole slaw, their signature bread and sauce. It was made quick and, tasted good and fulfilled my cravings. The texture of the chicken fingers was crispy and easy to bite. The fries were pretty good too, not bad. -

From all that I have heard, this place was the holy grail of chicken tenders.
So why is it that I'm underwhelmed?
It's not the service, the people at the Houston Location were friendly and helpful, it's the tenders. Bland. Even the sauce doesn't help.
I mean, I'm not trying to be mean or awful, but when I hear rave reviews about how good the tenders are, and I bite into one, and I think wistfully of, oh, Whataburger's, something has gone wrong.
Put some black pepper in the batter. Something with some zing. Maybe it's just me, but the word that keeps coming to me when I try to describe the tenders is bland. -

I love Raising Cane's. Do not go here if you do not want chicken fingers though. There is only one main course on the menu chicken fingers ... the chicken sandwich is just chicken fingers with a bun.... I normally get 2 fingers with french fries and Texas toast ........ the fingers are nice and crisp and homemade tasting... it is just strips of cut chicken breast no worrying about getting chicken butt or mystery meat here...I love the crinkle fries too... they taste frozen but I like them still...I normally order extra cane sauce to dip my fries in... . ... there is fresh squeezed lemonade here but I prefer the sweet tea.......

Wow, what a perplexing assignment to write a review on this place. While I love their high quality and fresh chicken fingers, as well as their sauce and fries, I just don't get the "one trick pony concept"..... Uhh, like dude, if you don't want chicken fingers or a chicken finger sandwich, then you may need to go somewhere else. While I am not suggesting they start serving up cheeseburgers or roast beef sandwiches, how about a nice salad with chicken fingers or some other chicken dish? I guess I am being too analytical here as the proliferation of these places has increased dramatically in the last 5 years in TX. So I find it hard to give Cane's more than 3 stars even though their CF sandwich is superb.

Kansas City, MO
This is the Raising Cane's that broke my wife's CSV (Chicken Strip Virginity)
After being exposed to it in Louisiana, I moved to Kansas City in tears. wishing they had one of these. But yet nobody is willing to put up a franchise yet.
So when we drive down to Houston I was determined to feed my crave. While my friend drove us around the area I spotted it off the street and told him we MUST eat here. My wife began to nag and give me the usual sermon for 9:00PM fast-food cravings. "It's 9PM it's too late for you to eat, blah blah blah, we just ate dinner 3 hours ago blah blah blah)
So she blabbered and blabbered while we waited in the drive thru for the strips. When I told her literally "Here, CHEW on THIS!" she immediately went like this:
blah blah bla.......chomp.........oh my............chomp........Now I understand what all of the fuss is about ..............chomp ......chomp.......gulp..............Can I have another?
I was NOT sharing my strips. (we share a bunch of stuff, and I love my woman, but there was NO way i was giving up my chicken!) so we turned around and got her an order.
And THAT is why i'm reviewing this location :) -

After reading the other reviews, I had to stop by here because I love chicken fingers. One could say I'm a finger food junkie. Plus, the location is relatively close to the office so I figured this would be a win/win.
I couldn't have been more wrong. Honestly, I don't see what the attraction is here. Whataburger makes a better finger in my opinion. I really wanted to like this place, but the sauce that the fingers came with was bland and uninspiring, and the price was crazy for chicken fingers. It's so sad when you go into a place with high hopes and get let down, and that's exactly what they did. I will not be returning.Listed in: The "Get It Together" List

With all due respect, I must correct Cyrus S. The sauce is not honey mustard. It is a mixture of ranch dressing and BBQ sauce with some secret spices. There is no honey or mustard to be found.
I also need to check David N. The restaurant is not named after a greyhound. It is named after the owner's golden retriever. Thanks for playing.
Best chicken fingers ever. I docked them a point for not offering side salads or other dipping options, such as the honey mustard sauce that Cyrus hallucinated. ;) -

Let me start of by saying this: I hate fast food and I'm not a big fan of chicken.
So how exactly did I end up eating here? Well, everyone else I know likes chicken.
See. as a kid I had a bad experience with reheated fried chicken. Really bad experience. So I'm a little wary of anything deep fried as a whole. But Cane's chicken is moist and it isn't greasy. The sauce is wonderful--I wish they sold it in stores so I could use it as sandwich spread. The lemonade is refreshing and not Country Time--always a bonus in my book.
No, the selection isn't huge and this isn't going to be the place you take your vegetarian friend. Your choices are chicken, more chicken, even more chicken, and chicken on a sandwich. Bam. I just helped you find out what you're going to have.
I'll grant that the fries seemed like the kind you get frozen at the grocery store, but come on! This is fast food. It isn't exactly gourmet eating. Texas Toast is what it is: thick bread. No surprises there.
The thing that I really think sets at least this Raising Cane's apart from other fast food joints is the staff. They're friendly. They talk to you. They don't act like you're ruining their eight hour paid break, so I'll most likely keep on going to this location even though there ones closer to me. -

