Got a great deal on a last minute trip to Boston, and after reading the reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor, i didn't know what to expect. I got a upgraded room on the 23rd floor, the check in and the concierge were very nice.
I didn't bother with the hotel restaurant or bar, but the WiFi was strong and free. Lots of places around, close to the T line, and Boston Commons. -

The Radisson is a joke of a hotel.
The staff - particularly the valet dude with the bluetooth thing in his ear - are rude and abrasive.
The hotel is ugly and poorly kept.
Do yourself a favor and never ever stay here. -

Dump. Not even trying.

Highlight is the rooftop garden and enclosed pool. We were here during a muggy, oppressive heat wave and that pool/rooftop garden area made the worst part of the afternoon bearable.
Excellent location in theater district, easy to walk anywhere and really get a feel for the city. Room was fine, comfortable, nothing fancy. -
Review from Kawena K.
Super friendly staff, clean rooms, great location, and even an indoor pool!
I really like this hotel, we've stayed here every single time we've come to Boston. Everyone from the front desk to the concierge has been extra accommodating and friendly with great suggestions on where to sightsee and eat. The rooms aren't fancy but they are clean and comfy and equipped with free Wi-Fi. The downside is that the walls and ceilings seem to be a bit thin, sometimes you can hear other people talking and the plumbing, however, the location really makes up for it since since it's within walking distance to Newbury Street, the Commons, Chinatown, Downtown Crossing, and many T stops. -

This is a pretty unfriendly hotel. I stayed here when I had too much to drink one night. I know that hotels try to get you out by the afternoon, but they try to kick you out at 12:00 sharp. The food is not that great here either. I think they were expensive too. I would rather not stay there again.

There's nothing particularly "rad" about this Radisson. If all you need is a bed in a this part of town, it'll do. If you're looking for fine amenities, I suggest going elsewhere. My co-workers all had rooms at the Park Plaza down the road and I was extremely jealous.
The Sleep Number bed would be a big plus for some folks, I guess. The carpet in my room was dirty when I arrived and was not vacuumed during the entire week of my stay. The bathroom door would not close completely--it didn't fit squarely in the door jamb. There was mold on the bottom of the soapdish--yes, I'm the kind of neat freak who checks for such things.
There are many other hotel choices in the area, and in the future, the Radisson will be my last choice. -

Great location near Park Square (close to Back Bay & downtown), near tons of restaurants & a couple blocks from a T stop. Beautiful view of the Back Bay from the 16th floor. Best part of the room? The clean stark white bathroom- modern white marble vanity with cool fixtures, white subway tiles, oversize rain shower head. Wish my own bathroom looked like this! I could have done without the weird Sleep Number beds...I just kept it at the setting it was already on, which along with the smooth linens, was very comfy. Wifi and internet is not free...that was annoying since it's pretty much a necessity in all hotels nowadays. I wasn't in my room for long, but still.
I had an awesome web deal that made this a good value- room, breakfast for 2 and parking. The in-and-out self parking was the best part of this deal, especially in this part of town (front desk gives a swipe card). Breakfast was a buffet of both hot and continental choices- I personally liked the spinach quiche, apple stuffed pancakes, and I also grabbed a little box of cereal for a snack on the plane ride home.
I docked 1 star due to the excruitatingly slow elevators...made me wish (and I NEVER wish this) that I was on a lower floor so I could just take the stairs. There's always inevitable the people who take the elevator for just one floor, which irks me when I've been waiting 10 minutes to go 16 floors. I also couldn't get the balcony sliding door open...not sure if it was permanently shut so I couldn't enjoy the unseasonably warm Boston weekend weather. -

I loved:
- The stunning view of the Boston skyline from our 20th floor room.
- The sleep number bed - you can adjust for firmness, and each side of the bed can have a different setting.
- Convenient location just a block from Boston Common and the Public Gardens, and a short walk to the Boylston and Chinatown T stops.
- The little foldable map that came with our room key - so compact it can fit in your wallet.
We paid $189/night last weekend, a special wedding block rate. -
Review from Denis S.
At the regular prices, this is one expensive hotel. BUT, we got ourselves a pretty good discount and all of a sudden it's looking like a much better deal.
The room is a good size and the bed is HUGE. I haven't really realized this before, but a king sized bed is just unnecessary. Sleeping alone, too big. Sleeping with a partner/friend, too big. Having a slumber party with 10 of your close friends, still too big! BUT, it does let you adjust the firmness on both the left and right side, and since I like really hard beds, that's pretty awesome!
The bathroom is less impressive. Very bare-bones. Plain white. Doesn't fit the bed at all. The room itself is very large, but for some reason the tv and the table are on the smaller side. As always, the $35 per night parking rate is atrocious...Listed in: My Trip to Canada

First Class all the way... Great staff who go out of their way to help... hats off the John at the Concierge desk.. Excellent location, walking distance to all the major spots downtown.. Fenway Park is about a 15-20 minute walk away... Rooms are great, comfortable, everything you need... And a number of excellent restaurants just blocks away.

