This restaurant is part of a chain but each one of their stores is well run. The Woodinville one is what I'd call simple elegance (the Seattle one is much bigger and more lively).  Menu is very consistent. Bathrooms are clean and classy (love the orchids). Lovely fish tank which you can see no matter where you're seated. Loose leaf tea comes in a press (small or large). Wait staff is courteous.

I do like that they usually have a $5 off coupon (in local papers, mailing, etc).

If Racha were a baseball player; he would be above the Mendoza line, but not a hall of famer by any stretch of the imagination.

We went there for lunch and were satisfied with the Basil Chicken and Pad Thai that we got. The food tasted no better or worse than any other Thai place.

The place was deserted on a Saturday (not really a good sign). With less aplomb than its cousin in Queen Anne or its competitor Thai Ginger in Redmond, you could have served any type of Asian food in this restaurant: generic.

Racha Thai is your typical Americanized Thai restaurant serving Pad Thai, Basil Fried Rice, Tom Yum Soup, and a variety of curries.

That being said, service is always hospitable and the food decent.  I wish the portions were a little bit bigger, but when using the Microsoft Prime card, it makes it worth it after the discount is applied (buy one, get one).

My favorites are the Thai fried rice (when it's out steaming hot and on a medium spice level--soo delicious) and their Tom Ka Soup.  I have tried the Tom Ka with both chicken and tofu (you choose your protein, and the price changes with it), and I have to say, I might like the tofu better, especially the fried tofu (versus steamed).  It's soft on the inside, but holds in all the juices and flavor because it's fried outside.

Funny thing about the soup is that their "average" spice level was too spicy for me, so I got "mild" the second time.  When I tasted it, it still had a bit of a kick but my receipt said "no spice".  Ha, I didn't think I was that much of a wimp.. Oh well.

Lunch at Racha is great. Your meal comes with soup, a small appetizer AND a cute little dessert. Food is great. Service is decent. Price is very reasonable.

First of all.  I love the $5 off coupons I get in the mail for this place.  Also, the food here is great and the best Thai food in my neighborhood.  Good service and nice restaurant.  I also like that you can get takeout and it still tastes good in the confines of my home.  It's also a great option if you are seeing a movie at the Woodinville theater.

As a vegetarian - this place is not a great place to be.  They told me that many of their dishes contain fish sauce or oyster sauce and if taken out will change the entire taste of the dishes.  It was hard to order.

My eat meating friends thought their regular meat dishes were OK.  A little salty and not enough food for the prices.  The service is slow and and seating could be a challenge.

We just went to Racha this weekend and I wasn't expecting it to be as nice on the inside as it was since it was in strip mall.  Very nice and clean.  The Thai artwork all around was interesting to look at and not cheesy at all like some asian restaurants can be.  The food was delicious and both my husband and I ate every last bit.  The service was fast too.  There was an issue with putting chicking in my husband's order instead of prawns otherwise this would have been a 5 star review.

Met a friend here for lunch as we had been before and it was good and I had an entertainment book coupon for buy one get one free lunch.  My friend had the Pad See Eew, a thick noodle, broccoli, tofu dish.  I had a combo of jasmine rice, pad thai and golden cashew chicken.  Both dishes were hot, properly spiced and served quickly.  Complimentary cup of Tom Ka soup super yummy!  Like a homemade chicken veggie soup with coconut milk added.  Comp. spring roll with peanut sauce just okay.  Without coupon it would have been a little expensive for lunch, but with coupon a fabulous deal.  Especially when you throw in the spoon of green tea ice cream & little cookie dessert. :)

I'm reviewing the restaurant for dinner, I can't speak for the lunch menu, that at least some reviewers are enamored of...

Let me just say that I really enjoy the sister Racha on Mercer near Seattle Center.  I've taken many out of town visitors there who have said it's the best Thai they've every had.  So expectations were pretty high for the name.

So I'm sorry to say that after a half-dozen visits I think of this sister to the Racha on Mercer near Seattle Center as somewhat the culinary equivalent of the direct-to-video Disney sequels like "Cinderella 2" or "The Little Mermaid: The Later Years" (yeah, I made that up.... ) It's from the same company and there are flashes of what you loved in the original --  but it was made for a different audience and, let's face it: corners were cut.

To stretch the analogy a bit further, I'll readily own that were it not for the original I'd be kinder in my evaluation.