I always order chicken fingers in places that I don't like, because I think that they are hard to screw up. On the other hand, I never really thought that there was such a thing as an amazing chicken finger. Raising Cane's has ruined me, because now I know what a good chicken finger is like.
This is the closest thing to In-N-Out Burger that I can find in Texas. They have a small menu that they clearly obsess over. The chicken fingers are made from fresh chicken by hand and a fried-to-order. They come with crinkle-cut french fries, coleslaw, special sauce, and freshly-buttered Texas toast. All are excellent, and that is all that's on the menu.
Highly recommended. -

My sister was confined at the West Houston Medical Center when I discovered Raising Canes. I thought id walk out and see what I could find to eat since hospital food is not my exactly my favorite. I passed Phoenicia and Lubys but wasnt really in the mood for Mediterranean or Americana so I walked onwards.
Lured by the beaming lights, I entered Raising Caines and ordered some chicken fingers and fries. Those chicken fingers were good: moist, flavorful and non greasy good. It was accompanied by a great dipping sauce that seemed to be a cross between ranch and thousand island or BBQ sauce. Whatever it was - it was the perfect compliment to the chicken fingers. I liked the fries too - they were thinner cut than usual which made it crisiper than your regular, fast food french fry.
All told, Raising Canes was an unexpected surprise. Ive been back several times since then, under more auspicious circumstances (eg no more sister in hospital). -

The name of the restaurant actually has 'chicken fingers' in it, that's how confident they are...'those cocky bastards', I thought.
Walked in and the menu is simple, like In-N-Out Burger as Bill C. pointed out, and cheap. Bought some chicken fingers, dipped it in the honey mustard dressing, and took a bite. Fresh, crunchy, juicy....all the things that make us love chicken strips was all there.
I dare you to come here and try there chicken fingers. I don't eat fast food very often, but for what it is, this place deserves 5 stars. Chick-fila is screwed, those non-sunday to good for us nonbelievers restaurant. -
Review from Long T.
Chicken fingers and sauce. Being an Aggie, this place reminds me of Layne's in College Station. The chicken fingers are pretty good - not too dry and actually rather succulent. The sauce is a variation on the peppery/creamy/southwest sauce... it's pretty good and I found myself mopping up the sauce with the chicken fingers. I got a Caniac box, which for just over 8 bucks gets you 6 fingers, cole slaw, crinkle cut fries, and a hunk of texas toast.. I wouldn't drive clear across town for this, but since I work in the area, I wouldn't mind stopping in again if I ever have a craving for chicken fingers and that sauce...
oh and the sweet tea... omg. -

Oh....the Sauce. I think it is a roumalade....it's definitely cajun. And it reminds me of some of the best Po' Boys I've had in Louisiana. You could dip anything in this sauce and it would be fantastic. But Cane's doesn't stop there. They have awesome hand-dipped chicken fingers that are always hot and fresh. I consider them low carb because they barely have any breading at all. They are perfect.
All the other sides are great....the fries, coleslaw and Texas toast. But I always get 5 chicken fingers and 2 sauces. They are really cool about ordering al a carte. -

Raising Cane's does one thing, and does it stunningly well. Chicken fingers. Yes, chicken fingers. According to their website, they start with fresh chicken tenderloins - not frozen - and marinate them for at least 24 hours. According to my taste buds, that's true. The chicken is then battered by hand, and fried up piping hot and fresh with a side of Cane's Sauce. While the chicken fingers are tasty, and obviously premium white chicken meat, it's the Cane's sauce that will keep you coming back for more. I'm sure the ingredients of the sauce are secret, but I'll take a guess that it's a combination of primarily mayonnaise, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Whatever it is, it's fantastic, and you'll soon find yourself craving it. If you don't, though, you can also request honey mustard sauce.
The menu features only four combos - three are chicken finger meals, and the other a chicken finger sandwich meal. All meals come with Cane's crinkle fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and a drink. The crinkle fries are always golden and crispy, with a tender - and very hot - inside. (In fact, I suspect that they make the fries fresh with each order, as well.) The coleslaw is crispy, but in my opinion, a bit bland, with none of the sweetness of, say, KFC's coleslaw. The Texas toast is grilled on one side to a crunchy, garlic butter perfection. Drinks are the usual offering of Coke products, with two standout beverages: sweet tea and fresh lemonade. I've never tried the lemonade, although my daughter assures me it's excellent, but the sweet tea is smooth and mellow, if perhaps a tad too sweet.
The location that I frequent is located at 1201 Westheimer, on the south side of Westheimer between Dairy Ashford and Kirkwood roads. Although they have a dining room, I've always used the drive-through. The service has always been exceptionally pleasant, fast, and the food fresh and hot.Listed in: My Neighborhood

