Location, location, location! I really enjoyed being able to walk around in my jogging shorts and sports bra from the hotel to the gym and restaurants nearby.

The rooms are nice and clean, the staff there are very polite. Since our company has worked out a deal with the hotel, the rates are really low for a hotel of this caliber.

Staying at this Radisson from Aug. 11 to Aug. 13, 2009, just checked in today.  Seriously I expected much better for the money, around $150 a night, paid upfront discount.  I have not been impressed with anything here yet from check-in to the room.  No pool, no great extra so far.  The only plus is that the room seem clean, the carpet not so much, and the room does not smell.  There is a flat panel TV, but who doesn't have those now.  Also, I ended up with two doubles and not a king bed.  My wife is not thrilled about that, but maybe I'll sleep better :)

I don't see things getting any better, but the place is tolerable.
Be aware that parking is extra with my cost this week being $19 a night, no valet included in that.

I'll look for another place if I visit MSP again.

First, I did not stay at the Radisson but was there recently for an event in one of their banquet rooms.

The facilities were standard - nothing special.  But the food was awful.

The starter salad was fine.  The lettuce was not perfect but not offensive.  It's the main course that was sad.  I had a dry, fishy piece of salmon laid on a gluey, tasteless risotto-like substance.  It had no taste and I salted it hardcore - then just had to give up.  It was yuck.  My husband had a ravioli dish, which ended up being limp, slimy vegetables with pieces of flat pasta draped over it.  We ended up just laughing at how gross it was.

Dessert was fine:  a layered cake.  But at this point we had pretty much given up on having a good experience.

That said:  the Radisson hotel may be good, but their banquet food was not the night I was there.  If you are considering having an event here you will need to manage the quality of the food so your guests are well fed.

A typical business hotel in the heart of Minneapolis. This was my second visit to Minneapolis for one of my best friend's wedding. They had spacious rooms and non-offensive decor, but lacked items such as cotton swabs in the bathroom.

When I called down for items, they didn't show up right away, but the staff were friendly enough and always easy to deal with.

The suite where the bride and groom stayed was nice although, again, it wasn't exactly impressive, if only in size.

The sleep number beds are good, if not gimmicky.

I liked that it was close to the Light Rail. I only had to walk two blocks from one of the downtown stations.

All in all, a fairly "meh" experience.

The wedding I attended was gorgeous though, and so was Minneapolis in fall.

This was a bit upscale for a Radisson and we appreciated that. The room was very nice, the beds very comfortable, everything clean. Didn't eat in the restaurant, but it's nice that they had one, and we did enjoy a drink or two there. I would definitely stay here again.

We got this hotel for a really good price via Hotwire.

Friendly service, as is the standard among Twin Citizens.  Excellent suite service.

The regular rooms are pretty spacious, the suites are big and open with a large bathroom.  The rooms have all been clean. They have sleep number beds, which I disliked, maybe because I could not find my sleep number!  Toiletries were okay- just the basics (shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc.).  The hair dryers are travel size.  Travel size hair dryers are appropriate when you're *traveling*.  If you're at a hotel, you're no longer traveling. You're there.  The dryer in my room stopped working after about 10 minutes and I had to call for another.

Service seems to be hit or miss.  Most of the things we had delivered or requested were brought to the rooms immediately.  But once, we were transferred to housekeeping twice with no answer before asking to speak to the manager.  The concierge and front desk did not seem familiar with the area - I'd expect them to know the nearby restaurants, coffeeshops, bars, etc.  But most of our questions about directions or the nearest Starbucks were met with blank stares and an offer of a local map.

Club level access is mediocre.  The nightly happy hour was disappointing (two appetizers plus some raw veggies) and drinks.  Regular rooms on the club levels appear to be the same size and room setup as regular non-club level rooms.

There's a parking garage underneath the hotel.  They offer parking coupons when you check in, but I later realized that it's not for *free* parking.  It's just to bill the room instead of paying cash as you exit.  In fact, worse than cash, because they bill your account when you take the coupon, not when you exit the garage. So if you take two coupons, but only use one, you're still charged for both.

UPDATE 5/30/08:  One of the nights I had booked through an online consolidator, and I provided a credit card. At check-in, I provided a credit card 'for incidentals'.  Upon check-out, they charged me for the room, and I didn't protest, thinking the onlin credit card may have been just a deposit. But it turns out I was double charged. I called the Radisson, and they were very apologetic.  They called back within a few hours and had credited my account.

For $130/night, this hotel is great.
Everything is new, clean, and high-end.
Lobby is marble.  Hallways contain new carpeting.  Rooms are tastefully done.  Free wired Ethernet connections in each room.
Concierges were very knowledgeable about area restaurants and stores.
Hotel is in the middle of downtown Minneapolis, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, department stores, pharmacies, coffee shops, etc.  Probably the most convenient location in Minneapolis.
Hotel contains an amazing restaurant, Fire Lake, that serves great American bistro food.  Worth going to just the restaurant.
Hotel is quiet, efficient, and friendly.
Definitely worth a try.

The standard room is not expensive at all and is about the size of a suite that you would find anywhere else in the country.  Didn't have any problems with service or check in.  For a chain hotel it felt very clean and even a bit lux.
