Carl has been our family's piano tuner for years. He does a fabulous job every time! If you are a music theory/history/science geek, you can also go to his web site for a thorough explanation of the art and science of tuning. He tunes to A435 for me, but he also fudges a little depending on the season and what the upcoming changes in humidity will be.
The first time Carl tuned my Kimball upright piano, he actually tuned it up and down twice through, at no extra charge. It needed it, too, as it was way out of whack going from a storefront to a dry apartment.
If you are looking for a quick, cheap tuning, Carl is not for you. He is very thorough, and while you can get a tuning for fewer $$, you won't get nearly the value.
As an added bonus, Carl is an incredible pianist in his own right, and he will play for a few minutes at the end of the tuning! -

Been renting a fantastic Petrof upright from Carl for about a year now, which he was able to find for me after just a description of the type and feel. Need tuning? He'll do a great job, and quick. Need adjustments? He'll surely give you options.
Would definitely recommend his services to anyone.

Meet the Business Owner: Carl R.
Carl Radford received a bachelor's degree in Piano and Theater From Eastern Michigan University. An accomplished pianist, he appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show as well as numerous stage productions and commercials. After a successful Theater career he began working on pianos, and it wasn't long before piano tuning and rentals took over into a full time career and business. He is currently a Registered Piano Technician and President of the North Shore Piano Technicians Guild.
