This is a good place. They have almost everything that whole foods does. They have a fresh salad bar too. It is just a little confusing finding stuff.  I stlll like the co-op in santa monica better but this place is a close second. They also have some unusual items like different types of herbs, grains, etc.

Just moved to the neighborhood an found this place. It looks small from the outside and it is small on the inside, but it is FULL and I mean FULL  of things I can't find at Whole Foods. Great deli, excellent selection of sugar free energy drinks, and a nice selection of teas.

This is one of my staples for food!

Twice a month I stock up on my various supplements and teas--which they have a large variety of.

The deli has a great selection of homemade salads and entrees, as well as "raw" and living prepared foods from local eateries (Leaf Cuisine).

I liked this place. But it is more expensive than Whole Foods. And while I'd like to support a smaller business, it hurts me to pay more when I know each item is a couple dollars cheaper at Whole Foods. I don't think I would want to do my regular grocery shopping here. But they did have a sprout jar which I couldn't find anywhere else (not that I really need a sprout jar) and bulk foods/teas which you don't find much anymore. The staff there was wonderful. I wouldl go back again.

I am an SF Bay Area resident so I do not have occasion to shop at Rainbow Acres in-person, however i certainly will any time I am in the vicinity.
However I have become aware of them because they have a wholesale distributor operation that supplies other health food and specialty stores with certain items, one of which is a sprouting jar for growin' your own sald sprouts from seed.
I purchased onme locally and had a question as to its proper use, so I went right to the source!
I called their store and explained to the routing operator what my need was. I was promptly sent over to an employee who identified himself as Doug.
Doug was a patient, great listener and responded with useful, supportive information and various options to try.
He also encouraged me to call him back and let him know the outcome.
This showed a genuine caring and dedication to customer service, which has become a vanishing commodity in the retail business.
Kudos to Doug and to Rainbow for hiring him!

Same healthy deli and review as the Marina Del Rey location: http://www.yelp.com/bi...

The exception here is that it's less crowded, the market is larger and the deli menu/ordering system is more confusing than the one in MDR.

The other exception is, I probably won't see Gail at this location.

Wow!  I haven't been here in a LONG time and I barely recognize the place.  It's tripled in size.  For such a small place, they seem to have everything!  This place is a natural food and body products orgy.  I can't get over how small it is compared to Whole Foods but how much more cool stuff they carry.  This is a real independent health food store -- the real deal.  Unlike Whole Foods, the items on the shelf are actual healthy, whole food products.

For the hard core health food corps, they've got a little sprouting section, a special gluten free wall, a raw foods case, a bulk foods wall.  In addition, they've got exotic, gourmet items up the wazoo.  I've never heard of lavender honey, but they carry it.  Sounds yummy.  They also sell bulk extra virgin olive oil, bulk Agave nectar and bulk Grade B maple syrup (and provide plastic containers for you to put them in).  I'm telling you, the health nuts are the original foodies!  They discover something great and exotic, like coconut water straight from the coconut (just crack open and add straw) and then the general public eventually hears about it, embraces it and realizes it's a keeper.

Removal of one star because the prices are a little inflated.  Example: they're selling Airborne here for $7.99 and Trader Joe's carries it for $5.99.  Same for my favorite stevia powder (KAL brand is the only one that tastes good).  They're charging upwards of $5.00 more for the same bottle I just bought at Healthy Discounts in the valley.

It's a local natural food store on the westside.  The store has expanded over the years and has increased its selection of things which is good.  The place is really mellow with nice, knowledgeable and informative staff.  The parking lot is small, but it's rarely a problem getting in and out of the place.  They have a good deli with a good selection of sandwiches, salads, and drinks.  I like to go and get my nutritional health needs taken care of there! A great place!

wording like "all natural" and "organic" usually guarentees at least a double take if im rolling through the area. the name reminds me of playing with My Little Ponies as a kid for some reason. RA has a pretty extansive bulk food section, and there's stuff already bagged for u ultra-lazy peoples who cant scoop out their own goods. They also carry tons of supplements and vitamins - good selection of vegan vitamins!!! if ur gearing up for holiday baking they have alot of baking mixes and flours. Hoo-ray for their deli that offers up veg cesaer salad (yesssssssssssss!!!) and some mighty delish Veg pot pies. Look for little ecclectic items around every corner - lots and lots of grooming products - and they carry my favie brand Alba!

Recently remodeled, and expanded - Rainbow Acres is a MUST for any Los Angeles Organic Foodie.

Their entire staff is very knowledgeable and open to assist in any nutritional or health related queries.

The new expanded section serves many bulk foods, and a wide assortment of grains/nuts etc. I can spend hours in here, just wandering the shelves and trying to figure out how I can become healthier.