Got the bed and breakfast package that included parking. Very clean. The service was great. Had a little confusion about the parking but it was straightened out immediately. Roger the concierge was very friendly and helpful and upgraded us to a very spacious room on the 24th floor with 2 balconies. I dont think our sleep number bed was working right. It was just ok. My big problem was that our bed was right next to a very noisy elevator. The elevators were slow and you cannot use the stairs form floor to floor. The cleaning staff also tried to ride the elevator with us. there was no room! They were trying to fit their brooms and buckets in when it was jam packed with guests! Wanted to try the pool but several guests told me it was very cold. The room was clean and had an amazing view which made it worth it for us! Free wi-fi in all the rooms is a big plus!!!!

Decided to tack on a night in Boston when we flew back east for a wedding in RI (since we were flying in and out of Logan), but didn't want to pay a ton. Enter Priceline...thanks to them we scored a room at the Radisson for $120 (for a Sunday night). The location was fantastic! We could walk everywhere...super close to Boston Common, Beacon Hill, Newberry/Bolyston/Beacon, etc... We even walked back to the hotel from Fenway after catching the Sox-Yankees game.
Rooms were clean, the linens were nice and the sleep number beds were a cool novelty. I don't think I would ever own one, but JP and I enjoyed finding "our numbers!" The business center in the lobby provides guests with two computers with internet access and a printer if you are traveling without your laptop.
Parking is on the expensive side, but it's Boston. $31 for self-park (you have in and out privileges), $33 for valet.
Again, for the price and location, this was a score! -

I have stayed at better for cheaper. The outside was not much to look at, but IMO Boston is not a pretty city. It is more so a sturdy city that can fight off the cold winters. The decor in the room was very standard for the price. Yup you are paying for location. Everything is centrally located. You hop out the door and you are there.
I am deducting points for the noise level. We could hear the lady next door have a freaking 2 hour conversation. You cam hear the plumbing. Showers running toilets flushing. There was a weird funky smell on the 12th floor but it was not in the room. The sleep number bed did not impress me first because it did not work and it seemed like something my grandma would buy. I guess every hotel is trying to have special beds.
The staff was nice. Maybe I am spoiled but I love amenities. Just put the cost in the price and claim it's free . I fall for it every time. Just don't nickel and dime me. -

Stayed one night in June for a Red Sox game. Hotel is very convenient to the Boylston stop, and the balconies have a terrific view of the hotel's wonderful surroundings. The night life was amazing, and being able to stand out on the balcony in the evening with a drink overlooking the city conjured up feelings of Denny Crane. Amazing.
The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant, and the rooms a great size and very modern. Very comfortable night - got a great deal on Priceline -
Parking seemed expensive, so we parked at Alewife Station and took the train in - saved about $20 a day the ride was only about 20 minutes.
Solid hotel in the middle of everything. -

Our main factor in choosing the Radisson for our Boston trip was price: at about $215 a night, it was much more affordable than the other well-known hotels, and still put us in a central location to most destinations. Our suite was newly redecorated, and its modern design & furnishings were very different from the rather drab rooms shown on the website. Two plasma TV's allowed me to catch several fourth quarters during the NBA playoffs while allowing my wife to catch up on her HGTV.
I can't say I'm a big fan of the sleep number bed. It's a far cry from the Heavenly beds at the Westin. Other than that, the room was well-appointed. We did not eat at the hotel restaurants save for room service from the theater cafe one night (the french toast was quite good).
If you do choose to stay here, try to catch Blue Man group at the nearby Charles Theater. -
Review from Bess R.
We stayed here a few weeks ago when in town for a Red Sox game, and it was a pretty good time. The location was really convenient to everything downtown. We walked over to Boston Common and jumped on the T to go over to Harvard for the day and to get over to Fenway.
Rooms were pretty nice - they have Sleep Number beds which were kind of cool. Everything was clean, except the pool. It was gross...a nice film on top of the water. We ordered room service one night and the food was really good.
I would stay here again. -

