Raccoon Creek Golf Club
1 review for Raccoon Creek Golf Club
Very nice course. Dick Phelps design that plays well from all tees. Played it from the back tees and some holes were long. Views were nice, greens were moderately fast and there was a nice variety to the course. Easy course to walk, with only a few hills to negotiate. 17th hole is a real test, Par 3, 235 yards with nothing between you and the green but sand and water. There is a bit of grass over on the right side, but who wants to play there...go for the green ! Lots of bunkers and water to contend with. The bunkers were not in very good shape, little sand, crusty and players do little to rake up after play. Adequate practice facilities, friendly staff and reasonable prices.
I had some reservation as those asked stated that last year the course was not in good condition. I was happily surprised to find that this year the course is in great condition. No problems noticed, except for the many geese. Not that I dislike birds, it is just they leave a lot of animal nigrogen around that sticks to things like shoes, golf balls, cart wheels, etc. An these birds also left a ton of feathers, not bad if you are in the quill pen business, but I had no use for them.
All in all, an enjoyable day. I will go back.
