4 reviews for Radisson Hotel
They had sleep number beds. I'd never been in one of those. What a trip! I think I ended up a negative number and boyfriend was somewhere around 20 something. I slept SO goood. Too bad my car wasn't big enough......
I was very happy with this hotel. Astonishing considering it was cheaper than the Ramada!
The lobby was shiny, sparkling and pretty! I felt like I should be paying at least $100/night.. not $85/night (I think that was a recession price, but hey yay for me!). They had luggage carts -- do you know how important a luggage cart can be for a person who packs for 12? I'm one person, I think I had about 5 bags. Shhhh, don't say anything, I like to be prepared. All that aside, I was happy that everything was easily accessible, like the luggage cart, the elevator, and our room.
We had a nice view of the courtyard fountain, complimentary WiFi, a sitting area, and a surprisingly large closet!
My only complaint was the lighting in the bathroom. Hellllooooo cave land! No serious, I felt like I was trying to put make-up on in a cave. Thankfully they had a mirror in the bedroom, which meant I didn't go into public looking like a drunken hooker. I'm sure everyone appreciated that, especially boyfriend.
I'd definitely stay here again. They just really need to do something about the bathroom lighting and this is just a teeny request... but they need to make the mirrors longer in the bedroom. Not having a full-length mirror requires jumping jacks in order to see if the shoes look good with the new pants.. and if those shoes happen to be 3-inch stilts, the jumping jacks are not fun. Full-length mirrors are like the new Twitter, everybody's doing it....
Okay, 4 stars.
1 star for the... nawww... 1.5 stars for the sleep number bed
1.5 stars for the luggage cart and easy accessibility of everything
1 star for the overall room appearance and cleanliness, oh and for not turning off the fridge.. Thank you!
I go to this hotel a couple times a year when visiting relatives in the Chatsworth area - mostly because it is the closest one to their house. I can't really compare it to other hotels in the area since this is the only one I've gone to. It's a respectable hotel - clean, nice lobby, decent restaurant. I do like the Sleep Number beds so that me, Papa Bear and our little Baby Bear can have it just the way we like it. The reception staff are always kind and courteous - but more business-like rather than friendly and hospitable. And that's probably because it might be mostly business folks that go there since you know, all the porn studios in the area!
Here are the cons: REALLY THIN WALLS and a central courtyard that can be very noisy if there is a wedding reception going on downstairs.
We live half a mile from this hotel and reserved a room online. My guest had a wisdom tooth crack and subsequently extracted so she was unable to stay the night. When I called to talk to the Manager, Arthur - who is the weekend Manager was coldly professional and told me there is nothing they could do - we had to eat the $90 expense. He wouldn't even give us a raincheck for another night. In this economy I find this response heartless and short-sighted. I definitely would not recommend this place just in terms of their customer service.
We went to SoCal for my cousin's graduation and the Radisson is nearby her apartment. I'd really rate this closer to 3.5 stars but decided to be generous and round up. The staff is friendly and will try to make your stay pleasant. There is a restaurant in the lobby, although we did not eat there it was nice to have an immediately available dining option if you have the late night munchies. The rooms were clean and had sleep number beds which were very comfortable. Free wifi was appreciated and access info was provided upon check in along with our room key. The bathroom was very spacious with a separate tub and shower. Overall I probably woudn't stay here if I was on vacation, but if you are in the area for a short stay/business trip this hotel would probably work out well for you.
