As an 11 year old I LOVE Raging Waters. The food is good taste wise and price wise (recommend the chili cheese dog!!!!). I love the rides there. This place isn't too "thriller" if that's what your looking for, and the park isn't huge. Expect it to get crowded and the lines are best in the morning and after 4:00 in the afternoon (6:00 is closing time). Guaranteed fun!
Rides:
Dragon's Den (2 people)
Great White Shark (2)
Barracuda blaster (3 at the most)
Blue Thunder/White Lightning (speed slide)
Serpentine Slides (1)
Wave Pool (The waves have WHITECAPS!!!!!)
Lazy River
Mini Slide (1)
Monkey Bars (over the water)
Shotgun (only if you're a good swimmer!)
2 toddler areas
Pirate Playground (water plaground with climbing nets, water guns, fountains, lots of levers that control water flow!)

My sister and I went on a Monday in July. The sun was barely showing up that day but it wasn't that cold.
-Theme park was just OKAY.
-Clean waters.
-Water rides wern't THRILL enough for me to want to go back again.
-The Lifeguards here seem serious about their job. They really do look out for you.
-Had beach chairs
-And of course, food is, not surprisinly, expensive!
But, what I did enjoy was "The wave." This not a thrill ride. It's cool because you can just swim like your in a swimming pool. And when the buzzer goes off that means that the waves are coming! The waves aren't that big but it's nice to ride along with it.

I hadn't been to the waterslides in ages and really wanted to stop by here because I've never been before. So me and some friends decided to go for my birthday.
Reasons why I did not enjoy it:
- Coming on a Sunday in summer we waited for 40-50 minutes in line for the slides. We got through 1 slide and got too impatient for the other that we left the line 15 minutes into waiting and the shortest ride in the park we waited about 20-25 minutes.
- Even though it wasn't too hot out our feet were BURNING waiting in line and walking through the park. (Tip: don't leave your flip flops or water shoes in the locker if you don't want burnt feet.)
- Nothing surprising here, but pay for everything! Parking, Admission, Locker, Food/Drink. Good thing about this is they take credit cards at most locations in the park.
- Mediokre food that leaves you hungry. I thought combinations were with chips AND drink but nope just chips only. Drink pay for seperately. It shouldn't be called a combination maybe just call it a bonus.
- What happened to family friendly? Me and my friend walked by males who were cat calling us and pretending to "get off" with us walking by. Disgusting.
- Best to come in even numbers. There was three of us and it was hard to do the double person ride and they didn't offer a line for single riders.
Coming from the east bay area I wouldn't make the drive out to the south bay. I'll just stick to waterworld.
We went here to celebrate my b'day! It was great fun, and honestly speaking much better than we expected! The park really neat and clean, especially the water!
The tickets were cheap - $22 from costco so you really can't go wrong with that. As for the crowd - well, it's a park so needless to say there are going to be big crowds. For the better slides, it took us a good 20 -30 minutes. But all in all, we had a sweet time there.