Raising Cane's. I'd heard amazing things about their chicken fingers so I decided to stop by and give it a try.
The order we placed was pretty simple. 2 chicken finger meals with fries - nothing exciting. When the order arrived, it was wrong. When I looked over the receipt, I realized they had not entered the order properly and we didn't have enough food. So, I went to the front and asked if we could pay the difference and get what we'd originally ordered. The employees were so apologetic, they just gave us the extra food and went out of their way to make the order right.
For fast food chicken fingers, these were better than most I've had. I don't typically eat chicken fingers at fast food places because they are typically dry and bland. Raising Cane's chicken fingers were fresh and juicy - something you would pay a lot more for at a sit down casual dining establishment. I was impressed by the quality and would return if I had some lunch time to kill in that area again.
Good job on taking care of your customer and serving up fresh, fast food! -
Review from Kelly N.
I'm not THAT into chicken strips so maybe my review my be irrelevant. It's decent though. Fresh white meat..and the batter isn't so thick and overwhelming like other places. Crinkly fries...meh. I enjoyed those when I was in elementary school, not so much now. The sauce is alright...tastes like sauce you dip for crawfish when you want to relieve some spiciness!
I will give them props on their toast...nice and buttery... and this is the first place where I actually like the lemonade! I usually don't drink lemonade but I just had a craving so I tried it. Tastes like how lemonade should taste like...not that tart -squinch- my-face lemonade at Chik-fil-A. -

I have heard the guys from Raising Cane's on the radio and heard friends from Louisiana swear by these wings, so when I was in the neighborhood, I thought I would swing by and give it a try.
Since I had heard of these chicken fingers in advance, I knew not to expect much other than...well...chicken fingers.
Were they good? Sure. Were they the best I have ever had? No, actually not. I think Houston's still has better chicken fingers. Maybe even chic-fil-a. But, yes, they are good.
Would I go out of my way to drive across town for some? No, I wouldn't, they just aren't all that great. There is a higher chance of me driving hours to find a chic-fil-a then heading the 20 minutes it would take for me to get to Raising Cane's.
Now, if I were in the mood and in the area, would I stop again? Sure, but it isn't on my top list for sure. -

I was running late to work and forgot my lunch so I decided to check out canes. The chicken fingers were made to order and the cane sauce was like a smokey honey mustard. Very good! I'll defiantly grab some chicken from them if I'm running late again!

Being originally from Baton Rouge (and an employee of this company for 2 weeks), I consider myself a self-proclaimed Caner! The only reason I'm not giving this restaurant all 5 stars is because the size of the chicken strips have decreased and the prices slightly increased. Nonetheless, I can promise you this is chicken at it's absolute finest and is in fact NEVER frozen! That sauce is to die for and I always forget they offer honey mustard for the folks who claim not to like it.
The menu is simple and you never mind the wait because rest assured your food will be hot when you get it. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a spin on their usual drive-thru experiences! -
Review from David N.
Simply the best chicken fingers. And that's about all they serve. Very simple menu. They are good at what they do and they stick to it. The sauce is also awesome! Random fact but this restaurant was named after a greyhound that was at Gulf Greyhound Park. It's name was P's Raising Cane. It held the track record for many years until his daughter Grace Land Blaze broke the record. Yes they both made me a good amount of money.

I passed Cane's quite a few times before I decided to stop in and see what it was all about. I got the "Cane box" and the chicken fingers were good, not fantastic, but good. The fries were your standard crinkle fries, not spectacular, but crispy, golden fries. The special sauce was...ok. The service was just like any other fast food joint. The coleslaw was a bit watery and not so good. Overall, I'll probably go back. But I must admit you have to be in that craving mood for a chicken finger....honestly, I prefer the whataburger chicken fingers

I love chicken. The first time I ate at a Raising Canes was the original one in Baton Rouge, LA about 7 years ago. I immediately loved the canes sauce and the fresh chicken strips and the texas toast that it comes with when you order a combo. Make sure to also get sweet tea as your beverage. It is on the sweet side so I mix the sweet tea with the unsweeten and its perfect for me. I now go to the one in Westchase. I am a frequent customer. Must try it if you love chicken fingers!

Best. Lemonade. Ever. Period. And garlic toast. and sauce. Oh yeah, and the chicken fingers rock. (BTW - you can subsitute an extra sauce for the tiny cole slaw for free). Once you go, you know.
