I was lured in by the gorillas and over sized fish tanks.  By the time I got over it, it was too late...I had already ordered.  lunch was 32 bucks.

my girlfriend ordered a subpar turkey wrap and I had a a 'signature' chicken chimichanga which wasn't bad at all...but over priced.

The decor was made more as a children's attraction...and by the end of the 3rd 'lightning' storm I had a headache.

you win this round rainforest cafe...but I wont be back (voluntarily) anytime soon

Overpriced food, dirty bathrooms, slow service. Enough said.

Stay away it's a tourist trap and I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning last time. They get one star for the lightning show.

The Rainforest Cafe makes me think of a Disney style jungle.  Everything is fake and animated way over the top but cool if you're into that sort of thing.  There are huge fish tanks throughout the place and fake thunderstorms where the lights flicker and a little rain falls that can help keep you entertained while you wait for your food.

The menu has a great selection of stuff.  The quality is spotty though.  I've been here a few times because I'm a sucker for over the top stuff and had great food and poor food so it's kind of pot luck.  A little pricey though.

There is always a really long wait here. I recommend making a reservation as soon as you get to the mall, and then come back at your time.
The food here is OK. Nothing special, but it's not bad. It's fun for kids (and my boyfriend) because of all the animated animals and the fake thunderstorms. I had a turkey wrap and it was...a turkey wrap. The boyfriend had a burger and it was...a burger. Nothing special.
On our last visit the service was pretty bad and we had to deal with a kid who was freaking out over the giant elephant by his table.
Rainforest Cafe is a great place for a kids birthday party- as long as your kid isn't afraid of giant elephants.

The Appetizer sample was pretty decent and filling for two people. I was stuffed by the end of the appetizer even though I had ordered a meal for myself.

The tilapia was not good. Fried shrimp skewers were tasty. Paella was weird - andouille sausage is a weird sausage to add to the paella and made it very spicy. Something was off, but I can't pinpoint my finger on it.

The smoothies probably have way too many calories - more than a Big Mac probably. It was heavy, thick, and creamy. And on top of that, I didn't think it was that great. I was recommended the Key Wester and the "other" one that was like a chocolate Oreo cookie shake (this was slightly better, but it was nowhere the best shake I've ever had still).

I don't find the food quality to be very high here. I do second Keat's comparison that it reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory. Why? High prices, fusion of cuisines (nothing to do with the cuisines of the South America, at all), and the flavors didn't really win me over - but I think that's because of the quality of the food or of the cooking. It tastes like the food has been prepared for a lot of people instead of it being prepared to order.

It's family friendly and "fun" for kids. Just come here if you have plenty of money and also young family members that love entertainment while dining.

I had the Awesome Appetizer sampler -- Caribe Chicken Tenders, Crab Dip, Fried Calamari, Chimi-Cha-Cha -- and liked the first three.  The Chimi Cha-Cha was like a spring roll gone wrong, so that was the only weak appetizer.  I loved the crispy and tender calamari, and the honey mustard dipping sauce for the chicken was yummy.

Prices are in line with Cheesecake Factory, but the atmosphere is somewhat more downmarket but welcoming to families.  I think kids will definitely love a visit to the Rainforest Cafe -- lots of faux stuff -- elephants and apes, plus waiters dressed as park rangers.  There is also faux rain dripping from the ceiling into a river, and simulated thunder and lightning.

I will definitely eat there again if I am the Sawgrass Mills Outlet Mall.