I've been here many times since I was a kid. The food is delicious, but over priced. The rides never get boring, but waiting in line when there are day camps get annoying, so never go on Fridays and the Weekend. The wave pool and endless river are cold so it is great to cool off in. The life guards always make sure you are safe, which sometimes sucks if you are joking about with your friends in the pool. However, the last two times I was there, there was a code brown, twice. It is not really their fault and at least they worked on getting everyone out efficiently. I recommend this place when it is HOT! Also, don't come in big groups because it sucks waiting for everyone to go down the slides.
Went here for the first time in like 10 years or something.
Good Times! Was a sunday and not too crowded. Was like 80+ degrees. Got a little busier later in the day.
You can go IN n OUT (In n Out burger not far! off 280 and Santa Teresa) to your Car, so pack a lunch and bring some drinks in the car!
only allowed to bring in Water unopened. Food inside is not too pricey but quality is med-low
I was here this weekend and it was great. Not too crowded. About 1/3 occupancy. I bought the season pass for $41.00 and I'll make use of it.
PROS: Alot of fun slides and nice wave pool. Not too crowded. We were thirsty and wanted to water so this Asian chick at the ice cream bar hooked us up with some FREE water. A plus!
CONS: Parking was $6. Lockers for rental were $10. And I am sure the food and drinks (aside from water) were costly as well. Damn Raging waters trying to rape its visitors from their money. Grr...
OVERALL: A cool fun place to hang and spend your summer at. I saw a few cute chicks (yes, they were over 18). Parking and accessibility was fair.
IF you're gonna go, go on a hot hot day since the water isn't exactly warm.
OH and we lost one of our keys and one of the staff dove in and retrieved the key right away. Major plus on customer service. Thanks dude!
Enjoy.
If anyone can give a very accurate review of Raging Waters it would be me. I grew up going here, as a high schooler I life-guarded here, and as an adult I go here once a year with our honors students. I have watched rides come and go, sadly my favorite ride is no longer there due to safety concerns. But, the place is clean, fun, and safe. I think it is so funny that people think the water is dirty when the place is teeming with the smell of chlorine. There is plenty of space all around the park to lay your stuff down, don't just settle on the first spot you find because there are a lot of hidden locations all around the park with plenty of shade, quiet, and lounge chairs.
My favorite rides are the speed slides (White Lightning and Blue Thunder) and the Shot Gun. I love the Endless River but only if I am in a tube relaxing. The Wave Pool is fun but can get crowded, I do not recommend it if you are not a strong swimmer. People have to get saved from there everyday, those waves are no joke.
Yes it is pricey and if you live nearby a season pass is your best deal. It is still cheaper than Great America. The best time to come is obviously during the week, you can have the whole park to yourself. Of course weekends and holidays like Memorial Day and Independence Day will be freakin' packed so stay away, unless you like waiting in line. The food is mediocre and overpriced as well. I would just sneak in my own if I were you. But, the place is definitely fun, I look forward to it every May!

Summary:
- Surprisingly clean water
- Surprisingly small venue
- Very friendly and attentive staff
- Good tasting but pricey food
- Definitely not thrilling for teenaged/collegial/yuppie crowd
- No one is really in shape there so don't bother working out
- Not a good place to meet 21+ single groups
- Excellent for family fun
- Surprising classy demographic
Lines are too long due to overselling the park. Went there on a random tuesday and had to wait 30-40 minutes for every ride. I could have ridden 5 rides an hour; instead I rode 5 rides in 4 hours, and spent most of my day in long lines.
I think a super low-priced season pass makes the park oversold. With the web and buying tickets online, they could control how many people come to the park, but a daily overselling makes the patrons spend most of the day in a line, and makes a lot of money for the park owners.
The park could limit occupancy and thus "sell out" to keep the number of people lower, or they could charge more. But some un-genius in their upper management instead makes the season pass about the same price as two visits. The result is that this is your first time going and you're surrounded by regulars, so many that all rides have a 40 minute wait. Great for the park making money but not great for you. A season pass holder may go 10 times in the summer and pay an average of 6 dollars a visit; meanwhile you pay 30 for your one single visit of the summer. And of course you won't be back. Why? Because the 30 minute wait per ride turns you off. It's a bad business model. Not to mention the bad-will business practice of charging 10 dollars for a box-sized locker. The park management knows you'll need one and takes advantage.
This park would be great if rides were a 10 minute wait, but at 40 minutes, it's a bummer.

Same 'ol rides for the last 10 years? I'll still go whether it's for work or with friends. I'm not sure if it's just me but when I was younger the wave pool was so fun! Now it's just seems okay, must be me getting old but at least the kids love it.
Look for local deals from the grocery store, soda cans, or coupons to get like $5-10 off. You can also get a season pass if your thinking about going for 4-5 times during the summer.
I have vivid memories as a child scraping my knee in the wave pool bleeding and almost drowning in the shot gun (note it took 3 minutes for someone to help save me)
ah and the pee smell was so strong, i remember it lingering for a day or two on my body...
the good ol...wait a sec...
wow it's not that really wasn't that good was it?

Have you ever had the urge to jump into a toilet bowl after having that long ass morning piss?
If you haven't, don't come here. Haha, it reeks of urine and chlorine.. I mean, I guess it's nice to look at.. but frankly, I don't know how comfortable I am with my sons sitting in your bratty ass kid's pee.