I wouldn't pay $215. I wouldn't pay $189. I might pay $120, but I didn't.
I was pretty darn happy with this hotel. The bathrooms were basic, but kinda pretty. The coffee set up was convenient, the closet was huge. The linens were comfy (most hotel detergents make me itch). The little balcony would have been fun with a drink and a friend. The business center was basic, but perfectly functional. The location was great and I'd stay here again if I was visiting Boston. Don't be put off by the dated concrete exterior.
My favorite part: the concierge, front desk staff and doorman were efficient and friendly and helpful.
It's not a 5-star steal because the free "high-speed" broadband was more medium-speed, I would have liked a fridge, the parking was convenient but not quite worth the $34, and the pool was closed. I didn't have time to explore the fitness center. -

Safe in room. Optimal location.
Paid $100 on hot wire per night

The best Radisson I've ever stayed at.
Ask for a high floor and you will be given a view of the downtown area and surrounding scenery of Boston. Rooms are updated with Sleep #beds and enough pillows to cushion a whole family. Service is friendly and the location of this hotel is in the middle of everything. Close to the theater district, Chinatown, and public transportation. If you can get a good room rate, its pretty much perfect. -

I stayed at the Radisson recently after a networking reception for work and loved it. Great location close to everything. We checked in late at the front desk and the staff was curteous and kind considering they had to deal with 2 semi drunk chicks. The room service had closed for the evening but the woman behind the desk was kind enough to hand us a couple of menus to have some food delivered.
Our room was on the 18th floor and the view was fantastic!!! You could see the entire city and the Prudential Center was right outside our door. They have new sleep number beds in all the rooms. My friend and I had a hard time figuring out how to get them just right, but no complaints overall.
The room smelled nice and clean...not that typical hotel room smell. The bathroom was nice. Crisp, clean and roomy. I loved the updated fixtures and the tub was huge considering it was your standard hotel bathtub. It featured a curved shower curtain rod so it made it feel even bigger while in the shower. Plenty of nice clean towels. The water was HOT just the way I like it, and the toiletries they provide were very decent for something out of a hotel.
The beds were comfy. The sheets were clean. The hallways were nice and quiet and I slept well. They have some decent amenities...however we were not lucky enough to check them out. There was a pool and fitness center and a restaurant, and the Stuart Street Playhouse is also located right in the lobby.
If I had to make any complaints at all, this is what they would be...
We ordered breakfast to be delivered to our room. $12 for eggs, toast, homefries and bacon that were just ok. I am not a huge breakfast person. What they dont tell you is that they tack on service fees, delivery fees, taxes etc. onto the total, so upon checking out, I had to pay $39 for a breakfast that frankly wasnt that great. The other complaint would be the $34 charge for parking. They should offer a reduced rate for hotel guests.
Overall a great experience.
Would I reccomend to others? Yes.
Would I stay again? Yes
Would I do room service again? Probably not.
Rooms run about $200/night...but if you go on Hotwire, you might be able to get a room for around $80!! -

The hotel is in good condition and has updated bedding, but there are remnants of a sketchier time as the parking is sometimes described as "secure" or "well-lit" - for $40 a day (valet) it better be! You also need your key card to access the elevator - a "feature" that's easily bypassed and provides less a feeling of security and more a feeling that something must have happened here before.
But, without question, the most alarming thing about this hotel for business and leisure travelers is that as of Nov 2009 there is no wi-fi in the guest rooms! So if you're planning to stay here and surf the web be prepared to be tied down at the desk, one user at a time, during your stay.
While we visited they were updating the pool and fitness area and offered us passes to the YMCA! I suspect they could have held off on the remodel and added wi-fi to guest rooms to meet our most basic expectations. -
Review from Doug P.
Just stayed in the Radisson this two weeks ago and it was much nicer than I expected. I was lucky enough to have a beautiful view of the Boston sky line to start, but in addition, the rooms were re-finished and well maintained. The beds were new temperpedics, nice flat scree tv, and fully redone bathroom. When I looked in the closet I was dissapointed there was no ironing board. I called the front desk, and within ten minutes, a new board and new iron (just incase) were brought up. The staff was courteous and friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice our room was after reading mixed reviews on yelp. We were on the 21st floor, very comfortable sleep number bed and everything was very clean. A best bet compared to the W which is pet friendly which I hate(ugh fleas) and the very expensive park plaza.

Having never been to Boston, I wasn't sure where the hotel was located... WOW, it was super close to everything. Literally one block from one subway station and 2 from another. Across the street??? Starbucks, a great selling point! When I got there the hotel staff was so friendly. THey were so accomodating to everyone! The room was clean and quiet...and roomy for a room in Boston... Added bonus, a sleepnumber bed... VERY NICE!!! The maids did a great job everyday of fresh towels and cleaning...Oh, and big shout out to Marvin the doorman... just a real nice guy!!!

