Excellent knowledge, compassionate bedside manner, and a friendly professional staff.  What else can any patient expect.  My opinion from Dr. Contro comes from a male perspective as my wife is his patient.  Well I suppose I could try and see if he would take me on as a patient but i think that would be pretty weird.

Anyways from the moment we got there for our first appt, we noticed a huge change from our former OB/GYN.  The office staff was receptive and the RN and PA was so kind and happy for us.  This is the same attitude Contro has.  He comes in the room and immediately gives my wife a hug and shakes my hand.  Throughout the appt, he always took time to explain what he was doing.

We left the first visit extremely happy of our choice to switch OB care to MD Contro.

I switched to Dr. Control from my previous OB, when I was about 4.5 months along. Throughout my visits there, I never felt that he was warm towards me.  I felt like he was always cordial and professional, but indifferent.  This was less than 2 years ago.

At my very first appointment, he measured my pelvis and informed me that it was small and that I might have a hard time delivering my baby vaginally. He said my baby looked very big. (How can you suggest this when I'm less than 5 months?)   He suggested a C section and at that time, I was receptive to the idea. It's my first time being pregnant and I believe he is saything this for my best interest.  I did end  up scheduling the C section and Dr. Contro even reassured me that the method he uses to stitch the incision up is with the eye of a cosmetic surgeon.

During one of my lab tests next door, I met another patient of Contro's.  She also had a scheduled C section. Two weeks before my due date, I started rethinking my decision and let Dr. contro know I wanted to deliver vaginally.

When I delivered, Dr control did not deliver me because he was out of town.  I ended up having the easiest and smoothest vaginal delivery - it is a woman's dream to have it as easy as I did.  My baby was only 6lbs and 3 oz - NOT A BIG baby by any stretch.

I don't have anything against women who have prescheduled c-sections, for whatever their reasons are, to fit their own interest. However, I don't feel it's ethical for the doctor to be the one suggesting the C Section to fit his own agenda.  I do feel that Contro made the suggestion to me to have a C section,  to serve his own interests.  Why would this be suggested so early?

I was recommended to Dr. Contro's office and only heard high praises, I even checked yelp first!!! I was actually really excited to go in. The girl on the phone was suuuuuper nice and spent some time helping me schedule a time I could actually do, instead of just brushing me off and getting annoyed ( I have a srsly insane schedule). She told me I could talk about all my issues get some questions answered, etc.

I got there with my paperwork filled out and about 3 mins early. Since I have such a busy schedule it's hard when I have to wait. I mean I think I only waited about 10 or so minutes after my scheduled time which wasn't too big of deal, but worth mentioning.  The first girl was super nice, helpful, and just great. She saw that I was a cash patient so recommended what I would do to get my testing cheaper etc.

When my doctor came in we talked and she told me right off the bat that I would need to come back to talk about 1 of my issues ( the main one!! And reason I actually went there) so she started getting some info regarding the other and went on to recommend various drugs that would handle it. I told her I was not interested in any drugs. She said that unfortunately that is where most of the solution lie now, is with a drug. She had a few other suggestions which she just sort of put out there, but I never got any real info on.

In regards to birth control I said I didn't have any data on it to decide if it was good or bad as I have hear lots of bad stuff. I would think she would be the one to help me differentiate the types and give me data. Instead she said to let her know when I had decided one way or the other. She continued saying over and over how much I needed to get insurance because everything we were going to be doing was going to coat a lot. I didn't even know what we were doing and why. I guess I just felt like she jumped into a lot of differentbthungs without finding the actual problem first.

Honestly I really want to like them. I never met the actual doctor and maybe he was different, better etc. It's a nice office and I am not quite sure what happened with me not feeling like I got any answers in the end. I feel like I shouldn't have gone to the dr at all, cause nothing changed. It was probably something where I needed and wanted one thing out of the visit, and that isn't what they delivered.

Overall I felt like it was a total waste of time and really expensive for what service I ended up getting!

Is anyone noticing that this doctor recommends c sections to EVERYONE? That is simply ridiculous.

Dr. Contro and the rest of the staff is just fabulous.

I am not even prego or trying to get prego, but he and Dr. Jamie are so darn good at being doctors. And the office staff is so sweet.

I don't want to say too much though because it is already really hard to get an appointment.

I really like this place.