So I used to work here and it was hell.. The supervisor dolores was treatin all the employees like crap. Anyways, the park itself is fun though.. fun to go on a weekday when its not as busy..Food is horrible there except maybe the ice cream?? Just eat at the plaza next to eastridge before you go or after..Fun park
I love Raging Waters! Yea it is expensive to go for a daily fee, so it is better to just get a membership. The key is to park over at Eastridge and walk over a 10 minute walk. So I talked my boyfriend in taking me here on my 28th birthday. I had so much fun acting like a kid as I get closer to becoming 30 years old.
Back in the day I used to work here as a lifeguard when they had the ride, Rampage. Things have certainly changed. Adults can no longer ride on the middle (yellow slide) on the serps, because they go too fast. That was lame. The lifeguard was rude asking me what slide I wanted to go on and he said I couldn't go on the middle one. So why ask? Other than that I like all the rides here and can't wait for next summer.
My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out over the weekend. It wasn't too hot that day, so it wasn't that crowded when we got there in the morning. However, the place became extremely packed around 2:00-3:00. By that time, the lines got so long that we pretty much gave up and chilled in the wave pool and endless river. I only went on one slide because I fell off the intertube in the tunnel part. My fault for letting go, but I will try more slides next time. I'm such a wuss. XD
They really get you coming and going in this place. They charge $30 for adult admission, $6 for parking, plus $6 (and a $3 deposit) for a medium locker. Then they charge you an extra $6 for a single intertube ($8 for a double), which I think is pretty lame. They should include that with admission! Food is uber expensive. Chicken strips were about $9.00. Well, it's a theme park, so that's just how things go, I guess.
The womens' bathroom was really disgusting, as there was pee all over almost every single toilet seat there. Yuck. I'm assuming children did that... if not, then I don't want to know. Also, it was annoying how everybody just kind of hogged all the chairs in the lawn area by leaving all their crud there. Um, that's what the lockers are for. Either that, or use your car or have somebody watch your stuff. Anybody can easily come up and steal things.
Anyway, I will probably come back here next summer just to try the slides I missed out on. From what I hear, it's a whole lot better than Water World, but I will have to find that out for myself.
i worked here for 2 summers.
it's a fun job.
but i'd come here for fun when i wasn't working..
i've always loved this place when i was little..
the rides keep getting better and better..
i mean, it's san jose.. nothing too crazy, but it's fun and exciting..
it's a bit pricey for the park.. and especially the food.. soo.. boo
everything else is awesome..
fyi for people who lose things on the rides.. lifeguards do dives at the end of the day and pick up your sunglasses n' such.. don't expect money because everyone is a theif!

