Valentines Day. A Hallmark Holiday that every guy dreads. Be it the endless hoops that we jump through. The PERFECT Card. The PERFECT Chocolate Box Set. The PERFECT Jewelry. The PERFECT BLAH BLAH BLAH. In general this day makes a guy go CRAZY!
Being that it was my first Valentines day with my GF. I wanted to make things extra special. Being a good BF means you have to "listen". Well it paid off handsomely. She LOVES White Casablanca's. So I searched trusty old YELP and looked for florists in and around the Gas Lamp District in SD. Since I was staying at The W Hotel I wanted to have the flowers ready when we got to the room.
Calling in my order was easy. Told the person over the phone what I wanted and how much I was willing to spend. She calmed my nerves and told me that everything will be ok.
Now buying flowers over the phone and having it sent to a loved on. Is like purchasing a Russian Mail Order Bride. You see pictures and get descriptions. But once you give your CC # and get that order confirmation. You're at the point of no return. I guess that's why they call it Russian Roulette as well. But when I saw the flowers [ http://static.px.yelp....] . I knew some Boom Boom Pow was going Down later that night!
Rainbow Flowers. If I had conceived a baby that night. I would dutifully named my first born Rainbow. Well...maybe not.

Rainbow Flowers did all the table arrangements and bouquets for my wedding. Marie did an amazing job. She helped me narrow down what I wanted and worked with my price range. She even set up the candles I had for the tables at the reception, and the stakes with hydrangeas and ribbon at the ceremony site.
I HIGHLY recommend Rainbow Flowers. The staff is also great, and the store is so perfect and smells SO good.
This is my favorite florist in San Diego. High quality flowers, beautiful and original arrangements, interesting and unique containers, and I think the prices are very reasonable for the quality of flowers and the skillful, friendly service.
Had to add on - I took an arrangment to my dad, who was in the hospital and I could not even get through the parking lot before getting 4 compliments on the flowers. By the time I got to the room about 10 people had commented. My mom said everyone who came to the room commented on how gorgeous they were! Can't go wrong with Rainbow Flowers
This place is great! The only way to describe their bouquets is striking. They are absolutely gorgeous and different from anything else you'll find. I went there based on the reviews here on yelp and I was very impressed. I wanted basic bouquets and they were able to create gorgeous bouquets for $20 with a mix of huge lilies and Gerber daisies. As my order changed the day of pick up, they were completely supportive and had everything ready for me on time.
I have only used 1 florist in San Diego ever.
Rainbow Flowers. They have never let me down, ever!
I call them on the phone, tell them who the flowers are for, (ie. age of the recipient; relationship to them; the amount of money I want to spend) and they end up making the most amazing bouquet ever! They get the colors down, use unique flowers, wrap it up beautifully and have it ready for pick up or deliver it for me on time.
Each time I am knocked off my feet with their service, and final product and their consistency. A lot of florists make generic bouquets that are standard cheese. Not this place.
I don't know anyone's name there, and it's probably a different girl each time I call but I have never ever been let down with this place!!
It's probably pricier than what I normally would see, but the quality makes all the difference. And so what, tell them upfront what you want to spend out the door and they'll still amaze you!
Rainbow Flowers did an outstanding job on both of my orders out of state and in state.
I read on Yelp that it's a great place and it's a local place near my friend's residence. I placed a call to order an arrangement to be delivered to my friend's home for her birthday. I told them my budget and they created the arrangement. My friend loved it and received great care instruction to prolong the life of the amazing arrangement and enjoyment of it. She still talked about how beautiful they were.
Now I moved back and it's the place I went when my friend has her first baby. I ordered the baby flower arrangement in person this time with Nikki and she did a fabulous job. It's still beautiful going into the fourth day. My friend love it as much as the first arrangement. I get to see it in person this time and love it a lot.
Thanks you Rainbow Flowers for creating such beautiful arrangements and providing such great services. The pleasure of these memories will be treasured always.
This place really surprised me. Typically, I'm 100% loyal to Mission Hills Florist (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), but Friday afternoon, I confirmed a sitter for a surprise "date night" with my wife, and needed to make the most of my limited time before heading home to pick her up. I was at the post office in Hillcrest, and remembered that this florist was here. Just needed an armload of Stargazers (one of my wife's favorites), nothing fancy. Walked into the small shop, found myself surrounded by tons of amazing flowers, and a friendly shopkeeper. She picked out stems that had a combination of full-bloomed flowers, and ones that had yet to open, wrapped them in a pretty brown paper wrapping, and included a Gerber daisy on the outside of the bouquet. All of it, just over $20! The wife was thrilled, and four days later, the flowers still look great.
I'm a fan, and won't hesitate to patronize them regularly.
Walked in to Rainbow Flowers without a clue as to what sort of arrangement to get my roommate for her birthday. I told the super friendly person behind the counter that I really didn't know what to get and she asked how much I wanted to spend, whether my roomie liked earthy or bright colors, wrapping or vase. I paid and hoped for the best.
Come to find today that the arrangement was gorgeous and that it was delivered perfectly on time. Real, real impressed (but not surprised) with the quality of Rainbow Flowers.

I have been to this flower shop three or four times and, like Denise said, they have never let me down. The people who work there are fantastic, very attentive and knowledgeable. All I have to do is mention who or what I need the flowers for and how much I'd like to pay, and they come up with these wonderful creations. I can't count how many compliments the bouquets have received. It's a true pleasure to do business with them, and I will return soon!
They're not the cheapest, but I don't think we've ever walked out of there thinking we didn't get a good value. It's the only local florist we use.
