The bf's office party was held here-- I was amazed at the size when we drove in.  You'll notice the softball field from the entry road, but what isn't as evident is the well-planned layout.  There are tennis courts, kiddie playgrounds, a dog run, a gazebo, and numerous picnic areas.  Despite this, the trees shield the areas from each other, so you don't have to picnic right next to another large party.  Definitely a plus when the water balloons start flying.

While the park was somewhat dry and dusty, they get +1 star for easy ($5) parking, and the grill space is enormous-- 6-8x3 ft.  That's a lot of yummy BBQ.

Nice park but dog park could definitely be improved upon.  The mulch helps, but dirt is still very prevalent and dusty.  Also, the fence is very, very low in some areas.  If your dogs are escape artists like mine, I probably would not recommend this park in particular.  Also, keep in mind the small dog hours...it is heavily enforced.

We came here while on vacation with our 6 month dobie so she could run, play and get some exercise. First, don't pay the parking fee. Park outside the gate and walk in. Second, beware of small dog time. If you don't have a small dog, then you are persona non grata during the twice a day small pup play time. For those with small pups, it's great.  Third, no treats for the pups are supposed to enter the premises. I had a couple of small training treats and was promptly chastised by other owners when THEIR dogs came ambling over, begging.  Geesh-- I was working on recall. Fourth, this is not a sandal friendly park. Read: bits of poop. Fifth: bring your own bag.

Overall, it was ok. My dobie loved it. I was more of the critic.

Lovely place to enjoy a family and friends re-union picnic. The weather is perfect at this time of year, not too cold or hot. Our group include 4 generations of one family. Wonderful ambiance among the trees and nature to enjoy the day! Go outside!!!

I have no idea why I chose to come here for some "hiking." Initially, I had intended to hike the Joe Rodota Trail nearby with family but my cousin (who didn't go, btw) insisted that this was an address for said trail.

We all decided to input "500 Ragle Road" into our GPS devices and on we went. To our surprise, we pulled in and was told that we'd have to pay a $6 parking fee. Um yeah....no. We turned back around and parked on the street for free. We walked in and started on the trail where another surprise came...it wasn't a mountainous hike like we had imagined. The trail was paved all the way on a flat surface. It wasn't a bad stroll, but we had hoped for something more.

On your way through the trail, you can pick pears and blackberries (sorry, not the phones...I meant the actual fruit!). Be careful of poison ivy though cuz they're out there. You can walk or run the trail. There were some really cute doggies out for a stroll also. The provide dog poopie bags for owners that forget to bring them or who are irresponsible. Hehe...

I don't recall seeing restrooms but I'm sure there are some, somewhere in the park.

Good place to run or walk, nice views, nice people, pretty flowers, yummy fruit.

Great county park. Both a paved trail AND a long nature dirt trail, dog park with a small dog hour each day, new playground, sports fields, tennis and volleyball courts, plenty of grass and picknicing, and great staff. The  For those living in Sonoma County, a county park pass is great. I'm a senior and it pays for itself in 3 1/2 visits. I also have visited 2 to 3 county parks in one day.

Joe Rodota Trail is paved and isn't what one would consider a nature trail.

This is one of my favorite parks in the west county--giant fields, very pretty and open, and in the back, there is a hiking trail. The area in the back, where the trail is resembles the English countryside.