Today was an intended day off to try this water park... Its my typical Fun now, cry later day-- take away all the worries before Judgement day .
So. Had fun with all the slide rides. gulped water and chlorine and wasted all those vampirely- afraid- of the- sun,- stay -in-your- room days-coz-u- cant -get-more- melanin-out. You know what that means for me?
Tanning a little bit was worth worth all the fun!!!! The place was so cool they had a lake behind the perimeters and very well kept too. the staff made sure everything is safe so they had to do Quality check even between riding times. The wave pool was also great--I wish though I knew how to swim. I tried their shotgun even if it means manning up for the ten-feet water. Their serpentine slide holds three lanes, although I never tried the pink one coz I saw two tubes tipped on it as I was goin up---
Try the Dragon's den, everything was just a blast. Next time Ill go here with friends. definitely will come back.
Hell ya!
I went today for Corporate Event for my mom's work. Ah to be a kid again. I haven't been here in over a decade and lots of how I remembered it were still in place. Lots of good times. My experience is really enhanced by the sponsoring company. Hmm let me see, free food *check* unlimited sodas all day *check* free nachos and dippin' dots *check*. Oh yeah did I mention that the park was closed to only employess and families for the day. Free inner tubes all day on all slides.
It felt full circle for me today. I remember my last trip I was way too scared to go on any of the slides and stuff as a kid because I didn't know how to swim. Today I conquered them all. My biggest fear back then was the shotgun. Seeing that deep black pool looking so menacing like it would swallow me up and never let me out. Today I shot out of it twice and its one my favorite slides. I also really liked the dragon den. Put 2 grown a$$ men the inner tube and watch that sucker fly. Since the park was closed just for us none of the slides had more than a 10 min wait time which was awesome.
The only bad thing that went down that day was the power LOL. It went down at least twice in the late afternoon so all the water pumps stopped and shut down the slides. Its alright though because by that time I already rode everything so i just chilled in the wave pool.
So, after a long day at the Raging Water water slides we went for a nice hearty meal at McDonald's. I flicked something off my chair before sitting down which just happened to skirt the side of my friend's (Nate S.) shin.
Nate- whatever you just *flicked* hit me
Me- Oh well Nate. We *have* been swimming in piss for the last 8 hours.
It's completely true and frankly, I don't really care. I mean, I hear it's good for your complexion? Anyway, gross. So, regardless of the pee, Raging Waters is NO Manteca Water Slides.
The slides are just OK. The lines are pretty long, rides short and just not that satisfying.
I did, however, like all of the lounge chairs and open areas to just chill and get some sun. So it's great if you're not into water slides or you have kids and just want to relax while they go off and submerge themselves in pee saturated water.
Some perks: the lazy river (although you have to rent a tube) and the two slides, thunder and lightning. The darker blue one is better than the light blue...I think it's thunder.
Go here for some good people watching as well...I was amazed at the level of self-confidence exuded by so many free living individuals...men in speedos, women with boobs down to their stomach (literally) and then everything in between.
I mean, I def prefer Manteca but since they no longer exist and Ali Gato R. and I were dying for some fun in the sun, we checked it out. I'd go back (maybe if I were craving some more sun during the shitty SF summers) but would try the slides in Vallejo first...just to see which is better.

Yea, the two star comment, "Meh. I've experienced better" definitely sums up what I have to say about Raging Waters.
I would definitely spend my 30 dollars elsewhere.
The lines were super long, and during the span of three hours, we went on five rides. Just the thought of thinking how much time we spent in line kind of depresses me.
Maybe I was just a little disillusioned, because I had remembered it to be a lot of fun, but I guess it's one of those things you kind of grow out of after middle school.
And yea, water is kind of gross, but if you are expecting anything anything better from any water park anywhere, you might want to re-think how you want to spend your afternoon.
Please see Jessa B's review and send her many compliments for it!
I love this place. I've been bugging the husband to go here for the past 3 years and this summer, we finally made it. It was a scorcher in San Jose and I couldn't wait to hit the slides.
I definitely felt like an old fart, but loved every second of it! My insecurites of walking around in a bathing suit all day while being WAY too close to other people in line (I mean, think Magic Mountain half naked, people!) were erased after going on the first slide. I was laughing so hard I almost pissed myself, which probably would have been fine, considering the urine content of the water!
We met some adorable kids who were quick to bond with us over fears of the insanely fast speed slides. A couple little girls kept reassuring me: "You'll be okay, I swear. I've gone on this one lots of times." Too cute! But, man, those speed slides were CRAZY. I caught serious air and can't imagine what it would be like for a little 50 pound kid!
This is a fantastic place to visit if you want to laugh, have some fun, cool off, and forget all worries of being a neurotic, over-worked, stressed-out adult for the day. And, yes, I am admitting to all of these qualities, but I'm still a lovely person, I swear.

I like the wave pool, the waterslides, but I don't enjoy the kiddie area. I'm afraid that the water isn't sanitized. Prices ain't bad either but the food is pretty expensive. Nice place to splash in the water and walk around in a bikini while other guys gawk at you or guys trying to suck in their guts so women think they look macho. Haha! I'm kidding. But really though, the closest waterpark around while it's scorching hot outside and you just want to cool off.

I am a YELPER, hear me rage! I hope some of you reading out there watch commercials.
I go to one waterpark each summer, I favor this one because of it's landscaping, abundance of slides, thrill of rides, and cleanliness. The lines are not too bad, and the price is right. They have season passes for less than $40. What a deal.
This place makes me feel uninhibited and precocious like a child. Gather up a group of friends to soak up the sun and break free from the confines of adulthood.

