This is a great spot for cheap haircuts! its a hit or miss sometimes if you don't 1. speak chinese 2. have a picture.
i like this place because a man's cut and shampoo is only $12!! i'd pay that alone for the shampoo job they do! the hairdressers are really kind and are willing to do everything to get the hair you want. just as Jack S. suggested, hand gestures and some patience are key for a good outcome.
i don't tend to "love" the haircut i get when i walk out, but a week later when it grows out a bit, it looks great. lol... i think that's how all hair cuts are, it has to grow out a bit to look good, or am i just delusional? either way, i haven't been here in awhile, since i've been cutting my own hair! (tough economic times...) but when i do eventually get it professionally cut again, they are the first ones i will go to!
ps. parking is a bitch on weekends!!! one time, i went on a sunday (i come from NJ) and i drove around for 30 minutes only to drive BACK to nj because there was no parking...i refuse to pay at a lot.
That place is awesome, I dont have to travel long distances to get there. Its like down the street from my house, people are great but they dont speak much english, they speak Cantonese, which luckily, I speak as well, they are very patient, they explain to you what they're gonna do to your head, shampoo is awesome there, ands so cheap, 15 dollars for a womens shampoo and cut. I got my hair highlighted for free since my dad knows the people there and they did an awesome job. Theyre very nice people. And they give you time to pick out what you want.
By the waym while your there, pick up a bottle of Biosilk hair shampoo and conditioner :D
Located in Chinatown, this is my favorite place to get a cheap trim in between stints at my usual salon--$18. Prices for all services are incredible! Minimal waiting time. Even though the staff doesn't seem to speak much English, with just a few hand gestures my cuts always come out fine. Nice head massage with the shampoo, too.