I don't write many reviews, But Dr. Contro and his team deserves high praise. Dr. Contro is not just a doctor, he is a caring individual who ensures you're treated well not only in his office but he takes that extra step to ensue qualified staff and care is provided while in the hospital, he makes sure you are in safe capable hands.  In addition he is an artist!  I had a c-section; and barely a noticeable scar he really took his time to ensure I would have very little scaring.  As far c-section goes, I must say mine went very well, yes I was scared but Dr. Contro gave me so much support along the way.  He was humming while nurses prepped me, that somehow helped me, he held my hand and told me what to expect, I had 100+ faith and trust with Dr. Contro which eased my fears.

Dr. Contro is amazing... wait to you meet his the rest of his staff.  This is an office where co-workers really love each other and it shows in the work and services they provide to their clients.

If one can ever feel at "home" in OB office, this is the place.  The entire staff is truly exceptional and caring.

What an amazing guy! He truly took the time to get to know me literally from DNA to that very morning. Just fabulous. He spent a great deal of time with me and I feel confident about delivering a baby with him.

His office was great -- very patient and responsive. I would suggest though that they get more staff. They seem very short staffed.

It turns out that they dont accept my current insurance and I liked him so much that I am planning on changing insurance when the next time I can just so that I can have him as my OB. That's how good he is.

The best OB-GYN a first time mom could ask for!

Back in the 2000's the best doctors in the Good Samaritan area in San Jose acccepted most insurance plans.  But they got smart.  They banned together to join one group and chose to drop most of those plans because they were not paying these doctors what they were worth.  That was good for them, but bad for us.  Most of us were forced to find other doctors who were inundated with new patients, making it difficult for them to see patients in a timely manner.  Others of us were willing to pay out of pocket to see the best doctors in the area.

I was lucky.  Since Dr. Contro had accepted my case prior to dropping my insurance, he agreed to continue my care through delivery.  He was wonderful.   He always remembered my husband's name (which was probably written in the chart, but the fact that he acknowledged it was huge).  And he always took the time to explain everything to me.  He listens!!!!
He knew how worried I was about pain, so he told me that as soon as I felt uncomfortable, it was okay to have an epidural no matter how dilated I was.  That is contrary to what many doctors tell their patients.  My pregnancy, labor, delivery, and post-partum were a piece of cake.

He is still the best doctor I've had and would recommend anyone to him.

Dr. Contro was not my OB/Gyn, but he delivered my baby last year.
I was in labor for 12 hours, when it's time to give birth the nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital told me they couldn't reach my Ob/Gyn, so Dr. Contro would be my doctor today. I didn't know anything about Dr. Contro, but I had no choice. Dr. Contro came in 30 mins later and did a check on me, then he told me he need to get his clothes change. When he came back, he looked at the monitor for 5 mins and told me I need a c-section. I didn't expect a c-section for the whole pregnancy, so I cried and argued with him. He was very firm about his decision and explained to me my baby's heart rate is dropping, it's the best way. Thanks to Dr. Contro's quick respond, my baby born healthily. Also, I can still wear bikini if I get those baby fat off. :P

I am rating not only Dr. Contro (who delivered 3 of my 4 kids) but his whole office.  Dr. Contro is well respected and knows his stuff.  He listens to what you want as a mom and is very mainstream in his approach.  His Nurse Practitioner, Kathy is a gift to me and his office.  She takes time, listens, truly cares and balances the mainstream medical with natural and holistic suggestions.  From the billing, front desk and nursing staff, this office is fun, encouraging, polite, friendly and GREAT.

Dr. Contro is the BEST doctor --- OB-GYN or any other type of doctor --- that I have ever had in my life!
He delivered my daughter via C-section and with no problems and with very little pain or discomfort. He is patient, professional, funny and caring. He always made sure that he answered all of my questions and I always felt that he took the maximum amount of time with me at each visit.
During the C-section he made me feel very comfortable and told me exactly what would be happening before and after the delivery.
My sister is now going to him to have her child and I recommend him to everyone I know is pregnant or is trying to become pregnant.
I just wish that I could clone him so that my daughter would have him as her doctor when she has children one day 
The office staff is wonderful --- everyone there is so happy and you can tell that they love what they do for a living.
I will be trying again in a few years and Dr. Contro will be our doctor again.
And FYI: if you have a C-section (which I highly recommend), Dr. Contro does NOT use staples --- he actually uses stitches to close up and according to the nurses at the hospital, he uses plastic surgeon techniques to close. So if you don't want a scar and you want to have a stronger body that before the delivery, Dr. Contro is the ONLY doctor that my friends have heard of who uses this technique.
So ladies who want to get back into that bikini --- Dr. Contro is your man!