Raging Waters is a fun place to splash in the water and to ride on some slides. I haven't been to Raging Waters in years, and was able to go back this summer for a company picnic. I was surprised at how small the water park is!! My bf and I went through all of the slides in 1.5 hours.
The rides are okay. Some rides are better than others. My bf and I went in circles several times in the Dragon's Den. It was pretty fun when our inner tube went backwards down a slide entrance. Make sure you have at least two people for the Great White Shark ride. Otherwise the lifeguard will kick you off.. and I wouldn't want you to waste your time in line.
Food is expensive and not good. At the concession stands, sandwiches and fried stuff are $6-$8. I would suggest bringing your own sandwiches and food, and have a picnic in the car.
I'd rather go to Waterworld in Concord, than go back to Raging Waters. There are more rides at Waterworld.

I am always so disappointed when I go to a park and the map looks way bigger than the actual park. We went to raging waters this weekend and had a good time. I was expecting the park to be a little bigger than it was. My BF's daughter had a blast, she was actually tall enough this year to go on all the rides.
I think the two favorite rides that we really liked was the Dragons Den and this baby blue one that shoots straight down. The thing I liked about this park was everything was in walking distance and there is a lot of lawn chairs to sit. I definitely would not come back here on a busy day though. I think we picked a perfect time to go. Also the food was not bad at all compared to a lot of the theme parks.
Would I come back to raging waters again? Probably not, but if i lived in the area I would.

this is the first time i've been to a water park, so my expectations weren't too high. meaning, it was pretty darn fun. i went on a weekday, so it wasn't too crowded, but waiting in line would be much worse if the park was really crowded. the rides are fun, but if you have to wait a loooong time for it, it's not really worth it.
best thing about this place: the wave pool. it's basically a huge swimming pool that's made to look like a beach, and every once in awhile there would be artificial tides. it's super fun. and it's hilarious to hear the buzzer go off (signaling when the waves would start) and everybody would scream. however, i got bumped by more kids than waves. the bottom of the pool and the walls are made with a bumpy texture thing, which enables you to not slip, but i also got scraped twice. hurts, but this wave pool is too much fun.
best ride: i think it's the dragon's den. two people tube ride, where you go straight down in the dark and you shoot out into a toilet bowl looking thing, around and around and then disappear down another slide again. AWESOME.
there's also a whole bunch of lawn chairs set up to rest and sun-tan. really relaxing.
food, of course, is expensive and not too great. cotton candy is $3.50 i think. but the blue was fluffing up nicely. i had to get it. chicken tenders and fries cost 10 bucks. fries were quite salty...they probably want you to buy a drink too.
overall, fun place, worth the 30 bucks if you stay there the whole day. i recommend bringing lunch in the car to eat. and of course, lots of sunblock. i came back from raging waters with a huge sun burn. and go on a not-crowded day.

I thought I was going to hate this place, but I actually ended up having fun. I'm a chickenshit, but the slides had just the right amount of thrill for me. For $20 (group rate) + $6 parking, I thought it was pretty cheap.

God there are a lot of children here. All the time. I don't quite get how the number of children seem to out number adults 6 to 1. The bad parents let their kids run wild and go on rides alone that are *ridiculous* for such little humans. The mediocre parents watch from the side as their kids float on the endless river. The really amazing parents float with them, trying make sure they see their kids in the midst of hundreds other. I saw what must have been a grandmother silently walking chest deep in the river, watching over 5 kids in tubes/swimming/in various states of drowning.
So the rides are pretty cool, though the lines are long. I liked the Dragon's Den for it's corny sound effects. It also amuses me how they play the dirtiest hip hop music sometimes in this park for kiddies, but no one really cares since over the crappy speaker system, no one can pick out the words. (I heard them play Kanye West's "Golddigger" once...)
The no outside food rule is annoying since it's rather strictly enforced. The food inside is okay, but really expensive.
The park is rather small in size, but they cram a lot of stuff in that small space.
I was amused by the psychological implications of the Wave Pool. Every 10 minutes they would turn the waves on for 10 minutes, and then turn them off. When they turn them on again, everyone gives out a booming cheer and rushes in the pool. So why turn the pool off at all?
F%^&K RAGING WATERS.
I'm just kidding, its hella fun.. trust me
Is it summer yet?