The menu here is ok, though less extensive and adventurous than in the sister restaurant.    Service has been attentive and no complaints there.  The surroundings are nice, but it is in a strip mall.  The spicing is the standard  "minus 1 1/2 stars" for the suburbs.

Again, there's nothing wrong here and compared to other Thai in Woodinville (nothing comes to mind immediately) you could certainly  do worse.  For my dollar, though, I'd spend a buck or four on gas and go to Pen Thai 5 miles down the road in Bothell... or even better,  to the Mercer Street Racha.

I used to love this restaurant and still enjoy the food. Unfortunately, the past few times I have been in here the service seems to have gone downhill. Long waits for tables, food, drinks, and even refills really has been frustrating.

This place seems to have gotten extremely popular recently...which is likely for good reason. It is the best Thai food in the area...and that is even said by my fiance who is Thai.

Check it out...but maybe go during less busy hours so that you can truly enjoy your experience.

I love Thai food, and thus I love Racha. The food is great for what you pay. We come here often after work, or for a quick bite to eat on the weekend. It's a strip-mall restaurant, but it's outside appearance doesn't do the interior justice. My only complaint is that the waitstaff is not the most friendly group at times.

UPDATE: The quality of the service has improved greatly at Racha in recent months. The wait staff is very polite and warm and we're always seated promptly and served graciously. It might be because we're regulars who tip well, but who knows...;-)

Racha Thai, Woodinville, is one of our favorite Friday night dinner spots.  The service is very friendly and attentive.  The food is always delicious and the appetizer tower is one of our favorites.  They take the Microsoft Primecard which is always nice.  Racha could be improved by offering cocktails and a better wine selection.

(My husband proposed here!)

Really, I'd like to give Racha 3 1/2 stars, but since that's not an option I'll just round up.

Racha is nice enough.  The restaurant is housed in a strip mall and never really overcomes the strip mall trappings.  While yes, there are some interesting pieces of Thai-inspired artwork along with a lovely fish tank, as a diner you're never fully transported out of being smack in the middle of Woodinville.  So-so atmosphere, in other words.

Having more booths and throwing some curtains on the windows might help the place feel a little more private.  As it is, you're all out in the open if you're seated at a tables, so intimate conversations are not easily had.  Good for business lunches, I suppose.

The food is decent, though there are better Thai places around.  I like the Sen Me Noodles--they're particularly tasty, especially if you like a kick of spice accompanied by the coolness of cilantro.   If you go at lunch, you'll be greeted with a steaming bowl of soup and very fresh salad rolls.  At the end of your meal, you'll get a spoonful of coconutty ice cream--just enough to cleanse your palate.

It's a satisfying dining experience overall, but not one that I crave. Once I'm there, everything's fine, but if I had to choose, I'd go to Pen Thai in Bothell.

My husband and I have been on a quest to find the tastiest Thai restaurant around. We have tried many, but keep coming back to Racha Thai for their delicious Massaman Curry (we like chicken) and Pad Thai. Their spices are always right on (we like 4 stars), the service is great, and - it's close to home! We say that we should try some other menu items, but so far, we haven't. They also have a "nice" selection of teas, but not the most extensive.

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle has a sister site in Woodinville!  I was so glad to find it.  The atmosphere is more suited to the strip mall where its located and the food is very tasty.  I enjoy the Queen Anne location for its Thai decoration and ambience but this location is not as busy and more relaxed.

Possibly the best deal in Woodinville for lunch! Despite pad thai being the hamburger of thai food, it is DELICIOUS and especially good with tofu which was crispy and spicy.  As mentioned in the other reviews, you get complimentary coconut milk (?) soup which was amazing, and fresh veggie rolls. The main course was only about $8 and the green tea ice cream was perfect to finish with. Atmosphere isn't terribly offensive for a thai place and the fish tanks are neat. The waitress was not very attentive though and when I asked for 3 stars of spice for my meal she looked at me and said "you don't want too spicy? no stars? no stars!". Erm, k? Anyways, way worth it and delicious food.

We were impressed with Racha's sister restaurant in Seattle so we decided to go to this one that's closer to home. It's not as fancy as it's counterpart in Seattle but still has a nice intimate atmosphere, great service and food (well...besides the calamari appy, the sauce was great but the calamari was way too chewy, that was the only thing I didn't like there). All in all, it's good value for money.