I've stayed at this hotel twice now, and have enjoyed my stay both times. It's in a great location, really central to everything, and the staff is very accommodating. Both rooms had a terrace, which was a huge plus and everything was clean and comfortable. I'll definitely be back the next time I visit Boston.

Review from Mary M.
Garden Grove, CA
The outside of this hotel is not very impressive. It seems a bit boring and old but inside was very nice. I don't have a lot of concerns when staying at a hotel because I only use it to sleep. My main concern for a hotel is cleaniness and I found this hotel to be very clean. As for customer service, the bellboys are very friendly. They always helped me with my bags and getting me a cab when needed. I didn't like the girl in the front desk though. I asked for early check-in when I arrive, but I knew I was pushing it because it was 7am. When she said no, I was fine and told her I would check my bags and be back around noon. When I got back around noon, I asked if there was any open rooms for check-in (regular check-in time is 3pm). Again she said no, so I told her I would sit in the lobby and wait. The lobby is not that big where she cannot see me. I sat down to wait for about 1/2 hour but she did not say anything to me. Finally I saw 3 different groups of people check-in, so I went up to her and checked in myself. I was really upset though she did not call me when there was a room available and I sat there and waited the whole time. If I didn't see anyone check-in, I would be there forever because she won't call me up. Anyhow, as for location it's a great location. I walked to Copley Square, Boston Common, Public Gardens, Quincy Market, Chinatown, and there are a lot of restaurants around to get a quick bite. I would stay at this hotel again.
Oh and a minor problem, when the room upstairs took a shower there was a leak from the vent in teh bathroom. I just threw a towel on the floor to take care of it. -

My parents stayed here when they came to visit last year. They had found a cheap rate on http://hotwire.com and somehow the hotel had messed up the reservation. They were upgraded to a suite with great view of the city from the top floor. I'd definitely recommend it.

If weren't for the Sleep Number beds this review would rate five stars. The rates are almost half of what other Boston hotels charge. It's clean, the staff is friendly and it's in a central location. Their in-house restaurant is mediocre but there are plenty of great places nearby and around town to grab a meal.

New York, NY
Stayed here over President's Day weekend, and all in all it was a pretty good place. Nothing too fancy, but spacious and pretty clean. Our room had a great view of Boston, and we were a 5 minute walk from Boston Common. 10 min to the Subway station. Restaurants in the area were pretty touristy- PF Changs, Dunkin, mostly chains. And the hotel is on a busy street, so it doesn't exactly provide the "ye olde english" vibe. But if you're just looking for a clean place to rest your head, and you find a good price online...give it a shot. Only warning: second night there my boyfriend and I did see a prostitute waiting outside a door. Apparently the guy had changed his mind, because she stood there for so long we were able to tell that she was more than likely a he. Anyway- you were warned.

we got a great web deal to stay here, and it was well worth it - included free parking and a 50 dollar gift card to the restaurant downstairs. Best part of the hotel was the view - get a higher level room, there was an unexpected balcony which I loved. Room itself was nice - sleep number bed was a little funky, but I can see some enjoying it. Service was very friendly. Would definitely go back

Lumberton, TX
Loved this hotel! Got a great deal and then was upgraded to a suite upon arrival. I had requested a higher level room for the great views and we were placed on the 23rd floor. The views were amazing up this high and since we had a suite we had two tvs and two balconies. Both were great but especially the tvs as my husband enjoys watching different shows than I do. The two best things about this hotel are 1) Its location. It was within walking distance to most T-lines and close to the beginning of The Freedom Trail as well as other points of interest (Cheers Bar, Charles St., Majestic theater, and lots of amazing restaurants ) 2)The staff. All the staff we encountered were amazing and extremely helpful. I don't think you could have asked for any better concierges. Richard Pettiglio and John Hallett were the best. If you needed anything the staff took care of it promptly. They are what made our trip to Boston one of the best trips we have ever taken.
If there are any complaints it is that the noise level is a little high as others have noted especially on weekend nights. I could hear a lady in the room next to us at 2:45 a.m. and you could always hear the traffic on the street at all hours of the night. In spite of this though I would definitely stay here again if I was in the Boston area. -

http://hotwire.com has a great deal for this hotel, around 100 bucks. our room came with two queen beds (sleep #!), a decent bathroom, and a surprise balcony with a few of the commons. if you are visiting boston and need a nice hotel within walking distance of many of the sights, or if you're from this area, but would like to spend a day as a pretend tourist, the radisson is a great deal for a night out.