First of all, I love water slides, so one star is just for the fact that they have water slides. Other than that, though, Raging Waters isn't really that great. It's got cheesy 70's style decor which looks really tacky, and there's not a whole lot of ride variety. And of course it's crowded, there are too many noisy children, and the water is full of chlorine, but that is to be expected of any water park. Oh, and they ran out of lockers, which was just ridiculous, what sort of amusement park doesn't have enough lockers? We had to keep our money in the car, and couldn't buy $3 bottles of water when we were thirsty. That's just bad business.

1 STAR = 1 AWESOME...you do the math!
I was skeptical.
Raging Waters had a very brief cameo during my adolescence, one that established my now quite verdant fear of flying at 25 mph into the air and plunging into a pool 8 feet below with a crash. That being said, I effin loved Raging Waters inspiring role played out this holiday weekend. AWESOME.
I was old.
But not really THAT old. We watched grammas and grampas hike up the flights of stairs to get to the level 4 rides...and we watched them scream in delight all the way down. Lesson? You are NEVER too old for the water park (and you don't have to wear your Depends...see next paragraph). AWESOME.
But there's all the peeing in the water.
I tried not to think about it too much. Yes, there were MANY children, and yes, most likely 85% of them pissed in the endless river (that's WHY the river's endless), but I am pretty sure the liquid we were doggy-paddling in was about 49% chlorine. My fears were waylaid as the "water" stung my eyes and threatened to melt my contacts. AWESOME.
Eating theme park food while wearing a bikini.
Junkity junk junk junk...except for the veggie burger on a wheat bun! It really didn't taste great, but it felt pretty damn good. AWESOME.
The kids are going to be so obnoxious.
We ran into some of the future Last Comic Standing contestants in line. The kids were hilarious, all quick and pleased to give us the low-down on the fastest slides. AWE.
Watching little kids wait in fear for their turn only to see them laughing out loud once they have resurfaced at the bottom is priceless. SOME.

Used to work as a lifeguard here, if people only new how dirty those pools really were. Fun for a day with firends, eat before you come, or leave the park and come back for food, it isn't very good, and it is expensive. Water slides are always fun, don't care too much for the activity pool or the wave pool.
What a fun place to cool down! Whether it's for the summer or just because this is a great place to go with a group of friends or family! Going down those twists and turns on the long slides! How fun! It doesn't matter how many times you go--you just keep going and going! A place filled with great memories--can't wait to go back!

I've been spoiled by a lifetime of SoCal waterparks, but this place still sucks regardless. I went down this one slide with my roomate...you know that one where you're in the bowl and you drop down...and the stupid 15 yr old employee sent someone down the slide too soon and they almost crashed into us. That almost sucked more. I have a pass this season since if you paid for one day, you get a pass for the following year. I doubt I'll use it.

I went to Raging Waters for the first time over this past weekend, and I had more fun than I thought I would. There are only a handful of waterslides (less than 10), but all of them, but one, were really fun. The Dragon's Den was pretty cool, and Blue Thunder/White Lightning was probably the scariest because you actually catch air for a second during your descent down the slides. Serpentine Slides is right by the entrance and is a great way to kick off your day. Do yourself a favor and avoid waiting 1 hour to get on Barracuda Blaster; that ride was awful, slow, and boring.

its like a ghetto disneyland. the lockers are so 1980s. they write down your name and give u a key. waterworld in concord is way better. all the kids cut in line and we waited 30min and wasn't able to go to any rides. less than hour later we left. on the website it says if you are not within the first hour you get a refund. i asked the ticket booth for a refund and they don't me they couldn't do it and told me to do it thru the website. when i was on the website it said no refund!!!
is there anything happier than running around in a bathing suit all day sliding down giant slides? i can't really compare this to other parks in the area, because it was my first water park attempt. i'm not gonna lie - the boy and i picked this one solely cause the pirate ship looked cool. the pirate ship, though - not so cool (really just a silly thing meant for kids). but that's ok, because it was a super fun day and the slides were great and the wave pool was fabulous and the price was right and the lines were shortish.
there is this one ride called the dragon's den that i did like 5 times because it is the most fun water ride i have ever been on. that alone was worth the admission. if you go - see if you can beat our FOUR TIMES around the den! wootwoot!
